Reviews for Les Portes de la Vallee

Review 1:No taxis in town

Review 2:Fantastic host went out of her way to make my stay a pleasant one lovely room outstanding comfortable bed wonderfull breakfast perfection

Review 3:10 minutes walk to old town and restaurants.

Review 4:Nice family room with 2 separate rooms and balcony. Little playground outside very conveniant for families with kids; books & toys in the restaurant available. Nice pool. Free parking.

Review 5:Unfortunately there was no airco. And it was a hot period. But there was a fan put in the room.

Review 6:Quiet hotel, very near to the nice centre of Türckheim. Pool was very nice to dip in after a long hot day. Very, very clean also. In the evening and in the morning it was cleaned. Staff was very helpfull and nice. Free parking space available.

Review 7:Brekfast should be included in room price

Review 8:The hotel is just 15 min walking to the center of Turckheim ; is very good, new, clean , fresh , new furniture and air condioning in all rooms.Rooms are big and with small balcony-terace.

Review 9:1. No air in the room (no air conditioner, no ventilator with heat of +36*) 2. Strange/inconvenient rules for using facilities (swimming pool, pool table). It seems that they are there just for the sake of it ant not for the comfort of guests. 3. The reception was decorated (?) with sweets and opened jars of sweets (?) (5-6 of them). We thought that the jars of sweets were for guests (as it is usual in other places we stayed in France), but we were given notice that those are not to be touched. So you can imagine the drama the kids (and the parents) were enduring walking through the reception every time. For 2 days we really had a very hard time explaining the little ones why in this hotel the sweets in the opened jars were not to be touched. Really strange decoration choice. 4. The interior of the rooms was totally obsolete. 5. In comparison to the other 7 places we stayed in France during our vacation, here the quality/price ration was the poorest.

Review 10:Nice breakfast.

Review 11:The food, breakfast & dinner. The swimming pool was refreshing with the above normal hot temperatures that hit Europe our week of travel. The staff were helpful. the property was maintained perfect for the setting of this lovely wine country.

Review 12:If you are counting on going swimming there are very restrictive swim times to include no swimming after 7 pm

Review 13:Location, cleanliness, great wifi, pet friendly.

Review 14:This hotel was in a perfect location, only a 10 min walk to the quaint town of Turckheim (which has a train station). We used the train to visit Strasbourg and Colmar. It was easy driving distance to the small villages of Eguisheim and Kaysersberg, which both deserve a visit. The hotel was super clean. We had a superior double room, which was very comfortable. Breakfast was also good.

Review 15:That I couldn't stay longer!

Review 16:The location The staff - lovely family We borrowed bikes it was amazing! The food was delicious We had great fun on the pool table The rooms were immaculate and very nicely furnished Loved the idea of a safe Lovely pool Great to have onsite safe parking

Review 17:A little tricky to find but there was a diversion in place at the time. Breakfast quite pricey but of a good quality

Review 18:Super spacious rooms, lovely dining experience, clean

Review 19:No sheets but only a goose feather blanket. Too warm for the summer.

Review 20:The hotel has been restored recently, rooms are large and confortable and very well furnished. Very nice place to spend one night to visit "Le route des vins" an dfor a brief relaxing holyday.

Review 21:A clean and comfortable hotel, friendly and efficiently run, within walking distance from the cosy central streets of the village Turckheim. Very quiet. We used it for a 1-night stop during a trip to the south, but this hotel is for sure also suited for a longer stay in a walking/biking holiday.

Review 22:Nice alpine furniture Spacious room Very good breakfast worth the small charge

Review 23:Very nice room and modern building. Breakfast excellent - one of the best on our trip. Easy parking and in the middle of the Wine area.

Review 35:Nice Hotel about 5 minutes walk away of City Center Turckheim. Clean and modern Hotel, great breakfast. Highly recommendable

Review 36:The hotel is in a very quiet area, our room was relatively big, the beds were comfortable. It is only 10 a min walk from the pittoresque little town of Turckheim.

Review 37:The lack of an elevator to carry my lugagges.

Review 38:I liked everything on this hotel situated in a very quiet village. I choose this hotel as a base for visiting Riquewihr, Eguisheim, Colmar, Hunawihr, Ribeauville, le chateau Le Haut Koenigsbourg and Strasbourg, and I think was a excellent choice as a base to visiting this very beautiful region. Everything in the room is of high quality as well as the cleanliness. I really loved the hotel. From the 12 hotels I reserved on this trip, this was the best by far of all them.

Review 39:So disappointed about the bikes...... It says FREE but we have to rent bikes ( 2 Days, 4 persons and 132 Euro extra) We chosed this hotel because of bikes included in price. Not good! The swimmingpool is closed many hours/day

Review 40:Big rooms and very clean! Good breakfast! Perfect to stay in Turckheim

Review 41:At 6'3" a bed with a headboard is not good for me. The bedswere not very wide either, so sleeping 2 people meant I couldn'teven sleep diagonally (had to put a chair by the end of the bed andsleep with my legs on the chair which wasnt ideal). Other than that itwas perfect, so this is a small issue that was overshadowed by thetranquillity of such an amazing village.

Review 42:Amazing location right in the middle of the vineyards. If you get thechance take the small train form the centre through the vineyards and dothe tasting afterwards.

Review 43:just deckchairs around pool and even if there were sunlongers most of the around pool area was covered by the roof so no sunbathing chance, also strange pool opening hours 9-12 on Sunday? is that so family can use it in afternoon? no tea or coffee making facilities, no shower curtain so floor got soaked and dangerous after shower. wi-fi reception rubbish.

Review 44:nice big room, car parking across the road, quiet at night. very good breakfast.

Review 45:The hotel is in a small village which was an ideal place to explore thewider area. We had the superior double room which was large and airywith a pleasant sitting/TV area. The hotel was clean and the staffhelpful and friendly. The food was good, traditional French cooking andtheir Tarte Flambeau was the best we have tasted. Good value for money.

Review 46:We thought that there might be public transport running to the city aswe wanted to sample wine while in colmar but only taxis were available.Walking to Colmar wasn't an option as it was close to the road.

Review 47:The rooms were very well decorated spacious and clean. Breakfast wasalso good. Good value for money.

Review 48:nothing

Review 49:The accommodation was very comfortable, we stated in Superior Double Room for 4 nights and it was spacious and cosy. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast has good variety of choice. It is a right place to explore Alsace. The hotel is just 5 minutes away of old town, but have free parking place and good facility. The bikes was for free and were really modern.

Review 50:the location and village was perfect! The rooms were very clean, simple along with a great breakfast. Great parking. Wifi. Highly recommend this property.

Review 51:Small swimming pool with no privacy. No airco in bedrooms.

Review 52:Rural and non touristic location. Close proximity to Alsace townships and the Vosges.

Review 53:N/a
