Reviews for Hotel l'Avenue
Review 1:Far superior to anything else I saw in the area, wonderful location and fantastic staff. really quiet environs and a super view. renovations have been made and the place is sweet!
Review 2:It was hot and there was no air conditioning so we left the windows open but there was so much traffic/street noise from the first floor, we hardly slept at all.
Review 3:Room was fine. Staff were friendly.
Review 4:No elevator. Had to haul a lot of luggage up narrow stairs. Entire hotel stinks like overly strong kitchen smells.
Review 5:Room was nice/spacious. Double bed was very comfortable. Convenient parking. Great location.
Review 6:Rooms at front of hotel are on main road. As it was very warm we needed to open the windows which was incredibly noisy.
Review 7:Location is ideal. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was self service and good value.
Review 8:not much choice for breakfast ,staff at breakfast seemed grumpy , it is the first time i have had to pay for the rooms and breakfast on arrival
Review 9:convenient for the railway station and the chateau
Review 10:The bed is noisy and needs changing, mattress comfortable. The breakfast is basic some fruit would have been nice, but the bread was very nice, better than some higher grade hotels. No Reception facilities.
Review 11:Location is good and has benefit of free parking, although a bit tight to get through the gates but that cannot be changed. The restaurant is very good and food is excellent. The room was large and a comfortable bed, albeit noisy, basic faciliites but is a budget hotel
Review 12:The hotel staff doesn't speak in English at all at looked like they aren't hospitable to foreigners.
Review 13:Good location, great food in hotels restaurant.
Review 14:Wifi never connected to my devices. After over an hour of struggling and asking staff for help twice, the (assumed) manager became quite rude and told me I'd have to wait. After over an hour of trying to connect! She seemed more concerned with the running of the restaurant in the ground floor. The lower ranking members of staff were much, much more helpful and courteous. Single room was pretty small but included everything necessary.
Review 15:The facilities were clean and everything you expect was provided (except wifi never worked on my devices but was supposedly available). Certain members of staff were incredibly helpful despite a broken English/French discussions. Location is very central in Chantilly.
Review 16:The shower was a bit small.
Review 17:The staff was very accommodating to our early check in and helped us obtain a taxi for our departure. This is a quiet hotel in a convenient location in town.
Review 18:Very minor issues e.g. no hotel staff in the evening; very basic room and linens, toiletries,
Review 19:The location in Chantilly, close to main attractions, very accessible to/from CDG airport. Our assigned room was at the back of the building and relatively quiet. Secure parking was a definite plus. We were pleasantly surprised that the restaurant served good dinner.
Review 20:Close to train station & city center. Easy walk to chateau. Clean & good-sized room. Loved that they gave me access to room in morning so I could leave my baggage to visit chateau.
Review 21:The quality of the food in the restaurant was not what we had hoped for. It was acceptable but not in any way outstanding.
Review 22:The bed was comfortable for two people--not saggy or sloping toward the middle. Since we were basically in town for a good night's sleep before flying out of CDG the next morning, this was important.
Review 23:One waitress was very abrupt to non French people and gave the feeling she didn't want to be there
Review 24:The two young male waiters were very pleasant and helpful.the location is very good in the Main Street and easy to find
Review 25:No towels when rectified only one! Even a single traveller needs two! It was good to have TV but couldn't understand a word. Would have happily paid for English channels even cn news!
Review 26:Comfortable room. Brought friends over for a meal which was excellent. Staff in the main helpful and good English which is a help.
Review 27:The family room we had was very small,up in the attic.it was hot and only 2 velux windows so not much air?supposedly self catering we had a microwave and fridge but no kettle??Had to trail up and down 3 flights of steps to get hot water? We had breakfast in the restaurant which was very basic, croissants, yoghurts, bread and preserves and coffee and juice, small packets of cereal?not a lot for 6.50€? Also ate tea in the restaurant one day.We ordered 3 burgers and chips and steak and chips. When the food arrived the burger buns were soaked through the bottom with blood that had dripped out of the very raw burgers, and a good vet could have probably revived the steak??!We weren't asked how we would like our meat cooked either? The waitress was totally uninterested when we said we hadn't enjoyed it!84€ for this with 2 cokes and 2 waters!
Review 28:The location is great,a stones throw away from chantilly racecourse and nice but expensive shops.
Review 29:staff a little dismissive / not over friendly a few bits in the room needed some TLC (e.g. missing lightbulbs)
Review 30:spacious room good value comfortable beds restaurant food gorgeous
Review 31:The hotel was in the centre of town and had onsite parking which suited us well. It was ideal for our minibreak
Review 32:Not overfriendly staff
Review 33:The breakfast was very 'continental' basic.
Review 34:The central location (with rooms over the restaurant) is perfect for visitors.
Review 35:Bathroom smells
Review 36:lack of personal interaction, very faceless.
Review 37:location
Review 38:The old fornitures
Review 39:The position and the town
Review 40:Warm welcome helpful free secure parking
Review 41:Booked a twin room and it was in fact a double also there for two nights and no toilet paper at all and no one to ask
Review 42:Nice room and clean
Review 43:Great, simple accommodation. V friendly staff
Review 44:Very Central & near my family
Review 45:No wifi in bedroom
Review 46:Very comfy beds
Review 47:Room was prepaired for next occupant while I popped out briefly and had not packed my valuables and clothes
Review 48:language difficulty when calling to ask to delay check in till later..
Review 49:everything
Review 50:Breakfast is good value.
Review 51:There is quite a bit of road noise as hotel is situated at a set of traffic lights.
Review 52:Secure parking.
Review 53:Restaurant had comfortable decor but uninspiring menu. One of bedrooms had serious plumbing problem and alternative room was only solution.
Review 54:Location,
Review 55:going through the corridor to the loos to acces the hotel.
Review 56:basic facilities, but clean, comfortable and friendly staff.
Review 57:Could not even rollover in bed without it sounding like a herd of mice,
Review 58:Price and location
Review 59:Accomadation was good And a good restaurant on site made for a convenient visit.
Review 60:Bed was not comfortable

Review 62:Small room
Review 63:Clean room Good location
Review 64:Slow service in restaurant.
Review 65:Nice welcome, lovely room, and car parking while tight to get into was free.
Review 66:Great place
Review 67:Plenty of bars and restaurants large park to walk dog and hotel dog freindly.
Review 68:Location, quality, value and choice of menu. Parking secure. Friendly staff. Definitely return.
Review 69:Restaurant a little pricey
Review 70:Food Wifi Parking
Review 71:Modern ,spacious bedroom with good parking. Ideal location and helpful staff. Highly recommended
Review 72:No air conditioning so had to have window open, which let in traffic noise
Review 73:convenient location, good restaurant
Review 74:My room was near the staircase and the first night it was very rowdy with alot of banging which I thought could have been from the staircase but it wasn't noisy the other nights so I think it must have been from children staying in the room above. Sounded like they had an enjoyable time jumping off the bed!
Review 75:The nearness to the chateau and horse museum. The shops were nearby and it was a walkable distance to the train station. The restaurant was very good and the staff were very helpful even though we spoke different languages.
Review 76:The room was basic but spotlessly clean. Breakfast was fairly basic.
Review 77:The location was excellent, right in the centre of Chantilly, with private secure parking. We dined in the restaurant, and enjoyed the meal.
Review 78:Everything about the hotel was very good. The staff were very helpful and obliging. The room was spacious and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to stay at the breathtakingly beautiful, Chantilly
Review 79:Security code in back door didnt work and although they claim high security, there was a door at the back always open, risky if someone slipped through the gate. The toilet trickled water for a long while after flush and bathroom door didnt lock properly. Apart from this, excellent. If you want to go to Paris, too far for accommodation (expensive).
Review 80:Located in a lovely traditional french town, close to Chantilly castle, gardens, castle and museum, shops, town square. Beds very comfortable and clean, rooms clean. Quiet at night, not sure about peak season.
Review 81:Excellent location to visit the town, very good restaurant just below the hotel. Very cozy and quiet room. Free secure parking. Good breakfast at a reasonable price.
Review 82:Staff rude and unhelpful, they appeared to be wanting to be elsewhere and did not care if you knew it.
Review 83:The car park was secure! The area and the town were leery pleasant.
Review 84:The room was a little chilly, and we always forget that continental hotels do not provide tea and coffee making facilities. If we had been better organised with taking our own supplies we could have used the microwave in the kitchenette, but we didn't know about it so we didn't pack our mugs!
Review 85:The room was enormous and the beds were comfortable, with an excellent standard of cleanliness Breakfast was good and plentiful. The food in the restaurant was excellent, as was the Italian Restaurant across the road. A good base for going to Parc Asterix, and the station (a 10 minute walk) takes you straight into Paris.
Review 86:Somewhat noisy with the room facing the street
Review 87:The location was good being in the center of Chantilly. We had a very good dinner with friendly service
Review 88:Nothing
Review 89:Great staff very responsive to our needs we ate there too and the service was fantastic. We were there for the castle triathlon and got saturated the staff helped us get our things dry very much appreciated.
Review 90:The hotel staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable. The showerexcellent. We ate in the hotel one evening and found it very good. Wehad breakfast there each day and thought it was good value. The freeWiFi was usually reliable. It was well located for getting to Parc Asterix theme park and Paris by train. They had a secure car park. We want to go back to actually look round Chantilly.
Review 91:Great location, friendly welcome, would recommend to friends, would visit again. Chantilly chateau, horse museum and racecourse within walking distance
Review 92:Rather noisy as the hotel is on a main road at a busy junction. A room at the back may have been quieter. A lot of stairs to climb as our room was on the third floor. There is limited head room in the bathroom which made showering very difficult
Review 93:Secure parking although be sure to book at peak holiday times as spaces are limited. Large quad room which was well equipped and plenty of towels. Good food in restaurant and breakfast very good value. Paris is only 23 minutes by train
Review 94:The breakfast was far too expensive. 13 euros per person. We did not have breakfast! The restaurant had a good range of food but was again really expensive as was the wine list. It was not easy getting into the car park. A very narrow entrance for large cars and just at the traffic lights. Whilst the hotel was very nice we did not want to spend so much money travelling home from our holiday.
Review 95:Attractive and well maintained room. Comfortable bed. Within walking distance of the Chateau, shops and a wide variety of restaurants. Some secure on site parking.
Review 96:Decor in rooms a bit dated
Review 97:A good hotel in a good position in Chantilly. Within walking distance of the Chateau and railway station (to visit Paris) Good food and wine but not gourmet type. Used a lot by locals. Comfortable bed in a clean and airy room. Good parking. Helpful staff
Review 98:We where in top room to many stairs to climb ,had my mother with us we checked out after 1 night ,staff where fine with it and helped us book in somewhere else.
Review 99:Everything about it nice
Review 100:Since the rooms are above the restaurant, there was a persistant smell of fried food. Otherwise, all was fine.
Review 101:Was very nice to have a room that fit my family of four. Was a bit of a hike up the stairs, but room was clean and quiet.
Review 102:No reception area - just the bar No sitting area/room No lift Smellybathrooom - shower drain not cleared Ceiling in bedroom stained and notrepaired Very noisy as it was on the main road street Restaurant foodvery average Quite basic
Review 103:Not a lot - would never stay there again
Review 104:We were very close to the Chantilly Chateaux, Train Station, Race Courseand Park nearby. Lots of little shops in the Village. Have lovely smallboutique shops and fantastic patisseries nearby within walking distanceand that perfect cup of coffee. Wonderful place to stay and secureparking as well.
Review 105:The closeness to the train station and all the lovely shops and the best patisserie chocolatier was just next door. Food the hotel brasserie was good. Excellent atmosphere. Portions were perfect.
Review 106:Chantilly is not very easy to do with small children and luggage if you do not have a car. That said the walk was extremely pleasant and relaxing. Nothing was negative about the hotel.
Review 107:Oh we loved the hotel. The triple room we booked was spacious compared to European standards. The beds were nice. Ample clean towels and supplies. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was very good. Good food and service and reasonable price. Location was almost equidistant from the station and château and quite easy to find.
Review 108:Vert friendly staff, Nice smal hotell with a high balance of price and quality. Safe parking place, good food and wifi connection. I have already booked there for next month.
Review 109:The room (on the front) was quite noisy, sounds from outside (people talking outside, buses, heavy traffic) were very audible.
Review 110:In house restaurant/brasserie, nice room in a pleasant colour scheme, good bed, wifi everywhere, good breakfast - could be bettered by just toasting the croissants a little. Location at walking distance from the Chateau and racecourse, private parking, a warm welcome for our cats.
Review 111:Nothing.
Review 112:It was a lovely hotel - very clean and nice. No complaints at all.
Review 113:Breakfast start at 8:00.
Review 114:Location is good. Price is good.
Review 115:Very niece hotel
Review 116:Good communication by email prior to arrival. Good breakfast (Continental). Good value for money (for the town). Good secure parking.
Review 117:Not a complaint - but tea making facility would be a nice added bonus
Review 118:Staff very helpful. Room comfortable and clean. Good value for money
Review 119:Unreliability of staff - hotel inaccessible in morning for breakfast at correct hour. Very small room.
Review 120:Location, restaurant.
Review 121:All the stairs to climb up to the room as no lift.
Review 122:In the middle of Chantilly. Large family room.
Review 123:Hardly any facilities and a very poor breakfast. Old bathroom and a bit smely.
Review 124:Very goog price and a good restaurant.
Review 125:The room was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. It had a private secure car park.
Review 126:everything else
