Reviews for Pierre & Vacances L'Ours Blanc
Review 1:Some of the rooms are a bit tired and need updating ,(carpets worn and stained , paint work needing redone )we refused 2 rooms before we got one that was liveable!
Review 2:The reception staff were excellent and very helpful , the free bus to the slopes stops just outside if you don't feel up to a short walk.
Review 3:The apartments need renovation urgently!!! They look old and neglected. It's our third time and we are considering find another place. We were giving, at first, a unit that was in terrible shape on the 5th floor by the "poubelle". The lady at the reception was kind enough to change unit for us and coincidently we got the same apartment we stayed 7 years ago.
Review 4:the staff
Review 5:The noise from the other guests and the pubs close by was horrendous. Lasted until 0600-0800. I eventually checked out early lost the money all for a good night's sleep.
Review 6:Location. Simple but nice accommodation
Review 7:Poo in the lift, was left in there for over 12 hours, meaning lift stankfor the rest of the weekContacted the hotel numerous times about getting rooms on the same floor (were booked at the same time) - at least 8 requests and NO response Staff were rude and unhelpfull Rooms we were given were NOT representative of the photos on the webiste
Review 8:The first response I got upon my arrival, it could have been much more cooperative.
Review 9:I found the location of the hotel its best attribute, other than that it is a normal hotel.
Review 10:The apartment was dirty with a sticky kitchen floor. My wife found a medecine syringe for children underneath the bed. Paint was flaking off the walls which themselves had chunks out of them to the plasterboard throughout the flat. The sheets provided had a series of holes in them and in one a clothes moth had been pressed along with the sheet itself. I have a series of insect bites from the bed which themselves, once you lie in them, smell of other people's sweat. the rest of the building was also similarly broken down, damaged and dirty. It was the single worst and most insulting customer experience I've ever had. Very Very poor value for money and unsanitary.
Review 11:Only two rings worked on the hob , limited what I could cook. Room also needs a toaster (I missed having toast in the mornings ! Having to make our beds on arrival . Rooms in need of renovation .
Review 12:Location brilliant . Staff friendly and helpful . Free use of pool and ice rink .
Review 13:Our booking was for a "2 bedroom unit" but in actual fact we only got a small 1 bedroom unit so the third person had to sleep in the lounge. Also from our booking we understood that there was a swimming pool but it was actually a public pool down the road. On our arrival there when we drove down to the carpark we were not able to go through the barrier arms so one of us had to stay in the car (impossible to reverse there) and catch a lift up to reception to book in before being able to use to the parking building. Would be better to have some sort of intercom there or a sign on the road saying people must check in before driving to the carpark.
Review 14:The view out over the mountains.
Review 15:Occasionally the party goers outside the hotel make noise on their way home at 2am which can be annoying - but I am a light sleeper. This is nobody's fault though.
Review 16:having a bath in the apartment with lots and lots of hot water whenever we wanted. The beds are also very comfortable.
Review 17:Kitchen facility very basic electric hob and microwave no oven. Bathroom in room 305 needs refurbishing, Arrived to find the coffee table in several bits just left in the room. Have to make up your own beds, can understand the bed-settee but expect other beds to be made.
Review 18:great view from the balcony and ski bus stops outside
Review 19:Very small room with double bed in it was gif 5 people but 3 had to sleep on sofa with one pull out bed
Review 20:Bus stop outside, kitchen Ok with dish washer and microwave and good hob
Review 21:Cleanliness of the room on arrival was disappointing. There is a lack of living space when having to use the double sofa bed in the living room. Would recommend getting a large enough apartment where you don't need to use the sofa bed for sleeping.
Review 22:Good location for the restaurants and facilities in town. Excellent wifi, at a price.
Review 23:place was filthy on arrival. Radiator hanging off the wall then the dishwasher leaked all over the floor. Staff didn't want to know. It was eventually sorted but the staff were very rude and disinterested. Supposed to be three bedrooms but had 2 bedrooms and one pull out bed in the kitchen come lounge room come dining room. Very cramped conditions. Bathroom smelled of wee. Strange looking stains all over the place. Had to eat out all the time which was hugely expensive because the conditions were not suitable for self catering. All in all a horrible experience that we wouldn't repeat.
Review 24:location and view from balcony was the only redeeming feature
Review 25:No extractor fan with a sensitive smoke detector means no real cooking can be undertaken - so if you're happy heating things from jars ok, if small. But if you intend to cook food forget it! Too far from pistes / awkward to get to them too.
Review 26:Staff were helpful
Review 27:The hotel and all its best viewed rooms are on top of a disco which plays thumping music from 10 - 2 am. You will not sleep in Room 545 or any ones similarly positioned. Don't stay below floor 8! General Manager Mr Zaccarini is poor and disappeared when he promised to stay and see us in 30 minutes. Car park too small and entrance / exit restrictive for family cars. Ski locker has no heating. General meet and registration is poor. Information provided on locality is poor, we missed town fireworks display and similar as there was no notice, etc.
Review 28:Good central location Ski bus collection directly outdoors
Review 29:The mattress of the 5th bed was too soft to sleep in it! Neighbors of the above apartment sometimes noisy during the evening (poor acoustic isolation of building).
Review 30:Apartment well equipped; very good location; quite clean.
Review 31:no free internet poor room set up single beds only paid parked but we later found it was not necessary long long walk from parking and reception to rooms
Review 32:location, view to die for,
Review 33:The wifi had to be paid for and the signal was poor in the apartment and kept dropping out. There was a dishwasher in the room which was great but to be honest a small washing machine would have been better for all the cycling kit we had. A DVD option within the TV would have been great but certainly not essential or a criticism.
Review 34:It was convenient, good value for money and served the exact purpose we needed.
Review 35:Luckily only two of us went as room was equipped for 4 persons and advertised as 4 person apartment but would of been to cramped for four with bikes and gear. A washing machine for clothes would of been more usefully than the dishwasher provided. I think all hotels now should provide free WiFi
Review 36:Perfect for the mega as me and mate could keep bikes in apartment. Central location to shops, sports centre ( sign on ) and ski lift. Great eating out restaurants and take a ways just outside main entrance in mall
Review 37:Apartment could have been cleaner.
Review 38:Central location, balcony, lovely views.
Review 39:The pillow and quilt are not comfortable.
Review 40:Nice apartment with kitchen
Review 41:No washing machine.
Review 42:Good location. Helpful staff.
Review 43:Like most places here, they attempt to cram a lot of people into a small space!
Review 44:This is a great place to stay when skiing or mountain biking.
Review 45:Noise from other gusts and lack of 24 hour reception to deal with it.
Review 46:location
Review 47:Very helpful staff Location 300m walk to nearest ski lift. If using hotel car park beware steep ramps and high kerbs (dented cills!)
Review 48:Local to almost everything
Review 49:Location.
Review 50:Nothing in particular
Review 51:Nice and central
Review 52:Wi-Fi should be free. Some rooms need refurbishment as they look tired. Not near the lifts/slopes.
Review 53:Convenient for shops/restaurants.
Review 54:some ultra small rooms
Review 55:Fantastic view
Review 56:The ski room is really poor. The light is on a timer, which lasts about 30 seconds, and as any skier knows you need about 3/4 minutes to put on your boots, etc.The room is also very narrow which makes it very unpleasant to try and get your stuff. We avoided this place as much as possible.
Review 57:Good location. Right beside the shuttle bus stop for transfer to slopes. Close to all shops and restaurants.
Review 58:Bed was broken, flush system didnt work in one of the toilets, and ran constantly. Could do with upgrading slightly. I would go back to the accommodation again, but will not only because of the rudeness of the French nationals of D'Huez. The French treat the English quite rudely, they want our money but not us. I won't go back. Accommodation was good though .... :-)
Review 59:Location and having staff available all the time, even though we didn;t need them. Ski lockers. The place is overall quite nice and I would go back and use them again,
Review 60:The rubbish left by others in the corridors so you couldn't passwith a buggy. Being kept awake all night by party goers returning, shouting etc at 4am. They should put families in area and young groupsseparately.
Review 61:Position was good for shops/restaurants.
Review 62:The hotel was in olved with a university ski trip of 1500 stunts in total to the resort. The hotel had a percentage of the students staying. It was a horrendous experience, we were kept up till 05.00 am by students rampaging up and down the corridor outside our room. Despite telling them off till we were blue in the face the hotel did nothing, they had a security man who was quite rightly nervous of 20 or 30 drunken english louts. In the end after 3 sleepless nights we were given other rooms and had the upheaval of moving. In our opinion the students should have been evicted from the hotel. Their behaviour was disgusting, they are an embarassment to their university ( university of Durham) and an embarassment to english young people. The hotel offered us 2 free nights stay after the students had left but by that time we had lost 3 days skiing due to no sleep. Too little was done too late.
Review 63:Automatic lights in the ski lockers didn't give enough time to get ready and the switches were too far from some lockers.
Review 64:Central location within the resort. The apartment was very comfortable with great views of the alps.
Review 65:Rooms of varying sizes even within each category. We had three nights ina room by the lift with students partying till 5 am on our floor. After3 nights hotel moved us to another floor much quieter and slightlybigger room . Had asked to be advised after first night when anotherroom became free but had to complain to manager after third night tofinally be moved. Not hotels fault re noisy English university studentsalthough they could have kept them altogether on one floor.
Review 66:Good location, small apartments but well kitted out for self catering.Dishwasher microwave etc plenty of pans etc. Starter cleaning kitbedding towels etc Good location in centre of town five minutes walk toski lifts and ski bus stop right outside.
Review 67:Having to pay for wifi. Rooms are very small, we had to book a 6 person for 4 adults. An Oven would have been useful for cooking. Instructions for the Microwave/Grill would have also been useful.
Review 68:Good Value, clean rooms. Quiet nights.
Review 69:We were not able to ski in & out of the apartment. There was no oven inthe apartment only a microwave and for a family of five was a bitinconvenient.
Review 70:The apartment was very well laid out, clean & very close to all localshops. There was a courtesy bus which stopped just outside ourapartment, which took us to the main ski slopes. View from the balconywas amazing. Relatively close to a ski lift also. Dishwasher & finalcleaning thrown into the price also.
Review 71:Dishwasher didn't work.
Review 72:Great room - everything you need.
Review 73:Great stay, great location.
Review 74:Rooms were quite small and the heating was hard to control making the room quite stuffy.
Review 75:Good quiet location that was good for us with a young child
Review 76:Accommodation cramped
Review 77:Good location, convenient for slopes and other amenities.
Review 78:Location Being able to store bikes in room Helpful staff
Review 79:My credit card charged twice for one booking, paid for wifi and signal strength in area is very poor
Review 80:Nice and close to areas I needed to get too
Review 81:The bagagerie as some of our belongings were stolen!- Please lock it infuture Having to pay for wi-fi
Review 82:Room upgrade at no extra cost
Review 83:Room layouts are not suitable for the privacy of the number of adults catered for.
Review 84:Central location
Review 85:walk to slopes
Review 86:central location
Review 87:The hotel is worn down. Water in the bathroom was continously brown onthe second day of stay.
Review 88:Location
Review 89:Room was very old and tired and in some area's falling apart.
Review 90:Location, staff, reception, cleanliness.
Review 91:I found toenail clippings in my bed which was not the nicest start to my stay!
Review 92:The room was a little small, but the great location made up for it.
Review 93:The location was perfect for access to the mountain.
Review 94:No internet there was common wi-fi city net but almost no coverage andexpensive. I consider internet must be free in hotels
Review 95:Over priced.! Old. Loud!
Review 96:Water pressure in the shower. Big fridge. My girlfriend loved thedish washer...
