Reviews for Hôtel Port Beach

Review 1:Room a bit tired. Marina could be just about any holiday area in the world, doesn't feel French

Review 2:Needed a break from old towns so modern building and marina sounded good. Hotel is comfortable but a bit tired and room a bit small. View from balcony was excellent and plenty of dine out choices in Marina or old town. Old town is only 5 minutes walk away.

Review 3:Room quite small writh an odd enclosed balcony with a partition wall. The extra space would be better within the room, as this was quite cramped.

Review 4:Good location

Review 5:costly parking, not originally advertised by hotel prominently displayed rules and regulations, with frightening repercussions if rules broken! - rather like a prison camp and not at all welcoming

Review 6:the view overlooking the port

Review 7:I was in transit to Spain and after 2 days of travel i was looking for a hotel off the motorway and although it was only an overnight stop i wanted somewhere to be able to relax. Although off the motorway by 5 miles the port location makes it worthwhile, I was spoilt for choice, restaurants and bars. It will be my list for future reference

Review 8:Staff on reception were rather haughty and we found the charge of €2 per day for our bikes to go in their carport surprising. We had cycled from England to this Hotel for charity and they could have waived that charge

Review 9:Location.

Review 10:The town is a tourist trap with horrible restaurants only after seasonal cash. They had a techno concert in the center blasting base until mid-night keeping the town awake. I guess it would be okay if you were a teen... Didn't see a single person smile.

Review 11:The room, views and staff were all nice.

Review 12:Room rather on the small side

Review 13:Great waterfronts view, the balcony, central location on the waterfront, quiet, modern and well presented, pleasant staff, restaurant good value

Review 14:The rear of the hotel is on the Marina and the walkway around the harbour, breakfast area overlooking the bay. good hotel for a couple of nights if you are on your b way to Spain.

Review 15:The bath had not been cleaned, and the shampoo was left from the residents before. The room windows had hand prints on them . The breakfast had an extra charge. To get bottled water one had to go to a vending machine and it was over priced. One had to pay a parking fee. The place was impersonal.

Review 16:Not very much

Review 17:An extortionate charge of €18 per dog, per night. They are Bichon Frise's, they don't shed hair so thought that was entirely unreasonable, they left no mark. Being March the room was very cold, although the air on blew hot as well as cold so eventually warmed the room up

Review 18:Our room had a lovely view across the harbour. The lady on reception was friendly and helpful, going to some lengths to show us where we could have an evening meal. The room functioned reasonably although it was on the shabby side.

Review 19:Nothing.

Review 20:Ideal place to stay in Gruissan. Waterfront position, perfect for mediaeval village and port. Friendly staff and good service. Lots of neighbouring nice waterfront restaurants.

Review 21:Room not cleaned that well (e.g. Some dead flies in the corner) or very well decorated. Hotel staff were ok but have to say that Gruissan was the least friendly place we visited in France. Some great views and restaurants though.

Review 22:Great location

Review 23:breakfast not a lot of choice for the money.could have had a better view out the window.no kettle in the room thought three star hotel would.

Review 24:hotel room was clean and bright. comfortable bed loved the bathroom.

Review 25:Noisy No blinds / shutters so very bright in the morning

Review 26:Good clean hotel Helpful staff who speak English Wifi Parking Close to all amenities Air conditioning

Review 27:Chair at desk jammed into bed when getting up from desk. Nothing else!

Review 28:Welcoming staff in hotel. Friendly staff and good food in restaurant, overlooking the port. Secure parking. Easy to find. Beaches and historic sites nearby. Big desk in room was very practical except that chair butted up against the bed. I didn't have a balcony but still had a view. Good bathroom and excellent shower. Great thunderstorm on my second night there...highly entertaining. Restaurant terrace suddenly had to evacuate as the rain bucketed down for a few minutes, but they had everyone settled inside within a very short time and continued serving - well done, restaurant staff; impressive.

Review 29:The furniture and fittings in the room were old and there were some sticky stains on the carpet. Generally a smelly stuffy room. Rooms overlooking the road are noisy at night time and I couldn't sleep.

Review 30:Friendly helpful staff. Good location on the Port.

Review 31:Smell of damp in room.

Review 32:Overlooking marina, balcony. Fridge in room. Restaurant. Lovely old town and market. Parking.

Review 58:The location was perfect

Review 59:WiFi not strong

Review 60:Great hotel in a brilliant location. Friendly helpful staff

Review 61:expensive bar

Review 62:stunning location, bars etc

Review 63:The buffet breakfast at 9 euro was not worth the money a few slices of cooked meat and croissants also tried to have lunch there but the cook had gone!

Review 64:Central Location close to the marina, beach and the old town

Review 65:Leaving.

Review 66:We had cycles across France from Biarritz to Guisson and need help for the return journey. Olivia was simply outstanding. While the rest of the staff were good she was simply excellent and ensured our departure was stress free and as smooth as silk. We can not speak highly enough about her customer service skills.

Review 67:Wanted to charge us to park a motorcycle in their car park (quite empty). Left it outside the gate of their car park for the week f.o.c.

Review 68:One of very few hotels in (new) Gruissan, good location, lovely view over the marina and a good sized room and bathroom.

Review 69:room too small electrics were coming out of the wall wifi did not work tv programmes not available lights did not work unhelp night time staff

Review 70:We arrived on bikes and were asked for 12€ to ''park" these for the night even though there was space outside the hotel. We stayed at 14 different hotels this summer this was the only one which wanted to charge for bikes.Staff very unhelpful.

Review 71:Breakfast over priced

Review 72:Very friendly staff on reception, great quay side bar, and location. Good views from rooms particularly on the marina side. Rooms were well presented.

Review 73:We thought breakfast was expensive for what they served. Petit dejeuneris often highly priced in France but we felt they could have made moreeffort. There was never much juice left, the machine for freshlysqueezed was out of order. They really could do with some new towels, the present ones are a trifle grey and threadbare as well as beingsomewhat skimpy. The room and bathroom were acceptable but very small. The fridge was so full of ice it made it virtually unusable as itdidn't cool anything.

Review 74:The location is just perfect overlooking the port. There doesn'tappear to be any other hotels round the marina. The staff are welcomingand friendly.

Review 75:... wifi was working in the room very bad...???
