Reviews for Adonis Brive - Grand Hôtel
Review 1:Nothing serious but would make two points:- 1) The dinner menu was a bit limited 2) The bathroom curtain is transparent! And don't believe people outside cannot see in - they can!! Shower with the light on at your own peril - lol
Review 2:excellent staff. Couldn't have been more helpful comfortable, clean room & bed pet friendly private garage location (quiet even though by the station)
Review 3:.. Being next to station made it a bit noisy from about 6.
Review 4:Large, clean, comfortable room with shower, cleaned and tidied very well every day - as was the hotel. Everything worked. Staff helpful and friendly. Good food. Handy for buses/ trains..
Review 5:Rooms a little tired but still great value, looks like they are renovating also.
Review 6:Close to station but less than 10 mins walk to the centre of Brive. Excellent budget option.
Review 7:My room was very close to the station so It was very irritating to hear the announcements every few minuites.
Review 8:very convenient for station and Brieve centre.
Review 9:Hotel is being renovated and access from the street and check-in is somewhat awkward. Hopefully this will be rectified soon.
Review 10:We had an early train to catch and this Hotel is immediately across from the train station. It obviously accommodates many train travelers.
Review 11:Excellent location, opposite railway station and only a short walk to the old town. Staff extremley helpful. Hotel has a lovey garden to relax in and has a really nice bar and restaurant
Review 12:I was travelling with my 4 children and met my sister there. The receptionist sorted our rooms to make sure we had enough beds, she also spoke great English. We are an evening meal in the courtyard, which is very lovely. The waiter was very efficient, the good good. It's a basic hotel, but quirky and the courtyard garden won me over.
Review 13:Room was a little small for getting our suitcase on the floor and open. Décor is very dated, but clean.
Review 14:Location was great, we arrived off the train at midnight so this was just what we needed - no frills comfort at a good value price
Review 15:This was the most excellent value hotel. Staff, all of them, were terrific. The bedroom was a three suite affair... not posh but entirely comfortable. Location for train travellers could not be beaten. The food is the brasserie is of an excellent standard. A very good experience all round. Do not hesitate to stay here.
Review 16:Excellent for everything for our stay We stayed Sunday evening & no other facility in Brive open so dined at the hotel Excellent value as well so would fully recommend this place
Review 17:We chose it for the location but found it very friendly and comfortable with a good restaurant and a nice cafe for a light breakfast. No problem arriving on the late train from Paris
Review 18:They were doing renovations on the area adjacent to our room which caused some noise and dust. Being opposite the train station there was a lot of noise and it was impossible to sleep with the window open. Try to, ensure a room on the other side of the hotel if possible.
Review 19:Really pleasant dining area and excellent staff. Food was excellent too. Location very convenient to town centre. Will definitely book again if going to Brive.
Review 20:It was very hot when we stayed and the air conditioning didn't cool room very well.
Review 21:The beautiful secluded garden where meals were served.Secure parking. Short walk to town centre. We stayed on a Sunday night and were still able to have a meal in the hotel. Perfect for an overnight but would have been happy to stay longer.
Review 22:The hotel is ridiculously economically priced. In the end we took not only the breakfast option but the evening menu as well and ended up with half board for two people for about £70. The evening meal was brilliantly prepared and delivered. Great terrace for dining.
Review 23:None
Review 24:Staff very much on the ball. Quiet, calm location opposite the SNCF railway station, yet little noise disturbance (French trains are electric). Excellent cuisine, reasonably priced.
Review 25:We were offered an upgraded room, and assured it would not incur any extra charge, but we were charged extra when we checked out. So be wary!
Review 26:Right next to the station, so good for onward journey.
Review 27:Lack of control at breakfast on the availability of items. Poor acoustic of the room regarding the ventilation system.
Review 28:The staff is Awesome, always focused on the customer. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The private garage to store the car it's very nice. The room was amazing.
Review 29:Nothing
Review 30:The hotel is in an ideal convenient location right across from the main train station which is great after a long journey. The staff are very friendly and helpful and some of them spoke English and forgave our very poor French. The hotel is spotlessly clean everywhere and is really well looked after. The breakfast is excellent value for money, plenty of croissants, pain au choclat, cereals, yoghurt, cold meat, eggs and bread with a choice of juice and hot drinks. You could help yourself as much as you wanted to. . It's well worth eating in the restaurant, the meals are really good quality and reasonably priced- they have catered for my individual needs on two occasions now as I am a vegetarian which is not always appreciated in France! There is a really appealing outside area at the back of the property and we had a room on the first floor overlooking this with a balcony, it will be lovely here in the warmer weather. It's only a short walk into the old part of Brive lots of eating places and shops to look around. It's worth visiting 'Maryland Bistro' where they have good food and live music and friendly locals. Nothing bad to say about the hotel or the staff apart from the bed was a little too hard for us but we still had a comfortable night's sleep.
Review 31:Very easy to find just in front of the train station. I was politely welcome. The detail that makes a difference: I totally loved the heated towel-rack!
Review 32:There is a basque bar in town - be warned OCD barman/owner Don't try and move a chair from one table to another - that's not allowed!! Amusing more than anything but better places to drink and eat near by.
Review 33:Staff very very helpful, kind and always available. Quirky hotel in a good way - little cubby holes and interesting areas no bland square rooms. Very clean and large rooms. Even tho' right opposite railway station not too much noise - even the "bom-ba-da-da" proceeding any announcement wasn't too intrusive! Restaurant in hotel is good, worth trying it - the chef seemed to be producing tasty meals with only waitresses to support him - amazing efforts. The bar is also a lovely place to relax We never managed breakfast but looked like a good selection on offer. Brive itself is a small sleepy place no more than 2 days to experience all on offer but worth a visit. If ever return to Brive I'd definitely stay here again
Review 34:Nothing not to like
Review 35:Location was great.... but the staff was just amazing so kind, nice and friendly..... they made this amazing adventure for us.. much appreciated.
Review 36:Location. Right by the station. Perfect for an one-night stay to catch the early train. Not luxury, but clean, a fair price, friendly staff, and fine for its purposes.
Review 37:Hallways with steps everywhere! Mold in the shower. Dirty windows. Noisy. AC did not cool the room-useless!
Review 38:Location across from train station. Very helpful desk staff and porter that went out of his way to get our luggage and us to the proper train on time! He tried to turn down a tip!
Review 39:Bathroom and shower very small, but adequate.
Review 40:Right opposite the station - we had to catch an early train, so perfect for that. Friendly staff. Clean. Not a place to stay a long time, but excellent for an overnight stop.
Review 41:This hotel was exactly what I needed and matched the photos on the website. Really clean comfortable, hot showers and quiet despite the proximity to the station.

Review 80:Poorly organised for breakfast
Review 81:Inexpensive and convenient

Review 92:Security of car park
Review 93:Self service Breakfast served from Midnight until 10am so not a problem with an early departure.
Review 94:Nowhere to put clothes (no drawers, no rails, no hangers). Extremely basic accommodation which we'd never recommend to people we like.
Review 95:Convenience
Review 96:No bad experience but check in could have been more attentive,
Review 97:Bed comfortable, room clean.
Review 98:Nothing.
Review 99:Good location, secure parking (fee charged) and pleasnat restaurant. Great value overall.
Review 100:Style and upgrades
Review 101:So close to railway station
Review 102:No free parking available around Entrance from the "bar"
Review 103:Breakfast buffet Comfort of the room/price Friendly staff Good location
Review 104:Bruit gênant de la ventilation
Review 105:Bon rapport qualité prix
Review 106:the staff went out of their way to help and make you comfortable
Review 107:Super sympa
Review 108:The restaurant had a very limited menu, and most of what was on the menu wasn't actually available. The remodelling of the station made it a little noisy and dusty, but that is due to be completed by the end of 2013.
Review 109:The rooms were rather small and quirky, but they were very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. A shady interior courtyard has recently been opened and is an ideal place to while away a few hours with a book and a pot of tea (or something stronger) from the nearby bar.
Review 110:I was pleasantly surprised with all - I have no dislikes of Grand Hotel Terminus Brive
Review 111:It was very clean, bright and airy, in a surprisingly good location - unlike other cities, the area around the train station in Brive is attractive and there is some night life.
