Reviews for Stars Tours

Review 1:We have 2 dogs and i think the owners did't like this at all ! The bed in the room was like someone slept in it and we received another room but we didn't receive a lot of smiles ;(((((

Review 2:breakfast was ok

Review 3:Bit tired could do with a spruce up Sliding door for bathroom doesn't work properly Lack of power points

Review 4:Location and on site parking Breakfast Price

Review 5:First impression, the outside needed attention, especially garden! Rooms were clean but basic which was reflected in the low price.

Review 6:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast, wide variety of choice. Foyer was welcoming with tourist information and board games.

Review 7:The bed was extremely uncomfortable with only 1 pillow each and the division between the shower room and bedroom was a plastic concertina door that didn't close.

Review 8:Very good value for money on a quick 1 night stopover. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The lady who greeted us was lovely. There's a fantastic moules restaurant just round the corner.

Review 9:Wifi only available in public areas. Very poorly presented from outside. Overgrown and unkempt. Poorly maintained rooms and facilities. toilet seat broken. Bedside light wiring sealed off with duct tape.

Review 10:Location and price

Review 11:Nothing to dislike though outside garden area could do with a bit of a tidy

Review 12:Great stopover, friendly staff remembered us from last year, excellent breakfast

Review 13:I wanted a dog friendly hotel and we had to leave him in the room when we had breakfast. Should have been told this before.

Review 14:The bed was very comfy and good location for restaurants.

Review 15:The "bathroom" was a joke. Room very basic and looks like it hasn't been redecorated since it was built but to be fair it was clean.

Review 16:The price, the location and the breakfast

Review 17:Upon arrival the outside of the building looked as if it needed a good lick of paint and the gardens were desperate to be weeded. The chap on reception was scruffy and couldn't break a smile, not a good first impression. Corridors were very dark and had a very unpleasant smell which was being disguised by a very overpowering smell of bleach. The catch on our sliding door to the bathroom had broken so no privacy at all and the shower was fed from the wash basin, sharing the same controls. Window was full of little flys and the back of the curtain was disgusting. Bed was very low but amazingly was reasonably comfy but throw over the bed, did not make you want to lie on it. Overall this Hotel is is desperate need of a makeover.

Review 18:We've stayed at budget hotels many times before but this was below the standard we expect. The outside of the building and the gardens looked derelict. In the room, the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable; something smelled unpleasant and disguised by cleaning products; the curtains were ripped and the room was generally tatty.

Review 19:The price was the reason for choosing this hotel, plus the fact that it was near the motorway.

Review 20:Wifi only available in reception, would be nice to have it in the room. Would be nice to have a microwave available in the dining room/reception rather then having to ask the receptionist to hot up our microwave dinners

Review 21:Easy to find and the receptionist was more than helpful

Review 22:Surly and rude staff member at reception had to trawl through paperwork to eventually find our booking after he insisted we didn't have a place originally. The toilet door (a cheap sliding one) didn't fit properly and was appalling. Only ONE hour for free wifi?

Review 23:Cheap and functional bed for a night

Review 24:Room smelled damp when we arrived Ground-floor room window did not close properly Rude member of staff at breakfast Bed was very low for mature couple

Review 25:Covenient location for overnight stay

Review 26:The outside needed a touch of paint and weeding!!!

Review 27:The rooms were clean with special touches like folded toilet paper! and breakfast was good value, well presented.

Review 28:shower leaked when used, in bathroom . Entry light not working in room.

Review 29:close to amenities, basic but comfortable. Plenty of outside space to walk a dog. A no fuss hotel

Review 30:Maintenance could have been better. For instance, the sliding door to our bathroom had come off its rails. The shower is fed from the wash basin, and shares the same hot/cold controls, so one had to poke a hand through the curtains to adjust them - but it wasn't a real problem! My major concern was that the hotel parking area is not in any way private. It is lit, but not brightly and therefore it is most advisable not to leave anything of value in your car overnight.

Review 31:The room was basic but comfortable. It wasn't large, but there was good space for suitcases, etc. There was a decent breakfast, with a wide choice. There is a Lidl grocery virtually next door, and plenty of eating choices close by. There is an all night side access door operated by a key code, so dining out late is no problem. However, be warned that there is no automatic guest registration and the reception desk closes at 11pm. The hotel faces directly on to the main road through Chambry de Tours, and is easy to find.

Review 32:The pillows were small and uncomfortable. The radiator in the room was not working and so the evening/ night was cold - although there was a spare blanket to put on the bed. Separation from ensuite to bedroom was ill fitting concertina door. Shower was just a pipe off the basin. When the basin was filled with water the pipe underneath gave way and water flooded down onto the floor.

Review 33:There was nothing to dislike

Review 34:Friendly staff, price good value, room basic but very clean with all you needed. Breakfast good value. They happliy let us fill up our flask with hot water so we could take with us for the next stage of our journey

Review 35:the location was about 7 km from the centre of Tours, which is 30 minutes drive (it's a 30km/hour zone so driving slowly..) There are no buses, so if you don't have a car your are stuck at this place without nothing close (no restaurants, supermarket, anything...)

Review 36:Really good value for money, simple check in, good French breakfast, everything was as expected

Review 37:Receptionist - Excellent - polite, and very helpful. Room clean & tidy. Exactly right for a night's stopover. Lots of restaurants nearby. Satnav - use latitude & longitude.

Review 38:The shower linked to the wash basin tap. If the shower-head is lefthooked up, the water runs down along the hose and on to the floor andthere is water everywhere. Very good price through Booking.co, tooexpensive for this type of hotel if booked at the hotel (€56). Breakfastrather pricey (€8) but worth it. The bed and mattress looked new andclean but there was no mattress protector.

Review 39:The price (€30) through Booking.com. A mirror in the room. Plenty oflights and sockets. Very nice breakfast with dried fruit, fresh fruitsalad, cheese, ham hard-boiled eggs besides the usual.

Review 40:There were no in room tea/coffee making facilities (essential after a days driving). The lack of secure parking introduced a worry, but fortunately the car was intact in the morning.

Review 41:The receptionist was very helpful & advised on local restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed a meal in the local French restaurant about 100 metres away. OK for a nights stop over, but the area was not conducive to a longer stay.

Review 42:The door handle had fallen off, the door to the bathroom did not shut and the room had a "smell".

Review 43:Value for money as it was a simple hotel with the basics.

Review 44:Bathroom a bit small - but you get what you pay for. Glad we booked early and didn't pay full rate otherwise we would have been upset.

Review 45:Very Good Price. Easy to find.

Review 46:very dirty in the room, in toilet, on the wall....very bad smell....the worst accomodation ever...

Review 47:nothing ...

Review 48:Wi fi was difficult. Bathrooms need upgrading

Review 49:Price

Review 50:Comfortable room and good breakfast for the price.

Review 51:unable to contact the hotel by phone for exact directions. shower was appalling and water temp/pressure fluctuated dramatically

Review 52:on site parking

Review 53:Location, no tea making facilities

Review 54:Basic but at least sheets were clean! Breakfast and location ok but doubt would revisit.

Review 55:Nothing

Review 56:Very friendly staff

Review 57:they definitely should extend wifi for guest rooms, not only reception. the room was a bit smelly.

Review 58:Receptionist talked English very good.

Review 59:The really bad smell of stale smoke in the rooms.

Review 60:Tired - needed some maintenance

Review 61:Value for money and well located near motorway

Review 62:1st given a smelly smokers room, area feels like an industrial estate,

Review 63:Price, on the main road.

Review 64:The leak in the shower

Review 65:The low price

Review 66:Convenient location for a stop-off on the way to south of France from the Shuttle

Review 67:Very dirty looking inside and out I stayed there around 4 years ago it was much better and cleaner. Very gloomy now

Review 68:None

Review 69:Breakfast brill, good value for a 2 star hotel

Review 70:Above average for the price.

Review 71:It's not a two stars hotel. It's a budget hotel. Cigarette smoke odor in the room is persistent.

Review 72:Bathroom

Review 73:Clean

Review 74:Privacy not good for toilet concertina door in between bedroom.

Review 75:washing room coming from ages Wellcome of the person behind the counter was really not acceptable.

Review 76:It's noisy. The internet is free because it is not working.

Review 77:A little paint and a smile from the reception staff would make this hotel a lot more user friendly.

Review 78:Easy to find once we knew, but the GPS navigation put us on the wrong course

Review 79:breakfast

Review 80:French TV :)

Review 81:All facilities for budget money. Nice!

Review 82:no AC personnel was very unhelpful

Review 83:nothing

Review 84:no resturant

Review 85:easy access

Review 86:Hotel didn't look anything like photograph on the website; access was a little difficult; and in-room wifi was a hassle. For starters, it is apparently not available in every room, and then one has to log-on every 60 minutes. Also the shower was cheesy -- the shower runs off the tap in the sink?

Review 87:Staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good; with a nice variety and options.

Review 88:The cups of coffee were rather expensive! We didn't have the breakfast as dogs were not allowed in the dining room so cannot comment on it's quality or value for money.

Review 89:BOOK ON THIS SITE THOUGH! They will charge almost double if you just walk in and ask for a rate. We sat in the lobby on the internet and booked with booking.com to save over 30 Euros.

Review 90:It was reasonably priced, we just needed a place near the highway to stay overnight and it did the trick. Nothing special, no frills but clean and decently comfortable.

Review 91:Wifi only works in reception area. Room is very small. No living furniture except for beds. No air conditioning for summer.

Review 92:Breakfast only with extra payment

Review 93:Nothing whatsoever to complain about.

Review 94:Excellent for someone who needs an overnight stay, not seeking luxury. Small, clean room with all the facilities one needs for one / few nights. Excellent buffet breakfast - very good choice and variety of breakfast food on offer.

Review 95:The manager of this establishment greeted us by warmly. She spoke English very well and was very helpful in indicating areas of the city that may be of interest to us. She had a lot of literature to assist us. The room was very clean and compact. The temperature was perfect indoors, there was an extra blanket for us if we got cold during the night, plenty of hanging space in the open robe, a new looking cover on the bed and a generally very pleasant-smelling room. The location is excellent. Far enough away from the city of Tours so that we weren't bothered by heavy traffic, but close enough to get into the lovely, historic city easily. We thoroughly recommend this establishment to anyone who visits the area.

Review 96:The receptionist on arrival was grumpy. The receptionist in the morning was very good.

Review 97:It was not clean nor comfortable. We could not wait to get out of there.

Review 98:The bathroom.

Review 99:The bed and location were ok.

Review 100:A convenient location close to the motorway. A typical French budget hotel ideal for a one night stay.

Review 101:Clean and reasonably priced

Review 102:The bedrooms and beds

Review 103:not a thing

Review 104:Ideal for a cheap convenient overnight stay. Good breakfast.

Review 105:Very quiet location and convenient for dining out. Comfortable rooms and low price.

Review 106:The beds where inconvenient.

Review 107:The ensuite toilet was very minimal/basic

Review 108:Convenient and easy to find

Review 109:Very good access to motorway
