Reviews for Hotel Italia
Review 1:Had difficulty finding it as there are two roads with the same name but spelled slightly differently. Caused difficulties with the Satnav!
Review 2:Very friendly owners who spoke good english.
Review 3:Disappointing outside appearance of hotel and somewhat dowdy inside too.
Review 4:Quiet location. Easy to get into Tours by tram. This town is a 'must' to visit. Friendly hosts.

The owner told us of places to visit. and when in Tours. Try the trams. brilliant way to get around. Loved our time there. would certainly return. Cannot thank them enough.
Review 7:Room at ground Floor Breakfast to be booked the day before, not very "rich" Not in a "beautiful" zone if you want to walk at night Need a car if you want to reach downtown
Review 8:Honest and good rest few nights Good price for the location/period (August)
Review 9:There is nothing to dislike whatsoever.
Review 10:Friendly welcome, quiet location and easy parking. One minute walk to the local excellent pizzarea. Sat nav found the hotel with ease.
Review 11:The hotel is not in the centre which means it has free parking and is in a very quiet street. Also, there is a good Italian restaurant just 60m down the road from the hotel. The showers are brilliant!
Review 12:Sat nav could not find the hotel. Without two nice and helpful local ladies we would have struggled.
Review 13:Made us walk to the old town where we found excellent food.
Review 14:The lady helped us book horse riding, she printed out my emails for me, explained all the local attractions, would definitely stay there again, nice bathroom, comfy bed
Review 15:No negatives.
Review 16:Although we were very late arriving and reception was closed, one phone all and arrangements easily made to access the hotel and our room.lovely clean room, fantastic shower.
Review 17:I can't think of anything I didn't like.
Review 18:It was clean and comfortable. The proprietors were really nice people. I recommend this quiet little motel.
Review 19:Hard to find down one way streets and not clear on GPS system in Peugot
Review 20:Comfortable modern room. Good parking Wifi - initial problems but OK once connected
Review 21:No tea and coffee facilities in the room, window wouldn't open
Review 22:Free car park, easy access to tram, good pizzeria nearby, staff knowledgeable about the area and provided maps, nice shower
Review 23:No air conditioner and it was very moist inside.
Review 24:It's a basic hotel, but they kinda tried to decorate it. Spacious bathroom. Nice bed and linens. Value for money.
Review 25:Doesn't look great, but does job. Looks very much like a 2 star. Out of town location, but you get free parking, and easy to drive in. Good tip is to park on the north side of the bridge and walk across. 8 euros for a basic breakfast, even for small children. We found an amazing bakery up to road though.
Review 26:Parking Not too far into Tours, which is well worth a visit Really helpful girl on reception Good shower and clean room Wi-fi Low price
Review 27:Breakfast not really good value for money- Bad coffee, industrial baguette and croissants... a bit of a shame for English travellers wanting to taste French specialities.
Review 28:Nice and clean, helpful and friendly staff, good email contact.
Review 29:It was quite difficult to log on to the wifi and perhaps a little manual or simplifying it would be better. Nonetheless, as soon as I was connected, the signal and speed was good!
Review 30:For a middle/low budget hotel, we got a way nicer room than we could have hoped for: - location is good and pretty central - beds were super comfortable - shower had hot water - both breakfast and reception was done by a very pleasant woman with a smile on her face (as opposed to some other places)
Review 31:Difficult to find as satnav goes to wrong address on southern half of Rue de Vilde which continues North across Av de Republique, which I didn't appreciate initially. Better to approach from the North via Av Andre Maginot.
Review 32:Very nice room and bathroom with modern furnishings and fittings. Helpful staff with good English. Good breakfast. Was too tired to take tram into town, but had very acceptable evening meal at nearby old style Italian restaurant.
Review 33:Parking space was a bit limited in front of the hotel, but parking a bit further in the street is no problem and free of charge. The breakfast was very basic and relatively expensive compared to the quality. Still a hotel I could recommend and will come back to for next one night stopover in Tours.
Review 34:Sizeable three person bedroom (especially compared to most French hotelrooms which tend to be very small). The personal was friendly and accurate, the location is a bit remote from the centre of Tours, but very quite at night. Tours at night can be lively, so one of my first attention points. As I say remote, there seems to be a very new and good tram connection into the city but I didn't try this out.
Review 35:bathroom
Review 36:Close to the old part of town, easy to get to by either tram or car.
Review 37:None
Review 38:Comfortable, friendly, efficient, helpful, homely, pleasant surroundings and decor

Review 43:Design of the hotel, the room was big and clean, modern bathroom, free parking, location, good value for money.
Review 44:Very friendly and helpful member of staff despite being 8 months pregnant! Outward appearance was nothing special, but interior was clean and modern.

Review 46:Lack of inside or outside room to relax.
Review 47:With fi, room comfort
Review 48:Spacious room & bathroom. Very clean, great breakfast & helpful friendly staff.

Review 50:No frills, just good value for a family of 5
Review 51:Not the easiest to find - but worth looking for!
Review 52:Friendly staff. Good parking. On the tramline into Tours.
Review 53:Nothing
Review 54:Out of the way, wonderful place to spend the night.
Review 55:Very friendly and responsive administrator.
Review 56:Lights not kept on in passageways. Common areas poorly decorated. Toilet ran water all night. Front of hotel need painting. Shower did not work, and was cold.
Review 57:Staff good. Room generally good and well decorated. Beds comfy.
Review 58:We weren't there long enough as we had a very early start so only used it for sleeping accommodation didn't even have time for breakfast. Hotel very hard to find
Review 59:The shower, the garden
Review 60:No lift was a bit of a pain with a lot of luggage but not a deal breaker
Review 61:Very friendly welcome at the front desk, lots of local information andadvice given with a very handy little map of the town. Room was veryclean, neat and tidy and perfect for an overnight stay. Modern decorand super shower! With fast free WiFi ..Will definitely be stayingagain in future!

Review 64:The room was very clean and had a comfortable bed and a very nice bathroom. Location was excellent as you can catch the tram 3 stops and you're in the centre of Tours.
Review 65:Nothing really. The outside was a bit deceiving but we only saw it in the dark. We liked it!
Review 66:Lovely warm welcome. Room was fab and well decorated and furnished. Excellent for the price. The breakfast was great for the money. Simple but plenty of it. Owner was so welcoming to our toddler too.
Review 67:We only stayed here for 1 night because we were travelling. The hotel is small and inside a residential area but being in a quiet area and able to park your car in front of the door was nice. The city centre is a 20 minute walk.
Review 68:I loved the fact that the hotel had a B&B feel because the owners live there, work the front desk, and serve the breakfast. The room was very comfortable and clean. The owner spoke excellent English and was very helpful.
Review 69:Good value for money, really clean room - we stayed in a triple room and ordered an additional cot for our family of two adults and two children (aged 7 and 20 months) - very polite and helpful staff, only a short drive into Tours
Review 70:Ideal for stopover from Calais lovely clean hotel, dog friendly. Staff very helpful and informative. Excellent Italian restaurant a few mins away.
Review 71:Owner bent over backwards to help me out when I wanted to cancel my last nights stay, even though she lost one nights revenue and was not obligated to do so. Cannot fault.
Review 72:No Aircon this is a must in July/ August time or at least a celing fan or something. We had to leave our ground room window open which is not good for security.
Review 73:The hotel room was well appointed and had nice decor.Lovely bathroom with great shower. Friendly Staff happy smiley.
Review 74:Soundproofing
Review 75:Able to leave bikes in a secure location. The owner is very friendly and has good recommendations and will help out with planning of your trip
Review 76:Location - it's fine if you're happy to drive into the city centre but if you want to walk you are faced with a lengthy and not very appealing walk back up hill.
Review 77:Friendly welcome and advice, attractive room, good breakfast.
Review 78:The location of the hotel is a bit tricky to find.
Review 79:Eventhough the exterior of the hotel doesn't look as nice, the rooms are very clean, nicely decorated with all updated amenities. The room is big and bathroom is spacious. The rate for this hotel is also very budget-friendly. Overall, we really enjoy our stay at hotel Italia. We will definately stay here again if we are in the area.
Review 80:The location makes it hard to get into town if there are special events going on in the Old Town Center part of town. And there are no restaurants near by that you can walk to, so you have to drive into town.
Review 81:Very clean, rooms well decorated, nice size bathroom. The staff is very nice and extremely helpful. The breakfast was delicious and very reasonable.
Review 82:Location is not convenient to touring the city. The lobby is a dump and rooms are dark and dingy. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
Review 83:No facilities in room for having tea/ coffee etc. No net curtains on windows. Couldn't leave curtains open without very close neighbours or other guests seeing everything. Room decoration was quite dark. Would've been nice to be able to let sunlight in the room.
Review 84:Comfy beds. Big bathroom. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. Close to city centre.
Review 85:No restaurants nearby and too far to walk to town enter, but only a short drive. A little difficult to find.

Review 91:Very difficult to find because not recognised on our satnav. Hotel couldimprove directions.
Review 92:Made very welcome by very helpful lady at reception. Value for moneyhotel with good pizza restaurent very nearby.
Review 93:The only thing that I did not like was don't have lift, my parents areold and we had a few big bags to up until the 3rd floor.
Review 94:The owner (the receptionist) was amazing. She is so attention, gave uslots of tips.
Review 95:We have stayed at many hotels on our current tour. None were so inviting and hospitable as Hotel Italia. We will always remember the help and attention we received from our most generous host Natasha. If you are interested in learning about the exquisite medieval city of Tours then this is an excellent location. As we are cyclists we are also grateful for the accommodation provided for our bikes which we used extensively to explore the city and the Loire Valley. Sincerely Thomas Hardy and Kelly Edgar
Review 96:Lovely manageress who was really pleasant and friendly. I stayed in two rooms, both were fine. the breakfast was good. A short walk over the pedestrian bridge into Tours and 1 minute on foot to the local pizzeria which was reasonable food at good value.
Review 97:Great staff and a great dog friendly hotel. Very quiet near to towncenter, but lots of road repairs going on , which without gps we wouldnever have found it. Once the road repairs are done it will be easy tofind and very easy to get to freeways and the airport. Great place andthey speak English and are able to understand Americans. Wouldrecommend it to all
Review 98:Hotel is quite hard to find and you need a Sat Nav or good map and navigator. My Sat Nav broke and hotle staff had to guide me on the phone. They were very helpful and friendly and even came out in their car to fetch me when I was lost just around the corner.
Review 99:What a great hotel, really enjoyed my stay, its in a residential areabut don't let that put you off a nice 15 walk through some of the olderneighbourhoods and past the commonwealth cemetery leads you to apedestrian bridge and directly to the Cathedral. I'll defiantly be backfor another stay. Merci Hotel Italia!
