Reviews for Château de la Tremblaye

Review 1:We used this as a base for the Puy du Fou, a must for kids, as it was 15 mins away. It is not absolute luxury but the grounds, the look of the chateau and the restaurant make up for the slightly worn feel to the massive rooms. The food is exceptional and reasonably priced and worth the stay alone.

Review 2:Everything! Fabulous suite...Colonial theme. Wonderful food in charming dining room. The owner Alison was most welcoming and helpful. Would love to return.

Review 3:Stairs for older less mobile

Review 4:Beautiful chateau - a little run down close up but to be expected. The staff were lively. The pool fab. The best thing was the dinner - we took photos as presentation was outstanding and the taste was just as goid

Review 10:Loved the peaceful settings it hits sense of history. Children enjoyed the pool , which was of a very pleasing warm temperature. The star of the show had to be the evening meal ( owners are ex chefs from the QE II) ..... Absolutely outstanding and excellent value for money.

Review 11:Very dark in the night... maybe a little too dark... Makes a bit of a scary atmosphere... But for horror lovers.... perfect...

Review 12:We enjoyed staying in the castle... Kids were very impressed.. Not many guests at the time when we were there... so we had a feeling of having a castle for us... Nice swiming pool with a magnificent view on the castle...

Review 13:The quality of the dining was excellent. Superb table service and a very high standard of food. The chef is the owner of 14 years and an amazing one at that. The room we stayed in was enormous too, with stunning views of the Chateau's land.

Review 14:Very friendly welcome

Review 15:The bedroom,quiet location

Review 16:great stay in a fab castle

Review 17:Lovely secluded grounds and pool. Excellent meal.

Review 18:No tea making facilities in room. Wifi password not provided on room info sheet - you have to go and ask for it.

Review 19:Historic prescence of the hotel.

Review 20:- The historic setting and grand interiors - the fantastic food in the restaurant - the outdoor pool

Review 21:No tea and milk in bedrooms

Review 22:Swimming Pool Restaurant - children's menu Room Sizes and Bathroom Check-out times Rural location

Review 23:Food in the restaurant was excellent

Review 24:Excellent dinner beautifully presented and well up to the old high standards of French cuisine. Our compliments to the chef and front of house staff.

Review 25:The building should be better conserved... the apartment is old, the floor is sunk and the external facade looks outworn... after 10pm there is nobody working there and i have the feeling of being in a terror movie... scared!!

Review 26:experience to live in a Castle.. The restaurant has a good menu and also it is tasteful. The external environment is great.

Review 27:Beds very "Hard" and rooms basic. Not enough staff No fridge No air-conditioning. Lots of stairs and no lift. The suite is suitable for family of 4 but we were not informed that it had 2 double beds in separate rooms, consequently we paid more than was necessary. I think that this is an on-going restoration labour of love and the Chateau is beautiful but you wouldn't want to stay more than a couple of nights at most. Expensive and fulfilled our requirements for our visit but if you want comfort then this is not the place. Our visit was to see the Puys de Fou and I wanted my family to stay in a Chateau just to do something different but next time I'm going to select the comfort!

Review 28:The food was "out of this world", very tasty and really unbelievable. Staff very friendly and spoke English Attractive views of the Chateau and surroundings. Décor inside reflects the original period. Pool was inviting but a little cold!

Review 29:While we had 2 bedrooms & a communal bathroom, the rooms were fairlybasic. The price of £153.06 for one night without dinner or breakfastwas on the high side.

Review 30:Efficient, informed staff. The manageress spoke excellent English.Impressive chateau, in rural location, yet close to main routes. Iwould return.
