Review 1：Quite friendly staff ready to help Location quite good, close to the biggest shopping street, so you can walk directly to the old city in 15-20 minutes. Parking on the street is quite empty so no problem to find the place for the car. During the night its is free and from 9 am about 1 eur per hour - so no high costs for 1 night stay

Review 2：We left a kindle behind and we are hoping they will send it back at our expense obviously. However they are only being moderately helpful about posting it. We have now rung 5 times and they always say ring back later.

Review 3：The hotel is nothing like its name Moderne but it was fine. The rooms were quiet despite its central location. The staff were friendly.

Review 4：Would be better if the receptionist can speak a bit more of English, would be even better if there is English TV channel available. There is not much soundproofing in the room, you can hear next door's TV. They really need a clean for the shower box.

Review 7：A bit difficult to put the car somewhere whilst checking in - narrow road with bollards - but reasonable public parking nearby, only 3.5 euros for 24 hours. Also, some problem with our toilet meant we had to use the one upstairs for 1 of our 3 nights.

Review 8：Excellent central location, close to Place Jean Jaures, 100 metres from Galeries Lafayette and Rue Nationale. Good, supportive comfortable bed. Friendly & helpful staff. Decent French breakfast buffet. Very reasonable price, overall.

Review 9：We had booked a family room for a night stop over to our destination. I realised the room would be basic but it was really very shabby. On opening the door, the door knob fell off inside which we had to try and fix to get out of the room. The carpets were very dirty and so was the bathroom. The shower didn't work so we had to have a bath and neither did the hairdryer, in fact it when I pressed 'on' it lit up with a little flame inside! My youngest son had a pull up bed which collapsed 3 times during the night. It was very hot and we didn't have a fan in the room either. I had also booked a night on the way back but decided to cancel this booking. I phoned the hotel 5 days before our booking to cancel. I am very disappointed as the hotel took payment form my account for this cancelled reservation and on calling them three times( the manager wouldn't come to speak) I was told I would receive a refund. I haven't received my refund 2 weeks on and feel upset that I have been lied too. I would not recommend this hotel to stay in.

Review 11：Friendly staff, extremely helpful in bringing my luggage upstairs. Very comfortable and well-provisioned room with good lighting, good water pressure in the shower, good wifi, large desk space, mini-fridge. Decor and carpet were old, but all seemed clean. Overall, very livable place.

Review 14：The room was shabby, with inadequate shower protection for the floor (it got soaked) and the pillows were disgusting. Also, free parking was offered - this was only for twenty minutes, but then we had to walk to a public car park and leave the car there. Was not at all as advertised.

Review 16：Hotel Moderne is a conveniently located budget hotel in the center of Tours close to the railroad station, the tourist office, and many restaurants of different types. It is an older hotel, but has a certain charm. There is decent cable TV with mostly French, but also some international channels. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful.

Review 25：The hotel was nothing more, nothing less than what I've expected. Comfortable and clean rooms, close to the gare and city center. The receptionists were kind, helping with the luggage and one of them even offered a croissant when we were leaving early in the morning, when the delivery had just arrived.

It was super hot the week we were there, like 90's and there wasn't any a/c. They did however have a small fan they let us use. It was almost sufficient...lol... I heard it's rare that it ever hits 90's so there you go. Have fun, I'd stay there again.

Review 39：It was very quaint. Clean. The front desk staff were fun and very kind! Close to markets, the Loire, outdoor activities very accessible, the new tram, H&M and other clothing stores close by, and Rue Nationale (main street like). Really safe area.

Review 90：Every staff member we met was incredibly friendly, helpful and good humored. We arrived early and were able to check in after a very short wait. While we were waiting we were offered a complimentary hot or cold beverage. The staff was knowledgeable about restaurants in the area, and there were many brochures for things to do. The room (for 4 adults) was spacious, the beds were comfortable and overall the room was clean. The windows opened for fresh air, the heaters worked at night and fresh towels were provided when necessary. The breakfast was tasty (croissants, baguette, confiture, cold cereal, dried fruit, dates, yogurt, various cheese and sliced meat and eggs. Several choices of juice, tea and coffee were available too).

Review 97：The hotel is central to everything in Tours. The staff are lovely!! Helpful and friendly. Whilst the hotel had no lift, the gentleman in reception insisted on taking my bag to my room. The room was basic but very, very clean. The room contained a fridge which must be a first in France!! Breakfast was simple but again wonderful friendly service. I liked this hotel very much. A good budget choice. WiFi available.

Review 98：They could improve communication between staff. We were told about a car parking deal by one member of staff which the others didn't know about but that made a big difference.

Review 99：The price is excellent. The rooms and bathroom were clean. The staff were helpful. The breakfast, for an extra 9 euros, is plentiful and high quality. The location is very good too, right in the middle of town. If you are on a budget I couldn't think of much better.

Review 102：because the hotel was 2 star we were expecting a bit of a dump, but the hotel was so quaint and comfortable and the room was spacious and cosy. The staff were friendly and one woman in particular spoke excellent english. Its a very homely and well maintained hotel. The location was excellent, only a five minute walk from the train station and in the middle of tours, we walked everywhere! I would recommend this to anyone coming to Tours as the value for money is excellent
