Reviews for Le Hameau
Review 1:Need to fix window screen in smaller bedroom in # 16.
Review 2:Wonderful breakfasts outdoors in beautiful patio garden with full range of fruit, yogurt, eggs, pastries, cereal, fresh juice, tea, coffee etc. Within walking distance of St. Paul de Vence. Rooms furnished with antiques and comfortable. Good advice from Xavier on restaurants and best towns to visit nearby. Weather too cold to use pool but excellent view from pool area.
Review 3:This hotel is which are little individual French cottages is lovely. The grounds are beautiful with orange and lemons trees and flowers. The pool overlooking the valley of St Paul is stunning and relaxing. The walk to St Paul de Vence is less than 10 minutes, briefly on the winding road. Wonderful to experience St Paul at night when the tourists are all gone.
Review 4:The breakfast is not worth the money. The quality was not what one would expect in France. They get it probably because you have no choice. You are some what of a captive audience. The management was not particularly accommodating. They charged me for using 4 things from the mini bar that I had not used and questioned whether I was telling the truth. Probably wouldn't have questioned me if I was French.
Review 5:If one could not stay in St. Paul de Vance then it is an excellent location.
Review 6:Perfect location, marvelous exterior and interior of the hotel rooms and facilities, sun, swimming pool, nice hotel staff, very good breakfast. Fully recommended!
Review 7:As others have said ,if walking into St Paul-de- Vence there is a short part of the road that does not have a pavement and the road is quite busy.
Review 8:Beautifully appointed and facilities and grounds excellent. Staff charming and helpful Lovely pool and jacuzzi.
Review 9:Fantastic, a real gem. The setting is stunning, our room had beautiful old wooden beamed ceiling, very cosy and romantic. Nicolette at the front desk was so helpful and lovely, made us feel relaxed and at home straight away. The breakfast was excellent on the lovely patio. Lovely pool area to relax at. Short easy walk into town.
Review 10:Gym equipment needs updating.
Review 11:This hotel is a very special place. Loads of charm and gorgeous gardens, yet everything is spotlessly clean and maintained. The views are stunning - easy stroll to St Paul de Vence - just take the low road to avoid traffic on main road outside hotel. Staff want to help all the time. Breakfast is lovely - they use own home made marmalade. You feel like you are in the home of the gods in the hills!
Review 12:Breakfast should be included in the room rate, not 30euros extra per couple. Can't drink your own bottled water by the pool and a bottle costs 6euros!
Review 13:Beautiful place, so tranquil and relaxing.lovely traditional room, pretty garden, gorgeous area.
Review 14:Paying for breakfast! Always best to be included in the rate.
Review 15:Very picturesque. Quiet hotel. Nice clientele. All the necessary facilities. Great location.
Review 16:Amazing views, lovely staff, great breakfast, beautiful pool and gardens and so close to Saint Paul. Wanted to cancel the rest of our vacation and lounge by their pool for 10 days!
Review 17:We have booked with booking a room with terrace but we couldn't get what we have booked. Hotel gave us another room without terrace and without any prior notice. We claimed to the lady at the reception but no one reacted not even a word from the owner who didn't appear. WIFI connection is too bad in room 10
Review 18:The location is a breathtaking. the hotel is wow. It's like you're in your old mountain house with lot of trees. Very nice swimming pool. Rooms are unique.
Review 19:There was nothing we didn't like.
Review 20:The hotel itself was beautiful. The view was stunning and the location was second to none. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
Review 21:I did not have a car, the walk up to St. Paul for dinner was a bit hair-raising until you got to the footpath. I discovered the lower road opening about 10 metres back down from Le Hameau car park gates. It was less steep and almost no traffic, it runs past school.
Review 22:The garden setting, the wonderful view from the pool, the traditional room beautifully decorated, the caring staff.
Review 23:lack of pedestrian pathfrom property to village (pavement),
Review 24:Spot Is amazing. Great views and proximity of village and bus stop to go to Vence or to Nice. Breakfast is excellent and varied.
Review 25:Breakfast is good, but a bit expensive. Still, easy to walk into St Paul if you want to eat elsewhere. The hotel is on a curve in the road which makes getting out in a car or crossing the road (no pavements) a bit hair-raising, but nothing to be done about that, really.
Review 26:The hotel is a former farm with sprawling buildings over several levels. Lovely views, quiet and peaceful. Terrace for breakfast is very pretty and pleasant. Swimming pool was very nice but COLD!! A really nice place to spend a couple days.
Review 27:no food available as of the late afternoon; the seemingly old mattress; jaccuzzi was off
Review 28:the village like hotel (estancia), the 'petanque' area, the magnificant breakfast on the terrace, the panoramic view on St Paul and from the pool, the helpful and nice staff, etc.
Review 29:The local (lovely) old town of St Paul is almost completely deserted out of season at night. With no facilities for evening meal at the hotel and virtually every restaurant closed in the town it is hard to find somewhere to eat at night in October.
Review 30:Beautiful buildings, gardens, decor and furnishings, lighting, terraces, setting, views. Lovely spacious room and balcony.Courteous staff, lovely breakfast.
Review 31:wooden edge on second bed was (for tall person) is a bit annoying
Review 32:Excellent staff & service, well maintained, WiFi fair, free parking, nice breakfast
Review 33:Stayed here 25 years ago and found Le Hameau was still a charming French experience with a staff that was very helpful planning and during my five night stay. Delightful setting, comfortable rooms, each furnished in a country French way, delicious breakfast set in a garden filled with flowers, lemons, grapes
Review 34:Nothing comes to mind about the hotel. Walking to St Paul de Vence is a bit tricky if you are ancient!!!
Review 35:Staff attention to guests- nothing was too much trouble
Review 36:For this 4 night stay we had a bedroom with a window overlooking thevery busy road, albeit behind a hedge. The traffic noise was quite loudparticularly in the morning from 6.30.am. We were offered an alternativeroom but this could only happen two nights into our stay. We decided tostay where we were as we had been travelling for for 5 days staying in b& B's along the way and really just wanted to unpack for a whileand not re-pack after 2 days.
Review 37:We have stayed in this hotel many times. It is very well managed andbreakfasts in the garden are excellent. The pool is large with plenty ofsun-beds and umbrellas. The water is very cold. All the rooms aredifferent in size and furnishings. The hotel does not have a restaurantbut do small lunch time snacks. It is a very easy walk into St. Paul forrestaurants however you have to walk along the road and take care as thetraffic is very fast.
Review 38:The hotel is in a wonderful old set of former farm buildings with a terrific view over the valley below, and only five minutes walking from the village.
Review 39:WiFi was a bit slow, but otherwise no issues.
Review 40:Excellent location just a couple of minutes drive from St Paul De Vence town. Nice rooms and facilities. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent parking facilities.
Review 41:nothing apart from having to leave
Review 42:The hotel was perfect for a relaxing couple of days, the pool was lovely and the staff could not have been more helpful. The breakfasts were fab. It is a 10 minute walk into Saint Paul De Vence
Review 43:The overall facility was country styled elegant. The dining was very good with a superb view morning, noon and night. The staff were friendly and supportive and all could speak English.
Review 44:Authentique hotel beautifull garden Terasses with nice view.Parking.wifi free! Our room was small but we knew it in advance seen the price. With a view you pay !Roger et Gallet bathroom soaps !
Review 45:It is the perfect hotel, extraordinary views, beautiful pool, lovely staff, and was often frequented by Chagall - once you are there you will know why - also great WIFI connection in all rooms - my 3rd time there - would not miss a year
Review 46:Because we did not have a car, we needed to walk along a short stretch of the road with no sidewalk to get to town. Room was same as pictured in reservation, however description of room in booking.com listed a view of the sea from room which was not correct. Shower walls in bath could have a little more scrubbing and a different bath curtain that was less transparent.
Review 47:Well kept, charming, small buildings with a stunning overhead grape arbor and quaint gardens. Short walk into town and Foundation Maeght. Helpful, friendly staff. Nicely decorated room with a terrace. Bath had beautiful blue tiles but was a little small. Great breakfast in the garden. Even though we did not swim the pool area looked lovely and a separate terrace above had a tent with lounge chairs and great views. I would definitely stay here again.

Review 98:Very beautiful hotel
Review 99:The owner and the staff were all very friendly and helpful ; they made you feel toy were staying with friends . The atmoshere was very relaxed and the traditional french farmhouse decore very pleasant and uncorporate. The gardens were also superb and I can still(just about ) recall the wonderful smell of Jasmin as you walked down the path
Review 100:The owners were incredibly gracious and helpful when I made a mistake on my booking and turned up a week late in a very busy week ( Monaco Grand Prix and Cannes Film Festival). They saved my holiday and I had a very relaxed stay in beautiful surroundings with very friendly staff.
Review 101:Only thing we can think of is that the pillows could have been softer.
Review 102:Fantastic property, great ambience and relaxing atmosphere. Welcoming staff. Great and spacious garden with our room. Great breakfast in charming garden Infinity pool We will stay here again the next time we are in St Paul
Review 103:We liked it all!!!!!
Review 104:It is a charming inn located on a lovely hill. The views of ST. Paul de Vence were lovely and our room had a very nice patio. It was a 10 minute walk from le Hameau to the village on the hill of St. Paul de Vence. We were able to walk to dinner in the village both evenings. The staff was very helpful. We liked being able to order wine to our room. It was a very relaxing and friendly place to stay. The parking area was easy to find and quite large.
Review 105:A charming hotel in 5 minutes walk to St.Paul de Vence. The staff is friendly. Wonderful garden and beautiful view at St. Paul village and the valley.
Review 106:It's a beautiful property, very well maintained and offers wonderful service. The owners are onsite, and everything about it has a personal touch and reflects excellent taste.
Review 107:very expensive breakfast and no tea or coffee making facilities in rooms.
Review 108:The wonderful location and quaint accomodation. Excellent swimming pool and beautiful grounds.
Review 109:We had to leave early due to the time of or flight
Review 110:Helpful employees Ihave stayed there Three times now The offerings haveexpanded quite a bit, unfortunately, we were not ab.Le To use the pooland the spa area because we arrived too late in the day
Review 111:The gardener was a bit too active with his noisy leaf blower right outside the window when we were sleeping. The cost of a light breakfast was a bit steep and no snacks offered after 5pm.
Review 112:All old French furniture was polished until it shone and the whole place sparkled with cleanliness. The gardens and arbours were superbly tended with oranges lemons and grapefruit growing in abundance. A pretty infinity swimming pool with views of the coastline. Free parking with closed gates at night.
Review 113:The electronic gates were a little tough to open at night
Review 114:The ambience of the place - it felt like a true idyll. Service was excellent, facilities great and what a view!
Review 115:Nothing at all.
Review 116:What a wonderful place. All the staff were incredibly charming and helpful. The hotel isn't in St Paul but it's only 5 minutes walk (which is quite useful when working off dinner!). We didn't use the swimming pool or facilities as the weather wasn't great but it all looked very clean. The view from our balcony was simply stunning all the way across Cagnes Sur Mer to the sea. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Do bear in mind, they do snacks there up to 10pm but if you want dinner, head into St Paul.
Review 117:Cold pool!
Review 118:All the rooms and furnishings are different and unique - very frenchprovencal.Fantastic location for restaurants - no car needed for short break
Review 119:nothing to prevent me staying again. more attentive service by the pool would be good but it is a 2 minute walk to reception so not a big deal really.
Review 120:we stayed in room 18 which is a suite with a terrace and was a good sized, comfortable room and great to have a drink on the terrace. the general feel of the place is a relaxing hamlet. it was very peaceful. the service and general facilities are a good 3/4 star and not as stuffy as some 5star places are. parking is good and it is a ten minute walk to St. Paul but there is a good 'locals' restaurant 5 minutes away.
