Reviews for Hôtel-Restaurant Printania

Review 1:The 2 rooms I have stayed in could both do with updating, especially the ensuite shower rooms

Review 2:The fantastic location and view from breakfast room. Fascinating traditional sitting foom

Review 3:The only downside was the lack of a lift which may present a difficulty to those who are less sprightly than they used to be.Parking could also be difficult.

Review 4:Our sea view room had a balcony which was situated directly over the sea from which you could look out over the bay and see yachts and other craftsailing. You could also see St. Malo in the distance. Wonderful!!

Review 5:Unfortunately the restaurant was closed and we had booked the hotel on the basis that it had a restaurant. The alternative they offered would have been ok in the summer but not for the occasion booked.

Review 6:The location was good and position of breakfast room lovely with a view across the water and to St Malo.

Review 7:Deliberately old-fashioned which can be appealing, but furniture and decorations look and feel like they haven't been changed since WWII. Too expensive despite the excellent location and view. Reserving a parking space in advance is a must.

Review 8:Room with a seaview. Bed comfortable. Bathroom good. Hotel is in a quiet street within easy walking distance of several good restaurants and the town centre.

Review 9:nothing

Review 10:a really fantastic traditional hotel right on the bay. room had fasntastic balcony overlooking the bar, staff were super-helpful esp night porter and room was well priced. cannot rec hotel and the place (dinard) highly enough...

Review 11:We were expecting a room with a balcony to sit on and enjoy the view, we paid twice as much than our friends did with basically the same room, we did have a view if you stood and looked out the window.

Review 12:The location of the hotel was good for access to the town of dinard with the beach restaurants, casino fantastic market, and the little ferry over to St malo

Review 13:Glorious location perched over the water with expansive views over the bay towards Saint Servan. The conservatory breakfast room makes for long and lazy breakfasts and an ideal space to shelter when the weather disobliges. The welcome was delightful and the hotel's mood informal. Our accommodation was 200 yards up the hill in the charming Villa Gulf Stream. Comfortable rooms with sublime views.

Review 14:No-one around when checking out. Gentleman in front rang bell a few times but had to call the girl doing breakfast to find someone. This was 9 a.m. Difficulty finding parking space in the afternoon.

Review 15:Comfortable bed and wonderful views. Good general ambiance.

Review 16:No dedicated bar/terrace. Not made clear you could use the breakfast room and order drinks in the evening.

Review 17:View from hotel and colonial feel. Close to St Malo waterbus jetty. Inexpensive bus journeys to local places of interest.

Review 18:The decor and overall feeling of the place was amazing. It was like stepping back in time, so quaint! The location was fantastic, right on the sea front and a short walk into the town centre. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Lovely area to sit and eat breakfast in the morning. I would definitely return here.

Review 19:Full of antiques and Breton charm, view onto bay watching boats and tides, wonderful breakfast and dinners on the balcony. Lovely helpful staff who speak English. Easy access to places like St Malo and Dinan.

Review 20:No service as the person on duty had to do reception/telephone/service with no visible assistance. Residents came in for coffee or tea and left without anything.

Review 21:Location

Review 22:The room small, bed uncomfortable, hotel somewhat dated. Restaurant food rather poor.

Review 23:The location, the friendly staff, the superb view from the restaurant and the waitresses dressed in traditional costume.

Review 24:Breakfasts only "ok", car parking difficult - always ask for/book the private car parking!

Review 25:Great views! - especially when booking a sea-view room with balcony Good restaurant - sea-food excellent

Review 26:Not keen on all the antiques and abundance of artefacts but I suppose that is what attracts many people to this hotel. There were no tea/coffee facilities in the room and the only toiletry provided was liquid soap from a dispenser

Review 27:The position over looking the small quayside was superb. The lady on reception was a marvel!. Really helpful and considerate.

Review 28:We were so looking forward to dining in the hotels Breton restaurant but it was closed. In fact it did not seem to open on a regular enough basis to enable a stay to be booked accordingly.I must add though that the restaurant under the hotel on the quayside ( Gonelle, I think) was terrific, the best meal I had in Brittany. To my knowledge this is also owned by the hotel and the marvellous Antoine quickly booked us a table there.

Review 29:It was just as we remembered 30 years ago, remarkable, like staying in a much loved museum. Go there before in changes.

Review 30:Nothing really bad although our room was a 'tad' small. Not much spare room to manoeuvre.

Review 31:Staff could not do enough....always friendly, cheerful and helpful. made us feel part of the family. Antoine especially when our family visited us for afternoon drinks at the hotel (we were at Dinard for a family wedding). Our visitors were so impressed they wished they were staying there!

Review 32:Room was small but adequate. Shame no tea or coffee facilities in the room as there was no vending machines or bar or restaurant when we arrived about 8pm. The staff had emailed the code to go in a side door and left the key and directions to the room in the lobby.

Review 33:The hotel, if you have a sea view, gives you that, a great view of the sea. The hotel is very clean and tidy. Great location to walk to town and the bays and to get buses to other destinations. The room was very quiet even though this was the street side, but maybe because its end of season and wasn't too much traffic or people. going by.

Review 34:learning that the hotel is closed every automn and winter !

Review 35:the 1900 's pure furnishing and architecture hotel ; the sea view from our room the charming breakfast veranda in front of the sea the familial hospitality (the restaurant chief is the founder's grand son)

Review 36:We found the beds too hard for us. Although the breakfast was plentiful, we would have liked a better choice of cereal like muesli and not just cornflakes or coco pops! Wifi was not available in the room.

Review 37:The view from the balcony is just lovely looking out across the water. Amazing sunrise. The room we had (342) was at the top of the hotel and spacious. The bathroom was clean. We were able to park on the road easily for free but there was a garage option for €8. We left our bikes in there. We liked the quirkiness of the hotel.

Review 38:Parking can be hit and miss (no hotel parking). Wifi didn't reach our bedroom.

Review 39:The ambiance and location. A bit faded but great atmosphere. Pay the extra for sea view which is spectacular. The evening meal was excellent. Breakfast buffet good value although seats a bit cramped.

Review 40:This is a good "quirky" old fashioned hotel in an excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, good food in the restaurant, though daily menu did not vary much, excellent views over the estuary of the river Rance and to St Malo. Parking is not easy in high summer so best to reserve with the hotel, although like us you may be lucky and find a space on the street just outside the hotel. We had a street side room as the sea view rooms were fully booked, can be a bit noisy early in the morning, so go for sea view if possible. Would return again.

Review 41:No air conditioning, so room was stuffy unless windows left open, road noise at night interrupted sleep. Very tired by end of 4 night stay! Fairly tired decor and fittings.

Review 42:Size of room and ensuite. Views over the water from the restaurant and coffee lounge.

Review 43:Room was very small. Bathroom a little dated. Smelled like fish around stairs down to restaurant.

Review 44:Right next to the water. Hotel has a lot of character. Especially lobby area, and tea room.

Review 45:As there isn't a lift we had a large number of steps to the bedroom on the third floor.

Review 46:The individual traditional style of the hotel. Excellent position few minutes from the ferry for St. Malo.

Review 47:Absolutely nothing!

Review 48:The fantastic service, excellent food and amazing location.

Review 49:Superb location by the water.

Review 50:Good location to everything on seaside and only brisk walk into town for anything you need and restaurant opposite was fabulous!!!

Review 51:would be nice to have tea/coffee making in the room and bottles of water

Review 52:Typical budget city hotel, in a very good location. Friendly, helpful staff.

Review 53:bit dated

Review 54:location stunning views

Review 55:WI FI can be improved

Review 56:Terrific location, Nice view, helpful staff

Review 57:great location with views of the harbour from the terrace. dinner restaurant fun as waitresses dress in traditional Breton costume.

Review 58:bedrooms overlooking the road are noisy...

Review 59:lovely location

Review 60:We had a room for 4 persons on the top floor. Double windows opening to fantastic view. Staff were very helpful. Would definately return

Review 61:Loved the local feel. Very 'Breton' decors. Loved the food, Loved the location Loved the atmosphere

Review 62:lovely quaint hotel. location. beautiful view from hotel window over the sea.

Review 63:Will need refurbushing

Review 64:The view from the room's balcony

Review 65:Location Friendly staff

Review 66:The Hotel it's self.

Review 67:The view and the area plus the staff.

Review 68:Lovely location and all staff friendly and helpful. Good English spoken generally among key staff.

Review 69:Lovely views and a very comfortable feel to the hotel - love the furnishings.

Review 70:THE ATTITUDE OF THE STAFF

Review 71:Amazing view!

Review 72:Eventually miss a bar / lounge ?

Review 73:Have liked the antiques, cleanliness, particular architecture, dedicated people there.

Review 74:I COULD NOT ACCESS WIFI

Review 75:long trek to room

Review 76:views over bay

Review 77:It was too expensive. Not worth the money. Breakfast not great.

Review 78:This hotel has great character. It's like stepping back in time.

Review 79:Expensive and very dated inside

Review 80:The Location

Review 81:Charm, old fashioned appeal, location, wonderful receptionist called Carine.

Review 82:the bar was very expensive

Review 83:staff were really helpful and friendly - lovely views from breakfast room/bar and fantastic location.

Review 84:Troublesome parking

Review 85:Classic and special hotel. Near nic city centre. Near boat harbour. Visit to neighboring city St.Malo.

Review 86:Breakfast. Very basic

Review 87:Family room was great. Inter connecting rooms with big terrace overlooking sea.

Review 88:- poor breakfast - private parking quite far

Review 89:location old times athmosphere

Review 90:People with suitcases(we didn't have any!) should be aware that this hotel is quirky ...made up of 3 old town houses with very individually sized & decorated rooms (some looked very small!) It has lots of corridors & stairs...with no lift! Also, if like us you are there on a Monday...Beware! The hotel's own restaurant is closed, the restaurant opposite is closed, & the hotel down the road even closes its bar as well as its restaurant on Mondays! The very small restaurant next door to the hotel was open...luckily we had the last table! We could not reserve here as it was closed Monday afternoon when we were desperately seeking restaurants! Best pack sandwiches if you are here on Mondays!! Even the young receptionist at this hotel suggested we go to a restaurant further away in Dinard centre....but that too was closed on Mondays!

Review 91:Position in Dinard, right by sea. But we should perhaps have paid up(quite a bit more!!?) for a room with a sea view. The decor is quirky, the furniture is old fashioned, but we liked that. Wifi was free & worked well.

Review 92:The family room was excellent and the kids loved the quirky bunk beds. We were lucky with on street parking and to be honest did Dinard on foot and other locations by boat.

Review 93:The room was very small- barely room for two people and luggage. The wifi connection in the room was poor.

Review 94:The location was good - could walk into town, sea views from breakfast terrace. The facilities ( though most were closed as we were out of season) seemed comprehensive enough. Staff were pleasant when they were around. We often felt like we were the only people in the hotel.

Review 95:We parked within 50 metres of the hotel, but I would imagine this would not be so easy in high season.

Review 96:The view from the breakfast room is stunning, even in November! The restaurant is deservedly acclaimed for its seafood. The room was pleasantly quaint, and wi-fi was free.

Review 97:We were on the top floor and paid extra for a sea view but the internet would not reach the top of the building and the water was not hot enough to have a shower in the morning!

Review 98:The receptionist was very helpful and the location was excellent. The restaurant was expensive for dinner and also breakfast

Review 99:Lots and lots of stairs, I would never have booked this hotel if I had realised. The rooms overlooking the street were quite noisy.

Review 100:The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. The rooms at the back had great sea views. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 101:The bathroom was dated, shower was a bit pathetic and room was small.I think the restaurant was a bit over priced as food was good but not reaching the high standards the price suggested. It really didnt help when the waiter coughed on my dessert.

Review 102:The bedroom was nice and attractive, and the history of the building contained within furniture , pictures etc gave the place real atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and location was great.

Review 103:The breakfast was a bit expensive so I went to a nearby bakery instead for fresh bread and pastries for a fraction of the price. While paying less for a street view rather than a sea view, the street outside my window was pretty noisy at night.

Review 104:I had a single room and it was the cheapest I could get in Dinard, but I was impressed with its location, style and cleanliness. Staff very friendly - the lady on the front desk showed me up to my room and offered maps and info about the town.

Review 105:The triple room is not suitable for 3 adults, the single bed was far too small, cramped legs every night, one really noisy night 3am moving furniture for over an hour!

Review 106:Decoration is just lovely, so much to look at in the reception and lounge area. Two minute walk to the beach!

Review 107:We had street side room and wish we had upgraded to sea view room. Our fault.

Review 108:Hotel staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Room and bedding was very clean. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.View from breakfast room lovely.

Review 109:Too small sink for washing. The bathroom did not have shampoo and shower gel, liquid soap only, but to use it in the shower uncomfortable. Wi-Fi in the room was not connected.

Review 110:Good location, clean, decoration of rooms, friendly staff

Review 111:We thought that breakfast at 10.50 euros was a bit steep but there was areasonable variety and maybe you pay for the view ! We did not eat inthe hotel but the menu did not look very inventive compared toindependent restaurants that we found on our trip through Brittany, perhaps not fair to make a judgement without having eaten there.

Review 112:The hotel has a kind of old world charm , quite possible to imaginecharacters from the past coming along the corridor. The rude drawingsalong the corridor made us giggle a bit ! The room ( street view) wasfine , old furniture and a very comfy bed. Our initial impression wasthat staff were a bit 'cold' but they were helpful in a nongushing way ! Location is good , nice walks from the hotel and notfar from the town. The breakfast room has lovely views over to StMalo. Worth a visit since it's so different to most ( bland)modern hotels.

Review 113:Receptionist helpful. Location great. English speaking. Free WiFi.

Review 114:Location. Friendliness. Ambience.

Review 115:Beautiful view from the breakfast area!

Review 116:Location on the sea, old fournitures,

Review 117:there is not enough space for in the veranda,

Review 118:the view from the room

Review 119:sound proof could do with improvements

Review 120:love interior and the sea view fantastic food at the restaurant

Review 121:Beautiful old 30s style hotel with lovely views and a great balcony. Breakfast was a joy with a view over the sea and estuary.

Review 122:No soundproofing!!

Review 123:Lovely friendly atmosphere and friendly helpful staff.

Review 124:Nothing

Review 125:The view on Saint Malo The proximity to to Dinard Town Centre
