Reviews for Le Grand Large

Review 1:The breakfast was too expensive. At 18 euros it cost more than a menu for an evening meal at a local restaurant and although good I doubt that anyone could eat 18 euros worth! I don't like piped music in the public spaces. Ruined the peaceful atmosphere of the surroundings.

Review 2:The outstanding position, views and proximity to a wonderful and uncrowded beach. The bedroom and the public rooms were comfortable. The air conditioning system was excellent and noiseless.

Review 3:A little expessive but no regrets. The only little thing that disturbed me was that everytime you want to go to the spa or to the beach, you pass in front of the reception. A little screen would be nice, but the people are so charming that it's not much of a problem. Other than that, I loved the place and hope you will too.

Review 4:Perfect stay! just to be shure I recommend you inquire of the rooms at the back, nice view "partialy" on the sea but close to road and entrance of hotel as this is not mentioned. From your terrace you see people passing by to go to the beach. This depend on each person, personnaly for calm and privacy I changed my room to the sea front view and...well beautifull view and calm!would of liked a balcony though.. Excuisit stay with sound of the sea , sunshine nearly all day, view of the sunset. Location to the beach is great, little path to get there which is really nice. Swimming pool and jacuzzi very well maintained. windows could have a wee clean though. Nice walks on the beach, surfers take your board. Foodwise, I advise the lotte. I found there were maybe not enough choices for mains. Service great. I advise you strongly to do a massage with Marion from the aqua-marine. She does one hour of indian massage that is divine, view on the see, windows open, you can relax to the sound of the waves. Everybody was really lovely, kind, helpfull and understanding. I felt really welcome all the stay and will definitally go back and I absolutly recommend this place.

Review 5:Remote location. No facilities on beach. Not being able to eat in the fully booked restaurant. We came by bike and had to take a €20 taxi ride each way to a restaurant. No decaf coffee/chocolate with the room drink making kit. Very odd for this price hotel. No shop nearby to buy any. Bring a pillow if you like something softer than foam rubber. Bar very stingy with quantity of wine. Morning checkout very disorganised and slow.

Review 6:Good beach Fun architecture Decent room Presumably a good restaurant.

Review 7:The opposite side of the coin is that by being remote you are tied to the hotel or have to drive into town for dinner.

Review 8:Location was perfect to chill out. Decor was good throughout. Proximity to the beach was good but access needs a little work. Restaurant was good but is limited to fine dining that you don't always want on holiday.

Review 9:You needed to drive to get to restaurants

Review 10:The hotel was situated right on the beach , after spending over a week travelling through the French countryside it was exactly what we wanted. We had a long walk on the beach just after breakfast which was wonderful.

Review 11:Garden and sunbathing area looked tired , would be better paved but Ratten furniture and umbrellas lovely area to sit out. Restaurant alittle pricey and the food ok. View and staff made the experience though!

Review 12:Loved the location. Rooms and hotel contemporary and relaxing. Beautif view from restaurant. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 13:situation piscine couverte jacuzzi

Review 14:Smell of the interier. They need to change cleaning products.

Review 15:Position, outlook. Spa.

Review 16:The wifi was not available when you stayed on the sun terrace...

Review 17:Great rooms with high standard bathroom.

Review 18:The rooms were tiny and it was expensive for what you got.

Review 19:We had a lovely meal there but the menu is the same every night

Review 20:Somewhat close to the road

Review 21:Nice view, small scale, comfortable rooms

Review 22:close to the long beach, ideal for walking. Quiet, away from traffic and hustle. Imaginative cuisine

Review 23:nothing

Review 24:Everything

Review 25:Wi-fi only works in the hotel lobby. No signal in the rooms. Did notify management on this.

Review 26:Great location near the beach for the sunsets etc.

Review 27:Same menu for the 3 days we were there, and over priced.

Review 28:Ideal for beach.

Review 29:The breakfast was adequate, but we have had better for less.

Review 30:The location suited us perfectly with easy access to the beach and generally convenient for the other places we wanted to visit. The dinner was superb, with each course providing an amazing range of taste sensations!

Review 31:There was very limited space around the basin for personal items: nor could the basin be filled up. The shower was poor in design and function. The breakfast cold meats section was only salami when we went down the first day: we saw a much bigger chice on the second day and realised it had just not been replenished: and the coffee is weak: though the waitress immediately brought an expresso allonge to strengthen my cup. We did not eat dinner in the restaurant.

Review 32:The setting was wonderful: the staff very friendly.

Review 33:Charging 3,50 for a (N)espresso..... Is a bit over the top andunnecesarry for a otherwise reasonable price/quality hotel.

Review 34:Nice hotel, very good restaurant, decent price/quality.

Review 35:The comfort rooms are tiny. If you want to wsing a cat at all, you're best not going for the lowest priced room option. There is no chance of getting a bite to eat, not even a sandwich, outside set mealtimes. So if you arrive at 3pm after a long journey and don't want to go out again in search of a place to eat, you'll starve.

Review 36:Fantastic location on the beach. Great indoor pool and jacuzzi perfect for complete relaxation with superb views. Amazing gastronomic restaurant. Delectable food! The owners have done a great job transforming a former 60s style concrete hotel block into a modern design hotel with the addition of the floor-to-ceiling glass frontage overlooking the Atlantic which houses the pool and restaurant areas.

Review 37:Nice location directly at the beach, very quiet, very comfortable rooms, those with direct view to the Atlantic are great

Review 38:very average breakfast

Review 39:the coastal location and the architecture of the building together with all the very interesting artwork throughout the hotel

Review 40:How close the hotel was to the beach, just a short minutes walk and you were on a fabulously quiet beach.
