Reviews for Caroline House

Review 1:Linda was very welcoming and made us feel at home. One of the best breakfasts on our travels. Walking distance to the Spittal beach and short drive to town of Berwick upon Tweed.

Review 2:nothing to complain about

Review 3:very close to the beach, friendly and helpful owners, lovely pets, spacious room and bathroom. We will definitely stay again when visiting these part of the country in the future.

Review 4:Dated furniture and rugs, longer to walk to Berwick than expected, overpriced compared to all other B&Bs we used on our trip

Review 5:Friendly, quiet, good breakfast

Review 6:Linda could not have been more welcoming. Really comfy, room and bed and just a stones throw away from a gorgeous sandy beach to stroll away your stresses. A warm welcome and a tranquil oasis by the sea. Recommended!

Review 7:I think guests need to be aware of the number of pets the owner has. As one allergic to cats I was slightly discomforted.

Review 8:Situation for our visit to Berwick was very convenient

Review 9:We liked the friendliness of Linda the landlady. The breakfast was really good and the conservatory where it was served was lovely. The location was excellent very near the promenade which was great and for walking along the cliff tops

Review 10:Lovely large, comfortable room, with spotless en suite and fab shower. 2mins from Spittal beach & esplanade, so excellent for walking our dogs. Quite area yet 5 mins drive into town. Tasty breakfast made to order.

Review 11:Very friendly welcome, comfortable room, pleasant evening stroll into town to eat, and a great breakfast served the next morning - a super stopover spot en route to Scotland!

Review 12:We have nothing negative to say about our stay.

Review 13:Arrived to a very warm and friendly welcome, lovely clean rooms, everywhere was spotless. Had a great nights sleep, which was then rounded off with a beautiful home cooked breakfast . Would definitely return.

Review 14:Bed could be more comfortable. Bedlinen was a little be old and washed off.

Review 15:The owner of the B&B was very friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Room was very spacious. Great location.

Review 16:Linda is a lovely host, the room was clean and tidy the breakfast with garden view, all food was local and tasty. Nothing over the top but comfortable enough.

Review 17:My mother found some one's reading glasses under her pillow. I was embarrassed as it was my treat. She left a note with the glasses but I never received an acknowledgement or apology. The gas meter was being replaced the following morning... So all in all a poor experience

Review 18:It was just okay.

Review 19:My stay at Caroline House was just what the doctor ordered... Relaxing place..... Linda and her husband were really relaxed and warmly welcomed me.... I even stayed an extra night!!

Review 20:Caroline House is a beautiful property with friendly landlady. It's about half an hour walk from town centre and 2 min from a lovely beach. Atmosphere at the house is very homely, doesn't feel like a B&B but as you would visit your auntie. This lovely B&B and other businesses are pet and people friendly

Review 21:The lack of picture in the description of the B&B is a bit annoying as people like to see what they are booking. The bathroom is not in the same room but this is just few steps away. This is not too uncomfortable and it didn't put us off at all. The bed wasn't too comfortable, but this is probably just because it was a bit to hot for us.

Review 22:The staff was really friendly and approachable. The room was very big and comfortable. The cooked breakfast was great and not greasy at all. The bathroom is really nice and the shower has a great big head! We would definitely go back.

Review 23:Slightly difficult to find. There are two streets with the same name a few hundred feet apart. (Not really a criticism of the property itself.)

Review 24:The B&B owner. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The layout of the room. Large, warm, beautifully laid out, with good facilities.

Review 25:that we couldn't stay longer! :)

Review 26:Great reception from Linda who us feel very welcome from the outset. Room & facilities were excellent & great value. Definitely recommend & will be back for sure

Review 27:No restaurants in Spittal, but Berwick is just short drive and has a good selection of excellent eateries.

Review 28:A sterile, bland hotel chain this certainly isn't, but that adds to the charm of this little gem of a B and B tucked away a few short steps from the magnificent Northumberland beach. The welcolme is genuine, helpful to a fault and our twin bedded room offered comfortable beds with good quality duvets in warm well equipped accommodation with tv, free view, radio and tea/coffee making facilities. There are even board games that you can play on the comfortable sofa if you get bored! Our room had a detached bathroom, but this was for our exclusive use and if you can't manage the 6 steps involved in getting there you should probably be looking for specialised accommodation. Breakfast was served in the conservatory where you can watch a variety of visiting birds or just enjoy the lovely English garden. The food is excellent, home grown or locally produced and the tomatoes were to die for. Thoroughly recommend!

Review 29:The B&B was a bit far from Berwick, about 30mins walk to the town.

Review 34:Everything from the warm welcome and the room and facilities. The breakfasts were excellent. The garden looked lovely. For dog and cat lovers the dogs and cats were very welcoming too. However the landlady did ask if we liked them before we met them and we thought that they made the house seem like a home from home. Thankyou.

Review 35:A nice part of Berwick only a 20 minute walk from over the water.. A pity about the rain.. But regular 10 minute buses just over to Berwick town centre.. The landlady.. Linda .. Was very helpful and freindly.. Nice size room with a retro radio.. Comfy bed and lovely location just 2 minute walk to the beach front.. A lovely freindly pub just 2 doors away.. We went to lemoncello in Berwick. A freindly cheap Italians.. Very much the same as sambucas in newcastle.. Whitly bay and tynemouth.. But this restaurant was much more tasteful and the staff were very freindly..
