Reviews for Hôtel Amethyste
Review 1:Hotel fixtures, decoration and common areas could do with refurbishment but kept clean.
Review 2:Excellent location-nice area-village square and close to beach. Friendly helpful staff (even when the attached grocery caught light and the fire engines arrived)!
Review 3:Taxi taxi taxi .... Rubbish at the airport there just not there for you please pre book ......I called this hotel and thankfully they sent me a taxi straight away ...again thanks to Danny
Review 4:My friend and I had a very pleasant three nights at this hotel ..Danny was wonderful and helped us out several times re places to visit and eat .. She spoke English very well and was very kind
Review 5:The beds were dreadful, really really hard, we didn't get a decent nights rest for the entire stay.
Review 6:Great location and the staff were really lovely and went out of their way to be helpful.
Review 7:I think if you are travelling with very small children then the stars up to the bedroom area are too steep.
Review 8:Brilliant location, near the beach in a very pretty suburb of Dinard. Everything was comfortable and clean with self catering facilities which would save you a lot if you were travelling with a family. Not a lot of facilities in the hotel but you know that as it is a 2 star.
Review 9:5 euros a beer from the hotel bar - but it was completely worth it!!! :-)
Review 10:Everything was fine... not directly downtown but about 5 minutes walk and free parking (or almost free) in front of the hotel...
Review 11:No in room WiFi. WiFi only available in reception. This was also very poor - it took over 2 hours to book our next night's stay. Street parking only - you need to be there early to get a spot nearby.
Review 12:Not much - breakfast was okay.
Review 13:No designated parking, which would be difficult during the summer season, but was not a problem in mid October..
Review 14:The position, close to the beach, but within easy walking distance from the town of Dinard. Lovely fountain and gardens opposite. Quiet and comfortable. Management friendly. Nice breakfast.
Review 15:It was tiny, stairs we incredibly steep, the top bunk was really difficult to access even for a very fit agile 12 year old, the bathroom smelled of sewage
Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:The Shower had damp patches on the ceiling and walls and the room needed a make over
Review 18:The hotel location was near the restaurants at the beach(about 10 min walk) and the staff were friendly. recommend this hotel for a short stay only(no more then 2 x nights max)
Review 19:You need to climb stairs, there is no lift.
Review 20:Very clean, in the centre of the quaint village of St Enogat - much nicer than Dinard. Only a step from the sea, surrounded by several cafe's, restaurants, bars, paticeries. Excellent beds, good walking and only 20mins from the Ferry Port. My favorite Hotel in all France!
Review 21:bathroom tiny and old fashioned noisy at night from bar nearby room felt cold and echoey
Review 22:shutters good at keeping light out extra pillows and blankets our bikes were stored safely
Review 23:Very tired accomodation
Review 24:Location
Review 25:Neant
Review 26:La situation geographique
Review 27:Helpful and friendly staff
Review 28:1980,s
Review 29:Too much noise - near staircase. Overpriced.
Review 30:Near sea.
Review 31:Decor a bit dated.
Review 32:Location,friendly staff and large bathroom.
Review 33:No
Review 34:The studio provided a comfortable location to visit the beach and nearby Dinard and Dinan
Review 35:Our room didn't have curtains.
Review 36:The staff were very helpful - they ordered us a taxi from the airport.
Review 37:We had a quiet room. Which we had asked for. The receptionist was very helpful and curteous. Breakfast was also good.
Review 38:bed not very comfortable
Review 39:location
Review 40:Uncomfortable Beds Had to ask for Tea and Coffee facilities. Very Basic Room. Lack of facilities to put clothes. Breakfast was very samey. Same Breakfast every day.
Review 41:The Location and the friendliness of Staff. It was close to Beach. Lovely Weather.
Review 42:stairs up to bedroom very steep when you have a toddler.
Review 43:Beside the beach and restaurants the manageress let us stay as long as we wanted on checking out as our boat wasn't until 7pm that evening.
Review 44:Duplex stairs were more like a ladder than a staircase. They would be a real danger for elderly or very young people. Since the toilet was downstairs, anyone who needs to get up at night to use a toilet could have real difficulty.Shower stall very tiny.
Review 45:Well equipped kitchenette, very clean rooms, very near the beach and many restaurants but also only a short walk into the town center. Helpful staff.
Review 46:If I had to criticise, the shower cabinet is very small and there was sometimes a faint smell of drains. We couldn't locate the source of this smell.
Review 47:The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast with freshly cooked omelette, ham cheese and crepes. We were in Dinard for the annual Film Festival Britannique and were very happy and comfortable here. It was about 10 or 15 minutes walk to the Arts Centre but an attractive area in its own right with local bars, restaurants shops and beach. We had a duplex room with good little fridge and cooking facilities which was handy for drinks and making late night snacks.
Review 48:The location, near the beach. The room was split into a downstairs area and an upstairs one, which is useful for families. Also there was a small kitchen.
Review 49:just several little things: lots of dust on the lamp, light bulb not working and it took two days to get it changed, noisy early in the morning when trash is picked up
Review 50:good location (close to beach and cafes/restaurants); nice to be able to book a room with little kitchen
Review 51:The description of the apartment is not correct. Wasn't cheap either.
Review 52:We liked the environs with all the small shops. The baker's, the butcher's, the greengrocer's ....... And the beach was nice. Our room, however, was 5 square metre! One lamp and no windows. A steep ladder leading to a sleeping room upstairs. Good for a young couple buying fast food and just want a place to sleep.
Review 53:The bathroom could have been cleaner (grout between tiles) Had to holdthe shower head as it wouldn't attach to the wall.
Review 54:The location was perfect. The Bistro attached was pricey, but good.Lovely room.
Review 55:Not really a dislike, but we were glad that we didn't weigh 15 stone aswe would have been jammed in the bathroom! Didn't bother us but it wasvery narrow.
Review 56:We had a very pleasant welcome, and we loved the location, 2 mins to thesea and Dinards spectacular coastal path. A good choice of restaurantsclose by for our evening meal. Helpful directional advice on leaving. All in all an enjoyable stay and we would definitely go there again.
Review 57:We were in a duplex for 4 people. There was a double bed and bunk bedsup an almost loft type stairs/ladder. So good for being separate fromour young girls. However, the shower cubicle doors were falling off andat the bottom of the doors there was lots of years of dirt. Nice cleantowels and linen though so it was bearable. It is only worth 2 starsthough and would all be described as basic.
Review 58:It was an excellent location near to the beach and lovely bakery, cashpoint and convenience store. Beautiful beach. Proprietors were veryfriendly and helpful. It was a fair price.
Review 59:In lounge part of our room, only had one outside chair for furnitureother than table and chairs. Sofa would have been nice.
Review 60:Close to beach, excellent helpful staff, great for self catering, everything supplied and convenience store and boulangerie next door.
Review 61:Excellent small friendly hotel in wonderful location minutes from thesandy beach. Staff extremely friendly and helpful and rooms all keptvery clean. This was our second visit and will return.
Review 62:My only complaint was that there was no mirror on the wall in thebedroom above the table, just two small and very insignificant pictures- a mirror would have been much more useful.
Review 63:The staff were really friendly and made us welcome. The room was a bitsmall but was acceptable. We liked that they changed the towels everyday (not always the case in even posher hotels!).
Review 64:My son, who is over six foot, found the bed a little short.....
Review 65:Pleasant little seaside hotel that does what it says on the tin: puts you up for the night affordably, unpretentiously, and in reasonable comfort. Rather like a place from an old French film, in fact, very welcoming and characteristic - quite a find. There's no view of the sea, but the location is great, just up from a small sandy cove, in an interesting corner with a villagey atmosphere, packed with small shops, friendly restaurants, bars, and even two top class boulangeries. Despite the lively location, when we were there it was very quiet with no traffic or noise at night. Plenty of parking just outside (off season, anyway). The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast not much more than average for a French pension. The room was small, but clean and perfectly adequate for the price. I wouldn't stay here on holiday for a week, but as an overnight stop or even an affordable romantic break it would be perfect.
Review 66:There was no extractor fan in the en-suite and no window so the dampatmosphere caused a musty, mouldy smell. The room was very basic and wi-fi is only accessible in the lobby area of the "hotel", though "hostel"would be a more appropriate description. The continental breakfast wasvery disappointing, very basic and very little choice.
Review 67:Location is not far from Dinard airport, with choice of local shops andcafes. Reasonably comfortable bed with lovely clean white cotton bedlinen and towels. Plentiful supply of very hot water.
Review 68:The receptionist was very helpful and given me good inform and even print out timetables for me. The furniture though ordinary yet the room is always very clean and warm. We both enjoyed our stay!
Review 69:Hotel Manager is excellent, so hospitable and made us feel really welcome and comfortable :-)
Review 70:I know St Enogat very well. The hotel is well situated in the village.Hotel has a restaurant adjacent.Klems ideal, fabulous food and lovely staff.
Review 71:No lift (old folk) Hotel in need of refurb.
Review 72:Soem people might not like the romm layout but we were fine with it.
Review 73:location friendly staff clean linen
Review 74:bed was hard and wasn't full size so was small for us
Review 75:clean and plenty of hot water
Review 76:the stairs to the third floor are dangerous
Review 77:small room
Review 78:Location, very clean
