Reviews for Peonia at home

Review 1:The position of the hotel is far 15 min walking from the city center and there is not too much park lots.

Review 2:The architecture of the hotel is wonderful and well-finished! Owners are very nice! Breakfast is home made and everything is very special!

Review 3:The bedroom did not have an ensuite bathroom and the bed was a little small.

Review 4:The house was fantastic and very interesting being the former residence of the Dreyfus family

Review 5:Room was very small! Everything else was perfect.

Review 6:Very friendly and helpful owners. Short walk into town. Good advice on where to eat. Lovely forest nearby with wonderful walks. Very unusual and imaginative layout of the bedroom, including disco lights! And the house also has an interesting history.

Review 7:Fantastic home from home place to stay. The interior design of this beautiful property is excellent, mixing modern and traditional, brilliant Tony. We will definitely stay at Peonia at Home again when in the area. Brilliant!

Review 8:The whole experience was outstanding, hosts very cooperative, welcoming and friendly. Breakfasts were scrumptious making it a very comfortable visit. Couldn't recommend it highly enough!

Review 9:We stayed two nights at this loveley manor house. Peonia at Home is both beautifully and tastefully decorated. Andrea and Tony's passion for architecture and arts is clearly visible and gives the complete property a very unique and personal touch. The hosts were both very charming and helpful and their breakfast is terrific. Fresh gugelhupf, brioche and very tasty jam - everything homemade (even the eggs for the gugelhupf came from their own chicken)!

Review 10:none

Review 11:The hosts were wonderful and made our stay so enjoyable. Lovely accommodation, good breakfast and all within walking distance of the historic town and restaurants.

Review 12:Although the bathroom was very modern, the shower button was hard to twist (to turn on the water) Nothing else to say, lovely home!

Review 13:Very nice and helpful people Rich Breakfast Very nice and lovely home

Review 14:The family room is not ensuite. Also, payment was taken on credit card a week before we got there when it was clearly stated we pay when we stay

Review 15:Breakfast delicious! Hosts very pleasant

Review 16:This is a delightful house, situated a short walk from the centre of town. The owners are charming, helpful people who make you feel very welcome. Our bedrooms were beautifully furnished with antiques and our bathroom was both stylish and well equipped. Breakfast was very enjoyable with freshly squeezed orange juice; freshly made fruit salad and the most delicious range of preserves made by the owners. Highly recommended

Review 17:It is a very lovely B&B hotel which we accommodated in the last night of our trip to Alsace. The most outstanding thing is the breakfast: very unique and most is self-made by the owner. We will surely go back!

Review 18:The room was hot overnight due to the warm weather.

Review 19:A beautiful house, with perfect hosts, who prepared a lovely homemade breakfast, close to the centre of Mulhouse.

Review 20:The style.and finish of the house was excellent, the evening meal and breakfast exceptional, one of the best bnb I have ever been to and I thought good value for money

Review 21:Bedroom very small and cramped, it also had a strange smell! We were not given a key to come and go and had to ring the door bell every time we returned.

Review 22:Location was good within walking distance to station and town. The property was lovely and tastefully decorated.

Review 23:The fact that we did not have a en-suite bathroom. We had to go to the bathroom next door and our room could not lock. We also did not have our own key for the front door so we could not stay out too late.

Review 24:We love the owners, the house and decor.

Review 25:2 problems-No Air conditioning and bumped head on low ceiling next to bed. Wish we were on ground floor instead of need to climb the steps.

Review 26:Pleasant, helpful staff and very good family style breakfast.

Review 27:Antonio and Andrea are consummate hosts. Their renovated villa just a few blocks from downtown Mulhouse is stunning, and the welcome they extended could not have been warmer. The breakfast was the best I've ever had anywhere. Fantastic experience!

Review 28:Notering to complain about or to suggest, keep it as it is!

Review 29:Extremly friendly hosts, made us fell at home from the first to the last minuters. Beatiful house, selected interiors and home made breakfast . Dinner in the evening good and very much apreiciated as we arrives in poring rain and did not want go looking for a restaurant. We will be back!

Review 30:Nothing

Review 31:We stayed 1 night at Peonia at Home to visit Mulhouse. We really enjoyed our stay there ! The house is beautiful and very well decorated. The breakfast was home made and delicious. A great experience that I recommend!

Review 32:Owners make you feel as if you were part of their family. So chic and luxurious. The owners are architects and their villa reflects this. Truly it should be in the Architectural Digest magazine! The breakfast table is a dream to look at and I had never tasted so many homemade jams. Private parking and rooms that make you dream. We stayed four days and everything seemed better each day. A fairy tale,Thank you Jocelyne and Lise from Canada

Review 33:Breakfast could have been reacher - we missed something hot like porridge, pancakes, or omelette The hotel is really small, not a lot of people - but when someone walks in the corridor you hear it from the room

Review 34:Stylish house with a character. Cosy rooms and ultra-modern bathroom Very nice hosts and interesting people, Andrea and Tony. Always willing to help - thank you! Free parking in the yard (when entering park in the street and wait 1-2 minutes to open the gate) Delicious home made products at breakfast (jams, cake) Quality wifi

Review 35:We have been welcomed by the warmest way.exceptional people, famous cook and great artist. The villa is really beautiful, well equiped and the breakfast is amasing. We can only recommend Peonia.

Review 36:Very friendly welcome and clean comfortable bed and bathroom. Breakfast was super with home made breads and jams. Nothing too much trouble for the owners. Good secure parking an ideal spot to explore all the museums in Mulhouse

Review 37:Despite pre- warnIng our hosts about my wife's gluten intolerance, there was no provision made of any gluten-free product. At the tariff charged this is regarded as poor hosting, as we have experienced superb response to this issue in stays in Italy and elsewhere. Additionally our room had a small corner shower, that leaked onto the floor and had been for some time.

Review 38:A great location and a beautiful building. Typical French breakfast, with home-made preserves and cake.

Review 39:Everything, we arrived at 6ish and had a cool beer in the garden followed by an excellent meal with four other guests. We had the suite on the top floor which had opening windows and a tiny bit of road noise, but a large, comfy bed ensured we slept very well. Have already recommended this place to friends in zurich

Review 40:nothing

Review 41:Wonderful place to stay! We only stayed one night and were made very welcome. Comfortable, clean and welcoming with interesting art work displayed, amazing breakfast and nothing was too much trouble, would stay again.

Review 42:Private parking was inconvenient. Unrepaired damage to w.c. and shower. No air conditioning.

Review 43:Within walking distance of city centre. Beautiful chateau-type house, with ultra-modern parts of interior. Excellent home cooked dinner; home-baked bread and cakes, and home-made preserves and yoghurt. Very friendly atmosphere at meals and friendly hosts.

Review 44:Private home - that meant I did not recieve my own key. I needed to activate bell to get in. So - the hosts needed to be in. I felt they looked over my shoulder constantly. I cannot recommend this place and I will not go back.

Review 45:Nice house Nice people

Review 46:Lovely hosts, characterful property, excellent breakfast.

Review 47:Everything was perfect! Amazing breakfast!

Review 48:It took us a bit of time to find it in the dark, but we can blame the sat-nav for that.

Review 49:Very friendly. Lovely house with nice décor. Comfortable room.

Review 50:No air on in room. Unfortunately it was 34C during our stay so uncomfortable at night.

Review 51:Friendly hosts, elegant decor and artwork.

Review 52:Very friendly hosts. Very comfortable room. Delicious breakfast.

Review 53:Our room was a little too small for comfort

Review 54:Warm welcome, interior design, lovely homemade breakfast, attention to detail

Review 55:Not having a key for the gate or door. Billing was not as advertised onbooking.com: room was charged 3 weeks in advance without my permission.

Review 56:We felt good like at home

Review 57:A wonderful experience - truly a home away from home. We will definitely return.

Review 58:Shower did need attention but was being attended to the next week.

Review 59:The owners were very helpful and friendly.

Review 60:Smashing house, extraordinary interior design, super hospitality and excellent breakfast.

Review 61:The beautiful house with soul, very welcome owners. Great atmosphere! Home made delicious breakfast.

Review 62:The elegance and taste of the house and gardens. The kindness of the owners and comfort of the room.

Review 63:Renovation of top floor a bit underdone

Review 64:Comfort

Review 65:EVERYTHING about the Peonia is fantastic! Do not hesitate, just book before it is too late!!

Review 66:Especially the breakfast. The owner was very helpful and gracious. A delightful house and location

Review 67:Nothing!

Review 68:Lovely owners - very accommodating with a stunning home rich for the sensors! Beautiful home cooked breakfast.

Review 69:Beautiful decoration Suberb hosts Splendid meal (dinner & breakfast)

Review 70:A little warm and street noise with the windows open.

Review 71:It was an exquisite old mansion and the dinner and breakfast were exceptional.

Review 72:a beautifully decorated chambre d'hôte. breakfast was fantastic with everything made in house and beautifully presented. excellent french press coffee. location was a little out of town but within a pleasant walk.

Review 73:Andrea and Tony were the perfect hosts. Their home is amazing and the location is as wonderful. We arrived and Andrea graciously took held our bags. We came back after 5pm and checked in. Thry gave us great information and we walked into town and had a fabulous dinner. Andrea was pitting fresh cherries in her amazing kitchen and was making fresh marmalade for our breakfast. Our rooms were lovely and so comfortable. The only drawback was that we shared a bathroom with our friends. And after you've seen the bathroom, you forget about the drawbacks. Breakfast was indescribable. Fresh baked bred (3 different kinds), 4 fresh fruit marmalades, homemade yogurt, fresh fruit (for the yogurt), fresh squeezed orange juice, french pressed coffee - all of this on a beautifully set table. There were other guests in the house and sat at another table and we all enjoyed the moring. Although Andrea did not spesk much English and we spoke very little French, we eah umderstood the other. Peonia At Home is a beautiful old home decorated wth just enough of beautifully modern fixtures and technology to compliment. Must not forget the graciousness of their son Jean, who answred any questions, and translated what we needed. We will never forget our experienceand would love to return.

Review 74:I hate the words 'didn't like' as it really was a nice place. My only real concern was the arrival. My fiancé and I don't speak French and the hostess did not speak English so I think it was frustrating for us after such a long drive and being able to really communicate. However, the teenage son and host arrived later and it was fine. Breakfast was also light but very good. Also, there was no air conditioning and being on the top floor it did get uncomfortable - but NOT a reason to not visit!!

Review 75:It's a great location to catch the train. The home is absolutely beautiful. We were in an upper floor so nice view and very private.

Review 76:It was a home from home in this villa with garden and full of interesting objects, paintings, antiques. Our hosts made us feel welcome and we llok forward to coming back again

Review 77:A bit out of the way - 15 minute walk across the bridge to the city centre.

Review 78:Beautiful house, fantastic breakfast with homemade jams and pastries. Impecably clean. We (two adults and two children) stayed on the first floor. We had two very nice bedrooms and a huge bathroom with bath and shower. The only downside was the the bathroom was not ensuite to any of our bedrooms.

Review 79:We didn't understand that you need to run the water for an exceptionally long time to get hot water. We didn't have showers because of this.

Review 80:Magnificently renovated 1920's grand home. It is a credit to its owners. Tony was very kind & helpful.

Review 81:As might be expected, there is no elevator in this house, if you have heavy luggages, it needs a little bit struggles against gravitational force.

Review 82:We stayed 1 night this B&B the last night of 9 days journey of Europa. It was absolutely fantastic. We satisfiyed enough. We recommend to have a dinner at this B&B. Breakfast was also rich with home made bread, some kind of jams and yogurts. If we have a chance to visit Mulhouse once again, we will choice this B&B absolutely.

Review 83:Nothing, this was just perfect!

Review 84:We had a wonderful stay at this lovely B&B. If you want to feel at home, we highly recommend it. The house is stunning and people are lovely.

Review 85:I would like more variety at the breakfast.

Review 86:The hotel was so classy and relaxing...the location was perfect only 5 minutes on foot from the train station of Mullhouse!!The owners were really polite and helpfull!!

Review 87:This is a room in someone's house. The owner was available all the time and was extremely helpful but the overall feeling was that you were intruding.

Review 88:We missed some comfort in the suite bedroom situated direct under the roof. The bathtub was missing in our room at the attic and the wardrobe a little 'minimalistic'. We would advice to arrange more storage space in the bathroom/shower and provice guests also with body lotion, shampoo samples etc. For the price and comfort level provided (fe. at the breakfast) we found the suite a little bit too standard.

Review 89:Great hospitality and really excellent breakfast. Location very handy with own parking and beautiful house. The owners collected design furnture combined with antique and art which makes the interior well worth seeing.

Review 90:We stayed 4 nights and it was absolutely fabulous! Beautiful house and very nice people. We recommend to have dinner there as well. If it would be an hotel it would have 5 stars! :)

Review 91:no wifi in the room no warm welcome: we stayed in Mulhouse on Christmas eve. Since all the restaurants I contacted before were all closed and since the owner never reacted to my email message asking him for tips, we decided to have our Christmas meal in the room. But the owner objected to that which we could not really appreciate.

Review 92:nice room breakfast was very nice

Review 93:Unfortunately the bathroom was small and the TV was mainly in French, but these are really small fair points in comparison with the other points.

Review 94:Really good B&B in a nice house with a fantastic breakfast. The owners are gentle and they were open to give any help. We discovered that they speak a perfect Italian and we considered us like to stay at home.

Review 95:It is not exactly at the city center - it takes between 15-20 min on foot to reach it.

Review 96:Very nice hosts. Historical and very beautiful house with spacious rooms. Very good breakfast. Free wi-fi and private parking.

Review 97:Nothing to bicker!

Review 98:Warm and friendly but unobtrusive hosts, excellent conversations about the house and art. The old villa rebuilt with modern elements. Excellent and spacious room and the BEST breakfast with (almost) everything home made.

Review 99:Nothing....it's absolutely fabulous!

Review 100:We stayed 1 night at Peonia at Home to meet an early morning flight fromEuroport...it was absolutely fantastic. The B&B is in lovely and well-maintained house built in the 19th century. The owners are bothArchitects and put their heart into creating a luxury interior withmodern bathrooms with a shower and bathtub. There is superb gardenaround it with free parking. For dinner, the owner recommended some options and we selected a nice French restaurant. He drove us there and came back after we were done to pick us up! That was really nice :)) Breakfast was rich with home made jams, variety of breads, yogurts, fruits, cheese etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay...we wish it was longer! This is a 5 star B&B (if there's such a rating) in my opinion and I recommend it fully. It was a great experience!

Review 101:Wonderful hospitality with very welcoming and charming owners. The house is very stylish yet homely and very quiet. Delicious breakfast with home made jams!

Review 102:What's not to like is the right question.

Review 103:Loved the place, designed with great taste. Keeping it warm and comfy. Probably the best offer in Mulhouse! And do not pass the extended breakfast. Homemade bakeries will definitely meet your early needs.

Review 104:Beautiful interior design, the owner's artwork on display, all food home made, small scale approach, very personal attention by owners to all one's needs. An exceptionally nice place for a very reasonable price.

Review 105:The host and hostess are extremely good at making you feel welcome and ensuring that your stay will end up in your top list for a long time. The accommodation is stunning and each room has it's own sense of style and luxury you will not easily find elsewhere. We can highly recommend having dinner at Peonia as well as the hostess is an amazing cook and her husband will serve you as if you were dining in a high quality restaurant. A stay we will not soon forget!

Review 106:The 4star rating is not enough!! We felt that the owners went out of their way to accommodate our every need.Breakfast was terrific, the table was set beautifully and there was more than enough to eat ( too much in fact). We had dinner at Peonia, not once but twice as we were so impressed with our meal. We felt that we had left family behind when we left. Highly recommended!!!

Review 107:The Peonia at home is: _an insight in the host family's unique passion for art, design, architecture ,collectibles and love for receiving guests. _a modern furniture design lovers stay in Mulhouse _fusion of styles and time periods _a promising work in progress, that invites the guest to come back again to see what will be the next project.

Review 108:Google maps was not that helpful in locating this accommodation and Ibecame lost. A link to accurate directions posted with the listing wouldbe most helpful for printing off and taking with you on the trip. I didnot have reliable internet connection in the rental car so I washopelessly lost. I called the hotel and the family was able to direct meto the location but this was initially frustrating.

Review 109:The owner/family was outstanding! They provided the highest level ofservice I have experienced in a long while. The home was immaculate andthe rooms were very comfortable. The wife cooked outstanding meals. Shewould even provide you with dinner if you did not want to go out atnight. Her fruit salad in the morning was memorable. Another benefit toAmerican visitors staying at Peonia at home is that the 18 year old sonspoke fluent English and was very helpful in communicating with theFrench/Italian parents. The husband and son recommended a Michelin rated restaurant one evening in the historic section of Mulhouse named Ristorante IL CORTILE (which I would highly recommend). The owner personally drove me to the restaurant and came back to get me when I finished dinner so I would not get lost driving in the city! I could not have asked for a more relaxing and intimate accommodation. I am eagerly awaiting another chance to stay at Peonia at home in the future.

Review 110:Wi-Fi doesn't work well. Family suite consists of two seperatedbedrooms and a separated bathroom - all on the same floor with otherowner's family members - lack of privacy.

Review 111:Very nice owners. Outstanding hospitality!

Review 112:No common areas for a family. Key misding for one of the rooms. Bad wifi.

Review 113:Wonderful house, excellent breakfast.

Review 114:Lot of stairs to climb to the room Parking arrangment complicated

Review 115:The owners are very kind nd helpful The house is amazing and well equipped

Review 116:Heaven forbid you dare ask to check in before 17h00-I thought my head would be bitten off!!

Review 117:Location, breakfast, cleanliness
