Reviews for L'Andrea
Review 1:Our only remark was that we would have preferred individual pillows to the bolster pillow provided. This may well be possible - we just didn't ask.
Review 2:We were warmly welcomed on arrival at L'Andrea by Andrea the owner. She is a dog-lover and made our large puppy very welcome. We found the rooms to be simple but well-equipped and the hotel to be extremely convenient to Brive's attractive centre (no more than 5 minutes' walk) with the train station a similar distance away. We came by car and parking in the evening was easy on the street nearby the hotel. In the morning Andrea provided a lovely breakfast with home-made bread and jams, fresh croissants and the best coffee we have had in France for a very long time (perhaps explained by the fact that Andrea is originally from Italy). We really recommend this as a nice place to stay.
Review 3:Exceptionally warm and welcoming host. Rooms are basic but had all the necessities. I don't think it was indicated when we booked but a generous continental breakfast and espressos were included.
Review 4:The Hotel was well located near the city center. A little older but clean. Andrea was very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was really fine. I surely would come back here.
Review 5:On the night we stayed it was very noisy with people coming and going most of the night.
Review 6:Quaint small hotel handy to station and rental car depots(3-5 mins walk) close to the old town and shopping(5-10mins)For overnight stay after returning car and jumping on early morning train it was fine. Staff helpful and room was a good size.
Review 7:Pillows on bed made for not such a good night's sleep - but the boulder pillow is the French way. (Would be worth taking a pillow if I was staying there again). There was no shower gel/shampoo, unfortunately but small bars of soap in bathroom.
Review 8:The Owner is a charming lady, who made us feel very welcome and went out of her way to make our room comfortable and warm upon our return from dinner in the town. The decor of the hotel is charming and typically french. Breakfast was great value for money and substantial (bread, croissants, jams, dried fruits, coffee and cheese). The location is good for the railway station and town, but there was no hotel parking, just street parking by meter (which was full when we arrived) so parked in the underground parking, which is a good 5-10 min walk. Great value for money overall and would stay there again.
Review 9:As in all hotels we have stayed at, the cleaning staff try to enter in the morning without knocking first! A minor point and seems to happen in al hotel and this little hotel is very good for the price bracket.
Review 10:Clean and comfortable with balcony. Wood floors, kettle in room ( bring tea bags). Good shower and bathroom, plenty of room. Quiet and very convenient for the station with cafés and boulangerie on the street.
Review 11:Lovely owners who welcomed us warmly, gave us a choice of rooms and allowed us to leave our bags before check in. The little garden area at the back was very pleasant for breakfast. It was a very nice small hotel conveniently located near the train station and short walk to the old centre of town.
Review 12:Very relaxing place .The most friendly staff you could wish for, nothing too much Breakfast served in the delightful and quiet garden full of interesting old things
Review 13:The hotel was within a short walking distance of the centre of the town. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was very clean and artistically decorated with lots of interesting features to look at. Would definitely recommend.
Review 14:Lovely people running it, very comfortable en-suite rooms, our 3 children slept upstairs in a family room and my husband and I in a room on the first floor. Andrea recommended a very nice local restaurant and booked us a table there too. The breakfast garden was wonderful!
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:Everything! Warm welcome - Andrea and his wife went out of their way to be the perfect host. Beautiful room and perfect location. Stay here if you can. Thank you Andrea for a lovely stay

Review 18:Some trouble with the Wi-Fi.
Review 19:Very handy to railway station. Quite clean and facilities were adequate.
Review 20:The atmosphere of the hotel. Also very well located, just off the center, enough to have an excellent value for money.
Review 21:It was all good
Review 22:We received a wonderful welcome after a long day's travel. The room and bed was good and the breakfast was wonderful.
Review 23:No complaints.
Review 24:Very welcoming hostess. Large room, large bathroom. Just five minutes from the historic centre, ten minutes from market.
Review 25:The bed and pillows were a bit on the soft side.
Review 26:Friendly helpful service, good location, a nice balcony.
Review 27:Don't expect owner to speak English and hours of access can be a problem when arriving.
Review 28:Very close to station. Room was comfortable.
Review 29:There is nothing to dislike.
Review 30:This hotel is the best possible value you will find. Andrea is an absolute delight. On arrival the welcome is like greeting good friends. The garden is delightful. Andrea never stops smiling & laughing. We had a really good nights sleep in a very comfy bed. The balcony looks out over the hills. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Review 33:Bed not the most comfortable. Loud converstaion from outside on a Sat night/Sunday morning,
Review 34:Friendly staff and a good location between the railway station and the city. Reasonable low cost accomodation for backpackers & the budget concious.
Review 35:USA Travelers: Andrea is a national treasure who went out of her way to accommodate us and make us feel welcome! Great location: close to Brive center and train connections, but quiet at night. We particularly enjoyed the decor in the bar/breakfast area~~well done!
Review 36:Comments giving an average of 8.5 are bordering fraudulent. Compared to IBIS centre in Limoges it is only worth 20 euros per night. I would rate it between hostel and B&B suitable only for backpackers or old french ladies. The landlady was scatty and spoke no english - this is mot a criticism as I speak almost no french. She seemed genuine and nice. I left written and stamped post cards at reception expecting them to go with the hotel post but she assumed I left them on error and returned them. The room did not even have a waste bin. The bath was so short I could only use it as a shower but the hand held shower had no fixing point so I gave up. The bathroom had no functioning ventilation.
Review 37:Wifi was excellent.
Review 38:The hotel is located near to the train station so is very convenient. Andrea and her husband are very helpful. Andrea is a delight so full of energy and cheerfulness. She makes guests very welcome and enjoys sharing experiences with them. Breakfast is served in the dining room and is ample in quantity and also variety.
Review 39:just a couple of small things which didn't work in my room - the remote for the TV and the table lamp didn't work either
Review 40:A warm welcome, felt like a return visit though it was my first. Very well situated for walking to Historical Centre of town and all facilities in Brive including markets and museums, churches etc. There is an abundance of original art around which gives character and makes the rooms feel cosier.
Review 41:We are a family with 2 adult children from Canada and needed a one night stop over while traveling from Normandy to Provence. We had an excellent experience at L'Andrea. When we arrived at 8:00 p.m. we couldn't see anyone inside and the doors were locked. There was a message with a phone number on the door. Unfortunately, we speak very few words in French but we gave the number a try and got through to a wonderfully helpful woman (I think she was the owner or manager?) She spoke French and we spoke English but we managed to communicate and she was there to open the door for us. She was so kind and we all laughed about it. The room was quaint, clean and just what we needed for the night. The next morning this same woman had breakfast waiting for us in the cozy eating area. We managed a quick walk through what seemed a lovely town center only a few blocks from the hotel.
Review 42:Andrea is a very attentive host and interesting to talk to about art!
Review 43:Difficult to get access when we arrived.

Review 51:Nothing, was a nice stop-over
Review 52:Quirky (in a good way) hotel, nice rooms and lovely, super friendly staff. Free overnight parking on the street outside.
Review 53:Accommodation was value for money. Very close to town centre. The hosts were very accommodating. And the breakfast was plentiful. Would revisit.
Review 54:Exceptionally noisy. Facilities very tired.
Review 55:Very convenient to the railway station.
