Reviews for Hôtel du Mouton
Review 1:I didn't like that no one was in the hotel when we arrived. We had to telephone to find out how to get in, but it was Christmas Eve, and only a small thing.
Review 2:The hotel had a great location in the centre of pretty old town. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice, great coffee.
Review 3:Everything about this hotel was fantastic! The staff, room, food and location were top notch. My friend and I really enjoyed our stay at Hôtel du Mouton and in the town of Ribeauville. A perfect place to stay while exploring the Alsace Region.
Review 4:Very little storage for clothes. Same issue in the toilet for your after shave and other accessories
Review 5:Good location for exploring Alsace. Hiking routes close to the hotel.
Review 6:A great place to stay in our favorite village in Alsace. The hotel is clean and comfortable, the hosts are very friendly and helpful and speak good English.
Review 7:The Hotel Du Mouton was exactly as described and therefore met all of our expectations. We liked that there were no disappointments at all. In addition, the hotel has a lovely restaurant where we had a delicious dinner at a fair price.
Review 8:This pretty hotel is almost at the end of the main street through a lovely medieval town. Parking could be a little restricted during high season but it would be worth it. The rooms were clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and helpful and there was a good choice for breakfast.
Review 9:The bed was a bit too small.
Review 10:Beautiful place in the wonderful city Ribeauville. A pleasure te diner outside in front of the hotel. Very nice hotel with good accomodation. Very friendly staff and a good breakfast.
Review 11:This hotel has no air conditioning. However, the proprietor recommended that we open the windows at 7pm, and we would be comfortable. He was right!
Review 12:This hotel is a GEM! Great location, lovely decor and a fabulous restaurant. Highly recommend.
Review 13:I can't think of anything I did not like.
Review 14:The room was clean and comfortable. Parking was pretty easy around the hotel. The breakfast was more than adequate. The young couple that runs this place knows how to do it right. I would highly recommend it. However, there is no air conditioning.
Review 15:I really enjoyed my recent stay at the Hotel Mouton. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the dinner and breakfast were excellent and I really liked my room with a beautiful view of the square, but the location was fortunately quiet at night.
Review 16:WIFI connectivity needs improvement. If I just laid my iphone down on the nightstand, I would lose connection. This required me to sign in numerous times in one night. At times the male owner was abrupt with my questions. At one point his rush to help almost cost us a 40 Euro taxi ride to Colmar gate. Thanks to his wife's help, she was able to gather the correct transportation information and our cost by public transport cost us only 4 Euro each. All in all it was a great stay.
Review 17:Hotel Mouton is a lovely, well maintained hotel. It is owned and managed by a professional couple with a beautiful little girl. The staff in the restaurant also treated us with a professional manner and meals were a good value especially compared to those in the village. Quality of food preparation and taste were quite good.
Review 18:No negative experiences.
Review 19:Lovely traditional building at the top of the town's high street. Friendly welcome and very good food in the restaurant. Clean, comfortable room with all expected facilities. Plenty of free parking nearby.
Review 20:No complaint whatsoever
Review 21:Clean, terrific location and run by very friendly and welcoming young couple. Their English was also better than my French. Very good buffet style breakfast. Free street parking overnight.
Review 22:Parking is a problem every day/night. A bit short on drawer space (no dresser) to unpack.
Review 23:A great place to stay and use as a base for exploring small towns in Alsace. Room was spotless. Breakfast was ample and filling. We had a very enjoyable dinner at the inn. Highly recommend as a place to stay in Alsace!
Review 24:Had to park a long way away, and the first day, right outside the main part of the town.
Review 25:location. Comfort of beds. Restaurant. Good breakfast. Friendly owners.
Review 26:The Wi-Fi was frustrating as you had to repeatedly log in off and on throughout the 24 hour free pass. That was my only complaint.
Review 27:Loved the staff - sweet couple and their little girl have been running the place for about a year. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. The place is gorgeous and in a great location. Some folks that are picky sleepers may hear noise with open windows, but that did not bother us and the beds are super comfortable!
Review 28:Having to get 3 different wifi codes to use ipad, iphone and macbook was a pain.
Review 29:The room was lovely, the staff very friendly and accomodating, the location was great, the price very reasonable, the hotel charming. It's very pretty, our room was nice, the staff looked after us very well, I can't comment on breakfast as we had to leave at 6.30am so missed out on it. Very nice for the price.
Review 30:°Lots of stairs to climb to room / no lift
Review 31:°Old-fashioned charm °Comfortable room °Good restaurant on premises °Great location on Place Sinne °Peace and quiet
Review 32:Don't take a room at the back, the rooms over the restaurant are the best. Parking a little bit difficult, but not really a problem.
Review 33:Lovely room over the front of the hotel, great view. Excellent restaurant. Personal attention from staff.
Review 34:If coming to Ribeauville when temp. Is 35 degrees then book somewhere air conditioned. For the other 350 days Du Mouuton is fine. Anyone over 185cm needs to watch their head on the staircase as it is low at one point and it needs to be padded at one point!.
Review 35:We arrived in the middle of a heat wave so everyone was understandably frazzled. Like most hotels in this price range within a 400 year old building it was not air conditioned and had stairs only. However room was fine (if hot) and looked out onto the Nice "Square". Bathroom was spacious by French standards although shower was a long flexible fitting over a bathtub which was fine and fixtures were modern. We enjoyed a suite which just had a bit of extra room with the bed and "living" seperated only by some rustic beams. Breakfast buffet okay for price. Terrace for dinner was outdoors beside " square or triangle" and very nice to enjoy drinks .
Review 36:We are on a cycle holiday and it would have been good to have a hair dryer and tissues in the room.
Review 37:We were in chamber 2 and had a street view. The room was comfortable and spacious. Good to have hooks and decent towel rails in the bathroom. Staff were helpful.
Review 38:Very nice, not too spoilt town near fabulous hiking routes and in the midst of endless vineyards.

Review 65:Nice location...easy to go outsite for central place..the room is comfortable also
Review 66:Our room had pretty views of the fountain. It was in a perfect central location to explore Ribeauville, as well as the rest of the Alsace region.
Review 67:The restaurant was excellent both for Breakfast and Dinner. Beautiful location and perfect quiet location
Review 68:Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, atmosphere very homely, breakfast was nice.

Review 70:Nice clean, tidy refurbished room. nice owners and staff. Parked across the road all good thanks.
Review 71:a little bit to hot
Review 72:localisation
Review 73:We had a big problem to sleep, there is a church just right behind the hotel and the bells were ringing the whole night. It was almost impossible to sleep.
Review 74:The hotel is an incredible typical historical building right in the center. Very beautiful location. It was very clean and spacious. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Review 75:Free parking in the square was fine off-season. Might be more of a problem during the high season.
Review 76:Location overlooking the picturesque square excellent. Hotel restaurant was very good and their menu seemed the best in town.
Review 77:Driving through town can be challenging due to narrow streets and multiple pedestrians. Owner showed up late for check-in, but we spent the time at the hotel bar/restaurant next door.
Review 78:Fantastic views, charming city. Lots of little shops, wine caves and restaurants to explore. Friendly staff.
Review 79:Wonderful location with friendly staff and a superb restaurant. Spotlessly clean and spacious room. Just a shame we only had one night to stay there.
Review 80:Location is great. The pension is situated in probably the most beautiful old vilage in Alsace and is located at a quite and gorgeus square that looks like the first scene from Allo-Allo.
Review 81:Free wifi is complementary but a little slow and frustrating.
Review 82:Friendly owners who are very hands on with the efficient operation of their hotel. Awesome food served in a cozy dining room. Excellent housekeeping staff; very clean. Perfect location. We spent 2 nights there with our large family and wish we could have stayed longer. Truly a gem.
Review 83:Rooms a bit small and slightly noisy. But for the price you cant really complain !
Review 84:Excellent location in the center of Riveauvile, Good Restaurant with local dishes Very good value for the price
Review 85:Excellent location :). Staff was very friendly and helpful(they opened the office early so we could check in prior to 3:00pm). I would definitely stay again :)
Review 86:No negative points that I can make!
Review 87:Very cosy and excellent situated. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast choice. We certainly will return to this hotel.
Review 88:Could hear the noises from the corridor because there is no intermediate space between the room itself and the door but I guess very little can be done about this.
Review 89:Our room had a view on the small square, which is charming! The personnel is very nice. Overall warmly recommend this hotel and the town of Ribeauvillé for stаying when visiting Alsace.
Review 90:Some work was needed in the water closet to hide some exposed pipe and wall. No big deal, just an eye sore.
Review 91:Great location in the historic town center. We had a beautiful view of the fountain from our room. The room was spacious and clean. It's a perfect location for touring the Alsace.
Review 92:- The parking was a small problem, because there were no space for a car near the hotel. We left the car in the street some 10 minutes walk from the hotel. - The town itself was very crowded - we hoped for a more peaceful place, but it was packed with tourist (it was August - perhaps that was the main reason).
Review 93:Hotel is in the centre street of Ribeauville, our room had a nice view to the fountain.
Review 94:Location was awesome! Staff was very responsive and welcoming before we even arrived and while there! Room was nice and overlooked courtyard area. Would definitely stay again!
Review 95:The rooms facing the street have a lovely view, but they can be noisy (especially in summer if you have the windows open).
Review 96:Beautiful old hotel right on the old town square.
Review 97:No wifi! Missing egg at breakfast.
Review 98:Charming hotel with a good restaurant. Parking 100 m away at the churchwas free. We could really recommend both the hotel and the village.
Review 101:No internet, but for a one night stay it was okay. There is no on-site parking, but we found parking in the area...less than a five minute walk to the hotel.
Review 102:My room was very comfortable and the staff was quite friendly. The location is excellent...walking distance to charming cafes and boutiques.
Review 103:arrived on Thursday and hotel restaurant and bars was closed. Was not informed about this on check in. Other restaurants nearby were open so not really a problem to get a meal. Hotel is in the upper town and parking is very limited so had to bring bags some distance when checking in and out.
Review 104:Clean room, good shower. Everything worked.
Review 105:Nothing negative. Just something to consider if you can select your own room: we booked two rooms. One room on the street side: no complaints about noise but second room was located above the kitchen and complaint about noise from garbage pick up early in the morning (waking them up)
Review 106:Very clean, good location, friendly staff, good restaurant. Breakfast was exactly what I expect. (no buffet style but getting served)
Review 107:I don't need air conditioning in a traditional historic building, but afan wouldn't hurt. Room was very hot at night. Staff were good andefficient, but a bit reserved for a busy tourist location. .
Review 108:The location is a great base for hikes in the Vosges and visits to theother towns along the Route Des Vins and Colmar Hotel is a gorgeoushistoric building looking out over Place Sinne. Room was good, clean andtidy, and apart from the heat control, was very comfortable.
Review 109:WiFi would be nice, but that's not a huge deal.
Review 110:The location could not be beat! And the room we stayed in was huge, especially for traveling in Europe.
Review 111:Unfair Price Quoting. In the small print additional costs are hidden.
Review 112:Excellent Location in the middle of the village. Old building withsmall, but nice rooms.
Review 113:wifi didn't work in the bedrooms. In this day and age there shouldn't be any problems with wifi in hotels
