Reviews for Comfort Hotel Saintes

Review 1:Nothing bad. The private car park was un-monitored but seemed very safe.

Review 2:The hotel is easy to find & situated in a commercial/industrial area. The staff were very, very helpful & the room was comfortable though a little 'tired' looking. Bathroom facility was good with a shower that worked well. WiFi was fairly good in our room. The hotel is very good for a 'stop-over' if touring. Numerous restaurants nearby, some within walking distance.

Review 3:The flatscreen TV is rather small. A few foreign channels would be nice.

Review 4:Verry friendly receptionist. Nice room with a verry good bed. The breakfast was ok.

Review 5:We had GPS, trying to find it from paper maps would be difficult. No gate to lock on parking at night.

Review 6:There was a very good value restaurant within walking distance. We got a voucher which entitled us to a 10% discount.

Review 7:A warm welcome was given on arrival and we were taken to our room which was very large for the four of us. The decor was a little dated but the room was clean & comfortable. It also had tea & coffee making facilities which is more unusual in France!

Review 8:Excellent manager. Could not have been more helpful. We stay for one night every year and this is our third visit. Would recommend this hotel as one of the best we have stayed in.

Review 9:Lack of outdoor seating, space was available that could be used.

Review 10:Location for overnight stop. No restaurant , but discount offered at a nearby restaurant . Large car park. Would use again.

Review 11:Breakfast could have been better for the price that was paid, it does not really accommodate a uk traveler.

Review 12:excellent location, close to the motorway, ideal for a stop off point for further travel next day. Staff were very helpful and obliging.

Review 13:Ensuite shower was a little unusual with just a curtain to separate it from the main bedroom, though acceptable.

Review 14:Large comfy beds and plenty of space. Visited the local restaurant just a short walk away which was ideal for families.

Review 15:Nothing; it was great.

Review 16:The staff were brilliant; very attentive and very happy! We were recommended to go to eat at the Poivre Rouge (10% off); which was great and only 100 metres from the hotel!

Review 17:My wife and I did not have any complaints. As aforementioned we found the experience very relaxing after driving from Caen.

Review 18:The reception was top class with the staff (who spoke English) exuding an easy confidence in their ability.Nothing phased them and they created a very relaxed atmosphere.

Review 19:Breakfast should have been included.

Review 20:Easy to get to, comfortable, clean and quiet. At first, Saintes had nothing to recommend it, then we got into the old town and the distinctive cathedral.

Review 21:We use this hotel just as a stop-over when travelling from A to B. Close to the motorway but no discernible noise, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are very clean, comfortable reasonable size & added bonus of tea & coffee making facilities. Good parking. Situated on a small industrial estate so probably not ideal for "holiday" accommodation but great for breaking a long journey.

Review 22:A bit out of the way of town but not a bad walk via a Roman amphitheatre.

Review 23:Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Providing us with tea and milk, while fixing the electrics!

Review 24:Nothing

Review 25:Stayed here on two separate occasions in two weeks, very friendly and helpful receptionist. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were clean, and well equipped. Good location for Autoroute. No meal available but reasonable chain restaurant 5 minutes walk away & hotel gives a discount voucher. Good value for money.

Review 26:Led to believe there was a restaurant, but it was closed. Could have caused problems had weather not been dry so able to go to local restaurant.

Review 27:Friendly person on reception, very helpful in making sensible suggestions regarding eating at local restaurant. Room was adequate for the price.

Review 28:Our Satnav found the location confusing as did we! The duvets are too thick and are unnecessary. We had to have the air con on as a result.

Review 29:Reception staff were excellent, helpful and charming. Arnaud even booked a table at a local restaurant called le Cargo which was great.

Review 30:The Hotel did not serve food in the evening but they pointed us in the direction of a good restaurant and also supplied us with vouchers for a discount.

Review 31:Easy to locate off the AutoRoute About 30 minute walk from town centre meant easy parking and good location for travelling to different places Really friendly place to stay in The managers were so nice and helpful and I cant say enough about their attitude and friendliness towards me Room was airy quite and the facilities worked Staying there really made my holiday

Review 32:The strange square pillows, I took forever to drop off to sleep

Review 33:If you are transiting along the A10 this is a good hotel for an overnight stay, nothing spectacular but no real complaints either.

Review 34:- On arrival was welcomed with by manager who was extemely helpful. - Offered to ring around restaurants to see where was still open. - Had already set-up the baby cot in the room - Breakfast was excellent and great value. €8 for each adult and €8 for all 3 kids.

Review 35:Can't think of anything!

Review 36:We stayed here for an overnight stop on the way to the south west of France. It was perfect! The manager rang the day before to check ages of the children as he was planning which room to put us in (speaks excellent English). We were in a family room which consisted of a double room with a small adjourning room with full size bunk beds - a great size for a family with teenagers. Room was clean, had air con and wifi! We walked into Saintes to eat which took 20mins ish! The manager was really helpful giving us directions which took us past the ampitheatre. All in all a great place for a stopover. Can't comment on breakfast as we decided to set of early and eat on route.

Review 37:Internet connection didn't work with the code provided, but we didn't pursue the issue with reception as we were too busy enjoying the lovely spot.

Review 38:HUGE Family room had v large double bed (felt like king size!) and 2xsingle beds (which were far over on the opposite side of the room). This was an ideal room for parents travelling with 2x teen boys who love their own space. Although located in an industrial area, hotel surroundings were leafy green and very clean everywhere. Reception staff recommended a brilliant grill-type restaurant (Poivron Rouge) within 5min walk. Excellent breakfast buffet included cereal, choice of breads, meats, cheeses, yoghurts, and fresh apricots. Feels like a family-run hotel, reception staff very attentive and warm welcome. Thank you for a lovely welcome!

Review 39:Smelly Room. Soulless building.Sometimes I felt that I was the only person in the building especially when reception closes and all the doors are locked.

Review 40:Very quite because I was staying Saturday night and as it is located in a commercial estate almost everything was closed. I was on the ground floor. All these rooms have doors to the open. This suited me as I could let my dogs go directly out without going through the hotel.

Review 41:. Nowhere near any local places to eat in the evening. Breakfast very very basic. carparking not secure atall, I had reason to go down to my car early hours of the morning, only to find that a family of 4 were sleeping in the doorway, and the carpark had a few vehicles coming and going, so PLEASE LEAVE NOTHING ON VIEW IN THE CAR,

Review 42:We had already upgraded to a superior room, had a bolcony to relax in the evening.

Review 43:The room was very, very small. The promised Wi-Fi was hit and miss in the room but good in the foyer.

Review 44:The hotel was close to the city centre and the staff were helpful.

Review 45:There was nothing I didn't like. It's a good stopover hotel and location but I wouldn't be booking it for a romantic weekend or holiday stay.
