Reviews for Escale Oceania Vannes Centre
Review 1:The room layout was not very impressive as the "open fronted" wardrobe was very close to one side of the bed and my husband collided with it in the dark causing a huge lump and grazing on his forehead.
Review 2:The location enabled us to leave the car in the secure parking and walk to the shops, port and other tourist attractions.
Review 3:We had the worst meal ever. 2 choices on starters but 1 available - no smoked salmon. We order lott (monkfish) for main course. It was hard, dark grey and completely inedible - the only response was that we were wrong and the fish was fresh.
Review 4:Excellent disabled parking spot right outside. Staff very agreeable. Bar area adequate
Review 5:It is located just off a major road and just a little bit of a walk to the city centre. The bedroom was a tad small.
Review 6:The room was spotless and comfortable with a great bathroom. Breakfast was good
Review 7:Tal vez no leyeron bien las observaciones de nuestra reserva que yendo con nuestra hija de 3 años no pusieron una almohada mas y un juego de toallas para ella, como si nos ocurrió en otro escale Oceanía de otra ciudad.
Review 8:they had no wine at all and the restaurant was closed on a Friday.
Review 9:Fantastic, friendly staff, good communication skills and ready to give any information asked of them.
Review 10:We had a room looking at the street so we had to keep our windows closed all the time because of the noise.
Review 11:It was very tidy and the stuff was pleasant.
Review 12:The room was so tiny!! It was almost impossible to move around in the bathroom, the beds took up ALL of the room, no coffee or tea, absolutely no amenities, however we wanted to run the air conditioning and at least that worked. Definitely think twice about getting a double room, it was ridiculously small, we are very small people yet we couldn't move around at all. I wanted to stop at a grocery store for some wine and other items, it was already closed, the front desk person said their bar offered glasses of alcohol. The menu showed wine, yet they said they were completely out of wine of any kind even though it was only 8:00pm in the evening and this is France! How can a french hotel bar not have wine!!!
Review 13:Air conditioning. Parking was ok, but pricey. Location was good, but is 15-20 minute walk to the city center, but definitely doable. Lots to see in this town.
Review 14:Our twin-bed room was very small , with only one chair . Restaurant is " okay " with friendly service , but no more than that and only open from monday to thursday for dinner till 9.30 p.m. !! So friday , saturdays and sunday have go out for a meal in town .
Review 15:Good beds and fine shower . Clean room . Wifi . Elevator . Parking . Taxi from or to railwaystation : 5 - 7 euro .
Review 16:This three star hotel was surprisingly good. Excellent bathroom facilities, complimentary tea and coffee in the room and extremely helpful staff. additionally, the location facilitates easy access to the historic centre of the town and numerous restaurants.
Review 17:Extremely small rooms, almost plastic like feeling. Not suitable for a couple and one child, even that it was a 'confort triple' This misleading statement should really be corrected. Everything is cafeteria style. Poor breakfast.
Review 18:Staff
Review 19:That there was no restaurant for the days I was there.
Review 20:After traveling 31 hours from Australia, I discovered when I turned up at hotel that I had booked the wrong dates. They organised a room for me and suggested that I ring Booking.com which I did. Booking.com and the hotel sorted out the problem. Thanks to both groups

Review 43:Location
Review 44:Modern clean great staff & location
Review 45:Proximity to the old town, and the convenience of a secure parking space on site.
Review 46:Nothing, really.
Review 47:Comfortable room with {very quiet} air con. Very good shower. Exceptionally clean. Pleasant staff. We will, I am sure, return.
Review 48:Hotel is situated very close to centre of Vannes where there are good restaurants, and plenty to see and do.
Review 49:Friendly staff.
Review 50:Good location, close to city centre. Secure, under cover parking on-site.
Review 51:dull view over a road and flats from our bedroom. Parking restricted in Vannes so best to use the hotel car park at extra cost.
Review 52:clean modern hotel with friendly staff, quality breakfast with good choice, convenient if not lovely location.
Review 53:Can't complain; it's a budget hotel that does a good job.
Review 54:Nice and clean, friendly helpful staff, comfy bed, room was adequate and the wifi was good enough to watch a movie. Good location with secure parking on site.
Review 55:Nothing. Just a suggestion that a tea/coffee making facility in the room would be welcome.
Review 56:This was our 4th visit to this hotel as a couple or with friends and we are never disappointed. The staff are friendly, the room pleasant and very clean. The breakfast has lots of choice and is excellent.
Review 57:Our room was disappointingly small with very little room to pass between the beds and the wall.
Review 58:The location was excellent. Good to have parking on site. Breakfasts very good It was a very pleasant place to stay.
Review 59:Access difficult as the road was closed that evening and it is on a busy roundabout in the centre of town.
Review 60:Very good bed, bedroom and bathroom Good parking nearby but Hotel carpark is small.
Review 61:The cost of eating and drinking out was expensive and the food quality didn'y always match the price.
Review 62:Vannes is a truly beautiful city with its heritage immaculately preserved. The fairytale ambiance together with the endless floral displays make it a place well worth visiting.
Review 63:Location is not beautiful - on a busy roundabout on edge of old city. This did not bother us, but we were only staying 2 nights, any longer and I would have preferred a more attractive location. In our opinion, the short walk into town was as safe as any, just scenically challenging for the first 150m!
Review 64:Super, modern, well designed 3* hotel within 5 mins walk of ancient centre of Vannes, and easy access to surrounding areas by car. Rooms are compact, but functional due to sensible design. Showerooms & separate WC in each room work well. Hotel is spotlessly clean, staff are friendly, breakfast buffet is perfectly adequate. (11euros/pp). Vannes is a super city, located on the beautiful Golfe du Morbihan - great for walking / cycling / sailing / bird watching activities. Vannes itself is a beautiful old city, though beware - it 'closes' on Sundays and Mondays affecting most shops, restaurants and even the tourist info office!
Review 65:Really beautiful hotel, friendly staff, room not too small and very clean. The design bathroom is really beautiful, clean and with a big shower. Good position just 50-100m from old city center. I strongly suggest this hotel and I'll come back here, if I can.
Review 66:I have never met such misaeable bar staff in all the world.. They need a lesson in how to treat the paying customer who pays their wages.. Sorry for the moan but it is justified..
Review 67:The design of the room is a disaster ie: No mirror over the desk/dressing table. No socket anywhere near to the large mirror. The wardrobe and desk are in the wrong places meaning that two people trying to move at the same time was very difficult. The spring loaded doors are so strong that it is very awkward to open the door and carry cases into the room. The entrance to the joining garage was most difficult as the steps are steep, the door spring is too strong and the sensor for opening the door means that you have to put your cases down to to that..There is no cover from the hotel to this dangerous garage entrance. The layout of the tables at breakfast meant that one had to squeeze between people to get to the buffet - it's so easy to get it right ??? Nice Hotel but appalling design and the room was not female friendly at all.
Review 68:Comfortable beds Good food Friendly staff
Review 69:No easy free car park, but in fact with the 3 spaces immediately outside and the public street at 100m it was not too difficult.
Review 70:High quality room fittings, very clean comfortable bed, excellent bathroom.
Review 71:Whilst modern, clean and smart this is not a 'faux posh' hotel - but the staff are far more friendly & helpful than you could find in many a hotel at twice the price.
Review 72:Unfortunately the bedrooms were absoloutely tiny. We had booked two interconnecting rooms as we have three children. If the doors were open between the rooms it was nearly impossible to get to the door or bathroom. The facilities were a bit basic.
Review 73:The bedrooms were very clean and it was only a 10 minute walk to the old/harbour parts of Vannes. The shower in the bathroom was excellent and it was a well designed space. Cleanliness was fantastic and liked the fact that there is a seperate wc.
Review 74:The immediate walk into town is not exactly pleasant, with a subwayunder the busy road outside and a concrete stairway not very wellsignposted the other side, if we had gone out to town in the dark notknowing the area we would have found it unpleasant.
Review 75:We felt good during our overnight stay. We had a professional andpleasant reception from staff; we liked the modern and stylish decor ofour en-suite bedroom; we thought the shower was really good; the carpark facilities were good. We enjoyed our breakfast (we are vegetarian, but there was enough choice for us). Generally, although not cheap, thishotel was good value for money.
Review 76:The only problem we had was the road closure at the end of the accessroad to the hotel.Eventually we found a way round to the convenient carpark well within walking distamce.
Review 77:The hotel is situated within easy reach of the town and restaurants. Wewould certainly stay there again.
Review 78:nothing
Review 79:Great breakfast
Review 80:The parking of the hotel is small and often complete. The room was VERY small.
Review 81:the good position, some parkings nearby.
Review 82:Really small rooms
Review 83:Very good wifi. Good location. Good shower
Review 84:Reasonable price. Well placed. Parking. Pleasing rooms
Review 85:Everything was ok. Good facilities. Location is a bit out of the center, but its 10 min walk.
Review 86:On the edge of town.
Review 87:Friendly, English-speaking staff.
Review 88:Rooms are very small but manageable
Review 89:Good location, good selection at breakfast
Review 90:Very friendly staff and a great location. The hotel is cheap for its location and facilities
Review 91:Charge me the standard room rate , not wjhat was agreed with booking.com
Review 92:Secure parking, excellenyt location, friendly & attentive staff.
Review 93:Price of breakfast was high.
