Reviews for Le Mas De Pierre
Review 1:breakfast at 30.- euros is simply disappointing. heating system in one room did not work and minibar was degustingly dirty. staff more then unefficient
Review 2:the setting is gorgeous. nice pool, nice bar
Review 3:Five senses experience. Sight. Aesthetic architecture. Smell. Aromatic botanic gardens Touch. Bushes, sculptures in the gardens, water spring. Sounds. Birds early in the morning. Taste. Excellent food parading inside my pallette. Service is outstanding. The gym and spa are separately next to the pool and gives a zen like feeling early in the morning. Location is excellent next to ST Paul de Vence. We felt we were alone but found out the hotel was full. Sense of privacy and exclusivity
Review 4:We enjoyed everyday there. One of the best hotels we have stayed at and we will book this again next year.
Review 5:A wonderful resort with an outstanding staff.
Review 6:Breakfast Buffet was not that good.
Review 7:It is a beautifull very french hotel surrounded by gardens. The rooms are gorgeous, very confortable and nicely decorated. All rooms have a small terrace with a beautifull view to the surroundings. Great food and service at the restaurant for dining.
Review 8:The hotel service was not up to the mark. The front desk was very helpful but the waiters/restaurant staff was not attentive. I had to ask for spoons, hot water etc many times (up to 3 times) at breakfast. They seated us at a table but didn't bother to clean the table and set up place settings while there were bread crumbs of the previous guests on the table cloth. The breakfast itself was average as everything was quite cold. The dinner service was better and the food was good. Our room was nice but felt like it was extremely dated as the furniture was very old and seemed a little worn out. The concierge did not help us very much when asked about what we should do in neighbouring towns and cities.
Review 9:Brilliant location near St Paul de Vence and Cannes so ideal for driving around. Lovely grounds and gardens as well.
Review 10:Lovely view from our room. Great balcony where we had room service for dinner the 1st night. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant the 2nd night which was superb! Great spa with steam room sauna and lovely outdoor pool with lounges. Just a short drive to Saint Paul de Vence village. Beautiful gardens.
Review 11:Our room was very small - even for the region and especially for the price. There were a lot of mosquitos in the hotel garden - had a dozen bites in 2 days. Hotel shuttle service is poorly organized and left us stranded for an hour. The gym is cramped, hot and in poor condition - basically 3 machines with a pathetic selection of weights.
Review 12:A beautiful hotel in a decent location. The pool was beautiful. Generally great service, albeit with one major hiccup. Free Rolls Royce ride to our restaurant was the highlight.
Review 13:To explore st paul it's a little bit too far to walk in easily however staff were very accommodating and brought a shuttle forward for us. Wish we had stayed more than one night!
Review 14:The bedrooms were beautiful- each with their own balcony. Stunning pool and gardens… and the staff were incredibly helpful.
Review 15:Having to leave was the only unpleasant feature.
Review 16:A complete pleasure. Physically stunning with every convenience. The pool is a standout. Breakfast was almost decadent
Review 17:-mosquitos -a bit far from village, you should go by a car. -it's not a problem but age average is so high :)
Review 18:-staff are so kind and helpful -they gave a bouqet to my wife -rooms and hotel are lovely and clean
Review 19:As we didn't have a car we relied on hotel shuttle for transport, which was wonderful (staff very accommodating) but felt bit far away from town etc for dining. Breakfast very expensive.
Review 20:Quiet location & spacious, very comfortable room. Beautiful outdoor pool area to enjoy.
Review 21:Air Conditioning in the room could have been better, breakfast a bit on the expensive side.
Review 22:Overall great service, great facilities. Nice location away from the hustle of the city.
Review 23:Breakfast expensive and not the highest quality.
Review 24:Great location. Nice pool. Good shuttle service to St Paul De Vence. Easy travel to other attractive places. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy valet parking that is free.
Review 25:The staff, always with a positive and helpful attitude. Although not close to the old town, the van transportation service is very good. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful.
Review 26:The staff, the lunch, the beautiful kept gardens, the girls & treatment at the spa, the delicious dinner in the evening, the driver who took us round the village in the lovely Rolls Royce, the extremely comfortable beds & the peacefulness of the hotel, last but not least the two singers at our lunch, just fabulous!!!!!
Review 27:Dreadful WIFI, people reserved their place around the pool early morning so things were quite full and many children were playing and quite loud in the small pool area
Review 28:Beautiful location, excellent facilities
Review 29:Restaurant prices are unbelievably expensive- although the food was amazing- €30 for a salad is too much. Wifi was non-existent unless sitting in the reception
Review 30:Amazing hotel and a total treat! Fab pool and great music night on a thurs! Pool amazing and staff couldn't do more for u
Review 31:Bar area not always staffed and had to go in search of bartender on occasions
Review 32:Friendliness of staff. Location. Decoration of rooms. Restaurant. Availability of gluten free food
Review 33:The hotel was a bit lacking in facilities, with a tiny gym for instance. Breakfast was expensive. The quality of the food could not be faulted, but the service at dinner was very poor (too slow and some staff seemed very inexperienced). This should not occur in a hotel of this calibre. Mosquitoes seem to be a particular issue at present and it would have been nice if the hotel had forewarned us about this on arrival.
Review 34:Very tranquil and a great place in which to relax, with good quality food and a nice ambience
Review 35:You can't walk to St. Paul from here reasonably. Taxi service is remarkably expensive. So driving on dark difficult roads is necessary for dinner other than hotel, so you can't enjoy much wine. Hotel transportation is at times available.
Review 36:Loved the pool, room, people, restaurant, grounds. Thank you all for a wonderful stay!
Review 37:The restaurant "La Table de Pierre" proposes a quite boring menu / card. Dishes are decorated with lots of vegetables in all shapes and colors, but there is a lack of substance. I would not define it a gourmet-cuisine. I enjoyed very much the Beef Tartare (available for lunch), but otherwise I can't say that I ate very well. The suites have a "private butler" service. One person follows all needs and requests of that specific suite's guests. The butler is supposed to fulfill any (reasonable) request made by the customers. The only thing we asked is to have another set of Shower Gels and Shampoos (BULGARI) + soap (BULGARI). We got the quite stingy answer that "normally those products are replaced once per day, and we are not supposed to receive them again during the day". The result is that I got just one soap, as a "special favor". This is not the kind of answer / reaction I expect from a 5-star resort that cost me $500-1000 per night. We stayed all over the world in 5-star resorts, where this kind of answer would simply NOT exist. The soaps and shower gels were replaced even during the day with new ones, for making sure that there is always enough. As a result, at the Le Mas de Pierre, we didn't have enough shower gel for taking as many showers as we needed, after using all day long the pool, morning, afternoon, evening. That was a pretty much annoying detail, that partially ruined my impression about the service and the hotel itself. A stingy attitude.
Review 38:Private pool at the Bastide des Fleurs building (be sure to ask a room in this particular building). Amazing suite (they call it "prestige suite"), with all 5-star amenities you can expect from a top notch hotel. Nice wine card at the restaurant "La Table de Pierre", with honest prices. The environment you are living in. True provence-style compound, vegetation, colors and furniture. I highly suggest room (suite) numbers 302 or 312, which have direct access to the private pool (shared with another 5 rooms), and separate from the main pool, where all other 40+ rooms have access. At the reception the staff is very gentle, polite, and has a good sense of humor. It makes you feel pretty much immediately at home. We also got an orthopedic pillow, very comfortable. We really appreciated this.
Review 39:Stayed here for 5 nights and having stayed at several R&C hotels, this did not disappoint. The staff here are among the best, especially those in reception. The hotel is superb and perfectly located, far enough away for peace and quiet but close enough to get out and about (by car). All in all, an excellent relaxing stay. Would highly recommend and will be returning.
Review 40:Restaurant was disturbed frequently by Korean party from adjoining room walking through to have a smoke outside. Very noisey and at one point they started singing!
Review 41:Room lovely and garden beautiful.
Review 42:Hard to find anything - but an extractor fan in the bathroom would save moisture coming into the bedroom.
Review 43:We liked everything, and the staff were effortlessly efficient, friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed in both a garden room and a first-floor room with a balcony - we liked both, but preferred the balcony room. Bed and bed linens very comfortable.
Review 44:Our big bed was actually two beds put together and that tended to part..should be easy to fix especially in low season when most of the rooms were not occupied. Maybe we got an upgrading ... And this had been overlooked. Sure enough in such a beautiful place one expect better on the sleepy side of its stay.
Review 45:We were in low season so that it was really quiet. The place is fantastic, the gardens magnificent with local vegetations and international pieces of art, but unfortunately since the region itself is full of interesting things to do, we did not really stay and used the on-spot facilities.
Review 46:can't think of one thing!
Review 47:Service was flawless location was perfect views of the town & property great grounds were glorious bar area was cozy and warm room was spacious bathroom large with tub and shower just perfect property
Review 48:Loved the gardens; accessibility of St.Paul de Vence, ease of transport there by hotel. Wonderful chauffeur service set up by hotel to tour the area, and her knowledge of local restaurants. Would absolutely go back.
Review 49:They seem to be running out of staff for the breakfast as it took a long while to get someone to serve us coffee and warm dishes. The design for the shower bathtub is not very logical. The water shield was too small to block the water from coming out of the bathtub, so our bathroom got a bit flooded during the first night of stay.
Review 50:This place is up on the hills with beautiful gardens and quiet neighbourhoods. Yet it's just around 15 minutes drive from Nice so it's quite a convenient location.
Review 51:Lots of character and subdued sophistication. Hotel staff is very polite and kind. Dinner and breakfast were delicious art. Walking to Saint Paul de Vence is a treat. Simply, loved it!
Review 52:Wifi kept on cutting out in the room Food was good except there was one disappointing course in each dinner - that was not good enough Breakfast seemed awful expensive Tray left outside next door room for 2 days
Review 53:Nice location Good leisure facilities Enjoyable Pool Good covered car parking
Review 54:There is nothing that we did not like
Review 55:Really everything and in particular the vegetable ans scent garden ,heated pool, interesting Bastides and in particular Antonin Mas, the view, the tranquility Shqiponja & Pellumbesha
Review 56:The breakfast was overpriced - 28E for a continental breakfast was too much
Review 57:Amazing service, wonderful facilities and a quality hotel. The room was beautiful, food exquisite and staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful.
Review 58:It would be nice to just include breakfast in the cost of the stay, since there are no other available options nearby.
Review 59:This is a wonderful little resort with amazing grounds. It is quite remote, so you will need a car, but I feel the seclusion is worth the drive. The staff here is down right cheery ( which is not always the case in and around this area).
Review 60:A small nit: the rooms could provide better lighting for reading.
Review 61:Above all else, the warmth and friendliness of the staff -- all in a setting of exceptional beauty. The restaurant, with its emphasis on local products, and herbs and vegetables grown "on site", is outstanding!
Review 62:The first impression is of a lovely location with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional and the food and service in the restaurant were excellent. A lovely location for a short break.
Review 63:Beautiful Location, great staff, amazing food. Perfect place to relax for a few days with Saint Pierre de Vance close by for a beautiful evening meal at Colome D'or and also daily attraction to walk around the village.
Review 64:Conferences - I appreciate that conferences are the life-line of many hotels but they should not disrupt the otherwise smooth running of the establishment's facilities or staff available for the 'paying guest'. The 2nd restaurant - the Bristot noted in the booking.com blurp as well as in the hotel's in-room info leaflets - is a myth. This might have provided a wider choice of menu. For both reasons dinner can be a bit fraught - lack of experienced staff and very slow service i.e. over 2 hours when competing with a conference!
Review 65:Excellent setting and layout of facilities. Helpful, attentive staff without being overly officious. Quiet location within easy drive of Nice - without the hussle/bussle of the town. Spacious rooms with all facilities. Good cuisine, but see note on dislikes.
Review 66:Mosquitoes. A lot day and night. Breakfast was just ok. Other meals were fantastic. Terry cloth covers at pos should be changed daily. Pretty grimy even if you put towels over it.
Review 67:Everything except breakfast
Review 68:Lots of noisy young children in the pool. Too few beds at the poolside. Uininspired chef in the kitchen. Unattractive menu and mediocre food. On Sunday only possible to lunch from the buffet (Eur 60), or from the room service menu: Bruchetta at Eur 28..... At the Italian that is a free appetizer! Place is money driven and in need of an inspired manager.
Review 69:Location, room interrior, friendlyness of front desk staff (concierge)
Review 70:A good pool area. However a bit noisy (especially on Sundays when there is focus on childrens activites) as the sun loungers are located very close to and around the pool.
Review 71:Wonderful setting, A beatuful garden. Loved the room and the private balcony. Great restaurant. The staff is just Amazing. We would certainly recomend this hotel to others..
Review 72:A Skoda Conference or Demonstration constantly blocking the Garage. No facility to boil water or make Tea or Coffee Complaints about Bathrooms flooding and calls
Review 73:Proximity to centre of St. Paul de Vence. However more central hotels lack space and amenities
Review 74:Luxurious establishment. Amazing furnishings. Gorgeous gardens. Idyllic pool. Superb spa and massage. Long dreamy sleep. Space and views to die for!
Review 75:Though this hotel is at the pricey end I felt it was very good value for money overall, and is a truly magical experience as I've tried to highlight. My only negative observation was the breakfast, which at 29 euros per person is really excessive (even if it is quite good...)
Review 76:Incredible refinement at every step of the stay: - probably the most beautiful hotel room (including sumptuous but not intruding decoration, extremely comfortable bedding, a terrace with magnificient view over the surrounding hills) that I've ever stayed in. - truly exquisite food, the kind you can only get at the very best restaurants in the world, at a surprisingly decent price for the quality (except perhaps breakfast which is not good value for money in my opinion) - unforgettable unique touches that make this hotel stand apart: for instance, beautiful art collection from all centuries throughout the hotel and grounds, a scent garden, a gorgeous vintage white dove shelter, a "potager" where the chef takes his herbs and greens for the meals, plenty of delightful hidden corners with comfortable sofas, tables, chairs, where one could spend the day reading a favourite book. The list goes on and on. - the swimming pool and spa area feel incredibly luxurious and are very tastefully done. - staff is very attentive to details, and makes you feel special throughout your stay. - 5 stars are not enough for this hotel !
