Reviews for Hotel El Suizo

Review 1:WiFi strength and connectivity variable, and often only on the lobby and outside the rooms. Limited parking on-street.

Review 2:Very central location within walking distance of the commercial area and restaurants. Pleasantly surprised on arrival. Bright, spacious lobby, greeted by friendly staff who spoke excellent bahasa Inggeris and continued to be most helpful throughout the short stay.

Review 3:the street noise is typical for Spain but could be shut out by closing the windows and using the air-conditioning

Review 4:wonderful staff who dispensed free drinking water during a contaminated water scare in the city location was excellent possible to meet and greet visitors in the lobby and café the fridge in the room was very useful

Review 5:- Receptionist send me to wrong Tourist Information which is only open on the weekends - Central Air Condition - No Hairdryer in the room - No Power plug at the bedside table (you have to move your bed about 2 m to reach the only available power plug which is located at the other side of the bed - Fresh Coffee cost extra

Review 6:Located next to (a small) El Corte Ingles

Review 7:excellent location lovely old hotel with design features fridge wonderful staff - there was an emergency in the city over contaminated water so they provided as much bottle water as required

Review 8:My in-room refrigerator did not work. The room door did not self-lock upon closing. Had to use the key to lock the door.

Review 9:The location and staff were great. It is close to the starting point of the Camino Ingles pilgrimage route. Great grocery across from the hotel.

Review 10:Friday and saturday nights both had too much noise from bar goers - until 4 in the morning.

Review 11:Location - close to everything in the village and the waterfront.

Review 12:Only a couple of small points. The hand basin plug was faulty and we thought that the crockery and milk jug in the breakfast could have been better cleaned.

Review 13:We liked the size and cleanliness of the hotel and room, the quiet location and the large bathroom. The friendly English speaking staff made us feel very welcomed.

Review 14:On arrival we were told there were no double rooms available,i pointed out that i booked one 4 months ago but was told they only had suites availabe. I suggested that they should let us have one as it was there fault they had overbooked but was told we would have to pay extra which, i was not prepared to do so ended up in a twin room. However when i complained next morning i was given a suite at no extra cost for the second night.

Review 15:Clean comfortable hotel.

Review 16:Nothing. It is great.

Review 17:Staff were fantastic and so helpful and accommodating. Gave us advice where to eat. Great location in the pedestrianised centre of Ferrol made getting around a breeze.

Review 18:We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Suiza. We just had one night in Ferrol, and caught the FEVE train early the next morning, but our time there was nice. The hotel is conveniently located in the center of town, but within walking distance of the train and bus stations. The rooms are clean, the staff is helpful, and the place has the comfortable and classy feel of a small, but upscale, hotel. It is on a pedestrian street, and well positioned to walk to dinner, or to explore the port area. The internet access was the only faulty aspect of our visit.

Review 19:As it is in the center it was a little noisy at night but I had ear plugs so that made it a little easier to sleep

Review 20:This hotel is located in the heart of Ferrol which makes it an excellent starting point for the Camino. Wifi is free and the staff are really friendly and nice. Breakfast is good

Review 21:Drawback is the noise from other rooms.

Review 22:The train station is a ten minute walk from Hotel El Suizo. Elegant entrance, nice location on a walking street only. Ample room with a balcony very comfortable. Great internet. Drawback is the noise from other rooms.

Review 23:The pillows on the bed were long and flat and there were no more in the closet. There were not enough electrical plugs in the room and none at the bedside for our smartphone and cameras to recharge.

Review 24:the hotel decor was beautiful inside and out. The staff were very helpful directing us to restaurants and shopping. We were upgraded to a king size suite from a double room for the same cost. The breakfast was sufficient for 6,30 euros. Our car was parked in a secure parking garage beside the hotel for 8 euros a night. We had a quiet sleep.

Review 25:Good location nice staff

Review 26:Very comfortable bed and best sleep we had all holiday.

Review 27:Great place in every way. Ideal location for starting the Camino Ingles.

Review 28:Not the hotel's fault, but main street below was very noisy till 7am!

Review 29:They upgraded us since we were travelling with a small baby.

Review 44:Very traditional hotel and good location

Review 45:Nice staff and very large rooms. Very good location in center of Ferrol.

Review 46:Friendly staff, good location, nice breakfast, great rooms.

Review 47:When I saw the exterior I had great expectations about an historic interior, but nothing of it has been left. I has been modernized in such a way that you don't feel the history and tradition anymore. That's a pity.

Review 48:Charming, characterful, and comfortable Art Deco hotel right in the middle of town. We stayed four nights, touring the area by car. The staff were friendly and helpful; our (large-ish) dog was both welcomed and popular. The breakfast buffet is varied and generous. Great hotel; I'd love to go back one day.

Review 49:Only 1 electric power point available that worked. No coffee or tea facilities available in the room. TV remote did not work

Review 50:Location, staff and breakfast was great

Review 51:ferrol as itself. first, no taxi at train station, so you either have to call (imagine, you are not local and have no spanish mobile, haha) or walk to your hotel with all your lagguage (thanks god you guess right how to reach your hotel - local people avoid talking to strangers). tourist information office is closed all the time (perhaps except high season), totally nothing to do in ferrol. the only reason - if you want to move forward to nice beaches starting from covas, foz and so on.

Review 52:people at reception are very helpful. hotel location is convenient. bed is very comfortable, wifi is fast. worth its money.

Review 53:The bar and restaurant were closed. Only breakfast was served in the restaurant. There were no decent restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

Review 54:Reception staff was very friendly and helpfull. The room was clean and comfortable.

Review 55:Dont bother going to Ferrol. Really was a big mistake on our Northern Spain Tour. Absolutely nothing there.

Review 56:Hotel is in a pedestrian walkway. Surrounding streets are cobbled and steep. Hotel was clean. Staff were helpful. Parked motorbike in garage attached to hotel and they didn't charge us. Not sure if that was because they asked us to move it twice.

Review 57:Very friendly reception staff. A comfortable room and bed as well as a convenient location in the 'old' part of Ferrol, as well as being close to the starting point for the Camino Ingles. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Review 58:Very close to downtown and business district. Quite silence, no noise by car or bus or something else in the traffic. Personnnel fuly cordial and outgoing

Review 59:That my daughter might stay there! Too far from home.

Review 60:My daughter lives in Ferrol. We had a great trip. Loved the hotel anthebreakfast that lasts until 11:00 with fruit cereal eggs bacon sauagesand toast..fresh coffee con lachy or americano included. We stayed in rm204. It had 3 balcones that gave a good view and sounds of the citywaking and ending each day. Had an awesome time. Visit Gloria's cafefriendly place.

Review 61:Clean. Friendly staff.

Review 62:This was a nice hotel in a quiet place. While not an architecturally beautiful place Ferrol had a charm about it, that made it interesting.

Review 63:Very poor lighting in the room

Review 64:Wonderful staff

Review 65:Excellent helpful staff, good range if food for breakfast

Review 66:Noisy Friday night streets

Review 67:Comfort, staff helpfulness

Review 68:Staff were fantastic. Location is great and hotel comfy.

Review 69:We were in Ferrol for a stopover on our way across northern Spain. This hotel more than suited our purposes. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 70:Staff were very engaging and personable. Gave us an upgrade. Hotel is just near a reasonable park/plaza

Review 71:Ubicación, limpieza, silencio

Review 72:Air conditioning not working adequately. The hotel's facilities are a bit dated

Review 73:Staff, location and building

Review 74:N/A

Review 75:Friendliness of staff, character of hotel.
