Reviews for Dunas Don Gregory

Review 1:The small gym could do with regular maintenance as 1 of the 2 exercise bikes was faulty. We reported it but, perhaps as it was Christmas week, it wasn't the ideal time for getting the repair man on the job.

Review 2:Cleanliness, comfort, catering, calm. A relaxing place with restful loungers on the balcony or activities around the pool with evening entertainment as you wish, all made for a varied enjoyable stay with pleasant staff to help when required. There was a great selection of foods on the buffet with hot and cold fish and meat dishes and plentiful salads and desserts.A chef was on hand to fry eggs bacon sausage pancakes at breakfast and fish and meat at lunch and dinner too!

Review 3:The wifi system is not good at all. It could have been more sunbeds

Review 4:Everything was nice and cleen all over. Good Food. Many different type off Food.

Review 5:The floor of the pool area was not very clean and didn't seem to be cleaned very often. Also, the food was lovely and the staff were lovely. It just would have made such a difference if we were seated and asked to order drinks when seated. As it is you must find your own available table and wait to catch a staff member to order drinks.

Review 6:Good location, good food and very helpful staff.

Review 7:The food was actually fine with a great selection but the room is a bit drab, the coffee wasn't great and the only fresh juice was the tomato juice. Given they go to the bother of having an egg chef it is a bit shocking they were often cracked, dry and unappetising. The location doesn't have a lot of alternatives..but you can easily get a bus to Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles or you can walk to the latter in less than an hour along the promenade

Review 8:The view of the sea from the rooms and the proximity of the hotel to bus stops made this a perfect jumping off point for our stay. There are very few hotels in the island where you can see the water from the rooms, something I look for from a beach holiday.

Review 9:First stay in Don Gregory. Perfect sea-front location was decisive for my choice of this hotel. The stay met my main criteria - room with unhindered sea view, soothing sound of the waves, relaxed atmosphere, no extravagance. Breakfast and dinner offered satisfactory choices. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 10:Free WiFi not always available and too slow. Hotel furniture is a bit dated.

Review 11:Our 1st impression was that this hotel is not really what we had expected! We arrived late at night and thought that the hotel was a bit dated. However, everything changed next morning. The Hotel has the best location on the strip all the way down to Malpalomas. It sits "on the beach". You cannot get any closer. The views from nearly every room is spectacular. We had half board and we could not fault the food. There appears to be lots of choice, the healthy and the not so healthy option catering for everybodys needs. Most importantly the hotel and bedrooms were spotless (old of course but very clean) and the Staff were always friendly and polite. It was our first time in Gran Canaria and our first time at this hotel. We will go back to both again. Incidentally, you can walk for several k along a beautiful promenade with great coastline views, from just outside the back gate of the hotel.

Review 12:We got single beds in spite of having specifically chosen the double bed option when we booked the room through the web (they said we should have called them a month in advance). The fire alarm went off a 3:00 am by accident. Ok, that can happen but: (i) it took them nearly half an hour to stop it (no kill switch??); and (ii) they didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. No Wi-Fi at all in the rooms (not even paying).

Review 13:Location is great if you are looking for a quiet vacation close to the beach. The animation staff was good fun.

Review 14:Narrow arond the pool. Small garden.

Review 15:Location right to the Beach and the promenade, possibility to walk in both directions (Bahia Feliz-Maspalomas), also in parks or to the hill. Neighbour to CC San Augustin with dinner and dancing at 3 Hjerterand lunsj by Cafè Swedica. And the best of all: Don Gregory has marvellous Food with great varity.

Review 16:everything but the vegetables and the meat/fish. the staff was clearly focussed on the elderly crowd, because they tip a lot....

Review 17:fresh vegetables meat and fish were fresh

Review 18:The majority of guests are age 60-70+, which was a little surprising. For a four star hotel the food and the comfort were clearly inferior. We booked half-board, and really tried out the breakfast and dinner buffet and did not leave the meals hungry, which is the most positive I can say. The beds were made up with some kind of protective plastic stuff beneath the bedsheats, which breaths less and is not comfortable. Our advice is to remove these from the beds before going to sleep... (Has this been done because of the age of the most frequent guests??)

Review 19:The hotel has a fantastic location right on the beach in San Augustine. It is a raher quiet place, but still close to supermarkets, some restaurants. Only a quick taxi drive to Playa del Ingles for a larger selection of offers. The personell were very polite and helpful, all of them from the reception to the ones in the restaurant, but for the pool dude (he behaved like he wanted another job).

Review 20:I didn't like mad heater show. he is changing his outfit in front of every body and his songs are too old.

Review 21:view, swiming pool area, also the gym pool and activities that the hotel had with children. Flamenco show. Spanish music.

Review 22:Rude man at the swimming pool Only paid Wi-Fi Not very clean dishes at the restaurant Very loud restaurant Hotel would need the renovation

Review 23:Location - nice on the beach, in walking distance to the dunes.

Review 24:Excellent staff and comfort and food!

Review 25:- Brekfast exelent - Location perfect, quiet but short walking distance to ingles

Review 26:Noisy and long-lasting entertainment EVERY night on terrace. In-room safe must be paid extra

Review 27:Very flexible with respect to dinner time

Review 28:Not many English TV channels, Towels reserving sun loungers early morning when no one there.

Review 29:Scrambled eggs at breakfast.

Review 30:The reception staff were extremely attentive and helpful. Lunch and dinner buffet offered wide selection, meats cooked to order. There is a showerroom available to freshen up if you have a late flight. Kids loved katy from animation team.

Review 31:Lack of double glazing on bedroom windows. TV should have been flat screen and wall mounted. A shower stall would be preferable to one in the bath (Difficult for older people to get in and out)

Review 32:Courtesy of staff and very good food. Excellent position on seafront

Review 33:We found the hotel very ran-down with wall paper tearing from the wall, windows broken on the hallway, security lock not working in our room, the gym in a horrible shape etc. Everything "extra" such as using the safe bore an extra cost - you wouldn't expect that at a 4-star hotel! While most the staff was very friendly, we also experienced some very rude attitude at the reception desk

Review 34:The view from the 9th floor rooms was breath taking. The buffet dinner was excellent with a nice selection of food, although it would have been nice to have some vegetarian options besides salad.

Review 35:Staff very slow to serve drinks at meals and at bar. Had eaten most of meal before being asked if we would like a drink. AI usually help yourself to soft drinks, but all bar service. Staff also not very friendly. did not like the tightly packed tables and sun loungers

Review 36:The rooms were very spacious. Hotel right on the beach. Great location. Hotel clean and tidy. AI meals were good; food fresh and enjoyable. Apart from most of staffs attitude did enjoy our stay.

Review 37:Rooms need renovation, bathtub in the bathroom not our favourite, not really a child friendly place, mostly older people

Review 38:Food and staff was excellent, location at the beach, close to shops, heated pool, fair price

Review 39:Poor fitness room. You have to pay extra or a safe in the room and forinternet/Wi-Fi. Better if such things are included in the pricewhich might be a little higher.

Review 40:Beautiful view over the ocean. Very good food. Very good with cold freedrinks in the lobby, I.E. mineral water and orange juice.

Review 41:pool was not heated.

Review 42:have stayed here many times.

Review 43:too cold at night to sit out at pool bar for music and shows

Review 44:good food good location

Review 45:Room was excellent, very spacious! Bathroom also brilliant as walk in shower and I have mobility problems and room was next to lift

Review 46:we needed a nice relaxing holiday and thats exactly what we got . friendly staff, good variety of food and clean rooms .

Review 47:It was a very relaxing holiday with helpful and friendly staff in a well-run hotel

Review 48:Staff
