Reviews for Hôtel du Fiacre

Review 1:The warm welcome, the effort and attention to detail of staff. Intimate and knowledgeable about the area and it's attractions including where to eat. Personal attention from the owner and flexibility of approach. Close to centre. This isn't fancy, just simple, comfortable, attractive building and courtyard and genuine hosts.

Review 2:nothing

Review 3:Lovely old building from centuries past, beautifully renovated. Breakfast was suberb. Patio area very relaxing. The staff were extremely helpful, gave a super ideas for touristing and were attentive to all our needs.

Review 4:The neighbourhood seems a little rough, especially after dark, but only on the downtown side of the hotel.

Review 5:The hotel is in a artfully decorated building from the 18th century. The staff are wonderful, and they serve a good breakfast either in the courtyard or in an elegant salon.

Review 6:It's difficult to unload luggage but public free parking very close.

Review 7:Incredibly helpful staff and marvellous breAkfast with extras if you want them. Beautiful old manor building with rooms round a courtyard not unlike a morrocan Riyadh.

Review 8:Access to hotel is somewhat difficult to find.

Review 9:This is a very agreeable hotel. The accommodations are functional and well decorated. The breakfast is plentiful but mainly the welcome is warm and personal. A delight to stay in this hotel.

Review 24:Quirky decor, very helpful staff and excellent central location

Review 25:Great location, excellent decor in room, nice garden, friendly staff, town is fascinating

Review 26:The building and rooms are fantastic. The garden and terrace Breakfast

Review 27:Location

Review 28:The latest checkin time 21:00 is not acceptable. We never had similar problems in other hotels. We were almost facing the trouble not being able to check in during late night. The hotel management should be much more flexible and care about customer needs.

Review 29:The lady staff helped solve the problem of restricted number of guests in each room and helped with luggage and trip arrangement.

Review 30:1)Hotel does not have elevator & 2nd floor means 3rd floor in Canada. 2)you have park down the street in Public Parking that is not supervised. 3)Carpentras is not a tourist friendly town with very few restaurants & city shuts down very early. 4)Wife & I walking home from dinner @ 8 pm were spat @ by local walking by!!

Review 31:1)Carpentras is located centrally to all need to see history in Provence. 2)hotel owner very friendly & helpful

Review 32:No safe nor shaving mirror in the room. Garage a little bit away.

Review 33:Very friendly, charming hotel. Old Mansion tastefully restored. In the old city near to all cultural attractions and the excellent restaurant Chez Serge. Good breakfast.

Review 34:The staff is really friendly and helpful. The lady at the desk helped us to plan our trip to Mont Ventoux. The interior of the hotel is lovely in its a bit vintage way. It has a nice garden.

Review 35:It was difficult to have heavy luggage and walk up the stairs to go to the some rooms. There is no elevator The hotel is very original and nice but needs to be refreshed.

Review 36:The lady who runs the hotel is very very friendly and helpful. Very nice welcome! The location is excellent as it's really next to the market on Friday. Easy to find. I like the originality of the hotel with a different style for each room. Excellent service!!

Review 37:The hotel was very expensive for the room. The room was very large, however the decor is dated and needs an update. The wifi was nonexistent (weak signal) only one person could be logged on. The staff recommendations for dinner were very very expensive. We actually left Carpentras for another town to eat. We did not feel particularly safe in Carpentras.

Review 38:The room was large, staff were pleasant. Location provided good proximity to Mont Ventoux.

Review 39:There were NO air conditioning so it was unbearable during summer night. I wanted to check-out after one night due to lack of air conditioning (orginially reserved fr 3 nights) and was charged 60 euros to recoup the booking fee Hotel du Fiacre paid to Booking.com for 3 nights!

Review 40:The front desk reception was nice enough to open the door after I arrived 30 minutes late to the hotel to check-in. The courtyard & furnishing is charming and the top floor room has lots of outside facing doors.

Review 41:Maybe having a kettle in your room would be good, to make a cup of tea.

Review 42:I liked its location, a quiet street. The staff were delightful and very helpful. My room looked out on to a beautiful big tree and garden. It was airy and light. It was a wonderful place to come home to at the end of the day.

Review 43:This is a charming and traditional hotel. As a family we have been occasional guests for over 25 years. The reception hall and breakfast room oozes culture and tradition and the proprietor is extremely helpful and of happy disposition.

Review 44:The hotel and rooms are rather faded (but at the price to be expected). The room had no windows to open to air out the room which was slightly dank. The bathroom shower could have done with a good scrub with bleach. Nothing had been updated in decades

Review 45:Very friendly staff and good central location.

Review 46:Improve the speed and signal of the WIFI. Maybe bleach on the mold in the shower. Reserved parking space.

Review 47:Maryjean was very helpful and welcoming. The rest of those I met were the same. The location is good in many ways. The city is interesting and there are many things to see. The food and wine of the region are hard to beat and the quaint villages are something from a storybook! I'd love to go back to share with someone special!

Review 48:The hotel is very very old and not well maintened, the city ofCarpentrans is one of the worsest I have visited in Provence. I willnever be back and I will never suggest this hotel

Review 49:The staff speaks Italian and is very welcoming

Review 50:We did not really mind being on the highest floor, but can image thatelderly people cannot take all these stairs. There are also rooms on theground floor opening to the patio. So if you fear a lot of stairs domention that you would like a room downstairs.

Review 51:We enjoyed our stay at Le Fiacre. We had a room on the second floor(which was high to carry up all luggage, since it are high floors of amansion and no elevator). The room was comfortable, nicely decoratedwith antique furniture that suited the building. No airco!! Would notrecommend the hotel to families with children, as the hotel is moreoriented to singles or older couples. The owners are very concerned withtheir hotel,by which the approach is personal and very friendly, butalso a little strict. We got the impression that they would notappreciate children running though the corridors :-). But we were therefor a weekend without children and liked our stay. In summer breakfastis served in the patio after 9 am. Breakfast was ok. It were all qualityproducts: real decent French coffee, a real croissant and tasty bread, but typically french: only 2 small jars of jams and a yogurt on request.I would describe the hotel as Classic, with a touch of romance. Personalapproach, more Chambre d'hôtes feel.

Review 52:Parking can be a problem. Depending on the time of day, the parkingplaces can be full. The lack of a mini-bar and a coffee maker in theroom could be a problem for some people. It wasn't for us.

Review 53:The family that runs the hotel are wonderful. Helpful, friendly, competent and knowledgeable about the area. The hotel is old, but clean. The breakfast was good and ample. We enjoyed our week there and canhighly recommend the place to anyone who suffers from animal-hairallergies. No animals allowed, which is a big plus for allergysufferers. Our room was big, pleasant and cool, even in 35 (95)degreeheat. When we go back to Carpentras we will stay there again.

Review 54:Parking can be a hassle, the large nearby public car park is also usedas a market place and Sunday market and on those days is not available.

Review 55:Interesting place to stay with the charm and individuality of a familyhome and the owners / staff are helpful and knowledgable about the town, etc. Quiet and comfortable, but very close to the centre of Carpentrasand there are several good restaurants within easy walking distance.

Review 56:A convenient, friendly, aesthetically cheerful oasis, it made us smile every time we entered the front door. The grand breakfast (muesli included) set us up for the day, and the garage gave the hired bike a safe home. Highly recommended.

Review 57:Location is good for exploring the town of Carpentras at night. Parking is 50 meter up the street in big car park free, except on Friday when the big market take over. But just move the car on a few 100 meters. Rooms were clean and one staff member speak a bit of English. Will probably stay here again

Review 58:This hotel is definitely charming.. It is tucked away on a one way side street and a little hard to find.. The charm begins when you walk through the front door - it is very old world.. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were small but nicely decorated and very clean.

Review 59:The hotel offers unique character in that is very different from any chain, being independently operated. The atmosphere created by a historic building in the center of an ancient city, the warm welcome by competent staff, and the charm of private balconies overlooking a central courtyard full of trees and flowers make for a pretty, restful stay. Breakfast was always plentiful and varied. There is a garage for those coming by car. Highly recommended!

Review 60:The hotel is a little tricky to get at as it is on a very narrow street but very centrally located and once you have found it you won't want to leave. We have no complaints at all.

Review 61:We have only good things to say about our stay. The proprietrix was from a bye-gone era ie before people became numbers. From the moment we arrived we were treated with the utmost graciousness. Marie-Jean (excuse us if we have spelt her name wrong) was the consummate hostess. Nothing was too much bother for her. Personal service taken to a new level or maybe taken back to where it used to be. We can't rank our stay highly enough. Very highly recommend. The hotel itself is a wonderful old hotel with heaps of character.

Review 62:Beautiful courtyard, charming hotel, nothin plastic or run of the mill.

Review 63:The hostess was amazing just like last year, you can tell she really enjoys meeting and greeting!

Review 64:Nil.

Review 65:Good breakfast, excellent location.

Review 66:Parking for 3 cars only. Not available most of the time

Review 67:Friendly and helpful staff. Nice hotel. Good breakfast. We'd go back there and would recommend it to others.

Review 68:very friendly, luxurious hotel in a fantastic location. very romantic setting.

Review 69:The fittings in the bathroom could be updated and given a deep clean!

Review 70:The decor of the hotel was lovely and our room was comfortable.

Review 71:Difficult to find restauranr for evening meal within a close walk - not much choice.

Review 72:Warm welcome in a nice hotel. Great breakfast.

Review 73:The peace and quiet was wonderful. The staff were so friendly and welcoming

Review 74:The room was a litle bit dark, because there was no window.

Review 75:The staff was very helpful and kind.

Review 76:Nothing

Review 77:Fantastic hotel, full of original architecture & features......just beautiful ! Very friendly & helpful hostess as well.

Review 78:Very good value for money. Pleasant hotel, central location, friendly and helpful staff.

Review 79:Perfecto! Bonito, cuidado, amabilidad del personal y excelente relación calidad-precio

Review 80:No elevator. Not a good area of town.

Review 81:Friendly staff.
