Reviews for Ye Olde Bulls Head Inn & Townhouse

Review 1:Townhouse location over the rd from the Inn Decoration in Townhouse horrible Lights in room complicated No fridge- had to run over road in morning to refill flask as milk had gone of Staff unhelpful.. Esp with travel information as there were road closures, storms and flooding and the staff had NO information at all

Review 2:The bath room and the location in Beaumauris

Review 3:Very noisy fan of some description from the bathrooms all through the night. Couldn't turn it off. Seemed to be linked to air conditioning.

Review 4:Beautiful rooms & facilities. Very spacious accessible room with fabulous 2 bathrooms which allowed the carer to have some added luxury too!

Review 5:Parking not on site and had to pay. Air con noisy; unusually warm Autumn weather meant we could have done with using it. Couldn't open window as we were on the main road. Frosted window from bathroom into bedroom looked great but lit bedroom up if you needed the loo in the night!

Review 6:Lovely style and decoration of room. Staff accommodating and helpful.

Review 7:Nothing to fault

Review 8:We were going to zip world on 25th October & chose this hotel. I would like to say a huge thank you to all for their kindness during our stay. Every member of staff are friendly & very welcoming with outstanding service in all areas. The rooms are immaculate with everything to detail, very impressive. A massive thank you to the chef, our food in the restaurant was plentiful & scrumptious :-) Beaumaris is a quaint & beautiful place to see & I am looking forward to a return visit.

Review 9:The. Reception staff and bar staff where not very friendly or welcoming. We stayed in the Pearl room which was a large double and although very nice, the windows rattled all night long until we put c as record in them to keep them still. We were not asked if we had an enjoyable stay...the lady on reception answered the phone whilst we were waiting.. Dealt with that then came back to us...I would like to say I would stay here again but certain aspects really let this place down.

Review 10:The evening meal in the brasserie was excellent not cheap but very good value for money However to be really really picky we felt that breakfast at £12 50 was marginally overpriced. This is offered as a comment not a criticism

Review 11:I am disabled~when I told them this we were allocated a ground floor room and a reserved parking place. We are quite old and have B&Bd extensivly in the Uk over many years and we can not recall a nicer room and great food. What more do you want?.

Review 12:Parking is restricted No desk-chair

Review 13:Comfortable room and spacious, well-equipped bathroom Characterful bar with well-kept real ale Good quality food A short walk to wonderful views of the Menai Straits and Snowdonia Friendly, helpful staff

Review 14:Would have like to use the restaurant but could not access it.

Review 15:The brasserie staff were excellent as were the reception staff. A disabled /accessible room was not available but the staff were very accommodating when necessary.

Review 16:The Annexe is modern, spacious, and clean. The breakfast are excellent. Stayed twice now and it is head and shoulders above anywhere else in Beaumaris and well worth the extra cost.

Review 17:There was only a little milk in the flask each day. It could of been filled to the top

Review 18:The room was lovely and spacious. Nicely decorated in the scarlet room. I liked the shortbread biscuits.

Review 19:I travelled with my elderly mother so the Clemintin room was perfect as it had a wet room and a bathroom. It was also very spacious and it was possible to open a window. The staff were very professional, courteous and friendly.

Review 20:Food at Bistro really good but table was a squeeze job. This meant we ate elsewhere for subsequent nights. Car had to be parked 5 minutes away in an open air public carpark.

Review 21:Well appointed room and great wifi access from the room

Review 22:The free wifi cannot even cope with sending or receiving basic emails. The bedroom could do with a curtain rather just a blind, it was very light in the room from 5am!

Review 23:Location is excellent and the quality of the bedrooms is a very high standard

Review 24:Staff very friendly and professional, we stayed in the townhouse, the room was very spacious and well thought out, it had a his and hers sink, the shower very powerful.

Review 25:Lack of parking. Wifi signal not particularly good.

Review 26:Fabulous modern room which was beautifully decorated. Good facilities in the room including fresh milk. Good location.

Review 27:The only negative was that the pillows weren't firm enough!

Review 28:Hotel was lovely, only stayed for one night as doing the zip wire early. Room was huge and so was the bathroom really pleased

Review 29:The fact that there were no parking arangments. You had to keep fee going parking meters.

Review 30:The rooms were very comfortable. The bar had a nice ambiances?

Review 31:Parking was restrictive and there was a marked difference between the service on Friday and Saturday for the breakfast which was a shame as we had been very impressed with the hotel up until Saturday. The breakfast we felt was also quite pricey.

Review 32:The rooms were very quiet in the town house and the beds extremely comfortable. The facilities were good and the staff extremely friendly. No traffic noise was also a bonus.

Review 33:Finding somewhere to park to unload luggage bit of a pain!!

Review 34:The modern interior of the rooms in the Town house and comfort of the bed. Lovely to have fresh milk left in a flask as part of the tea making facilities in the room.

Review 35:This was the hottest week of the year 28 degrees. We stayed top floor. Air conditioning broken. Asked reception to fix it as it was incredibly hot at night but sadly they didn't. Was glad to go home.

Review 36:A modern room and bathroom. Molton brown products.

Review 37:Hotel room was excellent. The TownHouse was just a fab place to stay. Food was also excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly and always ready to please.

Review 38:The room we had was completely unexpected but brilliant. We were in the Townhouse, very modern, spacious, great facilities Staff were very welcoming and accommodating, breakfast was delicious and the bar is lovely old with a great choice of drinks!

Review 39:Slightly noisy as on Main Street but not too bad. Didn't appreciate being awoken by night reception at 12.20am but assume that was an unfortunate one-off.

Review 40:Fabulous contemporary bedroom (ask to stay in the Townhouse, not the actual Inn), very clean and nicely decorate. Great location. Didn't eat in the Inn but the brasserie did look nice. Comfortable and relaxing residents lounge.

Review 41:The room was in a building across the street however as the weather was fine was not a problem. BUT, the air conditioning did not work and the room was like a sauna. This spoilt our stay.

Review 42:Loveley room. Good food.

Review 43:My partner and I agreed this was the best hotel room we have ever stayed in. We stay a lot in London have stayed in white a few hotels. We thought it was going to be an average hotel. We where amazed the place is steeped in history. Its been an inn since 1472. The lounge is absolutely beautiful, take a look on booking.com. The lounge has the original fireplace with the date on it. We stayed in the Townhouse which is on the other side of the rd. It is very contempory. Are room was called Sky, as it was blue. It was fabulous, the bathroom was amazing. We also had doors we could go out into a courtyard, never had that before. We ate here also in the contempory restaurant, the food was very good. I had belly prok it was gorgous. This really is the place to stay in Beumaris.

Review 44:The bathroom door could not be propped open, and there was no fan in the bathroom, so it was quite damp in there after showering. The only breakfast option was a full English one at 25 GBP--pricey, especially if you don't want a large breakfast.

Review 45:The room was spacious, very comfortable, and very clean. The facilities of the hotel and its location were excellent. Lovely meal at the Brasserie, and the pub atmosphere is cozy.

Review 46:The was a lot of noise in the room at 6.00am, seemed like a washing machine, could have been aircon but we purposefully didn't have it on in our room

Review 47:The bath! deep, hot water, tap in the middle. Cup of hot chocolate whilst soaking, luxury!

Review 48:There was a fluorescent strip around the window which made sleeping a bit difficult. This was the case for all the street-facing rooms. The bathroom door was a strange sliding affair and it didn't shut properly or lock. Small points that didn't spoil the stay.

Review 49:Room was overall well appointed. Location was good.

Review 50:I was in the annexe/townhouse and the room I had was "Scarlet" which was very large and well appointed with it's own courtyard but I will not use this room again. It is obviously near the laundry room and the last thing I was aware of before going to sleep at nearly midnight, and the first thing after waking/being awoken at 5.30 a.m., was the interminable noise of a washing machine starting and finishing it's spin cycle.

Review 51:I have stayed here several times and the high standards and friendly staff remain constant. The ambience is good with real fires in the bar and bistro and the food was as good as always. Will definitely be staying again, but.....

Review 52:quite pricey .Didnt like the fact of the bathroom window not having a blackout blind,no privacy from pedestrians walking past on street below after dark .

Review 53:very clean and comfortable, pleasant staff.

Review 54:Barman needed reminding more than once that a pint of beer does not have a 3cm head on it.

Review 55:Very smart room in the adjoining Town House. The Bull itself is a great old coaching inn.

Review 56:Although a guest to many people crowded in down staires resturant hard fir guest to get table esp bank holiday we booked table for 8 15 no one came to tel us at 9 so went to hotel across road

Review 57:Resterant decor and room very high standerd

Review 58:Breakfasts were odd - croissants promised but not available, had to sit at designated table, when only one another couple was there, it took fifteen minutes for scrambled eggs and two massively over-cooked sausages to arrive.

Review 59:Large, comfortable and well-equipped bedroom. Choice of fine dining or brasserie. Real fires.

Review 60:Breakfast was not included and was an additional £12.95

Review 61:Our room was really nice and very spacious. The bed was really comfortable. Would visit again!

Review 62:Brasserie menu a bit limited, also fine dining restaurant onsite £47.50 for three courses which we thought was expensive. Breakfast choice limited if you do not want a cooked breakfast. Would like to see a lower priced continental option. The pub itself looked dated and in need of refresh.

Review 63:Huge bed and bathroom with large bath, shower overhead 2 sinks. We stayed in 'Sky' on ground floor, small enclosed patio through French doors. Very good quality linens, furniture and fittings. Good wi fi signal in our room but friends stayed in 'Cream' on second floor and could not get online. Fast lift to all floors in townhouse, only thing missing was a fridge in the room.

Review 64:Breakfast not served till 0730 and I needed to leave at 0730. The hotel brought me a tray the night before (muesli, yogurt, fruit, milk, bread, preserves) so I was looked after - but it's not as good as being able to have hot toast in a restaurant.

Review 65:Friendliness of the staff, comfort of the bed, quality of the food (I recommend the Hot Smoked Haddock starter and the Duck Breast main course). It was altogether a very good experience even though I was working.

Review 66:none

Review 67:Relaxing envirionment, good real ale open coal fire in olde worldy pub. Amazing quality of food in the restarant and good attention to detail all over the property.

Review 68:We stayed in the Town House which is just across the road - card key access - lovely, modern, spacious room and ensuite - all named after colours ours was the Cream room. We ate in both the restaurants on site both evenings very different in style to each other but food was very good in each - and of course a nice bottle of wine and a very short stroll back to our room. Oh and Anglesey is really nice too.

Review 69:Food was great, breakfast worth it. Also dined in the brasserie. Stayed on third floor of townhouse, very quiet Comfortable stay, attentive staff.

Review 70:Nothing!

Review 71:Helpful staff, really funky modern decor in the hotel room with beautiful bathroom and very comfortable bed, a real 5 star experience. Would absolutely recommend it as the place to stay in Beaumaris.

Review 72:There was an irritating noise coming from the air con vent that meant we couldn't use it whilst sleeping so the room became very hot. We couldn't open the windows because of the noise coming from the high street as the room was above the shop.

Review 73:We liked the room, Wifi, toiletries, tea/coffee, bed linen, power shower and ease of access. The pub was charming with a good selection of beers and wines.

Review 74:Being ordered out of the car park as apparently townhouse rooms are not entitled to park there. Difficult street parking so ended up having to pay £3.00 to park on the open space on the front by the sea. Breakfast was very slow and poorly cooked but they were quick to refund two of our four breakfast costs and times before it has not been a problem. Being unable to fully close the secondary double glazing to shut out street noise as they have put stoppers into the frames to keep the windows open

Review 75:Rooms in the townhouse are lovely bright and well appointed. Dinner in the brasserie was good with locally sourced choices.Nice roaring log fires suitable for our October evening.

Review 76:No parking at hotel and the outside sign was banging all night due to the wind and this kept waking us up.

Review 77:The restaurants and bar, spacious room at the townhouse and central location. Great staff.

Review 78:Breakfast was ok, for £12.50 maybe a bit pricey for what we had and they got they struggled with boiled eggs whcih were very undercooked but they were good about dealing with it

Review 79:Staff were friendly, we were in the townhouse which is modern decor but nice. Room was big and bathroom huge. Location on the front was good

Review 80:No parking whatsoever. As I have heart disability desk arranged a space in tiny courtyard, very kindly, but it was almost impossible to manoevre in and out. A wet night with luggage to carry in from a distance would be very off putting. Staff were fair but no sense of meaningful welcome or warmth and felt a bit like an intruder. Price on high side (expensive area generally) but breakfast extra at 12.50 sterling encouraged us to find it elsewhere.

Review 81:Room clean and modern and very quiet. Bed very comfortable; well appointed. Room in separate building across street.

Review 82:Lack of parking facilities

Review 83:The food standard in the Loft Restaurant was excellent, although the menu in the Bistro was unimaginative and there were too many spicy items.

Review 84:Parking was a way form the hotel but did not cause a problem, might do so if you were there for more than a short break.

Review 85:Room was sapcious and clean with excellent bathroom. Position of the hotel is central for town.

Review 86:only staying one night ! but we will return soon.return!!

Review 87:we stayed in the townhouse, the standard was superb we were absolutely delighted, we had the nicest room, which room that was will have to remain our secret !

Review 88:....to echo a famous guest, Charles Dickens, "Please sit can we have some more?" We loved the mixture if very old and very modern, Inn and modern Townhouse conversion. Food better than gruel too....

Review 89:Wifi is a joke in the town house, we couldn't get a signal at all. Also the room we stayed in "cream", however beautiful and wellappointed is was could have done with a bit of a touch up here andthere. Paint flaking in a corner, rub marks on the bottom of doors etc.Parking is an issue but if you park on the carpark opposite and comeback after 6pm you only pay £1 as opposed to the £3 all day.

Review 90:We were surprised to learn we were in the town house and after theinitial shock of entering a room the polar opposite of the look/feelof the exterior and main building, we soon fell in love with it. If youcan get your head around the ultra modern and stylish fittings andlayout you will love the place. The bathroom was enormous andbeautifully designed. His and hers sinks, very large tub, absolutelyexcellent. The breakfast was good and the staff were very polite allsave for one young receptionist who definitely didn't want to bethere. The location couldn't hand been handier and the room was veryquiet. We loved the stay and will return...

Review 91:No parking at the hotel.

Review 92:Big comfortable bed. Quality linen and towels. Molton Brown soap and shampoo etc. Lovely room but a bit claustrophobic. Wonderful for a short stay.

Review 93:I think breakfast should be included in the price and more details about the parking.

Review 94:Central and easy to find. Near shops and beach etc. Bed and pillows really comfortable and clean. Staff in breakfast were friendly and helpful.

Review 95:no fridge for milk etc for tea and coffee, so silver thermos of milk provided was sour by the following morning

Review 96:great sized room, comfy bed and chairs, spacious and pristine bathroom. really luxury feel to the hotel

Review 97:Dinner in the brasserie was poor. Need a new chef! Too many flavours in one dish. Breakfast was good, but expensive.

Review 98:Pleasant hotel, helpful staff and a nice room in the original building. Initially offered a room in the annex. We were told that all booking.com clients are given these rooms. Needs looking into.

Review 99:Would have been good if we could have opened the bedroom window.

Review 100:Very comfortable accommodation and excellent food and drink.

Review 101:The beautiful rooms, including the sitting room and the pub which was full of nooks and crannies offering areas for warm cosy chats....

Review 102:Spacious room, very clean with good facilities

Review 103:Good lounge, bar and excellent food.

Review 104:What a very pleasant place. Couldn't fault it! Would recommend it to anyone!

Review 105:The staff were friendly, informative and helpfull. The room was spacious, light and airy with excellent facilities.

Review 106:the rooms were lovely comfortable large and clean. the loft restaurant also very good super food.

Review 107:Friendly welcoming staff....beautiful building.

Review 108:Music bit too loud in brasserie.

Review 109:Comfortable bedroom. Lovely pub, brasserie good.

Review 110:Excellent accomodation, spotlesley clean and helpful staff

Review 111:Very spacious accommodation and a modern referbishment. The residents lounge was comfortable with open fire as a welcome focuse.

Review 112:parking inconvenient bare room price was a little high

Review 113:standard of room good food nice bar

Review 114:Nothing to play music on in room

Review 115:Lovely big room

Review 116:Comfortable rooms and friendly staff. The hotel was in a lovely location.

Review 117:Comfortable nice log fire and good food

Review 118:All good!

Review 119:Excellent room in the Townhouse. Very good meal in the Brasserie

Review 120:Lovely atmosphere in the place, great location friendly staff could not fault the place at all

Review 121:Fabulous accommodation, friendly staff, stayed here before and will do again.

Review 122:No way of blocking out light from the windows so had very poor nights' sleep.

Review 123:Big room and big bed

Review 124:The staff are great and the location excellent.

Review 125:No teaspoons and no toast with breakfast

Review 126:Very comfortable and great food
