Reviews for Lleiniog Holiday Cottages
Review 1:place was a bit of a building site. Decor was very dated and there was no wifi which was advertised.
Review 2:Nice area and left in peace and quiet which is what I wanted.
Review 3:Place is disgracefull, Wasted my journey there and my 17 month old had to spend 4 hours in a car as a result, The place needs knocking down. Greeted by a huge dog barking, damp and cold facilities, smashed windows, faulty electrics need I go on. The owner then had the cheek to demand that I pay her for the pleasure. Absolute disgrace. I have stayed in 1 star accomdation in europe that looked like palaces compared to what we walked into.
Review 4:It was a bit 'tired'-simple things could change the whole experience. Open fire or wood burner. T towels and small dish washer. WiFi. I was a little annoyed to be charged a further £24 on top for our well trained small dogs. We deliberately booked a cottage that allowed dogs but on filling the Booking.com forms we were unable to say 1 Labrador (old and quiet) and 2 very small dogs (all house trained).
Review 5:Lovely rural position. Friendly owner.
Review 6:The owner didnt welcome us, no idea how to get key to property, it was filthy, owners dog barked all day/night, oven didnt work so had to eat out when i had paid for self catering facilities
Review 7:the property was fairly close to town centre
Review 8:The signpost to the cottage is not very big and although we were rite at the cottages we past it 3 times... Keep your eyes peeled!
Review 9:A beautiful quaint little cottage that was ideal for all of us. The silence was perfect! We would defiantly love to stay again.
Review 10:Would have been handy if had Internet but sometimes good to get away from all that.
Review 11:The location was fantastic just over the road from the beach. Every thing you need and staff very friendly and helpful. Slept like a log.
Review 12:Downstairs windows painted shut. Bathroom door didn't fit and had to force shut. General h and s issues around house and site. Very dated decor and miss matched interiors.walls damp and peeling. No private garden for dog or sitting in. No hoover. No bedroom or bathroom bins etc. Think it would benefit being re inspected. Has huge potential.
Review 13:Location. Shower Kitchen
Review 14:Cleanliness, dirty fridge, dirty sponges, hair on sponge, shower dirty, didn't drain standing in 3 inches of water, no ironing board, no toilet paper. Floors not vaccumed properly.
Review 15:Minor quibble being one or two bits of usual kit not in kitchen, but no major concerns.
Review 16:Lovely, lovely family run business. Great homely feel. Beautiful location and setting.
Review 17:Views spoiled a bit by unfinished buildings opposite. Lots of cobwebs.
Review 18:The price and ease of booking. The location. It was quaint and compact. The owner was very helpful. Didn't see a single spider..
Review 19:Quiet location. Relaxed, easy-going atmosphere. Lovely family. Nice walks - beach and countryside. Lots of nice villages and towns nearby. Everything we needed for a comfortable few days.
Review 20:The Complex that the property is part of is looking a bit ramshackle, and the owners accommodation is obviously a 'work in progress'. Needed a bit more attention to detail with the cleanliness, but for the price paid was more than acceptable.
Review 21:For the price, I wasn't expecting too much, but 'The Bothy' was a Lovely quaint little property with plenty of charm. Ideally placed to explore Anglesey and Snowdonia, and within a 5 minute walk from the Sea. Plenty of places to eat only a 5 minute drive away.
Review 22:It was a little chilly as there was no heating and we needed more logs than we were provided but it was still a great stay!
Review 23:The location was perfect, close to towns and beaches
Review 24:Because the electric was pay by meter reading (25p/unit), we didn't use anything other than the preset night storage heaters, lights as and when, kettle, tv. However when our stay was over, we had accrued a £30 bill! We left feedback for the owner and she very kindly waived this, stating that the average was about £3.50, but I'd just rather pay a bit more rental and now have to worry about meter readings. What made it worse was that we were freezing the whole time we were there! Kettle is dodgy and you had to hold down the button to get it to boil, but otherwise we enjoyed our break.
Review 25:Lovely view, comfortable bed, good price, close to Beaumaris. Everything we needed for a short break.
Review 26:Could have done with more equipment in the kitchen (oven-gloves, ladle, colander, wooden spoon). Electricity was very expensive (storage heaters?)
Review 27:View Proximity to sea Cosy lounge area Comfortable beds
Review 28:We couldn't get the DVDs player to work, however it may have just been us
Review 29:Great location, amazing areas and views, we enjoyed sea trips, walks and crab fishing! The cottage is an ideal distance from Beaumaris. Great value for money also.
Review 30:Barnaby greeted us with the comment that the Granary was haunted. Definitely a case of too much information. We could not understand the electricity meter. One view from the main window of the straits is superb but the other of the back of the main house leaves a lot to be desired. On the whole good value.
Review 31:Fairly private and comfortable. Eating places in Beaumaris plentiful and good. Very efficient heating. Beds well aired with good linen.
Review 32:To begin with it was not a cottage. It was a flat called "the granary". It sat above what can only be described as a disused run down "garage." The only floor covering was a rug in the living area and vinyl tiles in kitchen area. The kitchen area had pet hairs. Kitchen units mismatched. Grubby dishcloth left on dish drainer. Wardrobe in master bedroom was a recess which had old net curtain as the "door."
Review 33:The location was excellent. Near all attractions yet quiet.
Review 34:Owner (Felicity) was very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was well equipped, spacious, and spotless. The view over the beach is stunning. This trip was too short. Planning on returning for longer next time to be able to really enjoy the area.
Review 35:The location for the beach and getting around Anglesey is excellent. The flat was basic and not to the best standard. It felt like a students flat! however for two nights only it was adequate. The two bedroom cottage next door was furnished to a much higher standard.
Review 36:The bathroom was a bit small ,but it was only a cottage and this fact didn't spoil our stay.
Review 37:lovely quiet location ,but close enough to Beaumaris and other places of interest, cottage was very quaint with a lovely log burner ,kitchen well equipped ,beds lovely and comfy and clean and fresh towels.we had a lovely time and would stay again.
Review 38:Nothing much we can think of.
Review 39:The relaxed feeling of the place and proximity to the nearby touristy spots. Comfortable bed. Being met by two friendly dogs. The resident dog Lira who visited us on departure. Friendly chook Penny
Review 40:I didn't dislike anything as such but could have done with a bell at the house gate to attract attention of owner.I also would have liked a chopping board in the kitchen and a smaller rug to access the fridge easier.
Review 41:The views over the Menai from the upstairs window were delightful. Friendly owner and peaceful location. Thank you Kind regards
Review 42:The furnishings within the living area were aiming for rustic but to us they just appeared in need of replacement. The curtains in the living area were terrible - poorly fitting and cheap. The kitchen, whilst been fully equiped was, again, poor on its quality and finish. Iwas also concerned at the price per unit of electricity which was surplus to our bill. No instuctions on how to use the storage units (and never come across before it was not easy). These cottages have so much potential as the rustic charm has been maintained in the building conversion but the furnishing lets it down badly
Review 43:the beds were exremely comfortable with high quality linen and the rustic charm of the bedrooms obvious. views to sea were fabulous. lots of parking and not hassled by staff
Review 44:Felicity the owner was very welcoming The property was clean and well equipt The location was fantastic, small secluded beach down the road Dog welcome
Review 45:The Granary from the outside is very unwelcoming compared to the other properties. The lower floor consists of an old workshop that is very cluttered dirty and unkempt this is not what you would expect on arrival as there is no photo on the website The Granary is on the second floor which is accessed by the side of the workshop. The lounge furniture is very outdated and needs updating. We were told there may be cobwebs due to the age of the building, but not as soon as we arrive. The Kitchen utensils had to be washed before being used, especially the pans which were covered in dust, there was no chopping board and nothing to sweep the floor to keep things tidy. The draining board was rusty and we wasn't able to use it.. The bathroom was small and needs some attention especially to the shower where there is mold. There was no information pack. We have always chosen self catering holidays and have never had any issues before.
Review 46:The closeness to the Menai Straits with lovely walks on the beach and surrounding area. The bedrooms in the Granary were comfortable with nice clean linen and towels.
Review 47:The driveway/road to the cottage is located off the main road, so it's a little bit of a trouble to find in the dark. Try to get to the cottage the first time before the sun sets so you can see where it is. After the first time -- it's easy to notice.
Review 48:The bedrooms are spacious and the kitchen was wonderful! There are plenty of chairs around the table for a comfy meal time. The front room has 2 couches. It's a place to be relaxed for sure! It's easy to find your way to town and the post office/grocery store. The bread for sale at the post office is WONDERFUL! The eggs (fresh from the cottage owner's chicken, Henny Penny) are FANTASTIC! Get some eggs while you are there!!
Review 49:The cottage was very smelly, every drawer / cupboard opened presented you with a smell of damp- furniture and rooms were also smelly. The bathroom had a smell of stale urine. Furniture was old/musty and mismatched and I felt I needed to wash after sitting on the futon. The property needs a complete make over and refurnishing to warrant the cost. There are numerous holes in the walls and floors , damp plaster, dirty skirting boards, filthy carpets some with holes and very old mattresses. The wallpaper in parts is coming away from the walls. There were copious amounts of shampoos, soaps etc from previous clients all adorning the bathroom window sill. The fan in the bathroom does not work and the shower tray does not drain properly. There are only a few windows that open , many are painted shut and those that do open will not close, not welcome when you are in a very musty property which needs airing. The fridge froze most of what was kept in it and the microwave was from the arc. The garden advertised in the literature was a 10ft square piece of grass between 2 buildings, we had hoped to relax in the garden with our dogs but were unable to do so. There is also no sea view , however hard we tried , despite being advertised in the literature. Certainly no home from home for us.

Review 80:Paying extra for electricity
Review 81:Liked the location
Review 82:The cottage was Idyllic, beautiful location great for getting about and exploring, views magnificent. Perfect peace and quiet.
Review 83:The bathroom being seperate from bedrooms. Like an obstacle course in the dark.
Review 84:Furnishing and general "cottagy" feel
Review 85:Going home!
Review 86:It was a nice relaxing holiday with beautiful scenery in a conservation area. Nice friendly people.
Review 87:Totally relaxed break with the most friendly and accommodating proprietor in a charming setting that met all our requirements
Review 88:I cannot rate the facilities, location and friendly welcome highly enough to do Lleniog cottages justice. Felicity (the owner) was the perfect balance between friendly and welcoming but also letting the guests have the freedom of the beautiful surroundings. It was lovely having a 'home from home' while away, and the Bothy was perfect for my husband and I and my parents to relax in while taking a break from exploring the stunning local scenery on Anglesey. The Bothy was well equipped with every convenience you'd find at home, and the facilities were spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished in a mix of modern convenience and beautiful antiques. Felicity was also a wealth of local knowledge and told us about several local walks and beauty spots, and thanks to her help my parents found the ruins of the local castle hidden in the woods only a short way from the cottages. There is also a lovely bay just across the road from the cottages with stunning views in every direction, and the peace and quiet everywhere was just wonderful. I sat outside every evening on the provided patio furniture and just marvelled at the silence! The only sounds came from the sheep bleating in the distance, the birds singing in the trees and the water lapping at the shore. Our three nights at Lleniog holiday cottages was nowhere near long enough and we shall definitely be back! It's also important to mention how incredibly good value for money the cottages are. You won't find anything better locally in my opinion.
Review 89:We were attending a friend's wedding "next-door" at Tros Yr Afon and we were delighted with The Bothy cottage and view. Our host made us feel very welcome and everything was clean and comfortable. The cottage was well-equipped and there were beautiful fresh flowers decorating the table. The area is criss-crossed with paths and we were able to visit the castle ruins hidden in the adjacent woods and a short drive away there are medieval abbey ruins, an impressive dovecote and a lighthouse with a bell ringing dolefully across the sea as well as coastal walks with spectacular views. We will definitely come back again to explore more of Anglesey.
Review 90:Stairs - but that' s my fault - they were a bit narrow for me.
Review 91:Location, size of house. Ease for touring island and sailing. Comfy beds. Quirky furniture and crockery, abundance of kitchen appliances. There was both bath and shower. Towel supplied and cleaning stuff. Interesting artwork. Good supply of books and games and TV. Friendly family.
Review 92:We cleaned the cookware becasue it was not clean enough. \there is no note on the info that you need to pay for the electricity. Write down the beginning and the end numbers for this or you get to pay a fee of 10 pounds a day. Take this note with the numbers with you in copy, the cleaning lady will throw it away. Outside there are some ruins you look at on the property.
Review 93:There was enough room for the two of us, Inside it was good. Clean bed and towels.
Review 94:Very difficult to find, especially for foreign peoples... Even GPS is helpless. But it's easy to fix :)
Review 95:All ! Excellent service, wonderful place, cozy house. Thank you very much!
Review 96:In the future this could be quite nice but currently the site is under renovation. The Bothy were we stayed was rustic, furnished with charity shop furniture. We were cold and uncomfortable, you have to pay extra for electricity and although there was a wood stove there was only enough wood for one fire so we had to return to town to find and purchase more. There isn't any signage for the cottages nor was anyone available to help us when we finally found them, if you go here you need to be self sufficient.
Review 97:The living room is nice with the stone walls painted white and the exposed beams.
Review 98:I have just returned from a weekend at Lleiniog cottages staying in The Bothy. It was a perfectly quaint cottage- cosy, comfortable& well furnished .the photos on the web sites do not do this cottage justice . It is charming & quaint & a pleasure to stay in . The kitchen was very well equipped just like home from home , with every pan , knife etc I needed to cook a great meal , all was spotlessly clean . The bed was comfy & the log fire blasted out the heat. The location was perfect for unspoilt scenery in every direction. The proprietor Mrs Elphick was a charming hostess & left me a birthday card & bottle of wine & said as there were no guests the morning we checked out we could have a long lie in if we wanted. I look forward to a return visit.
Review 99:No central heating so had to use electric radiators and log burner which did not throw out much heat and had to go out and buy fuel considering it would sleep 5 adults bathroom facilities were poor
Review 100:Location was excellent being so close to sea and with views of Snowdonia
Review 101:We really enjoyed the location and the very friendly welcome we received. Now going to buy a wood burner as we where so impressed.Looking forward to the next time we visit.
Review 102:Stayed here for a couple of days during Christmas. The cottage was lovely and comfortable with everything we needed in there. Would definitely stay again - fantastic base for a stay on the island.
Review 103:Quirky and individual property with friendly owners.
Review 104:Long walk to town on roads if you leave car at the cottage.
Review 105:Nice place, plenty of room for 4 adults and a child. Beautiful countryside.
Review 106:Beautiful location and stunning views.
Review 107:Beautiful location, just next to the beach, fantastic views of Snowdonia from the cottage
Review 108:Lack of heating, accomodation very cold Kitchen slighty grubby Priced too high over Christmas
Review 109:Location
