Reviews for Hôtel Les Bruyères

Review 1:Very noisy at all times: we were located on the 8th floor just under the restaurant, every day we were woken up with the noise from upstairs (you could even exactly hear that chairs upstairs are being moved) which you cannot ignore. Same noise in the evening. We asked for the different room but the manager said he could not do anything ( we were there for 10 nights...)Also, the noise from the road is very bad: hotel is situated next to the very busy road to Val Thorens where traffic passes at all times. Then, all the hotel is a little old fashined, rooms are very small, equipment used off (we had to be carefull that the shower did not fall out all the time when showering)...the cleaning could be better: soap, shampoo not filled, sometimes no towels. Also bar is little boring. Do not take taxi to village center:for one minute drive from the hotel to the Les Menuites La croissette the taxi driver ( which hotel called for us and they would not know how much it is) charged us 18 Euro which is total rip off ... For price/ quality it was bad deal.

Review 2:The view was nice, pretty close to the lifts

Review 3:Very nice staf. Good location 30 sec walk to Bruyeres lift, From that lift you have very good access to every mountain at the 3 vallees. Nice breakfast. Quite area.

Review 4:Check in very late Check out a long time Cleaning up the room late afternoon Small rooms even the superior room Drinks are expensive

Review 5:close to the ski slopes nice kitchen very friendly people; Hugo and Sophie...

Review 6:Nice room with very large double bed. Very close to the slopes. After ski cookies, hot chocolate and hot wine, for hotel guests next to the ski-lockers

Review 7:Can't comain about anything

Review 8:Wicked for location, especially if you have a couple of little moaners who get tired easily, we had moan a minute with us and gismo who turns as soon as he gets tired, luckily where it's located with everything on tap we had a lovely holiday with no moans and got maximum slope time

Review 9:No drop off parking area. No parking in near distance. Driver should drop off one oerson then take the car to the lower area and park. Then the person that he left must open the door from the inside to the rest of the family

Review 10:Comfort room. Showers. Goos sauna

Review 11:1. poor breakfasts. Constantly small variety of meal. No omelets, just scrammbled eggs. No fresh pressed juices, just packet ones. 2. No place at all and driers for ski-boots in the ski-room

Review 12:Location is just in 1 min to 2 skilifts; helpful, polite and friendly staff; comfortable rooms with kettles; technical condition of room's equipment;Bathroom accessories by Bogner(!!!). These are all of top level. And of course welcoming cakes and drinks(hot wine or hot chocolate) after the skiing - are very nice and pleasant.

Review 13:Nothing bad to report, all good

Review 14:Loved the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, the location beside the slope/main Gondola, the excellent value, the free car parking outside

Review 15:Breakfast is steep at 15 euros pp but we walked out to the boulangerie and had breakfast there.

Review 16:Superb location - walk right out onto the pistes. Staff couldn't be nicer and more helpful.

Review 17:The lifts kept malfunctioning on 3 separate days despite a repair team coming out- might need replacing. The room had no drawers to store belongings in. Nowhere to hang damp ski clothes. Tiny bath. Poor ski lockers-- no boot drying facility.

Review 18:Very quiet and peaceful. Good breakfast.

Review 19:Small rooms Lack of attention to small details (i.e. Empty tissue box)

Review 20:Restaurant & quality of food Welcoming staff Excellent location Lovely bar

Review 21:There was a constant electrical humming sound which prevented me from having a single decent nights sleep in the whole week. No idea what it was, but I assume it's not the same in all rooms and I was just unlucky. Reception kindly provided earplugs but they didn't help too much

Review 22:Great breakfast Great location

Review 23:The fitness was really dissapointing. You couldn't call it a fitness. The wifi wasn't connecting all the time. It recently went off so it costed me a lot of mb's. The snacks at the lounge in the evening were really bad, There was not enough choice. The European television channels weren't there. We would have liked the possibility of listening to some music at the room. We would have loved it to have another chair at the balcony and some pillows. There was one chair and it was a room for 3. The locker for the ski's was really small. There wouldn't have been room for 3 pair.

Review 24:The location was great. We could Walk a few steps outside the hotel and we were at the piste. We loved the fire in the lounge. The employees of the hotel were really kind and friendly. The rooms were really clean and the personnel respected our privacy. The fridge was good. The save was easy to use. Breakfast was well organised and enough choice. It was a relaxing and beautifull stay.

Review 25:Many young couples with small children can afford skiing only if grandparents step in financially and actually escorting kids to ski school. Walks for elderly people are not well indicated and tourist offices are not helpful in explaining how they can be reached. Superior room too small for third bed (child 4 years old).

Review 26:The environment is superb.

Review 27:Disrupted night's sleep as room on 2nd floor was close to the road where a snow plough was working through the night - but at least we had fresh snow for the next day! Standard twin rooms are quite small for 2 adults.

Review 28:Location at the foot of the piste. Just a very short walk to the travelator to get started in the mornings. Lovely open log fire in the bar. Comfortable beds. Good breakfasts. Close to at least 4 good restaurants for evening meals

Review 29:The lifts are the big problem with this hotel. There is not enough capacity, one was broken and the doors of the working one shut with a very loud bang meaning I had to change rooms as the noise was so bad. Avoid the rooms which are right in the lift lobby, numbers x06 x07 and x08

Review 30:Rooms, bed, balcony, bathrooms, breakfast, bar, location are all excellent, Staff also resolved my problem with a noisy room very well

Review 31:Would have been nice if there were ski boot dryers in the locker area.

Review 32:The hotel is ski in/ski out, a great location and well run with nice rooms, good food and very helpful staff.

Review 33:The breakfast is too simple, should be integrated in room charge.

Review 34:Lovely cosy hotel, very helpful staff, incredibly engaged and dedicated manager! I would definitely go back!

Review 35:We would have preferred longer pool hours.

Review 36:The staff was amazing. They went out of their way to help us with several issue we were having not related to the resort. The location is just steps away from the ski area, restaurants, grocery and shopping, and is in a central location, with easy access to all 7 ski resorts.

Review 37:Lack of anything to do in the hotel or in Bruyeres

Review 38:It really is ski in, ski out. Good facilities generally

Review 39:Ski room is not big enough.

Review 40:Location was excellent. Hotel staff are nice and friendly.

Review 41:Reasonably priced ski-hotel with good facilities and bang on the slopes

Review 42:Only stayed a couple of nights and it was early in the season but it was Excellent value for money and staff were extremely friendly and helpfull

Review 43:Had a room for 3 and very small. 2 people would have been ideal Breakfast expensive

Review 44:Bar Pool table

Review 45:Location Slopes access

Review 46:nothing bad

Review 47:location

Review 48:Ski locker room cramped. Noise from upstairs room till late.

Review 49:Very helpful staff

Review 50:Amazing location for skiing. Lovely staff and facilities were good

Review 51:Perfect ski-in, ski-out location. Nice restaurants in the area.

Review 52:Service

Review 53:Excellent location to the village and easy access to and from the piste.

Review 54:breakfirst

Review 55:Service, Location

Review 56:Not much going on in les bruyeres, probably because of the lack of snow, not a cuss on the hotel at all

Review 57:Very stylish, comfortable, well-equipped hotel

Review 58:Overall it was good value for money and an enjoyable stay. If we must find thing to improve, we didn't like: - not having a vegetarian option on the dinner menu (one of us is vegetarian, which meant we couldn't dine at the hotel) - no heating in the very small ski lockers - we had to take our boots to dry in our rooms.

Review 59:The hotel was very well located, close to the slopes, and staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved the stylish and comfy bar area where we could relax after a long day skiing with good music and the warmth from the fire place. Internet speed was excellent.

Review 60:Nothing to not like.

Review 61:Great location, very helpful and friendly staff. The room was of a very good standard and very clean. We only stayed one night becuase we were on our way to Val Thorens, but if we were going earlier in the year I would recommend this hotel as an excellent base for a week in the Three Valley's.

Review 62:Swimming pool closed, but wasn't aware of this when we booked. Expensive food so we ate out

Review 63:Comfy beds, plenty of space in room (for a ski resort). Lovely bar Dressing gown and slippers in rooms

Review 64:No parking available during the journey, no information about parking when booking, parking far away down the hill with all ski stuff. Official website les Bruyeres tells this is a 4 stars hotel whereas it is a 3 stars, restaurant full during the journey, poor and expensive breakfast.

Review 65:Room service is too late when were already back from skiing. Could be more cheeses for breakfast.

Review 66:Excellent ski-in ski-out location in the heart of Three Valleys region. Very good restaurant for dinner a-la-carte. Comfortable room. This was our second time in this hotel.

Review 67:Room was a little small, breakfast was expensive. Booking.com adverrised a pool on their website but it was closed this year

Review 68:Location was great for ski school and slopes, free loan of helmet and goggles, good bar

Review 69:Can't think of anything I could say that would be bad about the hotel, the services it provides and the people who deliver them.

Review 70:Really kind, efficient and helpful staff and Director. I cannot fault these people on any level. It is a rare occurrence when all of these elements come together at once. Don't be afraid to try this hotel if you look forward to first class service, attention to detail, good food and friendly faces. The food served is also of good standard and the cleanliness was much appreciated. I very much look forward to treat myself to another stay

Review 71:Location poor. Room basic, only 2 english channels on satellite tv, hotel a little shabby in parts.

Review 72:Staff were very good, friendly and helpful. Liked the steam room which was excellent after hard day skiing.

Review 73:Room was not ready during our arrival. We got the keys, entered the room but it was dirty. We had to wait, even though by this time of check-in room had to be ready. No hot water in the room, and it was not informed on website during booking or during check-in. Hot water appeared after we shouted on them and next morning we had hot water.

Review 74:Location is good, overall hotel is big, there is sauna, restaurant. Staff is trying to be good, presented a bottle of champaigne as we had to wait for a clean room

Review 75:Very few criticisms, but if I had to mention a couple - 1/ the skiroom got very congested at times; 2/ there was a strange smell inthe corridor on the 2nd floor where we were.

Review 76:Good location with ski-in / ski-out, local shop across the road, skihire across the road and many good restaurants within 5 mins walk. Alsovery comfortable and excellent value. The pen fire in the bar was also awelcome spot for s drink.

Review 77:Not cheap - especially the bar not obvious where stairs are

Review 78:friendly atmosphere, good facilities. Good to have interconnecting rooms. Great bar on top floor. Pool table a hit with 9 year old son!

Review 79:the ski locker room facilities were very bad - too cramped and nowhere to dry boots. This really needs changing to make a bigger room and places to dry boots

Review 80:the service was excellent

Review 81:Les Bruyères is not the best area of Les Menuires

Review 82:Very close to the slopes They let us keep one out of our 2 rooms until6pm on the departure day as one of us was injured

Review 83:The room was at the level of the road, everyone could see in the room, we had to keep curtains closed (no opportunity to have some sun in the room)

Review 84:3 adult room was small for 3 adult skiers with equipment. There was only 2 of us and it was crowded. Ski locker rm is well located on the way to the slopes but lockers only accomodate 3 pairs of skis max (no ski boots rack).

Review 85:Excellent Ski in - ski out location with plenty of options to start your day. Great staff with good command of English. Easy access to shops, bars, restaurants, bakery, grocery store, tourist office, disco (all right accross the street) or to down town Les Menuires (free 10 min bus ride). Some night life walking distance to hotel. Steam/sauna & fitness rms are some what small but well appointed. Fridge in the rm allows you to bring food for breakfast. Nice hotel bar setup.

Review 86:Spa is tiny so wouldn't really bother. Pillows on bed have never been so uncomfortable, bring my own next time. Room needed a paint but was fine in general.

Review 87:Location location location. Staff could get us ski passes and easy hire ski shop outside front door.

Review 88:Hotel doesnt cost its price at all: 1.Most room windows face road where buses, cars, tractors etc. start to move right from early morning. 2. Avoid living on the 8th floor (though spa room here) as the restaurant on the 9th one. Footfall also contributes to morning noise. 3. Absolutely tiny hotel room, sauna, steam bath (plastic one), ski room ( no warming for ski boots). Besides, some days, spa room is either cleaning or painting in time when it is most needed. 4. Swimming pool at reconstruction 5. Wi-fi requires re-logining when not using for about half hour (annoying), but speed is ok. 6. Many other less important problems

Review 89:Nice personal

Review 90:The once monthly cleaning of the Sauna and Ham-man occurred the Monday we were there. Shame also about the swimming pool being close for repairs.

Review 91:Hotel reception very helpful, knowledgeable and carried the bag in. Will certainly visit again.

Review 92:Hotel is located near the road to Val Thorens, rather noisy at night.Breakfast offers small variety and average food. Ski room offers onlyski storage space. Restaurant staff poorly speaks English. Dinner is nota good value (small portions with average quality), but there areseveral restaurants nearby.

Review 93:Good location very close to slopes and ski lift. Ski bus stop at frontof the hotel.

Review 94:breakfast litle bit overpriced, spa (sauna) really small (four people and it's full)

Review 95:Nice room, great location right at the ski-lifts, friendly staff

Review 96:Breakfast not worthy of cost. 1 exercise bike as only gym facility in that standard of hotel very poor. For $240 euros a night well over priced.

Review 97:Service and location, great staff

Review 98:Breakfast was poor. Tried once and then went to the cafes nearby for the rest of the stay.

Review 99:Great location, right on the pists. Room could use some referb, but are fine. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 100:No room service (not even tea or coffee) - this is quite annoying during the busy season when there are no facilities in the room to heat up water and considering the fact that the bar is closed until 3pm.

Review 101:Good quality (clean) hotel and friendly staff.

Review 102:Perfect location, relatively quiet compared to other area hotels (weasked for a quiet room). Bus shuttle steps away which takes you to theother local villages (Val Thorens, Meribel etc.). Balcony in room andseparate storage area for ski equipment for each room. It was one ofthe few hotels available in the area when we booked a last minute tripfor last week in December 2012 and we were pleasantly surprised. It wasour first trip to the 3 valleys and we would definitely stay at thishotel again.

Review 103:Staff need to be better informed about local information E.G. publictransport. Room was too hot at night even with heating turned off.

Review 104:Excellent location near to the slopes and local shops and restaurants.Comfortable stay, staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 105:The food on the hotel restaurant is very poor and quite expensive. We decided to take our breakfast in one of the pubs&terases located near the hotel. For dinner there are a lot of options arround.

Review 106:This hotel is located exacltly at the end of the slopes and you can jump from the skies directly in the hotel bar. Personnel is very frendly and almost all of them are speking good english and they are ready to help all the time.

Review 107:The spa was very small. The breakfast was expensive for what you got Skiroom was tiny

Review 108:The location was great, just next to the slopes The room was really nice (cosy, modern design, seperate toilet, Good shower) Dinner was good

Review 109:The swiming pool doesn't have direct access from hotel. But is very closed.

Review 110:The location was great, with direct access to sky. Is also very closed to the main restaurants and shops. The hotel facilities are also very good.

Review 111:I felt that the breakfasts were a little on the expensive side at 16 euros so we didn't have them.

Review 112:I stayed with a friend for a short ski break 26 - 29 March 2012. Excellent hotel, I particularly liked the genuine ski in - ski out facility from the 10th floor ski locker area (confusing at first until you realise the hotel is built into the hill.) Extremely pleasant and helpful staff with good language skills. Nice, well furnished and clean room with large balcony. Good value for money for a hotel of this quality.

Review 113:Staff exceptionally friendly, perfect location: 200 meters from thepiste. Make sure you get a room on one of the higher levels to benefitfrom the mountain view. Rooms are chalet-like and warm. Croissants arescrumptious at breakfast.

Review 114:One of the 2 lifts was out of action for the whole of our stay althoughit was being worked on.

Review 115:Great hotel very close to the slopes, ski hire and ski school.

Review 116:restaurant food is not great but pricy, rooms a bit small.

Review 117:Helpful staff, nice and clean rooms with balcony. Very easy access to the slopes and the ski school.

Review 118:rooms are a bit small, shared a double superior room with my two children and it felt cramped not a lot of wardrobe space for three people with normal and ski clothes. The spare bed mattress was solid, asked hotel if they could change it but nothing available.

Review 119:Good location ski in Ski out. Good choice for breakfast.

Review 120:Although the hotel had a spa it was totally booked up for the few dayswe were there which was disappointing, the hotel room was too hot atnight and we were unable to turn the heat down.

Review 121:It is in a perfect location for door step skiing and access to themassive 3 Valleys ski region, the hotel rooms and communal areas aredecorated well and the hotel has a spa and access to the area swimmingpool, it is situated in a lovely village with a relaxed atmosphere!

Review 122:The Hamann could benefit from a eucalyptus aroma, it smelt a bit sweaty. A bit more insulation on the windows/door to the balcony. Two lifts operating.

Review 123:All the staff were great.

Review 124:We were on the 8th floor, just below reception and you can hear all the time people walking and dragging suitcases. The swimming pool is on a distance from the hotel, so it's only for the brave once to go out and walk 5minutes in swimming suits in -15C.

Review 125:very convinient for dki trips - you walk out and you are right on the slopes. Nice and clean rooms, friendly staff, beautiful views from the rooms.

Review 126:Great location with ski in and out and restaurants on the door step.Resort is v quiet with limited après ski but that would be my onlycomplaint.....and not the hotels fault!

Review 127:Firstly, this hotel is in the most fantastic location with a courtesybus stopping right outside. The staff are so calm and friendly andnothing is too much trouble. The interior is classic contemporary, clean, relaxing and very comfortable! The view that we had from ourroom was absolutely amazing, just stretches of snowy mountainscontrasting with the clear blue sky. The amenities were also spot on,especially the outside pool! We didn't eat in the restaurant because wesadly were only there for two nights, but the menu looked lovely andvery well priced. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a warmand friendly retreat up in the mountains. The only down side is that Ididn't want to leave:(!

Review 128:Overpriced hotel restaurant. Breakfest for 16EUR, HB 46EUR, while there is a plenty of better options 200m around hotel.

Review 129:Excellent location, 50m from hotellift you are on the ski-slope.

Review 130:Able to publish in Russian at least instructions for clients. If at this point will be Russian hotel or cafe in the winter, they will tired of customers.

Review 131:Don't buy your ski pass at the hotel reception desk. We were sold thewrong pass (les m only instead of 3v) and only found out the next daywhen I was trying to enter a lift. It cost me a lot of frustration, walking up the mountain on skis and one full day of skiing to correctthe error the receptionist made. I was very upset. The hotel staffcouldn't care less.

Review 132:Efficient, good location, ok breakfast, very good value for money.

Review 133:deposit ski
