Reviews for Hôtel de l'Europe
Review 1:There was a problem with the first room allocated, which had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, but fortunately this was changed by the staff.
Review 2:The beautiful breakfast room! Also the rooms themselves are very nice.
Review 3:nothing really, a lift would have been nice but we did know there wasn't one in the main building.
Review 4:Reception very efficient and polite, car parking in middle of Poitiers really useful as City was very busy.
Review 5:The hotel is in two buildings and the bar is not really a bar it has a very limited selection.
Review 6:The location was perfect and easy parking. We used it as a stopover The room was comfortable, clean and the facilities adequate.
Review 7:The hotel is of a human size, all the staff are efficient and friendly, the "comfort" rooms are perfect, with no noise from neighbours. The breakfast room is delightful too, as is the lady in attendance.
Review 8:Bathroom tiles near shower covered in mould. We tried to clean before having a shower. Poor Wi-Fi connection.
Review 9:Located in the centre and the town with on site parking. Accommodation basic with clean comfortable bed.
Review 10:Bathroom was a bit small Bedside lights set too low and were very hot, possibly should be changed to avoid scorching anything on bedside table.
Review 11:Location just off centre of town, convenient for the restaurants. Parking facilities Quiet at night Breakfast selection
Review 12:I had to iron my clothes in the hall and not in my room - hotel policy
Review 13:Very nice hotel with very good breakfast option... Great receptionist, very helpful and welcoming.
Review 14:We spent about half an hour driving around the city and trying to get to the hotel - one way traffic system is terrible there, no proper road signs; if you don't know the city, you'd better have a good Sat Nav. But it's not the hotel to be blamed for.
Review 15:We liked the location, room comfort and Wi-fi - it was working perfect in our room, which is unusual.
Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:Hotel Europe was a lovely hotel in a great location with parking for €7 per day which was great value. It is minutes from shops and restaurants and ideal for our two night stay. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Review 18:By the time we arrived, there was no room in the car park - but we managed to find a public car park nearby.
Review 19:Very good location, friendly staff and varied selection for breakfast.
Review 20:The TV is a bit small by current standards.
Review 21:Being a teacher at the Business School (again ESCEM), I have been staying at this hotel for many years and warmly recommend it, because the ("confort") room is well appointed is peaceful, the staff are delightful and good restaurants are right next door!
Review 22:Staff were really helpful and kind, this hotel is real value for money and is ideally situated between Carcasonne medieval town and Trebes with its cafe's by the canal
Review 23:The reception area was lovely but room disappointing. The room we had was small, too cramped and claustrophobic and not worth the money we paid for it.
Review 24:Staff lovely and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and staff in dining room very attentive
Review 25:The rooms were too hot. If window open it was noisy . We booked interconnecting rooms but instead were given two doubles which did not suit our family as would not have left children alone in a room. We were in an annexe and not main hotel , which I did not like or find very secure
Review 26:Hotel location
Review 27:Coffee not the best, but a small negative out of a good range of choices at breakfast.
Review 28:The hotel had parking in the centre for a reasonable cost and was moments away from the centre.
Review 29:Room very small for adult granddaughter and myself, and bathroom miniscule. Shower not very powerful.
Review 30:Location excellent, lots of restaurants within 100m. Breakfast good.
Review 31:The window did not close securely .
Review 32:The situation was perfect for visiting the city. The receptionist was very helpful and pleasant. The room was nice and clean
Review 33:This is only a suggestion .Grouting between tiles in bathroom could do with being redone.
Review 34:As we are 75+ we enjoyed having the little lounges and the peaceful garden to sit in after several hours wandering around sightseeing. It was good to have a number of restaurants just on the doorstep ,so to speak. We liked that hotel was in a courtyard. It was nice and peaceful.Lovely decor.
Review 35:Bathroom was very smelly and the toilet brush had lots of toilet paper stuck to it when we arrived which would have explained the smell.
Review 36:Location was great.
Review 37:Only issue was with the towels - one small bath and hand towel between the two of us! We only stayed one night so not a big issue and I'm sure they would have provided extra towels if we asked.
Review 38:The staff were really helpful. Breakfast - a good selection of tasty food and drinks. Good location in the centre of town and secure parking. Would recommend and would stay there again.
Review 39:The breakfast room. A traffic jam with not enough room, queuing, cramped and not enough tables for the guests.
Review 40:The bed, the silent double glazed windws, the bathroom, the separate toilet, the location, the decor, the TV channels.
Review 41:The receptionist was nice but I did not feel a warm welcome that you got from other places. I felt that this hotel was more for business people rather then holidays makers. The parking should be free.
Review 42:great location, clean and comfy bed
Review 43:The room is way too small for comfort as is the bathroom. On the first day we had no hot water as somebody had turned a stopcock by accident. No compensation was offered! The room badly needs renovating. Wallpaper is peeling off the walls.
Review 44:The location and the breakfast
Review 45:No tea & coffee making facilities, iron, small fridge..........not provided in most hotels we have stayed at in Italy or France.
Review 46:Proximity to the town centre was great as was the on-site car parking !!
Review 47:It was a shame there was no bar in the hotel.
Review 48:Excellent location in the centre of the city and in walking distance of a good selection of restaurants. Breakfast was also great with lots to choose from.
Review 49:We were charged for breakfasts we did not have. Parking is VERY tight - typical Europe. Beds are like rocks. Walls are paper thin.
Review 50:The location is very good and within walking distance from shops and cafes.
Review 51:No lift so quite a climb to second floor with suitcases. No air conditioning but fan provided so not too bad. Breakfast not quite as good as some we have enjoyed, but we enjoyed our stay here.
Review 52:Excellent location for a few days in Poitiers on edge of old town, and off main thoroughfare. Garage parking. Very pleasant good size bedroom. Lovely dining room and garden at rear of property.
Review 53:From the moment we arrived it was quiet clear that the receptionist would rather not deal with us.There was no real welcome. For the duration of our stay I did not hear the words "please, thank you, your welcome" . Valerie was the only receptionist to smile, the others just looked uninterested.
Review 54:The location was good and the room was clean.
Review 55:I thought that the room was a little cramped but okay for a short stay.
Review 56:It's location in relation to the city was excellent. On site parking was a bonus.
Review 57:Air condition did not exist and in summer it was too hot during the night. Wireless connection simply did not work for me.
Review 58:Very nice location surrounded by nice restaurants.
Review 59:Drunks keeping everyone awake from about 2-3 am for the rest of the night. The night staff (one) tried his best but it was difficult.
Review 60:Being close to the centre of town
Review 61:Fantastic stay at this town centre hotel - private parking and 2 minutes from the centre - clean quiet and comfortable and all for £32 pp pn! Can't beat it
Review 62:Nothing.
Review 63:Comfortable, sparkling clean room, lovely spacious bathroom, great substantial breakfast, fantastic location on the edge of pedestrian area, quick journey from airport.
Review 64:Beware: When I returned home I received an email saying hotel chargedthe cost of an extra night without my permission as they said the roomwas "dirty" after a four night stay with a toddler!!
Review 65:We had 2 adjoining rooms. The double (for us adults) was small - whilst the kids' twin room was significantly larger! No air con.
Review 66:Great location. Secure parking. Helpful staff. Well worth buying the breakfast.
Review 67:Very friendly English Speaking staff, great central location with secure parking. Easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, market and sites. Comfortable rooms, nice public areas and a pretty garden and terrace.
Review 68:None
Review 69:It's right in the heart of a great tourist area, with a supermarket and many restaurants 2 minutes away. We were able to leave our huge rucksacks with the receptionist as we arrived too early to check in.
Review 70:Rooms were small & dark. Paid extra to upgrade to a room with more light, but there was no help available to carry luggage up the stairs.
Review 71:Location.
Review 72:For the money one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Tastefully done up, cool and relaxing. Great central location for tourism, eating and drinking but with plenty of rooms far away from the street, even a garden
Review 73:The garden furniture is awful and uncomfortable not to mention dangerous. if you lean back to far you can end up on the ground!!
Review 74:The hotel is well placed for easy access and a short walk to the centre of town and within easy walking distance of several restaurants. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful and the room well appointed with a pleasant view over the garden. All in all we were very satisfied and would recommend this hotel for one or more nights stay. We were warned that the sat nav would not work but ours did and we had no problem finding the hotel.
Review 75:We didn't stay for longer at this hotel.
Review 76:I stay at a lot of hotels throughout the year and this was one of the best. As we arrived, which was very easy to find, the receptionist came out to show us to the underground car park. The room was very good, clean and tidy with bath and shower. The room was very quiet and on the first floor. We had a lift which was clean and quick. The hotel was in the centre of the old part of the town and easy to get to all the events and restaurants. The following morning breakfast was excellent. For only e9.50 you could even have boiled eggs, coffee, tea, cereal, toast, orange juice, and much much more. We will come to this hotel again!
Review 77:Bedroom was quiet but we hearklaxon from street when Windows was opened
