Reviews for Hotel Bellevue

Review 1:Lots of stairs to reach some of the rooms, although staff are willing to help. Check room location, if this is an issue for you.

Review 2:Very helpful and friendly staff, and walking distance to village.

Review 3:We arrived on the last train from Paris, which was running very late, and the manager took the initiative to come and pick us up at the station without us having asked. There are not so many places that would go to so much trouble. Very much appreciated!!

Review 4:Near a busy - ish road that creates some noise for the rooms at the front (that ironically have the nice views of the bay) although it's not too bad.

Review 5:Friendly staff, breakfast on the terrasse, close location to the beach.

Review 6:Wifi was free but slow & comber some. Mind you I found this to be the case everywhere that I stayed in France!

Review 7:Good location a short walk away from the harbour andain beach. Hotel was clean and our room modernised . Staff were friendly & helpful.

Review 8:The pillows could be a bit firmer. The hotel is relatively close to a (single lane) road, so you'll have to close the window at the end of the night if the little traffic in the morning disturbs. Please note however that the sound insulation is really good.

Review 9:The mattress: firm and comfortable The friendliness and availability of staff The daily cleaning, the hotel is perfectly kept The view on the bay

Review 10:We stayed at Hotel Bellvue for one night. We were very happy with the accomodation. The room was large, with a modern bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a short walk to Hendaye Beach.

Review 11:. Bathroom very small. No hooks for towels etc. Room no air con. Road noise with window open, Breakfast not extensive but OK, No bar open, door closed early evening and access by back door code. Building looks shabby and general areas need attention, e.g. paint peeling on restaurant windows. Appears there are several staff members who deal with reception and breakfast, no continuity.

Review 12:Bedroom modern, good view

Review 13:One small suggestion would be to have black out lining on the curtains as the room was very light in the morning, however not a big problem, everything else was perfect.

Review 14:Easy to find, friendly staff, local facilities all nearby, comfortable room, breakfast small but adequate,

Review 15:Nothing to complain about.

Review 16:Very homely, with gentle wooden floors and staircase and nice sitting area and breakfast restaurant. Staff paid attention to special requests and provided additional heating in the bedroom. Nice view and close proximity to an excellent restaurant where we ate well for not too much, the Odyssey.

Review 17:Very poor and unfriendly service. I arrived after a 12 hour train journey from Spain and find the doors closed at 9.30 p.m. The hotel staff member opened the door but did not allow me to use the facilities at all. He could not wait to go home. Would definitely not recommend this one

Review 18:None.

Review 19:In order to have a room with a view you have to be on the road side of the hotel. Although there is double glazing there is no air conditioning so we had to make a choice between having open windows to cool down and putting up with traffic noises - or keeping the windows closed which cut out the sound almost completely but made the room incredibly hot.

Review 20:The view from our room, over the water, was really lovely. The hotel is run by a very nice couple who make you feel at home, we had our 4 month old son with us and they made a particular effort to ensure we had everything we needed.

Review 21:The room was very small, very poorly laid out and more importantly, there was an overpowering smell of disinfectant that even with the tiny window open, we could not avoid. Seemed to come from bathroom drains. When we told the owner the next morning he said 'well, you asked for a quiet room!'

Review 22:Location, reception was friendly.

Review 23:Be aware - proposed breakfast is absolutely French one (ie there no Mediterranean dishes size)

Review 24:Location, atmosphere, staff very helpful & friendly, hotel appearance was great.

Review 25:Everything was GREAT!

Review 26:We were so impressed with the staff who waited for us when we arrived late, drove us to the restaurants area so we could eat a late dinner, offered to drive us to train station following morning and brought the breakfast (fantastic pastries) to our room in the morning so we could enjoy our balcony. We have been to many, many hotels but this was far one of the greatest we've been to thanks to the kindness and thoughtfulness of the owners.

Review 27:Good location, clean and with friendly staff. The breakfast was good with a limited but decent selection.

Review 28:Near to the harbour

Review 29:View and location

Review 30:Long walk to get to anything to see or do. Tiny bathroom and shower

Review 31:Decent hotel for the price. Breakfast was good in a nice room.

Review 32:Very friendly staff. Clean facilities. Good location, only a short walk from shops/restaurants/beach etc

Review 33:Lots of street noise & light. Hotel entry closes after 8pm & you have to walk up a dark hill behind the hotel to get in.

Review 34:The hotel was located very far away from any restaurants.

Review 35:Staff were lovely

Review 36:Located in a quiet part of town but close to the beautiful beach. Beautiful view onto the bay and the Spanish coast.

Review 37:Very hot and noisy room

Review 38:Close to the beach, about 15 min walking

Review 39:Ideal place to start the Rain Pyraneen route. Staff very helpful and pleasant. No problem accommodating bicycles.

Review 40:Rooms have plenty of character. Reception staff helpful and pleasant. Good location for beaches, cafes etc.

Review 41:Nothing

Review 42:Friendly staff. Good sized room.

Review 43:Hendaye dead in winter. Bathroom grubby and freezing. Only one restaurant found.

Review 44:Owners very helpful. No pets not a problem as they sleep in the car.

Review 45:Bedroom was excellent....large and airy

Review 46:No balcony, no elevator

Review 47:Staff, clean

Review 48:We were offered coffee when we check out in the early morning.

Review 49:weather....not really the hotel's fault!

Review 50:Location...close to town and beaches and with a great view over the river to Spain.

Review 51:No lift, only French-style breakfast (croissants + coffee).

Review 52:Good location, nice view over the estuary, modern furniture in the room, free parking.

Review 53:None

Review 54:Location and friendliness of staff. Excellent breakfast

Review 55:The room was clean and comfortable, the view was beautiful and only a short stroll down to the main beach. We left early so we didn't have breakfast. It was perfect for our one night stop on the way to Spain.

Review 56:We did not have breakfast as it costed 7 euros more per person, which would have made the price a bit too high for one night.

Review 57:It's well located. Good value for money considering that accommodation in Hendaia is rather expensive. The room was big and comfortable, with a nice balcony.

Review 58:They asked me to change the room for the second day which was not really an effort for me. The bathroom in the second room lacked a shower door and seemed not to be all ready. But actually that did not really affect the stay.

Review 59:Nice location. Very good breakfast. Flexibel entry with code. And Ali was really nice to bring me to the station in the morning. 100% recommendable.

Review 60:One small detail: Blanket on the bed was just a bit too narrow.

Review 61:Very nice and well run hotel; breakfasts are awesome, bread, croissants, pastry, different types of jam, juice. Hotel location is excellent, 10 minute walk to the beach. Owner and staff attentive and professional, great value for money. Will come back.

Review 62:No plug to charge my IPhone But gentleman kindly charged my IPhone at teceptikn

Review 63:Lovely gentleman in charge , very helpfull Nice seaside hotel Rooms very compact but good

Review 64:The only downside was not the hotel but the fact that we really struggled to get an evening meal close by.

Review 65:We used this hotel as a stopover when travelling back to UK. The gentleman on reception was great, easy to talk to and very helpful. He could see that my wife had a mobility problem and asked if we would like a lower room which he immediately arranged for us. The breakfast was great and far better than some we have had in France. We would definitely book here again and although we are not panning to drive again back to the UK we would like to spend some time sightseeing in this area

Review 66:Up steps/stairs access with several doors - very small room and minute en-suite - chaotic breakfast, late starting and a single person trying to serve all residents AND man reception/payments - it could be SO MUCH BETTER. Quite tired and the price is only justified by the location.

Review 67:Good location, easy parking, friendly member of staff/?owner

Review 68:Rooms - tiny, shower - not if you are over 160 cm tall, (5'4") breakfast mediocre at best compared to other places and expensive, they don't accept cash for the room (even though on booking it says you can pay cash).

Review 69:location

Review 70:Took me a while to find, though this was my map-reading

Review 71:Close to the bay,; helpful owner; good breakfast (with his own rose-petal jam); affiliated restaurant good for dinner.

Review 72:Staff were great - very friendly and genuine

Review 73:You cant beat old fashion service. Friendly ,clean and tidy .

Review 74:Spoke English. Good breakfast. Comfortable and quite. Helpful.

Review 75:A wonderful male host, friendly and helpful. It is close to the water with a nice promenade to walk along.

Review 76:Staff courtesy Cleanliness

Review 77:Great location, fantastic staff and excellent breakfast! Great hotel.

Review 78:Receptionist had no knowledge of where local restaurants could be found!

Review 79:Very friendly staff. Comfortable, clean bed. Quiet.

Review 80:The shower did not have a soap holder.

Review 81:The staff helpful. Location great. Good breakfast.
