Reviews for Inter-Hotel Au Relais Saint-Eloi
Review 1:There wre renovations works during our stay, so on the ground floor it was a bit dusty and noisy. It didn't bother us a lot though. From my point of view the breakfast was good but not worthy the price (10euro per person per night). For example, the milk in the coffee machine was in powder so drinks like cappuccino were not tasty. Espresso was good))) We ordered a room with two beds but in fact it was one with two mattresses and two blankets. Not like it bothered us a lot but still. Room is very small so good enough to spend night but not more. It was quite stuffy when the heating was on.
Review 2:The location in the center, just at one end of the big avenue, within walking distance from the central station and all touristic sights. Easy to find. Nearby there is the bus stop where you can take a bus to the station Saint-Pierre des corps. Friendly personnel. Room was clean, towels were changed every day. Bed was good, wifi worked good, tv worked good
Review 3:We had to ask for second towel even when they knew that is two of as. No one top up toilets roll for two days light was broken. Last day we asked can we have a cup of tea they said yes but we have to pay for it 6 euros! Bargain
Review 4:Location close to town centre
Review 5:Bit far from city centre and railway station to walk, but there were buses once you worked it out.
Review 6:Clean. Decent size and comfortable. Everything worked. It was a cheap deal.
Review 7:The hotel had a secure car park and was not too far from the old centre. The hotel looks a bit tired and the room was quite small but clean and ok for an over night stop . Lovely baker across the road.
Review 8:The hotel is very noisy at night, toilets flushing in adjacent rooms and above us making terrible gurgling noises for at least five mins after every flush, this went on all night!' Power showers also a noise problem and on the Friday night loud voices from various rooms. The reception is not manned overnight, one has to gain admittance using the pin no on the key fob so no one to complain to about the noise and I wasn't asked on checkout if I'd had a pleasant stay so couldn't complain without making a scene. The walls must be very thin, sound proofing required!! Plumbing needs to be looked at also in this hotel, management please take note. I would not stay again because of the noise problem
Review 9:Good location within easy walking distance to Old Town along a lovely tree lined boulevard. Greeted by friendly English speaking, helpful Receptionist. Nice room, and bathroom, both on the compact side but very clean. Bed very comfortable. Didn't take breakfast, it was over priced for what they were offering, suggestion:- bring your own kettle and visit lovely boulangerie across the road for gorgeous croissants and baguettes.
Review 10:All was fabulous!
Review 11:Exceeded expectations! I didn't know the brand of Hotel at all and wasn't expecting too much - but wow - just a great hotel! Staff were lovely - so helpful - they'd been trying to get in touch for a few days to confirm a query over what sort of cot we wanted for our third child! The hotel was quite unassuming from the outside but inside it was really sylish! All purple and dark grey - lovely! Parking was easy and free on the street too - the car park provided is small and was full when we arrived but we had no trouble finding a space in a nearby street. The bedroom was amazing! It was small but there was a mezzanine level for the bigger kids which they accessed with a ladder and they LOVED it! Really novel and a great space saving idea. Everything was gleaming clean. The location wasn't the best (although there was a wonderful bakery a minute's walk from the hotel for breakfast) and just a short stroll up an avenue of trees takes you into the heart of Tours - a city well worth a visit, if not for the stunning historical buildings but the for shopping! We definitely plan to go back!!
Review 12:size of the room, condition of carpet in common areas (elevator, entrance door), door locks.
Review 13:Friendly and very helpful staff, location, parking (both hotel and free parking around), location
Review 14:Room was hot and we were recommended by the receptionist to eat breakfast elsewhere
Review 15:Secure parking and kids loved their beds on a mezzaine floor in the room
Review 16:There was only half a toilet roll, filthy dirt under the bed. Towels only for 2, when we needed 3. Noisy air conditioning which let out a loud whistle - and the family section was a high, steep ladder to a loft area and the airconditioning did not reach there, so boiling and uncomfortable.
Review 17:Location 10-15 minutes walk to old quarter, secure car park and clean white sheets made it bearable.
Review 18:N/A
Review 19:Location to town centre, great staff, we arrived at approx 19.30 and the receptionist met us with a massive smile, she was really friendly and helpful with parking and telling us how to get to the town center, We left early the next morning and another receptionist was on and she was really helpful aswell, Great customer service
Review 20:Continental Breakfast was being charged at 10 euros per person! Small pastries and some cheese and bread was very very expensive in my opinion!
Review 21:Location, price
Review 22:It was quite expensive for a family room compared to other places we've stayed in France.
Review 23:Staff were very friendly, room was clean and perfect for my family, parking on street for free (was a bit worried about my car but it was fine), hotel slightly out of town but only a short walk.
Review 24:It said on the website that there was no need to reserve parking yet when we arrived there was no space in the car park. We specifically booked the hotel as it said it had secure parking.
Review 25:We were surprised that this hotel did not have a resturant open most nights.
Review 26:This hotel is ideally set to wander into the old town. Very good point for tourists.
Review 27:Booked a superior room and was not impressed. Air con machine not working, room very small and overlooked flat roof. Shower room very compact. De finitely not superior room!
Review 28:Secure parking within city.
Review 29:The shower leaked.
Review 30:The hotel is clean and newly redecorated, I liked the comfort of the room and the cleanliness of the bathroom. The air conditioner was essential during the 40 C heat. The central station is 15 mins away on foot. The distance to the city centre, the main attractions and shopping area is the same.
Review 31:family room was horrible and super hot for the kids up in the attic...no one could sleep. A/C was so loud it was like being in a train station!
Review 32:good location
Review 33:the wifi was a bit unreliable.
Review 34:Everything was perfect: crisp, clean sheets, shiny bathroom, excellent shower, great bed, big window, nice breakfast, excellent staff who gave me quick and useful advice on finding my way around town, couldn't have been happier
Review 35:Housekeeping could be better. In our room the batteries in the air conditioner control were flat and corroded, one pillow was missing and a bulb in the bedroom waa blown. Staff were quick to respond which was good.
Review 36:Breakfast was good. Staff responsive.
Review 37:The room was crammed, you have to take turns circling the bed, A7C was spotty and smelling. Breakfast was extremely expensive for the choice it gave and overall the value for money was on the south side. Wi fi passable but you have to log in every time. Plenty of tour bus tourist who obviously enjoyed a better package deal.
Review 38:I booked after staying there last year and being quite satisfied with the place. The restaurant has a very high quality/price ratio.
Review 39:The underground car parking was very tight for a big vehicle and there was plenty of evidence of scrapes on walls and pillars. Also the lights were on a timer and we were plunged into darkness as we were unloading the car on arrival. The lift didn't serve the car park and cases had to be lugged up the stairs.
Review 40:The interior décor of the hotel, both in public areas and in the bedrooms. The restaurant had a good menu, the food was excellent and very nicely presented. The staff were very helpful and extremely efficient
Review 41:The air conditioning unit was noisy and it was not possible to keep the window open in the night because of a machine noise outside.
Review 42:Good shower, cleanliness and ability to have off road parking.
Review 43:i would have liked the restaurant to be opened it should say on the blurb if it is not open
Review 44:fine for the money
Review 45:Clean and comfortable
Review 46:room was dark and cramped
Review 47:very friendly staff and a great breakfast
Review 48:pet fee quite high
Review 49:private parking and good restaurant on site
Review 50:Difficult to get to from the south A touch expensive
Review 51:Excellent multilingual staff Excellent quality food in the restaurant
Review 52:Very pleasant staff
Review 53:Garage, breakfast, bathroom
Review 54:Nice clean rooms with very comfortable beds. The staff were very polite and friendly. Couldn't ask for more.
Review 55:Helpful staff who pointed out the way to the old part of town and helped with setting up of the wifi.
Review 56:Perfect location, clean and comfortable. Would certainly recommend.
Review 57:room and bed
Review 58:location friendly personel
Review 59:It was very clean and comfortable
Review 60:Clean, cheap, great location, nice breakfast, easy to find and secure carpark
Review 61:Very small space for the family with young children
Review 62:Staff are friendly Clean Utilities
Review 63:Thought was going to be family room but was a mezzanine which was not suitable for our children.
Review 64:Very helpful staff sorted out 2 double rooms instead.
Review 65:I had no bad anything
Review 66:all good
Review 67:Size of room but adequate.
Review 68:Very helpful and friendly staff
Review 69:Nothing
Review 70:Everything, great team made my stay memorable.
Review 71:Really friendly, welcoming staff
Review 72:Air conditioning in heat of the summer. A good night's sleep
Review 73:Position short walk to old town, river and main square. Friendly, helpful reception staff, especially Maxine. Quiet and spotlessly clean.
Review 74:Room too small
Review 75:No problems
Review 76:Location, secure parking. Excellent breakfast. Efficient staff
Review 77:Parking should be free. Better internet service
Review 78:None
Review 79:Staff were very friendly. The room comfortable and modern. Excellent location.
Review 80:Nice Hotel
Review 81:No bad side to our stay
Review 82:Very convenient.
Review 83:Friendly people, tea in our room at night!
Review 84:the room was quite cold despite of the heater, but hey, it's winter :) there was only one AC power socket
Review 85:location = very good for a price, 5 min to the center by bus (bus stop is nearby) or 20 min by foot wi-fi = easy login, no problems with the connection, strong signal, multiple devices allowed staff = friendly, very helpful, very good english room = clean, enough space (not for dancing :-D but okay to stay for a couple of days) bathroom = very spacious, although very cold @ winter (no heater I think) Overall very good services
Review 86:Hotel is very close to the city so we were able to walk to centre in 15 minutes. Hotel had been newly decorated. Extra bed was on mezzanine so son enjoyed climbing ladder to bed.
Review 87:Stay in hotel has left unpleasant impression. The view from the window is closed by the plastic panel. The window opens badly. In a room it is stuffy. There is no teapot. Instead of glass glasses - disposable plastic. One chair for two. In a shower cabin there is no shelf. Therefore when you wash, gel should be held in a hand.
Review 88:Anything.
Review 89:Air conditioner was old and noisy, one part fell off during night.
Review 90:Good location with friendly and flexible staff, we had a large room with good design. There is onsite parking, but we parked outside hotel for free. Breakfast good value.
Review 91:Family room for 4 people was very small, children had to sleep on a platform attic above the bathroom. The steep ladder restricted both the exit to the room and the bathroom door. Decoration poor with peeling wallpaper. Air-conditioning unit very noisy. Staff unfriendly. Parking too tight and low for our car. Quite a walk to the old part of town.
Review 92:Whilst there the aircon unit in our room leaked constantly soaking thecarpet. At 2.25 am when trying to contact someone the phone line wasengaged and reception was unmanned. Manager attempted to discount roomby €25 for the inconvenience. She should have agreed immediately to mydemand for a full refund. As it was she agreed but the good was gonefrom if then as it came across as a begrudging gesture rather than agenuine apology for a completely unacceptable situation. It was pureluck that the manager was actually in the hotel the morning we wereleaving. Had she not been there the refund could not have beenprocessed. Lesson that I learned was never to agree to pay for the roombefore staying in it. I had agreed to pay for it purely for the sake ofconvenience when asked by the reception staff member when checking in.
Review 93:Convenient car parking. Easy walk into town centre. Rapid response inthe morning by manager to my hand written note I left at reception.Full refund agreed eventually for being allocated a completely sub-standard room.
Review 94:The hotel was a long walk from the centre of town and restaurants.
Review 95:It was difficult to get accommodation during the Tour de France, and we were pleased that we could find a hotel room that was cheap and clean.
Review 96:The timed lights on the stairs go off too soon. They went off when my wife was nearly at the bottom of the stairs and she fell heavily through the bottom doors cutting her head and her arm and fingers. The staff showed little concern.
Review 97:Updated, but rooms not spanking new renovated. Last bus from town 8:45PM, but only a 20 min. walk.
Review 98:Good value. Helpful staff. Fine wireless. Updated bathroom. Bus near the door. Fun multi-lingual parrot in the lobby. Clean. Quiet (especially an inner room).
Review 99:No where to hang towels which meant they had to e changed each day - unnecessary for an eco-friendly hotel. Not quite enough room for luggage. Wifi was intermittent.
Review 100:Staff
Review 101:The hotel and rooms are a bit tired and could to with a revamp. The room was an ok size for one, but the bathroom and shower are quite small.
Review 102:The hotel offers parking and is not very far from the centre of town. The staff were friendly.
Review 103:Car park underground was very handy but access to it was very narrow, especially if you met someone driving in the other direction
Review 104:Good position within 10 minutes walk of the old town. Clean rooms and reasonable breakfast. Very useful overnight stop.
Review 105:The shower did not work no shower curtain and no shower attachment. Dark room very basic
Review 106:The relais served excellent food. Useful to have parking but flooded when we left.
Review 107:the price. It was a budget hotel with additional charges for breakfast and parking and became very expensive for the quality. A budget hotel at mid range prices
Review 108:the location was ok
Review 109:Room a bit cramped with little space for cases. A bit of a walk to thehistoric centre.
Review 110:Breakfast Quietness Private garage Found the higher priced menudisappointing, the other one was fine.
Review 111:very pleasant hotel, I gave it high marks for location because it is across the street from the train and bus station and a short walk to the pedestrian area of old town.
Review 112:Excellent position for seeing the sites. Breakfast good, room was comfortable but small. Decor needs updating. Parking facilities good and very secure.
Review 113:Room was freezing cold, with only one thin blanket on the bed and one spare, and bathroom was totally unheated with a shower that didn't drain properly and flooded the whole floor.
Review 114:location, staff, secure parking
Review 115:The room where we stayed was gloomy. The towels were color brown. The room is too small ... you only have basically a space to get in and out of bed. Luckily we are NOT huge people as it will be difficult for them to move around. The room must be locked by the key from the inside. We need to switch on the light as soon as we get out of the lift to see where are we going. The bathroom is too small as well ... They must paint the whole room in a color that will make it more upbeat !!! People are tired from their trip and the next thing we want to be in ... is a room that will make you feel relax !!!
Review 116:We found out that there is a supermarket nearby and some restaurants 5 minutes walk from the hotel ... a petrol station is just beside it and there is a place where you can buy bread and some cakes. They have a heater in the room and a free wifi .....
Review 117:A bit far from old city but only there overnight so great get away to train station in the morning. Bedroom was very cramped with a third bed accessed by ladder , behind the bathroom
Review 118:Coffee Machine broken. Average Breakfast. Member of staff had to give uphis parking space to accommodate us. 40 Euros dearer than for similarstay in Burgos (Spain) the following day.
Review 119:Friendly Reception. Lovely Room.
Review 120:Difficulty finding it (probably my map-reading!). It was a bit further from the old town that the publicity seemed to imply.
Review 121:Very friendly and helpful staff. Well designed room with ingenious use of space. Clean.
Review 122:Dreary decor gave appearance of uncleanliness. Carpet should be replaced with hard flooring. Bathroom needed complete refurbishment. Red felt cloths on breakfast tables did not seem hygienic. Old fashioned and dreary, needs facelift.
Review 123:Good breakfast, secure parking
Review 124:We were there on a Friday night, the restaurant was closed.
Review 125:Good parking, the hotel is a little difficult to find as it is just around the corner. Access to the old city is easy as it is just down the road. Other than that it is a good 2 Star establishment.
Review 126:The room was extremeley small and we couldn't open the window. We couldn't stand up more than 2 people. The children's bed was up and they had to climb some wood stairs to get to their beds. If the stair was open the bathroom's door was blocked so it wasn't enough space.
Review 127:The location was good.
