Reviews for Hôtel de Paris

Review 1:The location was excellent right in town close to everything, perfect if you are here for the d-day beaches. The owners were just great could not do enough for us we arrived at the hotel a little late in the afternoon and wanted something to eat and they put together a beautiful cheese plate for us it was wonderful The room was very nice window opened up onto the marine,i just love the double windows very clean and quiet,if we are back here this is defiantly the hotel we will be staying in,loved it

Review 2:The restaurant was really nicely done and we had an excellent. It is also in a lively bustling part of town. It is also a good spot if you are catching the ferry from Caen.

Review 3:Wi-fi was not working during stay, and not hotels fault but street got very noisy around 1am, made worse by it being a very hot stuffy night and leaving window open for some air.

Review 4:Location, friendly staff.

Review 5:Difficult stairs and no offer of help with luggage.Poor breakfast for money. Limited parking. Owner unfriendly.

Review 6:The hotel is close to the beach and has good restaurant.

Review 7:Lack of a shower curtain meant a very wet floor in the bathroom

Review 8:The food was delicious and all staff very pleasant and helpful. There is plenty of free parking adjacent to the hotel. Enjoyable strolls around the marina and along the seafront made this a very relaxing stay

Review 9:Breakfast could have been improved. We were not expecting a cooked breakfast, but for a place with such a good restaurant, the selection of meat and cheese was very ordinary. Packet cheese and processed ham!!!

Review 10:Great location for exploring the area. Friendly helpful staff and great restaurant.

Review 11:Only downside was the tiny bedroom and bathroom; but that is normal in older hotels in rural France.

Review 12:Excellent location right on Juno Beach. Friendly and welcoming owners and staff. Very good value and high quality restaurant, which served very fresh seafood.

Review 13:Our room was along the street side so a bit noisy but not too bad at this time of year. Wifi did not work in the room.

Review 14:Friendly greeting upon arrival. Room and bathroom were comfortable and spacious enough. The dining room was lovely and our meal was excellent...helpful waiter as well. Good breakfast in lovely room with lots of windows. Hotel was easy to find and is in a perfect location.

Review 15:Wi-fi inreliable. Smell from the beach.

Review 16:Location. All D-day places within reach and close to beach. Nice kitchen and good breakfast. Friendly personnel. Highly recommendable.

Review 17:No complaints, really, except the WiFi was a bit wonky

Review 18:Located a stones throw from Juno Beach. Beautiful village and a great spot from which to explore the Normandy coast.

Review 19:Wasn't lear that there was no lift. We were put on the 2nd floor and we had a lot of heavy luggage as we were travelling for two weeks. If we were a little older it would have been impossible to get our bags to the room.

Review 20:Hotel is on the water. Rooms were quaint. Dinner and breakfast meals were excellent. Staff friendly.

Review 21:Hotel de Paris is a splendid hotel that is very well run. Everything works and the place was really clean and comfortable, during our brief one night stay we were impressed by the hotel and by the restaurant and felt that the meals were delightful. The oysters were the best that I have eaten for many years and the breakfast was fine with a variety of bits including boiled eggs and ham on offer. The staff were very helpful and obviously took pride in doing their jobs well. Good garage for our touring cycles and easy access to good wifi. We will be back, many thanks.

Review 22:Trucking bags to the second floor is a bit of a pain.

Review 23:Great location for Normandy sites; fabulous breakfast in a very pleasant setting. The bar serves very fresh beer as well!

Review 24:The stairs.

Review 25:The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean.

Review 26:Perfect location for visiting Juno Beach Centre. Wonderful market on the Friday morning! Courseulles-sur-Mer has a lot of character.

Review 27:The restaurant is not very good and is a bit overpriced

Review 28:Nice Location and people are very friendly

Review 29:Room was shabby. Wifi tricky.

Review 30:Location.

Review 31:The stay was too short.

Review 32:The restaurant is excellent. It can rival any in Paris and better than most.

Review 33:This was a sweet hotel, the staff were wonderful and the location was perfect! the Bathroom needed a little work but overall we were very pleased

Review 34:Great welcome! Free upgrade to a bigger room since it was available. So close to everything! Very good restaurant.

Review 35:Hours of restaurant - later hours would be very helpful. Although this seems to be a trait of nearly all restaurants in the town. Food at the restaurant was very good however.

Review 36:Fabulous location, very convenient to key sights within the town, comfortable, clean, good service, good food, and very informative staff. Very good value.

Review 37:The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. We felt very comfortable there. If I ever go back to Normandy, I will make a point of staying there. Great breakfast.

Review 38:The stairs. We were on the 3rd floor which meant climbing a lot of stairs. The lady at the front desk found a nice young man to carry up my suitcase which was Customer Service at it's best.

Review 39:Very nice people that work at this hotel.

Review 40:One has to register wlan when 3 hours are out. Quite inconvenient.

Review 41:Room with sea view and a nice restaurant in the hotel. The reception lady was very kind and friendly to help us.

Review 42:The staff were incredible. My husband was under the weather during our second night, which happened to be a Sunday. No pharmacies were open, but the receptionist went out of her way to help us find medicine and foods that he could eat. As a result, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Hotel de Paris to other travellers.

Review 43:No negative comments!

Review 44:Quiet, clean, comfortable...close to Canadian Juno Beach centre. Across the road from the beach. Outstanding restaurant...food was excellent.

Review 45:Great location. At Juno Beach. 100 metres to the Canadian Juno beach centre. Close to all DDay sites. Pegasus bridge 15 minute drive away. Restaurant food fantastic. 5 star gourmet. Don't miss the creme brulee calvados. Owners very friendlty and helpful. Wonderful hotel

Review 46:It was a bit noisy at times due to being on the main street of town and also because of limited insulation between rooms. It just depends on who takes the room next to you/above you as to whether it's noisy or not.

Review 47:The hotel location was fantastic - we had an oceanfront view and could walk anywhere in the little town of Courseulles-sur-Mer.

Review 48:Not being terribly fluent in French it was a bit tough communicating, but they were very understanding and it all worked out.

Review 49:Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was excellent.

Review 50:We did not know there was no elevator. If you have trouble with stairs you need to requested a floor on the lower level during booking.

Review 51:Great location, right on the beach near Juno Beach Centre. Good food. Room was clean and well looked after.

Review 52:The walls between rooms aren't as sound proofed as I would have liked, but we didn't really have an issue.

Review 53:Great location for anyone looking to explore some of the D-Day related sites, especially the Canadian and British beeches. The staff where extremely accommodating, and helpful. If I am ever able to return I would be considering this hotel.

Review 54:Breakfast very poor for the cost, coffee luke warm, one croissant eachno meat just two slices of cheese for three of us two slices of breadbetter breakfast up the road for half the price, the bath was verysmall,no light outside our door so quite dark(we were at the end).roomvery basic but ok for an overnight stop but room would be too small fora weeks stay luckerly we were only staying one night,

Review 55:Staff friendly and bed comfy, good location for beach and cafes and freeparking outside

Review 56:Every item in the room is very dated and should be refreshed. Old and tired describes the entire hotel and not in a quaint charming way.
