Reviews for Astrid
Review 1:* the bed was very close to the wall on one side, which was rather unpractical * rather small elevator, only just bit enough for two people with luggage
Review 2:* very friendly staff * good location across the train station and only 10 minutes away (on foot) from the historical center of Rouen * clean room and bathroom * good breakfast given the price of € 7,5 pp * good overall quality for only € 48 (2 pers. 1 night, excl. breakfast)
Review 3:Basic accommodation, but at a fair price. Excellent location, right opposite railway station. Breakfast is typical continental, but had no complaints.. Some of the rooms are on the small size. Room 7 has a nice size bathroom.
Review 4:Dangerous neighborhood. Lock not secure on our room door- stranger wandered in late at night "exploring". Desk clerk was unconcerned - acted like if was normal. Horrid place. Flophouse?
Review 5:Near train station
Review 6:There was a hot water problem. Staff did not believe us it took a day for her to reset the central heater.
Review 7:Just out side of hotel there are many restaurants and a subway. Wifi is good. Sheets, pillows and carpet was properly clean. Personnel was so friendly. Breakfast was generous. Location was great just couple steps away from the train station.
Review 8:The small room for the 3rd person was completely windtight and the window couldn't be opened. It's really hot inside the room in the summer. And the shower head was totally broken. It couldn't be installed in the right place.
Review 9:The location is perfect. It's just located in the opposite of the Gare Rouen Rive Droite. Really really convenient to the center and the old city.
Review 10:Very good location if you have a train leaving early in the morning. Also close to the city center - 10-15 minutes by foot. Clean, spacious room and bathroom.
Review 11:Bathroom is so small the distance from the pan to the wall is under 20cm you will need to sit sideways. Other guests smoking. Parking prices at the station opposite are out of date.
Review 12:Location is great.
Review 13:This was my second stay at this hotel, and I recommended it to my friends without hesitation. Central location, nice parking at the railway station, walking distance to historical downtown, cozy and comfortable rooms. Perfect.
Review 14:1.Noises from the street and from other rooms. 2.Very small washroom.
Review 15:1.Excellent location: very close to train station and walking distance to most major attractions. 2.Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 16:Directions to the hotel disgraceful, even locals did not know how to find you so we spent an hour in the rain searching. The mattress was so worn out the springs were sticking through and blankets had to be laid on top but I still had a bad night. We were not told the closest parking area. Perhaps when it is redecorated it will be more inviting.
Review 17:The receptionist.
Review 18:Water needs a good 10 minutes to warm up First night there was no heating Room was a bit smelly - I suspect it's from the bed cover. Shabby looking building, elevator scarily squeaky
Review 19:Location is brilliant, across the street from the train station. Good sized bathroom with tub. Quite clean (except for bed cover)
Review 20:The elevator is dirty. The breakfast is minimal. The first night, it was too cold, the heater was not functioning; next night they provided a portable heater
Review 21:The location. Near to the Gare, restaurants and bus stop. Room and bathroom are clean.
Review 22:The room was dark since there were only 3 lamps in the room. There was no heating available despite the cold. There were extra blankets but it was still hard to stay warm outside the bed. The building is under renovation, so the corridor was dirty during my stay.
Review 23:The staffs were nice and helpful. The location was very good, just opposite to the train station and 10 mins walk from city center.
Review 24:Just an FYI - Room key doesn't let you in the front door. Desk is attended 24 hours, but if attendant away from the need to buzz to gain entrance
Review 25:Very convenient. Right outside the front of the train station so very easy to find! An easy walk to the sights in Rouen. Local grocery shops, pharmacy, patisserie, all within a block or across the street Staff helpful. A good basic place to stay. Elevator a pleasant bonus.
Review 26:interior could use a renovation, noise from adjacent rooms, not always hot water
Review 27:located close to the train station and metro line, walking distance to the city center
Review 28:We stayed on a Sunday lots of places closed including restaurants...(October)
Review 29:Close to train station ...staff excellent..we had nice bigroom with extra bedroom so we had lots of space shower and bath excellent..elevator to rooms ..did not have breakfast as boulangerier on corner
Review 30:My biggest problem was finding the place your instructions were woeful to put it mildly eventual after many attempts I found jeannie de ach boulivard took me strait there would you please rectify your instructions
Review 31:has seen better days asked for disabled room so got 6th floor accessed via stairs or a very dilapidated lift room basic no coffee making facilities but good bathroom if you don't want to be up early don't have room 6/7 as this is next to the makeshift dining room and get woken at 6.30 with staff getting ready for breakfast and finally as stated when booking no parking
Review 32:Wi-fi didn't work; no tea / coffee in room. Breakfast looked unappealing so we gave it a miss.
Review 33:Good location. Easy to find. ample parking in local side streets. Easy walk into city centre.
Review 34:Breakfast was pretty small with limited selections. Definitely not a deal breaker, though.
Review 35:I loved the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal; within easy walking distance of pretty much everything in the older part of Rouen. Wi-Fi worked like a charm. Bed was very comfortable and we slept really well.
Review 36:Half of the lights were broken. There's a dirty underwear in the closet behind the two blankets..
Review 37:The staff was kind and warm. Room was clean and nice. I will definitely come back someday.
Review 38:Good quality rooms at an excellent price. Very friendly staff who spoke perfect English. Well located with parking around, close to the centre of a fantastic city and opposite the train station.
Review 39:very difficult to locate the first time but once you realise that it is opposite the station entrace on the corner of the square that is alongside the station, then it is a breese. Parking is a nightmare but all the payee parking is free from 19h00 until 9hr the next morning but after 19h spaces are hard to find but they are there, I was lucky and got one just round the corner.
Review 40:convinient, in the square next to the station. Very close to the old part of town which is a must to see and very lively, lots of bars, resturants and live music. The hotel is very quite and there is a very good place for breakfastcroisanttes and a friendly bistro to eat them in with a good strong coffee to open your eyes.
Review 41:We loved staying at the Astrid. very close to the TGV (across the road). It was quiet and was only a 10 minute walk to the main restaurant hub of Rouen. There was a great Boulangerie around the corner, ATM next door and there was a nice bar around the corner as well. The breakfast was simple but had cereal as well as Pastries and and a baguette.
Review 42:Shabby is OK for French hotels but it could have been much cleaner.
Review 43:The only thing positive here is the location - just in front of the railway station. The room is large and the bathroom as well but the overall condition is quite poor.
Review 44:Easy to find in Rouen (just follow directions for the train station). We parked our car nearby (payment required on day time). Not so far from the center. Very nice staff.
Review 45:Walls are pretty thin and the structure of the room positions means you might get woken up if other guests come back in a little worse-for-wear.
Review 46:Good location, right next to the main train station. Staff were friendly. Room was clean, good shower. WiFi reception good and easy to access.
Review 47:Not a serious problem, but a slightly cramped bathroom with the toilet sited too close to lateral and facing walls, which required some imagination to use satisfactorily.
Review 48:Very conveniently sited, virtually opposite the main entrance to Rouen railway station. Reasonably priced and comfortable, with cheerful, knowledgeable and very helpful staff.
Review 49:We managed to park outside.Free overnight and Sunday. Suggested parking is in underground station car park opposite. Bit worried about security of an obvious tourist car full of luggage and with bike rack.
Review 50:Right next to station so easy to find Relatively quiet for a city centre Hotel Good breakfast Very clean room Shower cubicle good but very little space allocated to the loo, knees against the wall in front! Short walk to very good Cheese Restaurant."Maitre Corbeau" Rue de Basnage.
Review 51:Hotel hasn't parking place near for short stop. Very difficult to park car near hotel when you arrive and depart
Review 52:very close to city centre very simple room
Review 53:We had two rooms, with a couple in each room. Our friends had a satisfactory room with a large bath. Ours seemed to be a formerly single room turned into a double. It was at the end of the hall, with a bathroom that seemed to be an afterthought. My very slim husband could barely use the shower; he could not wash his hair because the water was not draining properly, and we were worried about overflowing. Also the toilet paper was behind the toilet and could not be reached w/o standing, and our knees bumped up against the wall. Our friends came down to look for us but could not see the room number because there was no light in the hall. We chose the hotel solely on the basis of location, but agreed that we will never stay there again.
Review 54:The location which was close to the train station, since we were going to be taking the train early the next morning.
Review 55:wifi signal is poor
Review 56:The staffs are very nice
Review 57:Had what needed for my stay. Nothing bad to say
Review 58:Proximity to subway and train, as well as restaurant
Review 59:No toilet paper, bed light not working.
Review 60:A room was available Price is fair for such hotel Staff is friendly
Review 61:Small bathroom, lack of sound insulation
Review 62:close to the train station, clean room
Review 63:Smelly reception area
Review 64:Comfortable bed, good hot shower, quiet
Review 65:Wery good place for travelers. Near with train station and historical center.
Review 66:The breakfast buffet was short on choices.
Review 67:The location opposite the railway station and the friendly staff.
Review 68:Very friendly reception.
Review 69:Nothing really.
Review 70:Funny little old hotel but full of character
Review 71:Very close to the train station, don't need to walk far with your luggage!
Review 72:Toilet was very tiny, especially for tall people.
Review 73:Location and staff.
Review 74:worn out rooms, wifi was not always working
Review 75:Good location, pet friendly, friendly staff (everybody)
Review 76:I couldn't complain about anything.
Review 77:Great staff, great location and excellent value.
Review 78:Shower head was broken in our room. Beds had uncomfortable protective sheet which was very warm
Review 79:Friendly staff and convenience to train station
Review 80:There was no airco which made the room very hot.
Review 81:Very good location
Review 82:Threre was 5 € upcharge to the internet offer for a bathroom with bathtub.
Review 83:There is a private parking.
Review 84:Tiny room...but expected.
Review 85:Nearest to the railway station, walk distance to the center of city
Review 86:Very close to the train station, nice bath!
Review 87:no wifi for whole day, really dispointed
Review 88:Staircase looks under construction. WIFI is not stable.
Review 89:Staff is so kind and enthusiastic. Location is pretty good.
Review 90:Wifi hard to find
Review 91:Location
Review 92:Heating was out of order but plenty of hot water. Being refurbished while we were there.
Review 93:Central location. Room clean and comfortable.
Review 94:the wall was thin, I heard the neighbour
Review 95:Parking a bit of a walk but to be expected with central location
Review 96:Location close to station Good shower
Review 97:The place was grubby especially the public areas.
Review 98:Bedding was fine.
Review 99:Just in front of The Train station and also at five minutes walking to The centre.
Review 100:It was not possibile to open the Windows becouse of the traffic noise (there was no air conditioning)
Review 101:Wifi connection
Review 102:Breakfast was a bit sparse, even for a continental breakfast
Review 103:Good location Clean, comfortable room
Review 104:Nearly nothing.
Review 105:Nearly nothing
Review 106:Extremely dirty!! Vomit stains on the carpet in the hallways. Generally not very well maintained and old.
Review 107:Location wise it's right outside train station. Staff were very helpful.
Review 108:Good value for money, great extra room for children off of the bathroom. Very happy.
Review 109:Extremely dirty carpets on all floors. Very plain breakfast. Room plain.
Review 110:Close to train station and city centre
Review 111:Cleaner left my room opened all day; receptionist didn't care at all when I told him. Bathroom and room were old.
Review 112:Decent hotel just in front of the train station. 10 mins on foot to the centre of the town. Friendly staff at the reception.
Review 113:The only lighting in the room came from one of the two bedside lights - the other didn't work - and a table lamp, which made the room rather gloomy. I would like a mirror in the room as the one in the bathroom is steamed up just when you want to use it.
Review 114:Excellent location opposite Rouen Rive Droite station for trains, trams and buses and in walking distance of city centre and the river. Friendly, helpful staff at reception. Comfortable room in which nearly everything worked, generously sized bathroom.
Review 115:internet sometimes cannot work. I have to relord 2-3times. When I tried to take a shower at am5:00,there is no hot water. Because maybe I was the first one to use the bath that day,the staff explain the reason to me.
Review 116:located in across from the train station! it's so convinent for me to take the early train. I can go to visit La Harve and back to check in,it doesn't waste time. The room , bathroom, view are quiet well. The staff is kind and speak English. When I come to here next time,I will live the same place.
Review 117:Small room, looks old and not well maintained (but it is clean and cheap).
Review 118:Clean and very close to center (opposite the station and 10 min walking from the cathedral).
Review 119:It is a modest hotel that needs a deep cleaning, but then, of course, it would be more expensive. Poor soundproofing. Relation quality - price is something unfavorable.
Review 120:Everything was working! And I was exactly looking for a hotel across the street from Railway station.
Review 121:hotel is in the old city, just opposite the central railway station (Gare de Rouen), very convenient. parking is available in the gare or just near the hotel if you plan to leave next day as we did. from 19h to 9 am it's free (in the street). room was VERY spacious - we managed to get 2 room apartment with large bathroom just for the cost of normal double room. room is spacious, everything was nice,WIFI ok
Review 122:The hotel is not a luxury hotel and doesn't aim to be one, so I think it's a little expensive. The Breakfast is definitely too expensvie for what it offers. The wifi didn't work very well in my room.
Review 123:The location across the road from the train station is excellent. I had a lovely view of the train station, but it did mean the room was a little noisy. My room was reasonably comfortable and had a good sized bathroom though the decor wasn't exactly up to date. Despite the criticisms, if I was to return to Rouen for work I would definitely go back to this hotel.
Review 124:Room is a little bit small. And noise between rooms could be heard.
Review 125:The location is the best since it is right next to the train station. So you can easily find it without asking people around in French.
Review 126:We couldn't get a hot drink (no facilities in the room and the machine had no water). Breakfast is supplied but pricey but there are also a number of cafes just around the corner which are cheaper
Review 127:The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We didn't arrive until after midnight yet that was no problem
Review 128:Staff were amazing very kind and helpful. We arrived late we did not speak French....but they were patient, very kind, nice front desk staff who went out of there way to help us .Great room over looking the station. loved this hotel it was wonderful for the price we paid.
