Reviews for La Pêcherie

Review 1:1.the bedroom is spacious but severely lacking in cupboard space, hanging space, and drawers(none) 2. lighting in bedroom miserly 3. a couple of senior staff a bit po-faced

Review 2:1 location 2 excellent restaurant 3 large bedroom 4 most of staff v. good-efficient, friiendly but not familiar

Review 3:I like breakfast rooms that have coffee machines so everyone can have a coffee to their liking. I like espresso coffee for my breakfast; here there was just an urn of pre-cooked coffee.

Review 4:Very nice room. Modern fittings, good shower, interesting decor and plenty of space. I was happy. The restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was simple but everything of a very high standard.

Review 5:Everything was great. You could sometimes here the people upstairs walking around but nothing that would disturb anyone

Review 6:Great staff, great location, Good food and clean. Was very close to bus stop beach and Juno beach museum.

Review 7:Breakfast meagre for the price. Restaurant very expensive and our fish was overcooked. No full lenghth mirror, only mirror was a small one above the washbasin. No aircon, would be uncomfortable in August. No lift, steps up to rooms wooden & narrow.

Review 8:This is a quirky hotel with lots of odd pieces in the rooms eg a car door above the bed. It was very clean, our room was large with a comfortable bed. There was a roomy rain shower. We had 2 lovely big leather armchairs. Parking outside hotel.

Review 9:We were on the top floor which had a slanting roof entrance as it looked like a loft conversion which is fine if you are not too tall but I am quite tall so found this a mild irritation Shame there wasnt tea /coffee making facilities in the room as that would have made it more amenable to us

Review 10:Liked the modern feel to the rooms with an old fashioned facade No key to be used as everything was electronic but that might not suit everyone Very good food in the restaurant

Review 11:One small thing, put toilet paper in the rooms instead of the paper dispenser... Breakfast is ok. Maybe add some mini chocolate biscuits and mini croissants.

Review 12:This is one of the best hotels to visit the Normandy beaches.

Review 13:The room felt like we were stashed away in the attic reached via stairs which few would manage easily, especially when humping luggage.

Review 14:Staff helpful, friendly and efficient. The fish we had for dinner was very good.

Review 15:Great location to visit The Juno Beach Centre. Rooms were lovely and the staff are very pleasant. Wish there had been enough time for more than one night.

Review 16:We both woke up in the middle of the night because of the noise caused by strong wind (the hotel is by the sea, I guess strong wind is not an unlikely occurrence). Another slightly negative is that you need to prepare a fat pocket if you decide to go to the restaurant. Excellent food at an expensive price.

Review 17:This hotel looks very nice from the outside and the inside is even better! The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff friendly and helpful. We also liked the fact that everything looked newly refurbished and functional.

Review 18:The bed wasn't too comfy. YOu could feel the springs on te matress. Wifi wasn't working

Review 19:Great location. Great service. Very clean. Nice hot shower with awesome water pressure. Lots of character.

Review 20:No lounge area in hotel Bedroom lighting very dim, and none at all for the easy chairs in the bedroom

Review 21:Great dinners Quirky decoration and objets Comfortable bed, nice linen

Review 22:Finding ourselves with an unexpected extra day in France we booked the room on line only a couple of hours before we arrived at La Pecherie and were fortunate to get what was possibly the last available room. We felt that, although it was nicely decorated, it was up in the eaves and rather cramped. This would not stop us from returning on a future occasion to enjoy what is a very nice hotel, but we would hope to have a larger room next time.

Review 23:The location was excellent. Our room was on the top floor and we had a lovely view over the pretty town and across to the sea. The food in the restaurant was very good and nicely presented and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Review 24:No multi lingual information provided verbally or in writing in relation to hotel facilities/services something which has always been available in hotels all over the world. Would not recommend for those with mobility issues as steep staircase to rooms.

Review 25:Good location; smart boutique hotel; would be ideal for couples. Restaurant appeared to be popular with residents and non-residents in the evenings.

Review 26:We missed eggs for breakfast. Rather small shower which made the whole bathroom floor wet.

Review 27:Wonderful room and location to visit Normandy! Staff was very friendly and the restaurant delicious to have diner and lunch!

Review 28:- Breakfast was great but should be included in the room rate.

Review 29:- Great location near the Courseulles Pier. - Clean and nicely renovated rooms. - Rain shower. - Great restaurant.

Review 30:Excellent meal

Review 31:Not a hotel but annexe which required 200m walk for breakfast

Review 32:Thought we were booking a hotel not annexe

Review 33:Good location and excellent food

Review 34:The narrowness of the toilet cubicle!!

Review 35:Cleanliness was excellent!! Breakfast was plenty and varied!!

Review 36:Toilet was in a coffin like room? Very uncomfortable

Review 37:Staff was superb. Caroline made everything fun and easy.

Review 38:Loved the decor in the room & throughout the hotel. The food in the restaurant was superb.

Review 39:No air conditioning

Review 40:Lovely conservatory where we had lunch. Rooms were very nice and shower was excellent. Very helpful staff, especially the English speaking mature waiter with glasses. Free public parking straight outside, our motorbike was very safe there overnight. The hotel has rooms in a separate house around the corner in Rue du Marechal Foch. This has its own private parking for about 8 vehicles at the front.

Review 41:No elevator

Review 42:The location was excellent, right next to the beach. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were decorated unique to each room. We stayed in "The Clock" Room and had a great view.

Review 43:No issues

Review 44:Staff very friendly. Made a child welcome. Outstanding food in the restaurant. Staff seemed to be making a real effort to upgrade the facilities going out of their way not to cause disruptn for guests while this is being done.

Review 45:No tea / coffee making facility in the room. Insufficient drawer / cupboard space for clothes. Hotel should warn that steep stairs in Le Manoir are unsuitable for the old and unfirm.

Review 46:Friendly staff, clean room, good maid service, quiet location. The ambiance of a splendid old French house (Le Manoir), preserved externally while well modernised inside.

Review 47:I was only there for 10 hours! Would have loved to stay longer! But that was my fault!

Review 48:Absolutely lived the village. Perfect. Walking the marina and seeing the fresh fish unloaded in the morning - just had to but some oysters. A simply beautiful place to stay and an excellent hotel (both for the thought that had gone into the hotel rooms and the location). Won't hesitate to go there again.

Review 49:In our opinion we thought that the restaurant was too pricey so decided to dine else where but for the 2 nights we stayed here the restaurant was full up when we walked past.

Review 50:The rooms were absolutely impeccable, they were modern with a french feel to them. The cleaning standards of the hotel were fantastic! The staff were very professional in dealing with any requests that we had. They were very friendly and made us feel comfortable in the hotel. The hotel is in a fantastic location, less than a 5 minute walk from the beach! It wasn't too over tourist population with a good residential feel to it and all the people we met were friendly and kind. Look forward to re-booking in the future!

Review 51:Price was a bit too much on the high side

Review 52:Nice Place, close to the" MANCHE" ( CHANNEL)

Review 53:The room was a bit dark and the lighting was poor

Review 54:The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was very good

Review 55:This hotel has an excellent restaurant and is in a good location for visiting both the beach and the town.

Review 56:Cramped, hot without A/C. Three flights of stairs that are narrow and unmanageable with suitcases. No lift.

Review 57:Location and attached restaurant

Review 58:Location

Review 59:Nothing

Review 60:The room and the food were great. The service was excellent.

Review 61:Friendly staff. Great location for historical beaches. Comfortable rooms.

Review 62:Well located in town. Parking easy. Room spacious & comfortable bed. Good breaky.

Review 63:Our room was beginning to look a little tired, and was in need of redecoration.

Review 64:The evening meal was excellent.

Review 65:Dinner service a bit slow and had to chase 3 times to get water

Review 66:Excellent food
