Reviews for Elements

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:Stayed boxing day. Great place and location. Lovely friendly staff. Ate in restaurant. Great food and value. What more can I say. Would stay again

Review 3:Stunning location and views. Friendly staff and a clean tip top room. Good sandy beaches a short distant away. Elements is known as the top hotel in Bude and well deserved.

Review 4:Internet didnt work in our room which was very frustrating as no phone signal either. Shower room was very small, being a bit claustrophobic i couldnt shower in it! Bed was way to soft, but thats personal preference.

Review 5:Staff were super friendly. Food in the resturant was amazing. Views were amazing.

Review 6:Fantastic stay. We were in the bungalow which is very spacious and felt home from home! Staff were very accommodating, especially when we locked ourselves out in the first 5 minutes of arrival!! Thank you all!!

Review 7:The location is beautiful and close to the beaches, we stayed in the bungalow. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant was very good.

Review 8:I thought the staff were absolutely brilliant! There was always a friendly face when walking in the door. Room was perfect, it was clean and tidy and suited our needs to a tee. Last thing, the restraint food is amazing! If you get a chance to eat there then honestly do!

Review 9:Romantic weekend away for early 40's couple. Lovely place to stay with good food comfortable room and lovely staff. Looking forward to visiting again.

Review 10:Very friendly, down to earth staff, clean & comfy accommodation, fab restaurant with beer garden overlooking spectacular scenery of the Cornish coastline

Review 11:initial room with sea view was disappointing as you had to stand in corner to see it (I htink it was 6), so Jacky moved us to 12 which was great! If we had to stay in the initial room, I would have been unhappy, as I personally expect a sea view from the bed or from a seating area in the room where you can easily see it and enjoy it.

Review 12:All of the above, staff in particular were all superb! And the food was delicious! We would stay here again and recommend to friends.

Review 13:We stayed in room 10, the extractor fan in the en suite rattled when it was windy outside..easily rectified by staff there.

Review 14:The views were great, hotel really clean and staff were really friendly.

Review 15:We have been going to Elements for some years now but this time the food was not up to standard. The fish was watery like it was cooked from frozen. The English breakfast was terrible. Change the sausage supplier ! and the bacon tasted like it was BBQ'd rather than grilled or fried.

Review 16:The location is fantastic and the staff were great.

Review 17:It was very cold at night and the heating wouldn't come on, there is no individual heating in the rooms. The water in the shower was very cold and took a long time to heat up. Other than this all was good.

Review 18:Being on the top floor it was a bit warm and has no air con. Wifi a bit slow aswell ( well, it is free!).

Review 19:Staff were very helpful and friendly. I had a 'small' double bedroom on the top floor, but it was everything you needed and tastefully decorated. Big enough for two people (perhaps not in the bathroom). Beautiful views, good food and easy parking. Great for a solo business traveller such as myself. Highly recommended.

Review 20:bathroom was bijou to say the least. the door was on a sliding rail but there was no rail at the bottom so the door was very difficult to close. Room could have done with a lick of paint and a dust to remove the very long red/ginger hairs on the drink tray!!

Review 21:the view from the window. overlooked widemouth bay in Bude. Amazing.

Review 22:The ou down poont was that the oven door didn't shut properly so we had to hold it shut to cook our food.

Review 23:We stayed in the bungalow-wow what a view. A great place, lots of space, comfy beds. Would definitely go back!!

Review 24:Very difficult to use the toilet as it was so close to the wall No socket to plug in electric tooth brush. Not the place to stay if you want a early night as bedrooms are above a very busy resturant.

Review 25:Stunning views helpfull staff

Review 26:Slow service at breakfast and bacon very salty. Breakfast finishes at 9.00am, which is very early as most places finish at 10.00am. Much better for guests.

Review 27:Dog-friendly and near Bude. Good bed and room.

Review 28:There is nothing not to like .

Review 29:The nice calm feel of the boutique hotel friendly and very knowledgable staff, in regard to local attractions, walks, events, even sports bars as one of our party wanted to watch a particular game, the restaurant serves amazing food. The setting for the hotel could not better with its fantastic views out to sea .

Review 30:No where to sit in the evening because the restaurant was always busy. No guest area inside. Room 8 was very noisy from the restaurant. Could not have an early night not quiet till gone 11. House keeping started relatively early in the morning. No room service. Could not always park when we got back to the hotel in the evening because all spaces were taken by restaurant guests.

Review 31:Staff were very welcoming and very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was first class. Was very quiet and beautiful location.

Review 32:Lack of warning about low ceilings - we hit our heads many times. Water for the shower was temperamental. Loud radio during breakfast. One older female member of staff's customer service skills were lacking somewhat.

Review 33:A lovely spot. Some very warm and friendly staff. Great live music during dinner one evening. Super sea-views.

Review 34:no-one on check in on arrival at 4.30pm

Review 35:amazing views relaxed friendly staff sauna and gym games on lawn and wild rabbits proximity to widemouth bay beach good deal with raven surf school-excellent lesson there

Review 36:Was very windy during our stay and our bathroom extractor clattered throughout the night, but don't suppose there's much that could be done about the effects of the wind! Cooked breakfast adequate, but choice a bit limited.

Review 37:Staff were brilliant - professional, friendly, approachable, efficient. Views magnificent, especially from the dining room, where the Italian menu also delivered delicious food with good choice of dishes.

Review 38:Private, off-street parking. Good we arrived early, as Elements is a restaurant too, the parking lot was quite packed. Book the table ahead to eat at the restaurant if you want a table. Fortunately we got the last table. Good food. The room was nice, clean. En-suite bathroom.

Review 39:Overpriced for quality of room. En-suite in room 3 pathetic, sliding door which would not shut (swings into room - even couples needs some privacy). Toilet took ages to refill after each flush. Had to ask for towels on arrival as only one set provided. One packet of biscuits between two people each day! One tea bag each, each day! Shower cramped and mould in cubicle. Dust (thick) behind bed along width. I had to move bed to get at sockets! Bacon on second day was cold and fatty. The owners may say why didnt we complain, well we are not your inspectors we are paying guests and on a short break we were just too busy and it just should have been right first time!

Review 40:Location good, staff nice, bed comfy.

Review 41:The restaurant evening food was not of the highest quality and might be compared with better quality ready meals, although the breakfast was very good.

Review 42:The location was superb, with fantastic sea views from the room and the restaurant. The hotel and restaurant presentation was great and the staff were very helpful.

Review 43:the down size was our shower was so so small it was just like going into a very small cupboard and the hotel only were interested in there restaurant clientele. It would be nice if there was more seating area inside. By the bar area

Review 44:we liked the location and the views from our room were wonderful

Review 45:If the people that were stopping at the elements B & B wasn't parked up by 5 o'clock you would not get in due to people coming to the restaurant for evening meal

Review 46:Every thing just average for us

Review 47:We really can't fault it. We went with our teenage daughter and even she was delighted. View it's spectacular, great food and lovely staff. Would go there again.

Review 48:Our attic room was very small & the shower was not for anyone over 5' 8''. Just the one little pack of biscuits? Bit stingy, most places give you one each.

Review 49:Very fresh, contemporary feel to the place & extremely popular with locals as well as visitors for food so book your evening meal in advance. Really friendly staff, comfortable bed. The room was described as "small double" which it was, fine for an overnight stay.

Review 50:Location is stunningly good for views and coastal paths. Staff were friendly and accommodating, very happy stay all round with good food and relaxed atmosphere. definitely recommend.

Review 51:Tiny shower room but adequate.

Review 52:Good all round B&B and great restaurant. Decor very clean and bright, very welcoming !. Superb breakfast from a little to a lot !

Review 53:Bathroom was way too small and the shower was even smaller - this meant that we were unable to bend down in the shower otherwise we would have hit our heads. Also there was no where to put your own shower gel, the shower took several minutes to warm up and the water pressure was not very good. The blinds in the bedroom had old stains on them.

Review 54:Location was good, hotel was clean, lovely views, lovely outside seating areas, food was nice and staff were helpful. Didn't use the gym or sauna and although that area was quite small it looked good.

Review 55:Nothing!

Review 56:Our room was in the attic and clean and well equipped. Lovely comfy bed and pillows and fresh towels every day. Breakfasts great, freshly cooked and ample choice of cereals, yogurts and pastries. Great views from our room and out to sea from the restaurant. Quiet and peaceful - will definitely be back!

Review 57:We were well looked after without the staff being in your face. The facilities were well thought out, everything for people who love sport or with small children. There is even a ps2 in the room so if it's raining you are still entertained. The food in the restaurant was fantastic, the breakfast second to none. Altogether unable to fault the hotel for the price.

Review 58:The restaurant were a bit "too efficient"! Ie, during our evening meal we felt like we were being rushed a little bit.

Review 59:Views were lovely, food was delicious

Review 60:Not what we expected when booked 6mths earlier, Apparently now with new Owners and catering to the younger clientele

Review 61:Although the Hotel was clean and accommodating. The Rooms were small and stairs were narrow. Staff and Food were the best parts of our stay. The views from the Hotel were stunning.

Review 62:Only minor issue was bathroom in our suite was a bit pokey but I'm sure other suites would be better.

Review 63:The best clifftop views around. A walk away from best beach around. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Top quality food in restaurant and an unbeatable breakfast. Cool, modern vibe with a great outside space making the most of those breath taking views.

Review 64:More suited to the family market - not my ideal choice - Restaurant was very noisy with screaming children, and crowded - but food looked reasonable.

Review 65:Well appointed room, large - good value at breakfast and good value generally. Good gym and sauna facilities - it waa shame the room was used for rubbish, left over debris and extra storage

Review 66:The weather..but no one could help that!

Review 67:The view..stunning over the sea. Fabulous breakfast! Staff really friendly. Loved the sauna, perfect for chilling out after a long drive. I had a single room with a my own personal bathroom just down the hall. Opening windows in the room meant I could control the temperature. Loads of free parking.

Review 68:Very comfortable room, easy access to the coast, and a good breakfast. A great place to spend the night after spending the day at Port Isaac and Tintagel.

Review 69:Only negative was the noise from beneath our room on Friday evening, as the restaurant and bar is open later for non guests.

Review 70:Location - great spot for walking, fantastic views of the coastline and Bude. Food - we had an excellent evening meal, and the English breakfast was first class. Would have been good if they had more fresh fruit. Staff - the staff were friendly and helpful and they were happy to accommodate my unexpected early check-in.

Review 71:not pet friendly as expected, told to use other side entrance with our dog. Would have tried the restaurant but unable to with our dog.Difficult to get a hot shower, ran cold most of the time when it ran at all.Rooms and bathrooms not to the standard expected.

Review 72:location, breakfast

Review 73:Rooms needed to be a bit more soundproofed.

Review 74:Elements is a lovely hotel in a superb position, near the coast path between Bude and Widemouth Bay. The hotel was very clean and attractively decorated. There were lovely views from the rooms. Food was well presented and tasty. The staff were friendly and eager to please.

Review 75:Not a bad experience by any stretch, but be aware that if you opt for a top-floor room, the bathroom will be very compact, and the ceiling is fairly low. The view will be lovely, though!

Review 76:We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were excellent and the food, both at breakfast and of an evening, were of a high standard. We especially liked the patio areas around the hotel.

Review 77:We were put back into hotel on 3rd night of our stay, and the room(5) was really fine, but to be honest we wouldn't have really enjoyed our stay if we had to have stayed their longer. It was very snug!! But now I'm nit picking...

Review 78:Location, great food, friendliness of staff. Your double booking meant that we had been located the bungalow - which was brilliant.

Review 79:We loved the location of this hotel and it seemed nicer than others in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was immaculate and nicely decorated.

Review 80:Slightly odd not having a sink in the private bathroom. Needed to either use shower to wash hands after having used the toilet or return to room to use sink.

Review 81:Great location. Very comfortable bed, lovely room and friendly staff.

Review 82:Small bathroom, hot water sometime a problem, long time to get it. Shower and curtain too small

Review 83:Great staff,great location,good food,reasonable room comfort

Review 84:Nothing to dislike at all !!

Review 85:Lovely room. Good , nicely cooked food. Lovely views. Warm welcome. Warm room (march ). Easy, free parking. Very clean throughout. Friendly , pleasant, helpful staff .

Review 86:Our room (10) was charming, but the walls are very thin and conversation and noisy shower in adjoining room woke us up just before midnight. Also, mattress was much too soft for our comfort, but this is just personal choice.

Review 87:Loved the décor, the position and the meals (we had evening meal and breakfast, both excellent). Very friendly staff.

Review 88:Room was shabby. Smelled damp. Double bed was two singles pushed together. Mattress was sunken in middle. Bad nights sleep.

Review 89:Beautiful views. Good food inc breakfast. Good service.

Review 90:Only small down side the bathroom was a bit small and the shower ran cold...... I do like a bath but space I realise is at a premium. I would stay again in a heart beat though.

Review 91:Fantastic staff, great location, clean and tidy and a very homely atmosphere

Review 92:we have a cocker spanial that travels everywhere with us and we go away alot and at times the rooms are not always nice because of the dogs but the room at elements was brilliant VERY clean, lovely room and the food tasty we would go back

Review 93:Would benefit from an additional bathroom / shower and toilet. A few minor cosmetic items could be repaired to complete the finish cupboard door knobs, tiling etc and done lamps not working, but that's being picky.

Review 94:The Bungalow is amazing. All rooms spotless and decorated in lovely peaceful colours and vintage style. Large bedrooms with quality linen. Ample space for large families or groups. Great facilities incl ps2, outdoor lawn for football and bowls. Exceptional scenery. Staff remarkable and nothing too much trouble. A breath of fresh air. We had a fantastic family few days here and will definately be coming back.

Review 95:When arriving at the hotel and realising I hadn't actually booked a table in the fully booked restaurant on Valentines Day, the hosts were extremely understanding and did their utmost to get us squeezed us in. Ever so grateful. Thanks :)

Review 96:Food portion sizes, extra large helpings. Some people may like this but we could finish one between the two of us.

Review 97:As soon as you walk in you're greeted by the front of house, great atmosphere and lovely room with sea view!

Review 98:Some small touches could improve a little bit but we are being picky; perhaps water in room and fresh milk would be great, also more biccies but it was perfectly fine. Also we stayed at a pet friendly hotel I'm pad stow recently who provided a dog package including a couple of treat sticks food mat and small blanket for you to take with you for a small charge - lovely touch

Review 99:Room great and comfortable with good facilities dinner and breakfast excelllent

Review 100:Bude was pretty much closed after 3.30pm. I suppose cafes would be open longer from spring time

Review 101:the location the scenery the coastal walk Jackie who works at Elements very kindly loaned me her walking boots because I'd forgotten mine. That was a very kind gesture indeed

Review 102:Elements is a special place to stay even when it's blowing a Gail it's lovely sitting in the conservatory watching the sea enjoying a lovely breakfast. The staff were very friendly highly recommended. Perfect for walking the coast path

Review 103:Having to leave after only two nights

Review 104:Quirkiness and location of the place, excellent food, very friendly staff and super warm room. Felt very home from home.

Review 105:Everything was as advertised on their website.

Review 106:Elements was located along the coastal road around Bude. A clean and friendly hotel with magnificent views. A good location for exploring the towns along the coast. Hotel is accessible with good parking facilities and a good Italian restaurant for lunches and dinner. Breakfast was varied and excellent with views over the landscape and sea. Rooms beautifully decorated, compact and clean.

Review 107:Hot water for the shower not always 100% reliable.

Review 108:Staff very friendly, helpful and professional. Good service overall, excellent breakfast and a good restaurant though perhaps slightly on the pricy side. Would certainly consider coming back if visiting the region again.

Review 109:en-suite was too small with sliding door which limited privacy.

Review 110:Friendly, helpful staff, views from the hotel, clean and comfortable room, free Wi-Fi, good choice of breakfast menu, easily located. great value for money

Review 111:The shower hose came off the bath taps and if you are tall it only hits you on the chest also the shower curtain clung to you. Could do with a longer shower hose and a shower screen.

Review 112:The restaurant, food and service was excellent

Review 113:Stayed to break up the journey en route to Cornwall. Very nice hotel - friendly and relaxed and great value. Would definitely go back. Thanks very much,

Review 114:The shower/ toilet room was very small, but I knew this from previous reviews. It was clean and all worked well so nothing to really complain about, if however you are large or just not good in confined spaces book a different room,we were in room 9.

Review 115:Friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable room , lovely cooked breakfast and very good food at the restaurant.

Review 116:Our room had dangerous low ceiling areas in the bathroom and bedroom. The bathroom floor is really slippery when wet and could do with resurfacing. Penny slipped and hit her head badly requiring medical attention.

Review 117:Staff Food - quality and variety Comfort

Review 118:The shower spluttered a lot when first turned on and wasn't sure it would stay on. The water was cold for a long time as well.

Review 119:Friendly staff Relaxed environment Comfortable, rooms nicely decorated, lovely lighting and sockets in the right places. delicious breakfast with lovely views over Bude.

Review 120:Breakfast was a tad early (finishes at 9am)

Review 121:Comfortable bed and room Great choice of food and service in restaurant Good sized breakfast Free WIFI Friendly and helpful staff

Review 122:The rooms need a bit of updating, there was a chipped mug in the room, I also had a chipped mug at the breakfast table & the shower did'nt work!

Review 123:The receptionist was very welcoming. we ate in the resturant and the food was lovely. The service was a bit hit and miss they were really busy though.

Review 124:We have travelled to many places in the world and have stayed in all sorts of accommodation . For this reason we would rate elements 9/10 and would also place them in our top ten. What a wonderful find . We will return to this very pleasant hotel.'

Review 125:Hard to criticize, but if I have to, then I guess in less beautiful surroundings, I might have complained about the small room and tiny shower, but here, all things can be forgiven.

Review 126:Relaxed but accommodating staff, terrific scenery. Arranged for me to have early breakfast before the official dining hours.

Review 127:Not really negative but just for info: if you arrive Late and want to have dinner you should Book a table in advance since the restaurant is very popular

Review 128:Superb location, wind, sea, Sun and rain, cool people, relaxed atmosphere

Review 129:1.good location easy to find with adequate parking 2.outlook from room and restaurant superb 3.the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming rather than clinically formal but still very efficient

Review 130:very beautiful location, there's just a small road between the Elements and the coast. Very nice for evening walks! The restaurant is very good, we had a delicious dinner!
