Hotel Hostal Spa Empúries sells fast on our site. Empúries is in a restored building overlooking the Mediterranean from a secluded beach. It is located near Empurias Archeological Site, and is a 5-minute drive from L’Escala on the Costa Brava.

Review 1：The room was excellent - a huge bed - and the hotel is almost on the beach with superb views and beautiful country walks around Roman ruins and ancient villages. But probably the best feature is the restaurant; I've stayed at 5 star hotels in the UK and have never been served food as good as this: organic, mostly home grown and cooked to a very high standard. If I were a rich man, I'd become a resident.

Review 2：Staff at breakfast were the only let down. A conference came in and they couldn't cope. A disappointing end to an otherwise great stay

Review 6：I was travelling with my 89 year-old-mother so important to say that access into the bath/shower was rather impossible for my mother and the taps, albeit modern and clever, rather confusing. Because the breakfast isn't cheap, fresh orange juice would have been nice and a cooked option. The kitchen staff are helpful but very serious. A few more smiles would make all the difference, specially with older people who move slowly.

Review 13：I have just returned fro a smashing week at Hostal Empuries. The location right on the beach, the really friendly staff and the lovely food all made for a top class week of relaxation and fun. I would highly recommend a break at this hotel. It's proximity to Gerona and all it has to offer is a further attraction if you want to do some sightseeing and enjoy the treasures of Catalonia. I will definitely be back!

Review 27：Fabulous location on the beach, right next to an important ancient Greek archaeological site (Emporion). An atmospheric and historic hotel where early 20th-century archaeologists lived (hence the small-to medium-sized rooms). Excellent chef.

Review 28：Arrived at 9 pm after travelling 14 hours from Scotland to be told that the Restaurant was full and we could not get dinner!! I have never been treated in this way as a resident in any hotel I have stayed in in the world And as the hotel is on its own on a secluded beach , we were only glad to get a sandwich in the Beach Bar The hotel should be ashamed of itself and were not repentant or offered us any compensation, it was a disgrace!!

Review 32：The bathroom floor flooded when having a shower. the bath screen couldn't be moved making access into the bath very difficult for older people. Booking through Bookings.com breakfast was twice the price it would have been if I had booked the room direct with the hotel (this should be made clear on Bookings.com website) and the room would have cost the same anyway. I would have liked to use the pool and sauna, but this was a very expensive extra. At £175 per night this should be included. It rained heavily during our stay and there was absolutely no-where to dry clothes, nor swimming costumes after a swim in the sea

This hotel has become fashionable, the managenent has relaxed and quality has gone down. If you don´t need the "design" setting, then you will find other much better customer experience hotels in the area.
