Reviews for Demeure de la Cordelière

Review 1:Beautiful home as well as a very comfortable room- It was like a home away from home. Breakfast was lovely and the host was very helpful and available if we needed something. It was located in a perfect location, within walking distance to restaurants and the Blois castle.

Review 2:Lack of privacy at breakfast time; we had to have breakfast at the same table with another couple who was visiting. It feels like you're staying in somebody's house (which is true) instead of in a hotel. Breakfast is served in the hostess' private living room.

Review 3:Nice location with private parking. Very nice spacious rooms.

Review 4:In advance of our arrival Anne, our host, kindly offered to pick us up at from the rail station which was great given that it was raining heavily at the time. On arrival at Demeure de la Cordelière we were shown to our beautifully furnished, light and spacious room on the 1st floor. The old house is lovely. It’s very tastefully decorated and furnished, and is securely located behind big metal gates. We found it’s location to be good as well with a walk of about 5-7 minutes into the town centre with it’s many shops and restaurants. Breakfasts were round one big table and every morning we enjoyed an interesting chat with other guests who were visiting from countries as far apart as Finland, Canada and Dubai. Anne proved to be a very pleasant and informative host and her great attention to detail added to our breakfast enjoyment. Our bed was extremely comfortable with lovely bed linen, and our room was very quiet at night with virtually no traffic noise. Prior to our leaving, Anne kindly offered to drop us off at the rail station which was a really kind offer. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in recommending Demeure de la Cordelière to anyone seeking quality accommodation in Blois.

Review 5:One small complains that croissants were very greasy, too buttery and not too fresh not crispy. Perhaps we were just not used to this kind of croissants. Everything else was just perfect. Anne has an organic garden but there were no vegetables at breakfast. Would have been nice to have some tomatoes or peppers.

Review 6:Anne greeted us at the gate as we parked our car in the yard. She is a perfect hostess. Cats are adorable and friendly. Loved it when one of the kitties just walked in to our room, went to the bathroom to get a drink and left, it was so funny. Breakfast is very nice, very warm atmosphere. Rooms are beautiful and light. Our bathroom was very cute and functional. Rooms are well equipped with Nespresso coffee makers, tea kettle, water, good tea and coffee pods. Bathrobes and house shoes were also a big plus. It's quiet and friendly.

Review 7:a bit pricey compared with the other Chambres d'hôtes of the same quality we have stayed at

Review 8:Convenient location and good breakfast. Attractive comfortable room

Review 9:no bad experience at all. Wifi was not as strong as it could be in our room, but it still worked.

Review 10:Beautiful old historic, renovated home. We loved the bathroom. Room had coffee/tea making in it bathrobes, slippers. Real nice

Review 11:Anne is a wonderful host. She picked us up from the station and when we saw the place we just fell in love. The place is beautifully decorated with attention to all the details. You can tell that Anne made efforts to make the place very special and there was personal touch on everything. Breakfast in garden was so serene and as a cat lover, I loved to see cats/kittens playing in the garden. My boyfriend had to drag me out of the place to go sightseeing because I just did not want to leave the place. One of the best places we have stayed at, and we travel A LOT.

Review 12:The owner was delightful and we felt at home immediately. We had the small annex of the house with our own separate entry. We only had one night but will return.

Review 13:We had trouble getting into the gate late at night.

Review 14:The room was very spacious and the bathroom impressive. The breakfast on the patio was perfect and a great start to our day. Location was idea with Blois Castle and the Musee de Magic in close proximity.

Review 15:Beautiful and stylish private home, huge designer en-suite bedroom, gourmet home cooked breakfast, friendly young family hosts with lots of cats. Secure gated off street parking, and small outside garden.

Review 16:Very late checkin- initially she said 5:00pm then changed to 4pm. Wouldn't even let us use the toilet after a long bike ride into town! Breakfast was very disappointing for the quality she claims to represent- basic bread, confiture and croissants with poorly cooked eggs available if you like. Seems like she is struggling to keep this going . Even her child didn't seem happy about having us there....

Review 17:Classic French building with more modern, updated amenities. Good location to town.

Review 18:fabulous location and a most amazing hotel. Lovely host Anne and here beautiful cats the rooms are splendid with lovely touches to make ones stay both comfortable and memorable. We will definitely return as it rates as one of the best hotels we have stayed at. A real must find

Review 19:Huge, spacious room and bathroom located just minutes by foot to heart of Blois, and 5-7 minutes by foot to the Chateau. Owner went out of her way to ensure we were absolutely comfortable, and having a secure parking spot in the city center sealed the deal.

Review 20:We loved our stay at Anne's beautiful home. It is the perfect place to base yourself for a visit to chambord. The room was lovely, the breakfast was yummy and Anne was a great hostess. Would highly recommend for a unique stay in the Loire valley.

Review 21:nothing

Review 22:You cannot find a more welcoming, friendly and helpful host. The house is very special (part 13th century), but nevertheless very comfortable. Room was charming and personal. Continental breakfast is generous and complete.

Review 23:The whole place is just perfect. The owner was very kind and our room was better than we imagined. In the room there was a nespresso machine and many delicious tea sachets.

Review 24:The bedding was a little too hot for us but I'm sure would be appreciated when the weather turns cold.

Review 25:Anne and her husband were great hosts. We were lucky to be upgraded to a lovely room with a bathroom in the 13th century watch tower. Anne was really helpful with places to go and maps. Nice breakfast provided which kept us full all day.

Review 26:Anna is the most wonderful hostess, breakfast in the garden with Anna was a treat. Location is exceptional and parking on location is private and secure. Room was large and bright, the bath had everything you could want. If you appreciate the personal touch, you have found your stay.

Review 27:We would like to have checked in a little earlier than the 5.30pm time stipulated but this seems to be the norm for most Chambres d'Hotes. No WiFi.

Review 28:Very convenient for walking into the centre of Blois but quiet enough for a good night's sleep. A beautiful historical house complete with creaky floorboards to be expected of an old house. Anne, the owner is charming and very helpful but speaks very little English. Quality and generosity of breakfast was excellent. The room was very well equipped with Nespresso machine and generous toiletries.

Review 29:Not much. A small refrigerator in room would be handy, although Anna readily chilled our champagne in her fridge.

Review 30:The hostess Anna was delightful. She made us very welcome. Suggested and booked restaurant for us. Beautiful french villa, with gardens incorporating old city wall. Decor modern chic. As new bathroom set in medieval turret room of old wall. On site parking. Very handy location on centre of old town, close to chateau, restaurants, shopping etc.

Review 31:Really good location! Very friendly lady and the breakfast was brilliant! Nice place and very clean. Will go back!
