Reviews for Hotel Mirabeau

Review 2:This was may second stay. My room was spacious and quiet, the bed comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. This would be my first choice for any subsequent visit to Tours.
Review 3:No parking facilities, although we didn't have a problem.
Review 4:Conveniently located. Clean and comfortable rooms, Friendly staff. Good breakfast (not included).
Review 5:This was our 1st time in Farnce in 15 year and I had forgotton how they can do the friendly but unhelpful bit,. there were 3 receptions 2 were ok but the 3rd was a expert inthe above. Pillows need replacing we didget replacements but they were no bett.
Review 6:The room was clean and lovely for the price we were paying.
Review 7:Not a bad experience but we would have liked a kettle and some cups in the room for a cup of tea. This does not seem to be customary in France.
Review 8:The cleanliness of the whole place was outstanding and the staff were very friendly and hard-working. The room (23) was spacious and decorated in a very tasteful fashion. The building was charming and the little French doors and black, wrought iron balcony were lovely.Breakfast was also good.
Review 9:Location is very good, esp for the trains, and the staff are really helpful. We have stayed here several times over the last 2 years. Rooms are all different: some are bigger, some have a bigger bed or a better bathroom etc so best to ask in advance if you need something special. However all rooms will be clean & comfortable. Breakfast is always good here, and there is a nice patio area too if you prefer to eat outside. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Tours.
Review 10:Bed really not comfortable. There wasn't privacy for the shower although it's a room for 3
Review 11:Near the train station. Room for 3 was with enough space. Breakfast pretty good
Review 12:Shower was a bit hard to control. Water went all over half of bathroom. Need a curtain or something. But the bathroom was very new and clean.
Review 13:Wonderful hotel in old part of town. High ceilings and large room were a real treat. Very quiet, we were 2nd floor, facing the courtyard. We loved the courtyard full of flowers. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 14:We were given a room which smelt very strongly of cigarettes first, but they moved us when we mentioned that this was an issue. Might be worth specifying when you book if you want a non smoking room.
Review 15:Excellent location, easy walk into city centre (5 minutes) but in a quiet street. A very clean and comfortable room. Nice garden area to sit and relax.
Review 16:Sink in the bathroom didn't drain. Wifi connection was slow.
Review 17:Convenient location, hotel was in a lovely old building, reception staff spoke very good English.
Review 18:No air conditioning - with window open there was a lot of road noise. Breakfast was disappointing.
Review 19:Good location, convenient free parking across the road, very helpful staff. A good mid journey 'stop off' hotel.
Review 20:Room 24, all the way up to the attic, was very hot. No airco. One towel for two :(. Wifi did not work up there.
Review 21:Staff, interior, terraces on main floors. Clean bathroom and bedding. Coffee and croissants after breakfast hours were offered. We slept well, it was quiet. Tours is a pleasant city.
Review 22:At the time of our visit the road outside the hotel was being resurfaced and coned off, which meant carrying our heavy cases across the very rough road surface and also increased the road noise in our room. Public parking is limited but still available. Our only other negative comment was the lack of a second pillow. We did ask at reception and were promised two more but received a call later to say that none were available - which was odd as the hotel did not seem that busy.
Review 23:It was very situated and easy access from the main routes. We would certainly stay there again.
Review 24:Noisy street (however a sound proof windows help a lot and make it comfortable). Building works on the street and at the building.
Review 25:Nice staff. Excellent breakfast. Take a room with a garden view and then it would be 10/10.
Review 26:breakfast area is a bit dark and needs at keast 1 member of staff to keep an eye on it. when we got there, there was nobody there, just 1 pcs if ham left (no problem if you dont eat ham
Review 27:roomsize fre. wifi free parking across the road
Review 28:Mme Valerie was lovely and welcoming. The location was perfect to walk to and from the station and to discover Tours. The room was comfortable, bigger than most rooms in French Hotels and it was clean.
Review 29:First we we were invaded by some kind of minute bug. We changed room. Staff said it was normal for this time of year No cold water for drinks. When asked for ice cubes was told that the hotel does not have any ever!!!
Review 30:General central locations but difficult to find nearby parking
Review 31:The room was small but comfortable, bearing its ancient timbers. The small courtyard off the breakfast room provides a nice respite for weary travellers. With the centre of Tours effectively relocating after the light rail, it's a long but pleasant walk to the restaurants and old town, but very good access to the car hire depot.
Review 32:Pillows were of a square configuration which made for a disturbed sleep. Only able to pick up French TV
Review 33:Ground floor accommodation, large bedroom and large strong shower
Review 34:On a road so you get noise from traffic and light from street lamps at night. The breakfast, which you pay extra for, was not great value with the pastries being quite dry and not a massive choice of fruit on offer.
Review 35:Nice, clean room with a good bath.
Review 36:This excellent small hotel is conveniently located close to the many sights of Tours, the railway and bus stations. Our room was spotlessly clean and well maintained on a daily basis. The staff were friendly and professional and they took care to ensure that the requirements of their guests were satisfied. Breakfast was standard and of good quality.
Review 37:I had trouble getting email, but it may have been my fault, not theirs.
Review 38:The staff was efficient and friendly. The room was just right for what I needed.
Review 39:The Mirabeau is really nice small hotel. It is a short walk from the train station and the staff are very helpful. Breakfast is simple but nice. I would defintely go back there.
Review 40:The staff were extremely polite and helpful considering our late short notice booking on a Saturday night. Breakfast excellent, room and bed comfortable bathroom facilities top notch would definitely recommend .
Review 41:there was nothing to dislike
Review 42:Location was ideal rooms very clean and comfortable and well equipped . food was excellent staff were very polite and pleasant i would not hesitate in going back price was good value too
Review 43:Nothing
Review 44:The hotel was well placed for our overnite stay, an approx 1km walk to the restaurants was well received after a day in the car. I'd booked only 24 hrs before based on a review I'd read here. Breakfast was lovely, hotel clean and a nice mix of old building with a modern bathroom and the best bed I've slept in since travels began in London. We were greeted by a young man in English and managed to get a park right out the front, a lucky find as the street was very parked up. A great price and a great small personal hotel experience.
Review 45:couldn't stay longer Tours is a lovely city
Review 46:The room was lovely on the 2nd floor white crisp sheets and quilt, lovely soft décor with lovely prints on the walls. block out curtains. modern bathroom with a lovely hot shower. a lift. The Owner Madam Vivienne was generous and welcoming all the other staff were very friendly. I didn't take breakfast but Im sure it would have been excellent. The bus stops outside the door or a short walk to the Main station and tourist office.
Review 47:The bed was very uncomfortable. I could feel the springs from the mattress on my back.
Review 48:The staff was very friendly, property centrally located, clean, good breakfast for the price and our room was large and clean.
Review 49:Hotel was very quiet and you could hear everything. (mostly, people could hear our baby and dogs)
Review 50:Staff was kind and had great suggestions. Breakfast was delicious and typical French. Beds were comfy, showers were great. Lovely place to stay. 5 minutes walking to many popular dinner and drink options. Would stay again!
Review 51:No complaints. I did not have the breakfast, so I cannot judge it.
Review 52:The bed was very comfortable, the staff was very nice, and the bathroom had a great shower. The hotel is located within walking distance from the train station and and not far from the restaurants, although the area is a little deserted.
Review 53:nothing
Review 54:Our room was towards the back and was quiet. Buffet breakfast was ideal with good choices. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful and very good value for money in a good sized room.
Review 55:The room was spotless and quiet, breakfast buffet good and very fresh, and the staff delightful, helpful and friendly. I hope very much to return before too long.
Review 56:Our room was at the front so there was quite a lot of traffic noise. Ask for a room at the back if you want complete quiet.
Review 57:Our large, first-floor room had lots of character and a good bathroom, with a bath. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Good location.
Review 58:Well located with a clean, comfortable and quiet room. Staff were friendly and helpful, with good restaurant recommendations. The elevator was a definite plus.
Review 59:Too few nearby restaurants. Moderate breakfast. Stairs to lobby.
Review 60:Historical charm. Very clean. Walking distance to meet our tour group. Near one of the two train stations.
Review 61:My room window opened onto a busy and noisy road, so I had to keep it shut at night. When shut, the room was very quiet.
Review 62:Small hotel with lots of character that is within walking distance (2 blocks) of the Tours railway station. Staff and room were excellent.
Review 63:A little bit further away from the old town then we had imagined but area is all flat so no problem to walk. On the other hand the car parking in this area is free so no costs to park our rental car.
Review 64:Staff were wonderful. Room was big & comfortable. Nice courtyard area to sit in.
Review 65:There was nothing I didn't like. Even the proximity to the main thoroughfare was not an issue as I feared it might be.
Review 66:The cleanliness of the room and the helpfulness of the staff and the petit-dejeuner.
Review 67:Bath had no plug (I improvised!) and it would be impossible to shower standing up under sloped ceiling, and I am small! Lift didn't go all the way to third floor.
Review 68:Style, comfort, polite staff
Review 69:Bit far from everything for my mum who has a bad ankle, but for me location was good. Bit of a walk to everything and all the good restaurants - standard restaurants just down the road. Our room was on the road side which was quite noisy starting at 5.30am and ending around 11ish. We had the windows open due to the warm weather but when closed the noise is OK.
Review 70:Catered for travelling with my mum very well with two double beds in the room, very clean and friendly staff; excellent continental breakfast for the price. Room very well presented and surprisingly large.
Review 71:I booked a 3-bed room for two nights at either end of a short holiday. On arrival was told that 3-bed room was not available for second night, despite booking.com confirmation. Accepted room with 2 doubles instead, but worried that this could happen.
Review 72:Room with 2 doubles was very nice. Staff friendly and helpful.
Review 73:Bedroom was quite basic - some of the others were more interesting. Noisy water pipes running across our ceiling to other bedrooms which became very noisy whenever anyone in an adjoining room was having a shower/ bath (and our neighbours had one at midnight!). No air con, so did get hot and stuffy at night.
Review 74:Liked the fact it was near the monthly Sunday market, and an easy walk into town. Fairly quiet if you go for a room at the back (not overlooking road). Quite good value for 70 euros a night. Nice central areas - hallway, stairs.
Review 75:Breakfast overpriced compared to other hotels on our trip through France
Review 76:Charming rooms, very nice staff, great location for walking to station and area restaurants.
Review 77:Front facing bedroom was noisy from the traffic as we had to have windows open because it was hot.
Review 78:Central location close to station. Easy to walk to tourist spots. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Would certainly use this hotel again
Review 79:The plumbing noises that occasionally disturbed the general quietness.
Review 80:Good sized, well maintained rooms and comfortable beds. Friendly staff. On-street parking within 100m of the hotel: 2 hour limit (€2.80) but free 18:30 - 09:00 so you can park and pay at the end of the day and move after breakfast.
Review 81:Noisy room near the staircase, unable to swap. Blown bulbs, loo roll holder broken. Shortage of hot water for the shower.
Review 82:Great location, cycle storage.
Review 83:That we could not stay longer.
Review 84:Staff was cordial, attentive and helpful. If we have the opportunity to visit Tours again, Hotel Mirabeau will be our residence.
Review 85:Room was noisy since overlooking road and windows had to be kept open since it was summer. Breakfast was not good value for money.
Review 86:Clean, big room, friendly staff. Very responsive to email. Location near train station and tourism office.
Review 87:Gem of a hotel with understated elegance and style appropriate to the age of the building. Everything worked well; the staff very friendly and helpful; the location both for access from the A 10 and for the atmospheric historic quarter couldn't be better. We would unhesitatingly recommend this comfortable, elegant hotel. Much nicer than many so-called 4 star hotels we have stayed in.
Review 88:In our room the toilet was separate from the bathroom, so had to keep walking around the bed to wash hands etc..a fan in room would have been good, but thats personal choice. Breakfast ok.
Review 89:Location was good, Hotel very clean, friendly staff, rooms a good size.
Review 90:There was no car park, so if you have a car, you have to try to find a space in one of the roads nearby or use a payment car park.
Review 91:This hotel was a traditional and fashioned near to the centre of Tours. The rooms were splendid with a lot of character, ours even had a fireplace ! It is a grand building, typical of those in and around the area. The staff were welcoming and free wifi was a benefit.
Review 92:the hotel is in a very good position. close to the train station and at 8min by walk from the city centre. the place was very clean and the staff incredibly kind. i've really enjoyed my stay there!
Review 93:The room was a bit noisy, not very good isolation. The breakfast was normal and a bit expensive.
Review 94:The staff was really nice, the room was big and clean and the bathroom was very new. The wifi was very fast.
Review 95:Cons: - Didn’t find
Review 96:Me and 2 friends of mine were traveling by bikes from Paris to Bordeaux. That was one of the few hotels providing a room for 3 adult persons with 3 separate beds. Pros: - Excellent location near the city center. - Friendly English speaking staff - We were provided with a key to a garage where you can store your bike/motor bike during the night. - Cute old-style building with internal design from 18th/19th century.
Review 97:Highly recommended! Huge and cousy rooms. Helpful and friendly staff. Very good location and breakfast.
Review 98:Our room was on the 2nd floor and the WiFi didn´t work there.

Review 110:Friendly staff, excellent value.
Review 111:Travelled with friends who got room 6 for the first nite.this room is unsuitable for a couple.
Review 112:Lovely little boutique hotel, good location, really helpful friendly staff and a place to securely store bicycles.
Review 113:The location
