Reviews for Killyhevlin Lakeside Hotel & Chalets
Review 1:The room was large and comfortable. It had a double and a single bed both of which were a good size and as I was travelling with my daughter the space was very welcome. The hotel was all very warm and comfortable without being too hot. The leisure facilities were good.
Review 2:Small problem with authorising debit card on arrival then further probs when paying as leaving but got sorted in the end.
Review 3:Deep tissue massages and facial were excellent- spa staff especially Martina brilliant. Food in restaurant was mouth watering although pricey. Gluten free food options well catered for- brilliant!
Review 4:Pillow was fairly hard- but my fault for not requesting another- and I realise pillow preferences vary greatly between visitors!
Review 5:Room was excellent and very clean
Review 6:Only staying one night!!
Review 7:The friendly atmosphere..relaxing sofas beside fire...stunning views and gorgeous Christmas trees! A first class meal in the Kove restaurant..breakfast was also very good. All in all we had a lovely relaxing stay!
Review 8:the fact we had to go home!
Review 9:Everything was perfect from start to finish. Hotel lovely , great staff , lovely pool , very clean , comfy bed, great breakfast. i think you get the picture now it was all just lovely!!
Review 10:the room was cold...... tried to put on the heating but it didn't heat the room very much
Review 11:Loved the room fabulous views of the lake, and great sized bathroom, room was spotless
Review 12:No complaints at all.
Review 13:Hotel was spotlessly clean in all areas. Staff were excellent and food was first rate. No complaints at all. Can't wait to return for another visit.
Review 14:Great stay for my girlfriends birthday, were given a complimentary upgrade to a room looking over the lake, view was stunning! Breakfast good buffet and were well looked after by staff throughout our stay.
Review 15:The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. There didn't appear to be any organisation to alert guests regarding whether or nor not it had been a false alarm. There was no explanation given even at breakfast without asking.
Review 16:TV - No RTE or Sky channels that I could find Did not get to experience the leisure facilities
Review 17:Nice room warm cosy with tea and coffee Friendly staff
Review 18:Very Friendly staff, we arrived quite early at 10.30, but we were greeted at reception and accommodated in a room that was ready for us. We dined in the carvery restaurant, the food was of Hugh quality and very good value.
Review 19:Staff in bar/restaurant weren't very pleasant or polite expect one woman who recommended a bar to go to while in enniskillen for the night.
Review 20:Room was clean.
Review 21:Only complaint was that the heating was quite poor with radiator barely warm at night and it was a particularly cold night. If we'd had children they would have been quite cold
Review 22:Absolutely loved this place.
Review 23:Room was way overpriced £140 for a standard double ! Been in nicer 3 star hotels with better rooms, price wise was very dissapointed !
Review 24:Beautiful place great staff and food was outstanding ! Beds where comfortable
Review 25:Loved the location and the beautiful view over the lake, just gorgeous. I had a facial and it was lovely so relaxing. Food was excellent in the restaurant.
Review 26:Our second morning the woman in charge at breakfast seemed very stressed and was rude to staff in front of us and other customers. This was akward for the member of staff and us. Her manner in general that morning was unpleasant towards staff and people staying in the hotel.
Review 27:The views were beautiful! We got a room with a lakeview and it made all the difference. Most of the staff were lovely and helpful but especially the young guy who checked us in and another young guy that checked us out! Both had dark hair. The one that checked us in mentioned us having a wedding viewing , and when he seen us the next day asked how we got on and wished us well for our wedding.
Review 28:Hotel was very modern, luxurious and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.Food was also beautiful, enjoyed my stay and would recommend a visit :)
Review 29:For a 4 star hotel we were slightly disappointed with the standard of the rooms. The temperature control (or lack of it) is also a major problem. We had 2 very poor nights sleep due to the room being uncomfortably warm. For this reason I wouldn't stay again.
Review 30:Some lovely views from the bar/restaurant area. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
Review 31:The location of the hotel is excellent- the view from the outdoor hot tub is hard to beat! The food in the grill bar and the breakfasts were both excellent.
Review 32:No bar area, limited seats as most were reserved so we had to go into town - price was very expensive for one night.
Review 33:Nice place, close to town, friendly staff
Review 34:very noisy hotel. disturbed sleep about 6 times over two nights banging doors until 3:45 am taxis coming and going loud conversations in the car park just outside our bedroom shouting and clattering of raised security barriers. falling into place
Review 35:Sadly, some of the food was not up to standard. My husband asked for a rib eye steak to be cooked as rare when in the restaurant. It did not come that way and as he does not like to make a fuss He ate it. But it was overpriced and lacking in taste as was the fish dish for another of our party. That was the only irritation in what was a lovely couple of days in that venue.
Review 36:The setting is splendid The bedroom and ensuite rooms are a good size Staff are ver pleasant and helpful
Review 37:Disrupted nights sleep as there was a wedding and the wedding party was fighting right outside our room at 4 30 in the morning, and continued for sometime thereafter! Then the police arrived!
Review 38:Service was excellant and food was lovely!
Review 39:Breakfast on 1st morning we were there was terrible but was redeemed second morning. Rooms very warm during night even with radiator down low.
Review 40:Staff were exceptional nothing was any problem to them. Meal we had in the hotel was beautiful.
Review 41:Although our phones and i-pad said we were connected to the hotels wi-fi we were unable to connect to the Internet, and 3G wasn't available either.
Review 42:The staff were all very friendly and helpful, with a nice view over the lake from our room. Close proximity to Enniskillen.
Review 43:We arrived just for one night booked a double room got a room with a lovely veiw of lough . Will For sure be back again for longer next time , only if we get same veiw staff great .
Review 44:Only a small moan about the room being too warm but in general could not fault our stay
Review 45:The food was reasonably priced and excellent quality, especially the breakfast! The room was comfortable and the scenery beautiful
Review 46:The staff were extremely friendly. Our room was spacious and airy with a beautiful modern bathroom. We had an excellent view from our room over looking the lake. I would highly recommend the spa facilities.
Review 47:The room was way too warm (we turned the radiator off the second night) and the bedding was very heavy so hard not to be too hot even with the window open at night
Review 48:The room had a view of the lough..
Review 49:The room was too hot. Even with the radiator turned off and the window open we found it hard to sleep. The duvet could have been a little lighter due to the heat in the room.
Review 50:Staff at reception and in the dining room were all polite and helpful. Food was good and served well.
Review 51:The weather!
Review 52:The staff were so friendly, courteous and helpful, they made us feel so welcome and important, nothing was a bother for them, brilliant Young people.
Review 53:the dreadful overheating -we couldn't sleep it was so bad.Other residents said the same - one had an asthma attack. Staff said they couldn't fix it.
Review 54:health club
Review 55:unfortunately the water was cold on the evening we arrived, we did tell the staff at the desk and they would look into it, but the next morning again we had to take cold showers. the hotel over all was very good but very warm we didn't get time to use the leisure center
Review 56:Very cosey hotel and the staff were very nice
Review 57:I didn't like the manner in which I was treated at check-in. I got the distinct impression I was being viewed with suspicion. It was very disconcerting. I was not given a reason for it. I requested a room suitable for disabled with a walk-in shower (wet room), it was not provided nor was it even mentioned such was not available at check-in.
Review 58:The location is ideal from every aspect. The Staff (except for one, at reception) are warm, friendly, helpful and make one feel very welcome. The breakfast is superb, Anne Connolly who serves at breakfast is exceptional. The bar food is good and overall the hotel is very good value.
Review 59:From a 4star hotel i would expect better, staff unhelpful, food was poor, and the cleanliness of hotel was poor grime andand dirdirt in breakfast room
Review 60:It was so cold. Room heating controlled centrally and impossible to get warm. We had to ask for a heater in the end. Taking a shower in such a cold bathroom a terrible experience. I have never been anywhere so cold in my life. Incredibly uncomfortable stay as a result. Please put the heating on
Review 61:We went for breakfast got shown to our seats and told staff would come over and take our tea and coffee order. We went and had our breakfast had it ate and still no member of staff came to take our order so we had no tea or coffee with our breakfast.
Review 62:Loved the room and the grounds the hotel is set in as its beautiful.
Review 63:Only thing I'd add comment on is the food, which was delicious! Though it was only a one night stay, we were refreshed by it, which is what we had hoped for. I requested a room with a lake view & was delighted that we were given one. It was lovely.
Review 64:Had requested a twin room but given a double. This was efficiently rectified by helpful staff. Thought the Grill was overpriced for what it was although the food was tasty. Live entertainment was rather loud .
Review 65:Beautiful location and grounds. Rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. Had a good sleep.
Review 66:Quality and price of bar food. Being Canadians we are well accustomed to burgers etc.but served with hot aoili and pesto on full side of plate made it totally unpalatable. This would be OK. maybe on a gourmet meal, but we had no choice but to fill up on crisps.
Review 67:Bathroom facilities, bed comfort, breakfast and staff at breakfast were excellent.
Review 68:No air conditioning in rooms, having to push past people smoking at the entrance, lunchtime carvery was reminiscent of a school canteen, limited and food got cold while we queued to pay. Desserts hugely over priced for the size of the small portion. Paying for a swimming cap to use the pool. The dreadful piano music in the Boat house restaurant at night!
Review 69:Nice hotel in a picturesque location. Friendly, efficient staff, nothing too much trouble! Wonderful spa. Very good breakfast. We'll definitely be back - we can avoid the things we didn't like!
Review 70:When I booked this hotel for the weekend of my wife's 60th birthdaythe implication was I was booking a double room which was advertised at£220 for two nights on 29th and 30th August. The night before ourdeparture to Enniskillen I checked to see my reservation was in orderand I realised by my original booking the room was for one guest only???I subsequently added my wife's name to the booking and wasconsequently charged a further £100. Having been to dozens of hotels allaround the world, most of which were booked online, I have never comeacross such an arrangement as this. We enjoyed our stay in theKillyhevlin. However, our stay was not worth the extra £100 and itsomewhat marred what should have been a memorable occasion for my wifeand I. Sincerely, Adrian Cathcart
Review 71:We had a bar meal which was very disappointing. My wife had the cod and chips and I had the special - chicken in a sauce. Very average indeed and poor value. I am sure if we had gone to any of the local restaurants or bars we would have had much better.
Review 72:Brilliant location and the views from the hotel are magnificent. Really good breakfast.
Review 73:Hotel was very crowded and very noisy; lots of children running about Service in restaurant was very slow; Had to park car far away from access to hotel--a real problem for elderly person who uses a cane.
Review 74:Food was good; room was clean and fairly roomy
Review 75:Small touches missing e.g. no bottled water or Minnie bar in room. We were put into a disabled room which we would have preferred not to be but it was ok.
Review 76:everything was lovely although it is on the expensive side. Staff great, food delicious , rooms and view lovely, grounds and location brilliant
Review 77:Nothing. The whole experience was great.
Review 78:As we had driven from England I had asked for car parking. An area was roped off for us. We received a very warm welcome. I had requested a lake view if possible. Our room was very clean and had a lovely view of the lake. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. We would definitely stay again.
Review 79:Had enjoyed ourselves the first day.and then on Thurs morn my husband jim took unwell. The manager of the dining room and table staff were very helpful in gettingan ambulance service to the hotel very quickly. I would just like to thank you all very much for the kindness and help you guys have given us. Beatrice&jim reid .

Review 85:The staff could be a little more friendly
Review 86:The spa was great and the massage was brilliant I would go again
Review 87:Comfortable room which was well laid and had a great view of the water.
Review 88:showers in spa/pool not really functioning as hot showers plastic mat on pool walkway may need some attention at the `joined up' sections
