Reviews for PR Magallanes

Review 1:We didn't realize it was so far from the town center, but it worked out fine in the end.

Review 2:Friendly and helpful owner and workers/family. Shiny clean everywhere and delicious cooking!

Review 3:Our room was right next to the railways and we could hear the train while in the room (thankfully there is no train during the night). Hotel not really close to the city centre.

Review 4:Nice, clean place, friendly staff. Free and fast wifi available in the rooms. You get the outside key so you can come and go at any times of day or night. Free parking nearby.

Review 5:Friendly and helpful

Review 6:Be aware of road noise and train.

Review 7:Convienent location, free on street parking. Good shower. Good enough hostal.

Review 8:Hard to find.

Review 9:Affordable and comfortable place to stay. Nicely furnished rooms with good facalitys.

Review 10:The hotel is a bit far from the city centre, if you are coming on the train from Gijon it's better to get off at one station before the centre - it leaves you very close to the hotel. Also, the city doesn't have much potential so don't make it more than just a day trip.

Review 11:The owner of the hotel was really nice and I was nicely surprised by how good English she spoke. She told me what to see in the city. The hotel was a very good value for money.

Review 12:The family were so kind and helpful. Ferrol itself doesn't have a lot to offer a traveller but the daughter drove me around the coast nearby where there was some lovely scenery - 600m cliffs and wild horses. The mum washed my clothes for free. They were available all the time if I wanted food or to ask questions. The hostel itself is 20 minutes walk from the centre of town and very quiet. Also the hostel has a bit of history. The grandfather lived in cuba from the 20s to the 50s and sailed back on a ship called the Magallanes, the name of the hostel now.

Review 13:This place was about a 20 minute walk from the edge of the old city; further than I expected but manageable.

Review 14:Good price and friendly, helpful staff even though they didn't speak English

Review 15:A traditional Spanish bar/hotel, family run with an interesting historyassociated with its name. The founder emigrated to Cuba at approx. 13years old on the ship Magallanes and returned 27 years later to startthe business. I liked it because it seemed authentic and provided theopportunity to speak Spanish. It is a little out of town but there is aregular bus service into the centre and the port. We were welcomed andprovided with all we required at the beginning of our "camino" toSantiago de Compostela.
