Reviews for Apartamentos Rincón del Puerto
Review 1:I had stayed here before and was impressed but this time not so.the apartment needed some general TLC. The sofa was impossible to lean back on as it collapsed , the were loose pieces of flooring (not good as I am disabled). No wine glasses,I had to go shopping for a spatula,no TV until the monday and then only Spanish. No one understood English so although I has phoned from the airport no one was there on arrival. Wind blew out the boiler flame and there was no heating or hot water until I worked out what what wrong and there were no instructions for that or the job.
Review 2:I had stayed here before and was impressed. Bsome general TLC. The sofa was almost impossible to lean back on as it collapsed, there were loose pieces of flooring (not good as I am disabled). No wine glasses and I had to go out and buy a spatula. The wind blew out the flame to the boiler several connectingtimes and there were no instructions re starting this (i was cold as no heating ) or how to operate the hob. Nobody spoke english so although i had phoned from the airport noone was there when we arrived. There was only a non working TV until the monday and then no channels other than spanish. The agent was pleasant enough but didn't understand English so it was fortunate I could communicate in Spanish.
Review 3:- we did not get the appartment we saw in internet (was occupied, the lady said), so there no room with two seperated beds and the sleeping rooms were no very high - We had to call the lady to bring us the keys which is not explaned on booking.com - price for one day ok, otherwise to much for the time in the season - equipment is ok but seems cheap - washing machine is there but there was fabric softener left in it so we had to clean first
Review 4:- nice view in the second floor (habour) - heating worked very well
Review 5:Some stuff like salt in kitchen and detergent for washing machine would help a lot when staying there for some days only. Staff does not speak english so any kind of conversation when cheking in and out is quite difficult.
Review 6:Stunning view, great location, nice apartement
Review 7:no wifi , sofa a bit uncomfortable and obsolete
Review 8:excellent location , comfort, cordiality , sympathy and great availability of Mrs. Julia in meeting our needs
Review 9:We arrived at 11.30am. There is no way into the building without a key. To obtain the key, we discovered ,by chance because I speak spanish, one has to walk half way down the main street to a tiny gift shop. We were eventually allowed in to the apartment at 12.30pm. On entering the superb apartment, we were sickened by the sickening smell of cooking fish and oïl from the restaurants below.. to avoid this smell at midday and at night - the wondows have to be firmly closed. We stayed one of the two nights booked - with windows, overlooking the sea, tightly closed. To make matters worse, we were forced to pay for the 2 nights originally booked which I think was unfair - and am not sure the owners were legally correct insisting that we had to pay the 2 nights.
Review 10:The apartment was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped.
Review 11:The sofa needs to be replaced as it is old and 'used'. The back cushion slips out of the frame as well, leaving you resting against the metal frame.
Review 12:The location is fantastic and exactly as it is described. Parking is therefore off-site but is plentiful within a 5 min. walk radius. We dumped our luggage in front of the house and then parked up with no problem. The flat is fine with a minimum of everything you could reasonably expect. Hot water is plentiful although the shower-temperature can vary slightly intra shower. The building is made of beautiful old stone and has been tastefully renovated (it features on one of the local postcards). Julia, the proprietor, is always on hand to sort things out although some Spanish will really help.
Review 13:Felt it had only been given a peremptory clean and the kitchen was woefully under equipped - not kettle, no toaster and no oven! Not even any wine glasses!
Review 14:Beautiful views over the bay, right at the heart of the village. very spacious.

Review 35:Location
Review 36:Lovely apartment with living room upstairs including a toilet with bedrooms downstairs including a toilet and shower. Overlooking the port and there is plenty of free off street parking in and around the accommodation. The owner speaks a little English so with my basic Spanish we managed to arrange the pick up for the keys.
Review 37:The only thing I didn't like too much was the shower. Difficult to regulate, it was broken so I couldn't hang the shower. I would change this.
Review 38:I loved the location and the apartment was excellent. Julia was extremely accommodating and helped us with every query. Lovely person.
Review 39:It was not a real problem for us, but despite explaining by email to the letting agency that we speak no Spanish - and being assured that language would be no problem - the cleaner and the manager of the agency - both delightful ladies - speak no other language than Spanish - it's amazing what one can do with sign language ands lots of smiles! Also the agency had insisted by email that we use MasterCard, not Amex, but when we arrived we were asked to pay in cash - which we just managed down to the last Euro we possessed! It would have been helpful to know this in advance.
Review 40:The apartment (= No 2) was bigger - on two floors, more attractively appointed and better located than the information provided implied. It could be an issue for some visitors that access is not obvious, up outside steps and with inside stairs. The location is beautiful - the double aspect living room overlooked one way the harbour and, across the estuary, two sandy beaches, the other way out to the sea in the distance. San Vicente de la Barquera is truly picturesque and reached across a causeway. The old house - very thoughtfully developed into apartments - is situated at the bottom of the old town under the castle. From the beaches the old town is set against the snowy peaks of the Picos de Europa - a wonderful day's excursion in very beautiful mountain scenery. In fact, the whole area is lovely - along the coast: cliffs and crashing waves, little sandy coves and wide beaches with rolling waves perfect for surfing; inland beautiful ancient churches, villages and farms set in pretty countryside, wild flowers everywhere (we went at the end of April) and cows, sheep and goats with bells ringing on alpine-like meadows - and everyone very welcoming and friendly.
Review 41:1. Lack of comfortable chairs, sofa bed did not work as an easy chair 2. Lack of kitchen equipment 3. Sound proofing from other apartments.
Review 42:1. Location, views, proximity to restaurants shops etc 2. Decorative finish. the apartments had been nicely refurbished with the exception of the sound proofing!
Review 43:Nothing really for us but not really suited for those unable to cope with steps and car parking is some distance away
Review 44:Perfect location with beautiful sea views and close to all amenities
Review 45:Arranging access. I arrived at the b us station, rang to say where I was but the rep only spoke Spanish and said Donde esta several times which fortunately I understood and replied to. I took a taxi to the address and spent a nerve-wracking and stressful 20 minutes or so trying to find someone, knocking on doors and sitting on luggage trying to figure out what to do. Eventually a woman came running up with a key and let us in. Also it would have been helpful to have known that there were several flights of stairs to climb, some very difficult and precarious for the elderly with luggage to negotiate.
Review 46:The apartment was fabulous. The posittion great with a beautiful view in a wonderful location.I like it so much that I hope to return in the near future and stay much longer.
Review 47:very good location in the town center. very nice furniture and kind owner. the apartment was very clean and nicely decorated, and it offer an amazing value for money. highly reccomended
Review 48:We had not realized that it was on a main road, but this did not effect us as the apertures are double-glazed, and the view is well worth it.
Review 49:The location was perfect to all nature sites. We had 2 balconies overlooking beautiful port. Very roomy apartment and well equipped kitchen.
Review 50:great location, fixtures and fittings clean and well looked after, fantastic views
Review 51:The sofa and beds could be a little more comfortable
Review 52:Loved the Apartment; views, location, town, big windows, it has all we need.
