Reviews for Hotel Residence Beach
Review 1:20/30 minute walk from town centre restaurants etc. - last 400yds had no street lights and was in pitch darkness. Hotel should consider providing torches
Review 2:Good continental breakfast. Good swimming pool. Excellent sea view from top floor room. Very quiet location. Easy walk to beach.
Review 3:Location, close to beaches and on the quiet side of town. Lovely staff run by a nice family always willing to help and suggest places to visit and eat Free parking Good simple breakfast Nice pool area Amazing view from balcony
Review 4:Little lounge/bar facils in main hotel in evening.
Review 5:Very helpful staff. Excellent cleaners. Great breakfast. Fantastic location and swimming pool. Good pool snack bar.
Review 6:Rather lacking in charm, some distance from beach, gardens need attention, hotel restaurant open only to groups so you either eat from a limited menu at the pool or walk 10 mins to nearest restaurant along unlit road.
Review 7:Comfortable bed, good bathroom, helpful staff, very good lunch at poolside.
Review 8:Noise from gym not welcome when trying to have quiet breakfast on terrace
Review 9:Lovely views from room and from terrace, pleasant walk in to Cavalaire, unobtrusive but very helpful staff, restful atmosphere (apart from the noise from the gym!)
Review 10:Very few people ate dinner at the hotel despite excellent food. Might be because bar closed rather early. Hotel also was a little further out from centre of Cavalaire than we would have liked from a walking point of view.
Review 11:Most things were very good.
Review 12:The streets to go back to the hotel at night are completely dark as have no street lamps. Very scary experience the first time, although the area seems very safe.
Review 13:Absolutely everything! Very helpful and polite staff. Very clean. Delicious breakfast. Large bed. Quiet area. Only 10 min to the beach and literally straight down the road.
Review 14:Despite the name, this hotel is NOT near the beach. If you want to walk down to the beach, it is better to choose another hotel. Refrigerator, but no minibar. Nothing to boil water. Musty smell from the bathroom, common to Provence hotels.
Review 15:friendly staff, good facilities for relaxing, swimming pool, tennis, quiet, free and easy parking, beautiful view
Review 16:The bed was uncomfortable, room was small and there was no shampoo.
Review 17:Great location, one amazing member of staff
Review 18:It was a beautiful setting. Our rom was lovely
Review 19:Restaurant poor
Review 20:Staff spoke English
Review 21:The miniature bathroom and the poor quality towels.
Review 22:The staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival.the swimming pool was good.
Review 23:Excellent location breakfast and evening meal very good
Review 24:partly in need of revision, positive points outweigh everything...
Review 25:Very friendly and accommodating! Quiet, relaxing, but not boring...
Review 26:It doesnt justify the very high price.. Normal price would be cc 30% lower.. Not the best english by lady at the reception.
Review 27:Basically everything.
Review 28:a bit far away from the beach
Review 29:Quite and comfortable hotel
Review 30:Loved the buffet breakfast, which was more expensive than other hotels in France we stayed in but was well worth it by comparison.
Review 31:Really good value-for-money ratio and really friendly staff.
Review 32:Lovely grounds and sea views
Review 33:Excellent location about 7 minutes from the beach. This side of thebeach is much better and less crowded than that closer to the centre. Our room was exceptionally clean and had a balcony with sea view. Verynice poolside restaurant - we had dinner there on 2 nights and weresurprised to discover that the food was much better than in therestaurants in the centre of the town. Gerard deserves a scecial mentionas he was extremely helpful and his cheerful attitude definitely madeour stay memorable.
Review 34:Where do I start Breakfast was a nightmare just not enough staff to cope with large coach parties, not enough cups/plates etc Not enough or well trained staff in the bar to serve large parties of noisy old English golfer's Our room had a sea view through the trees and was very near the noisiest boiler plant I have ever heard you could not leave the patio doors open or sit on the room terrace for the loud noise and this was 24/7 Also in the Saturday night there was a very loud wedding attended by a very rough crowd who thought nothing of walking into the dining area smoking by the tables and being very loud To be honest we had a nightmare at this very over priced and disappointing hotel in an idyllic setting
Review 35:The location was excellent and reception staff helpful
Review 36:The breakfast didn't represent value for money. On arrival forbreakfast the tables were not set and ready and we had to go lookingfor cutlery etc. The choice could have been better and they ran out ofour preferred cereal stating that their supplier let them down! Onreturning to the hotel in the evening everything was closed after 22 hrhence we couldn't enjoy an evening drink before retiring to our room. The hotel could be so much better if they improved the above and maybeoffered the choice of breakfast in your room for example. Finally, wedidn't use the restaurant as the breakfast experience left us with aless than positive feeling.
Review 37:The hotel staff were very friendly and the room was very quiet and greatfor a good nights sleep. The bedroom was very clean and the sea view wasvery nice.
Review 38:Nothing to complain about!
Review 39:The hotel is very nicely located, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Their wonderful pool area are became a focus of our lunch/afternoons and their pool cafe is wonderful with excellent food prepared daily.
Review 40:The location was not beachside, but it was a lovely walk down. Also definitely located at the right end of the beach if you prefer your beaches less crowded. It is a walk away from the tourist strip too, which we preferred. Staff were friendly too.
Review 41:Very isolated location, too far from anything. From the name and thepictures on the website we expected to be on or close to the beach.Disappointed to find location is a residential area - no restaurants, shops or bars anywhere close. There is a fairly basic restaurant at theresort some nights and for breakfast - to eat elsewhere you have todrive some distance. No kettle in room so cant even have cup of coffeewithout driving to nearby town. Lot of noise in garden rooms due tochairs scraping on the floor in the restaurant above, and noise frompatrons late at night. There is a bright light outside the room whichshines through the window all night (cannot be turned off from therooms). We had to put towels over the window to block out the light.
Review 42:The Resort is quite nice, set in gardens with tennis court and pool.Garden rooms have a nice private garden terrace.
Review 43:Not much really. If you're not very mobile then the beach is a 5 min walk down a hill (and hence back up the hill to come back). We were pleasantly surprised overall - yes it's not the most modern, but it's still very comfortable and most importantly spotlessly clean.
Review 44:Really excellent staff, could not have been better. The room was good, spotlessly clean with efficient air con. It's not ultra modern, but then you're not paying boutique prices. Also a really good location with a very nice beach about 5 mins walk. The hotel is set in grounds well back from the road and any noise so it was very quiet. As I said before though, the main thing that impressed us was the staff.
Review 45:Nothing, all was good.
Review 46:Great service, very friendly staff, English speaking, wonderful dinner and breakfast and secure car parking.
Review 47:The room and the bathroom were a bit small.
Review 48:The dinner was very good and the staff were very friendly.
Review 49:Older furniture
Review 50:Friendly staff, great garden and swiming pool
Review 51:Very good restaurant, less noice, 300 m from beach, nice room. Nice bathroom. Friendly people.
Review 52:not that close to the beach.
Review 53:nice staff, very nice and modern room.
