Reviews for Chambres Du Domaine Le Bouïs

Review 1:Be warned - narrow staircases so smaller pieces of luggage are best.

Review 2:The view from the terrace was amazing - vineyards and mountains on one side, and the Mediterranean sea on the other!

Review 3:Pillows were awful (very lumpy). This is not a fancy, high service location which were totally fine with.

Review 4:Gorgeous location overlooking Gruissan set in the middle of an active vineyard. Charming, agrotourism location with a lovely pool.

Review 5:In the first room we had, the en suite bathroom had a bit of a 'drain' issue - however as soon as we raised this we were changed to a different room right away.

Review 6:Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Lovely swimming pool. Relaxed atmosphere and the main house was beautiful.

Review 7:We didn't stay in the main building we stayed across the drive in a three room unit/conversion. Polystyrene tiles on the ceiling, a macerator that stank, light fittings that were help up by their wiring with the ceiling rose dangling off. One working bulb in the 5 bulb centre light fitting in the what was or could be the kitchen. The oven had been removed or never installed not a stick of cutlery or crockery, ok it wasn't self catering it was B&B. The bed and bed linen were cheap and polyester. No air-con, it says there is on the web site, No Mosquito protection we had to ask for repellers and buy some. Airless rooms with a front door that wouldn't lock. The breakfast was minimal unexciting and very dull. The restaurant staff were ok, except the maitre di, she was patronising ,cold rude and flustered by the idea of accommodating two more dinners at 7pm, who had just driven 1000 miles to get there. The food was OK we would have dined there again but couldn't bring ourselves to be patronised anymore. The bar area was scruffy, it's separate business, the staff were unfriendly and disinterested. Not worth the £874 we paid if was 'very shabby and not a bit chic'! Check you are staying in the Chateau!

Review 8:Great location, great vineyard and views and a lovely pool. Good wine tour and information.

Review 9:The reception when we arrived was not very welcoming. It would have been nice to know about the vineyard and be told that the B&B is run separately from the restaurant and bar next door. We were unaware that they weren't the same concern. The style of bar didn't really match the quality of the room.

Review 10:The room was beautiful and very stylish. Breakfast on the garden terrace was a delight. It's a very quiet location in the countryside- not easy to find but thanks to the signs we made it!

Review 11:Difficult to book restaurant even though we were staying on site! toilet smelt for several days when the weather was hot. No air conditioning in our room. Not Tea and Coffee making facilitates even though it still says there are on the website. (Although there is effectively a small working kitchen there were no utensils.

Review 12:Lovely location. Quiet most of the time. Not far from the sea and the town. Nice swimming pool and good (if e little expensive) restaurant.

Review 13:Staff in restaurant not very friendly. Room not cleaned the first night of our stay as we apparently had the only key to the room!

Review 14:Beautiful and tranquil location, lovely room overlooking terrace. Wonderful to wake up to the smell of freshly baking croissants. Restaurant (with distant view of the sea)and wine very good! Swimming pool very nice.

Review 15:Fantastic chateaux , beautiful surroundings, calm and relaxing. Lovely pool , laid back place and vibe. Funky bar and great restaurant with atmosphere and views. Easy to find if you use road map and follow route blue from narbonne plage. Cold fresh rose wine 5 euros a bottle!

Review 16:We spent five days. We tried the restaurant and the bar. They were very good. The breakfast was great. The staff were very helpful even though we spoke little to no French.

Review 17:So says the new wife. Good spot to venture from with Pont du Gard and Carcissone so close. The restaurant is amazing as well. You'll be very happy you stayed here if you are looking for that old world flavor in your vacation.

Review 18:The location was difficult to find. Although we arrived at the stated time we could find no one to check us in and had to walk around looking for someone to help. Instead of being given a room in the chateau we were in a room across the yard which had definitely seen better days. The light fitting in the toilet was broken, the step into the (old) shower was chipped and cracked. The small kitchen area had a worktop covered in old plaster bits and cobwebs in the corners. The room was next to the entrance to a restaurant on the site which was noisy when people left in the evening. The lady that served our breakfast made very little effort to make us feel welcome.

Review 19:The two rooms of the chateau that we actually went into.

Review 20:No tea and coffee making facilities in room.

Review 21:Wonderful country location with no noise or disturbances. Room dressed in typical French country style. Very good WiFi coverage. Unexpected lovely breakfast included in price. Could buy wine and honey made there.

Review 22:- difficult to find

Review 23:- staff - food - view from room - decoration - hiking through vineyards on site - location has everything - hills, vineyards, and beach is close. Will def

Review 24:Very beautiful and peaceful place to stay while visiting the area rich of castles, beautiful landscape and interesting wineyards. Very good hospitality.

Review 25:Nothing really but not a budget hotel.

Review 26:This is a very unusual place to stay including as it does a vineyard, wine tasting cellar, restaurant, accomodation, museum and chateau. Food and service was good. Location reasonably easy to find and great views. Accomodation was clean and comfortable. Not far from the motorway for a stop over stay. Parking was plentiful and secure.

Review 27:Room felt like the 1970s Difficult to find hotspots for wi-fi

Review 28:Location amidst vineyards Restaurant run separately Charming manageress Easy acces to sea and Cathar country

Review 29:- administration has problems to manage the place (our luggage was moved out of our room during our absence as management missed to notice that we had booked one mor night. We don't like our belongings to be touched) - rooms have no maintenance during the stay - menue card has small but good choice, so for a stay of móre tha 3 nights you might have to start a gain with the dishes you already had

Review 30:- Very good location in a wineyard - romantic place - good food at the rerstaurant

Review 31:Had a lovely one night stay at this AMAZING place. It really was a worth coming here. It has a feel of a wedding kind of place. Not much to do for kids apart from the pool but one or two night stay is ideal to chill or if passing from east to west of France as we did.

Review 32:showers & toilets didn't function as well as we would have liked.

Review 33:warm welcome. excellent restaurant. very old restored building with great deal of charm.

Review 34:A truly unique and beautiful place to stay.

Review 35:Flies mosquitos

Review 36:Restaurant

Review 37:Beautiful and peaceful, spectacularly good restaurant

Review 38:The room, the service, facilities and all the mold and mildew in the shower area.

Review 39:Location

Review 40:No service Difficult to reach the way to go

Review 41:The old atmosfere of the property The location in the various nature Restaurant

Review 42:Restaurant not open except for summer, although there were some good restaurants a short drive away at the marina.

Review 43:Beautiful old vineyard lovely setting and area to walk round. Breakfast on terrace. Big comfortable bed.

Review 44:The lack of choice at breakfast was to say the least was very poor, perhaps it was because this was the start of the season, but come on we are paying for this..... Not good, suggest the owners look at this area very seriously.

Review 45:The ambiance was very appealing, and location whilst very tranquil needed transport to explore the area's of Narbonne.

Review 46:Wi-Fi unacceptable asadvertised with! Should have been charged an out ofseason rate . Dont like being told there is only one roomleft when wewere the only ones staying

Review 47:The setting.

Review 48:For the price I would expect some nice toiletries in the room, but there was nothing at all - not even any soap!

Review 49:The Chateau was really gorgeous and designed beautifully with a real eye to detail. They give great winetastings too.

Review 50:Very poor bathroom products ( two small sachets one of shower jell & one of shampoo ) Just not good enough or enough ! A very poor breakfast choice in fact no choice !!

Review 51:The two members of staff we met were great . The setting was lovely.

Review 52:Nothing.

Review 53:Absolutely beautiful and tranquil setting. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Food excellent, and the wines are wonderful. Truly a gem, not to be missed!

Review 54:Firstly the rooms are over priced at 160 euro's per night B&B, we initially booked the previous week but had to change our booking to the following week, and the daily rate increased from 120 to 160 euro's. 120 euro's would have been about right. After the first day we returned to find our room hadn't been cleaned or bed made, I spoke to the manager who told me "this is not a hotel, we only change the towels and take the garbage out!". The next day however the room was cleaned and bed remade. We did not use the restaurant but had a drink at the bar, a small bottle of beer at 4 euro's was a "tad" expensive!

Review 55:The Chateau is set in a beautiful vineyard and is full of character. Rooms are spacious with good shower etc all recently updated and pleasantly decorated. The pool is very good but as it is a working vineyard there is noise from the adjacent working area (screened from view). Sunbeds provided but no towels. Breakfast on the terrace was very good, quality croissants and good selection of jams. Also bread provided but no cheese or meats. Fresh fruit, tea and coffee available too. Staff were friendly and helpful, though only the manager and restaurant staff speak English. Although there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room the manager opened the kitchen and told us we could use it as we wished, she let us use the fridge and freezer which was a great help too. Access to Gruissan is easy and only a short drive, the marina is lovely and plenty of choice for restaurants and bars. At the Chateau you can also take a walk amongst the vineyards and do wine and honey tasting. Overall a very pleasant stay, staff and location lovely, plenty of character but a little overpriced for a B&B.

Review 56:We did not get any information about check out time or when breakfast were served. We had to leave early the next morning, about 8 am, so we got no breakfast and we did not find any staff either. There where no water in the bathroom in the morning, so we had to leave without a shower and without a toothbrush. Lovely! We complained, but no discount is given so we have been charged 100%!! I can hardly believe it.

Review 57:Nice landscape.

Review 58:Maybe little bit overpriced compared to other places

Review 59:Nice place, good rooms.

Review 60:Everyone was so friendly and helpful for anything we needed. The breakfast and dinners were wonderful. The wine was great. We will go back.

Review 61:loved the place, beautifully decorated, old world charm

Review 62:too many decorations

Review 63:Genevieve was a wonderful hostess, the setting was gorgeous and the breakfast good and plenty
