Reviews for Gîtes les bains
Review 1:The stairs to the apartment and internally. A clothes washing machine would be nice if possible.
Review 2:The location, decor and welcome from Sylvie. A very comfortable bed with reading lights. Good shower.
Review 3:Nothing.
Review 4:Location in centre of this gorgeous town with five minute walk to restaurants, shops and beautiful historic buildings. Stunning walking possibilities through vineyards and forest.Sylvie the owner gave wonderful advice on tourism and travel in the area.
Review 5:Beautiful gite right in the heart of Riquewihr just a short walk to restaurants and a good base for touring the area. Sylvie the owner is very helpful and friendly. The gite has everything you could wish for, we highly recommend a stay here and will definitely stay again.
Review 6:If you have a big car it is nearly impossible to park at the back of the Gites. However Sylvie was able to let us park our car about 300 metres away for free.
Review 7:Sylvie was an excellent host and assisted us in anything we requested. Location great.
Review 8:The only slight thing that might be a negative for some people would be the ladder up to the loft (it was very steep). It was fine for our kids though (ages 10 and 11).
Review 9:We stayed here for four nights and it wasn't enough! It was easily the favorite of all the places we stayed on a 4 country tour. The apartment is extremely cozy and the location is fabulous.
Review 10:Sylvie is very nice and warm. We stayed for four nights, and there happened to be a heat wave in Europe. We know many places in France do not see installing an AC is necessary and we were quite worried. Sylvie brought in an AC unit and kept it on for us upon our arrival - it was a savior! Also one day the toilet had a problem and her husband fixed it in no time. We really appreciated her thoughtfulness and prompt service. Highly recommend!
Review 11:This was the best! Beautiful Appartment exquisitly furnished and decorated. Silvie, the owner thought of everything. Everything was of top quality. The original Building was built in 1680. It is right in the centre of town. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 12:The hard towels.
Review 13:The unit was well equipped, pleasantly decorated and ideally situated just off the main street in Riquewihr. Sylvie was informative and helful.
Review 14:I did not realize that the stairs to upper bedroom (in duplex suite) would be so steep and narrow. Would be imposdible for elderly person and small children (Was challenging for us as kids had to sleep on main floor as too steep for daughter to come down in middle of night) Very very hot in loft at night. Very little counter space in kitchen (eating out is lovely but choices for kid's meals is sausage or nuggets with fries at every restaurant). Cash deposit plus cash up front payment, plus parking fee plus cleaning fee is challenging when staying for a week. Wifi only worked in kitchen area and loft?
Review 15:Beautiful town Great location (excellent!) Lovely decoration Friendly and helpful hostess with excellent English. quiet location many many wonderful restaurants and shops in short walking distance. Easy to drive in and out of as on edge of old town Allocated parking spot Gorgeous old building and the other apartments (we were in duplex) are all lovely too. Can hear conversations from below apartments when in sitting room but not in bedrooms. Lots of TP, soap and dish fluid which is very rare and so appreciated! No alsacian wine in fridge though ;)
Review 16:Upper level apartment may not suit the elderly or infirm due to medieval staircase. Lower level apartment would be fine. It's also a little dark but this is common in old buildings.
Review 17:Sylvie was very helpful ensuring a wonderful stay.
Review 18:No lifts so be prepared to struggle with your luggage if you are in the top level apartment. The short term pain is well worth it and the owners will also assist you also so it is only a minor thing....
Review 19:Apartment Living rather than a small hotel room Very helpful owners Middle of town so location was excellent.... Kitchen facilities are all that you would need and the facilities clean and tidy A quiet location and typical French apartment in a regional wine growing area of France... Lovely location..
Review 20:Nothing to not like - brilliant stay
Review 21:Sylvie (landlady) very informative about the attractions in the area, gave invaluable insight as to best places to eat and visit, and earliest bakery opening hours. Gite itself extremely well fitted with everything one could need in the kitchen. Bathroom had a spa bath which was most excellent after a day of exploring and bed very comfortable too. Good space for storage of luggage
Review 22:Nothing.....except for the refuse collection at 4.45 am on Thursdays!
Review 23:The lovely creation and furnishing of this little gîte - with excellent storage space, quality materials and style sympathetic to this 1619 house. Bathroom to die for! Most comfortable bed. Quiet in evenings, yet a stone's throw from pedestrian centre of exquisite Riquewihr. The kind friendliness of our hosts. Private parking ( worth it)
Review 24:Had to keep curtains closed to keep heat out as no (AC) internal cooling - meant that the apartment was mostly dark and hot
Review 25:Excellent location and very friendly owner
Review 26:Really nothing to complain. If you are not a fan of french romantic style, this might not be your hotel. Although the bathroom was totally modern.
Review 27:The hotel is well located on the narrow streets of Riquewihr. The owners are really helpful and friendly (with good English) to give you tips of the area. The room was spacious and clean and the bathroom was modern.
Review 28:Steps to the upper bedroom would be tricky for older people. Driving and parking needed some care.
Review 29:Central location in 'fairytale' Riquewihr. Extremely informative and friendly host.
Review 30:Our flight from the US was delayed due to weather & Sylvie was nice enough not to charge us for the night we missed. The location is right in the middle of Riquewihr. I would recommend getting a parking spot (but beware they're tight spots!), but if not available, the town is so small, you don't have to walk far from the lot outside the wall (2+ blocks). The apartment itself was adorable & very clean. We really enjoyed our stay there. Good restaurants nearby. Would highly recommend!!
Review 31:Sylvie was extremely friendly and helpful. Great to have free parking close. The kitchen had all the desired equipment. Plenty of room.
Review 32:very hard to access to the parking lot if you bring big sedan
Review 33:location, interior decoration, tv screen, whirpool, wifi, a/c
Review 34:Warm and welcoming reception, upon arrival. Great private parking space. Excellent accomodations and privacy.
Review 35:Great location, quiet, comfortable and excellent attention to detail
Review 36:Carpark a bit closer would be nice, but not a negative.
Review 37:No special comments
Review 38:Ideally located, friendly host, very clean, fair price for the quality of services
Review 39:After a few days, we would have liked easier access to non-tourist shops and services, including laundry, supermarket, and gas stations. Parking was a hassle, until we found a garage area that could accommodate a car (and driver!) larger and less maneuverable than the typical European mini-models.
Review 40:A truly wonderful location in the middle of Riquewihr's historic "medieval town" — with easy access to the region's cultural sites. Of special note: the apartment is spacious, immaculate, with 21st century equipment and facilities, all within a historic Alsacian house, beautifully restored by Michael (a talented craftsman) and managed by Sylvie (an energetic and gracious hostess), who also took time to show us ancient "caves" and wine-making equipment in the neighborhood. Riquewihr is a bit "Disney," especially when the tour-buses unload during the middle of the day, but especially charming for those who can stay overnight to enjoy discovering it before and after the crowds appear, then leave to explore the region — Colmar, Kaysersberg, Bergheim... even Strasbourg.
Review 41:There is a 50 euro cleaning fee that I didn't really catch when booking. Can't blame them though. Just need to know the total price. The apt is perfectly located with a great bathroom and is so clean!
Review 42:It was incredibly convenient and super clean and comfortable. Sylvia speaks excellent English and is very energetic and prompt. Would stay there again.
Review 43:nothing
Review 44:everything
Review 45:Excellent location, beautiful and spacious yet cosy apartment, very clean and the owner was friendly and helpful.
