Reviews for La Bastide De Tourtour Hotel & Spa
Review 1:Continental breakfast was disappointing and overpriced at Euros 21 per person.
Review 2:A lovely hotel with fantastic views in a beautiful situation. A very comfortable, large bedroom with sitting area. Dinner was good, excellent service and a lovely ambience in the restaurant. Short, safe walk into village, lots of restaurants, recommend service and food at Le Relais de St-Denis. Also recommend parking in Ste Maxime and taking boat to visit St Tropez.
Review 3:No Faults that I can remember.
Review 4:The view from the Bedrooms over the open countryside was fantastic. The staff were very helpful in all areas. The Dining room was so well organized by first class staff and the food a delight. Great location just outside the town.
Review 5:Restaurant has wonderful views but food was variable.
Review 6:Fabulous location, great views, quiet hotel but walking distance to historic village. Very clean, with lovely pool and terraces.
Review 7:Unfortunately we were given a room that was probably the worst in thehouse, even though I had requested one with a view - a "comfortsuperior room". The room we got was on the bottom level with a"view" of a hot tub and hedgerow...and underneath the diningroom! Noisy, claustrophobic and dark. The front desk manager said it wasmy fault - that I should have called ahead to know that the only roomswith views are the "prestige" rooms, of which he had noneleft. He said the categories are mislabeled with booking.com. Indeed hesaid I should book directly with the hotel and sniffed at booking.com asa poor way to book this hotel, even though I told him we would not evenknow about the place without booking.com. Needless to say we moved outthe next morning. Our dinner was quite good, even though we were in the"morning" breakfast room which was too well-lit and had noatmosphere at all. I would return if I had a "prestige" roombecause the setting and area were so wonderful.
Review 8:The location of the Bastide is really fabulous...it overlooks the hillsand valleys of the Verdun region, and is a few steps from the adorablelittle town of Tour Tour...a must on any visit to this area. The terraceis beautiful.
Review 9:Staff were slow and left us waiting for over 30 mins to check in with 3 children under 3 years old with no apology;
Review 10:Lovely setting and rooms nicely decorated
Review 11:expensive in term of the facilities could not arrange trips staff not so professional breakfast was a joke and it is 21 €/ person!!! wifi was .....!
Review 12:calm, can't find things to say...
Review 13:Staff extremly unfriendly. Started with the check in: We arrived 1 hr before the official check in time. When asking if it would be possible to check in already, the woman looked at us in an arrogant way and was saying that we should know that the cleaning team needs more time than until now! ok...we went to the hotel restaurant to get a drink-we had to wait like 15' until someone came to our table-and this only because we were asking for someone because the never looked at our table. Same for the bill. Anyway...30min after official check in time, the rooms were ready. We had to carry our luggage by our self and ask for a luggage trolley, which she gave us with showing a big effort from her side. Of course, the trolley was defect. Anyway...we booked 2 comfort rooms - what we got were 1 comfort- and 1 standard room. When asking for a 2nd comfort room, the answer was:" be glad we got you one bigger room". When trying to negociate in a patient way, she began to ignore us. Absolutely inadmissible! Since we only staid 1 night, we looked over this. We went down to the pool. Actually a beautiful area (building itself, garden, whole area...) but the childrenpool was terribly dirty. The bigger one looked cleaner but we still didn't take a dip. Another point is that the standart of the interior incl. also toilet paper is very poor. So our conclusion is clear: Never again. Wasted money.
Review 14:The restaurant service was very poor, we waited almost 90 minutes - thank goodness for good company. Complaint resulted in 'a reduction' and the following evening, although quicker, still lacked polish.
Review 15:Beautiful hotel in stunning location. Very personal.
Review 16:Did booking.com offer half board? This would have been a better deal for us. Breakfasts disappointing for the price - poor buffet food - a cooked meal should have been included in the breakfast price. Staff were very pleasant but service could have been a bit sharper.
Review 17:Tranquility, food (dinner), staff, proximity to village, view, pool, the room.
Review 18:Sad to see that all the bennefits are reduced by "small" issues that can be solved easily. Remarks on restaurant staff here are consitant and absolutely true.
Review 19:Location is perfect. Stunning views and nice surroundings. Tourtour is great place, Gorge du Verdon is a must-see. The food in the restaurant (dinner) is excellent. Great cook, but service (waiters) absolutely below standard.
Review 20:Last visit we had a bad experience in the restaurant with very poor service. Same head waiter this visit so we ate out in the village where there are two very good restaurants.
Review 21:The location and ambience.
Review 22:Lack of drinking water, only available through the mini bar as a small bottle and wasn't enough through out the day.
Review 23:Amazing location, the best view I ever seen in a hotel. On top of the mountain with surrounding mountains as a view. Dream like place.
Review 24:- Breakfast quality for 23 EUR is a rip off. Better have it elsewhere. They even charge 13 EUR for the "baby" breakfast. - Wi-Fi is non-existent
Review 25:The building is about 50 years old and internal features of the bedroom/bathroom are showing this. Cupboards are frankly a disgrace for a 4* hotel. Breakfast is grossly overpriced
Review 26:The view is mind blowing. Gardens are quite spectacular. Dining on the terrace on a hot summer's evening is a real treat.
Review 27:The two single beds pushed together was the only downside of our stay.
Review 28:The location of the Hotel is excellent, with amazing views over the mountains of Provence. Everywhere you go in the Hotel there is something amazing to see, from the paintings to the quirky little sculptures, a lot of thought has gone in to the overall look of the Hotel. You are made to feel special by the staff, who are extremely helpful. The food in the restaurant is amazing, we had two fantastic meals during our stay and were served by a wonderfull waiter named Christophe, who was charming and helpful. I can't reccomend this Hotel Highly enough. It is simply wonderful.
Review 29:Great location, beautiful grounds and short walk to village. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Comfortable rooms with terrace, ours had a great views. Free wifi (but limited speed). Good restaurant, but with limited choice.
Review 30:Nothing what so ever.
Review 31:We were absolutely delighted with the hotel and the attentiveness of the staff. Dinner was fabulous and the service exceptional - bravo !!
Review 32:Everything else. Restaurant- staff disinterested, forgot orders, 90 minutes between courses, expensive. Rooms, lights not working, paper thin walls.....
Review 33:Situation
Review 34:We sat down at 1940 on the outside terrace and immediately received themenu and wine list and duly ordered. The wine arrived immediately butthey forgot the mineral water. We waited and waited for our entree and, after complaining twice it arrived an hour later! Other tablesexperienced the same problem but when after we had waited around 30minutes, some others arrived and were served in 10 minutes! Nobodypoured the wine and the head waiter merely said "really" whenwe complained! The waiter did not know what "poivre noir" isand gave us the normal pepper/salt set! The food was only mediocre,So the next night we dined at 'La Table" in the village...5Star service and 5 Star food...highly recommend...suggested that thehotel send their kitchen/restaurant staff there for dinner to seehow it should be done!!
Review 35:We stayed for two nights and took a "prestige" room withbalcony to celebrate our anniversary. The room was superb if ratherpricey. The hotel location, setting and grounds are excellent. It isalso within an easy walk of the Village of Tourtour by the rearentrance. The outside restaurant terrace is beautiful and very romanticand we can truly recommend to stay there but.....see don't like!!
Review 36:The buffet breakfast was at best average and quite expensive. The rooms are fairly dated with average bathrooms and a 70s look but the rooms with views have a stunning outlook. The beds could be improved as are only of average quality and for me at 6'3' very short.
Review 37:It is fabulously located with amazing views and with a ten minute walk into Tourtour with many options for eating out. It is a very peaceful location to spend a few days away with a good pool. The staff are very friendly.
Review 38:Staff very pleasant. Lunch menu not flexible for a simple snack. Beautiful location. Wiuld stay again. Bit odd furniture and artifacts spread across hotel without a logical theme.
Review 39:Nothing.
Review 40:From driving through the entrance towards the hotel my husband and Iwere blown away. The hotel was exceptional and all staff very attentivefrom arriving to leaving. The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent andthe public spaces very comfortable. We spent the afternoon around thepool which was a lovely temperature and the sun loungers so nice. Ourevening meal was on the sun terrace and we were amazed at the quietnessof the place especially as we had previously been staying in Aix enProvence where the noise was very noticeable. The choice of menus werevery good with a good range of prices. We both ate from the 35 euro menuand the food was very flavoursome and just of the right amount. I woulddefinitely think about returning next year and perhaps for longer
Review 41:We think the restaurant ist ambitious, however not yet achieving the standard you might expect at a beautiful place like this.
Review 42:The view is fantastic, the privilege room was very beautiful, however some little repairs should be made (doors were hard to close or open). The service is like being part of a family, very attentive and personal. We arrived too early around noon time and were offered to stay at the pool until our room would be ready. We got pool towels and were able to bring our luggage into the hotel. We stayed for 3 nights instead the one we projected at first, as the villages and sights around were so wonderful.
Review 43:splendid view (from restaurant, swimming pool), building with a lot of character, situation near the - very nice - village (about 3 minutes walk, literally), good kitchen
Review 44:Breakfast quite basic and expensive.
Review 45:Nice room with balcony, lovely view. Gentle staff. Historic building.
Review 46:Great service, and they understood my dietary needs. All of the people were friendly and helpful.
Review 47:Location, food, and staff.
Review 48:Views, Clean, great location, good rooms
Review 49:A bit expensive for the quality of our room.
Review 50:Stunning location. Lovely staff.
Review 51:Everything
Review 52:Nothing
Review 53:Beautiful situation. Lovely pool excellent breakfast if a bit pricy.
Review 54:Lovely grounds and lovely views. Gorgeous rooms and beautiful pool.
Review 55:Staff often hard to even find and so rushed they would for instance, go first rather than let you past.
Review 56:Stunning location.
Review 57:The weather, but hardly the hotel's fault!
Review 58:Setting, food, view from room, staff attentiveness. Everything
Review 59:Nice location close to the village. Bea utiful view, garden and pool. Excellent diner and breakfast Helisurface
Review 60:The view and room design to fully experience it. Excellent breakfast on terrace
Review 61:Annoying noise of kitchen freezer compressor fan, the restaurant menudid not change and housekeeping was slow to make up room and did notreplenish bathroom toiletries
Review 62:The location, staff friendliness, views, facilities. Despite minorcomments we really like this hotel as we have now visited 3 times andwould like to return.
Review 63:Thé restaurant did not deliver thé promise. Expensive, little choice, looks like waiters are in training. Breakfast overpriced.
Review 64:Nice rooms, clean And Well decorated. Quiet place, we really appreciated thé quiet pool area. Landscape is gorgeous. Good place to disconnect for thé week-end end. Staff Nice And helpful.
Review 65:The staff was very professional. Our contact was Carole and she was the best! You pull up and it's very impressive with amazing views. The grounds are very pristine. The rooms were very new and modern with a flare of old traditional that really worked well together. It gave a little bit for every traveler. The drive into all of the villages was really nice and super close. We went to a wedding while we were there and would definitely stay again when we visit.
Review 66:We ran out of toilet paper! No coffee/tea making facilities. Overpriced restaurant and disappointing food (and I had un upset stomach in the night) 15 euros for a gin and tonic!!! Overpriced breakfast (we walked to the village) The hotel was practically empty so nobody bothered to turn on the lights on the stairs or in the rooms downstairs
Review 67:Its position, its connection with the movies filmed there. Fabulous views.
Review 68:no dislikes at all
Review 69:The views, the restaurant, the location everything
Review 70:Excellent service wraped in serene surroundings and lovely village nearby!
Review 71:Shortage of staff on arrival at reception at 7.00 p.m.
Review 72:Attention to detail. Courteous, friendly staff. Sheer luxury.
Review 73:Poor sound insulation; lack of staff attention to detail
Review 74:Location, grounds and swimming pool, food
Review 75:Pool needed cleaning of insects
Review 76:Fantastic location with beautiful views. Great food in a fabulous setting on the terrace.
Review 77:Excellent location Excellent food
