Reviews for Urban Lodge
Review 1:Everything was very enjoyable during our stay at Urban Lodge. Staff, and particularly Marise, was extremely friendly and helpful. Among other things, she kindly gave us bread and cheese when all shops nearby were closed at our arrival. Merci for showing us the best of French generosity. Highly recommended for all couples
Review 2:Might be a tad tricky to find. I used Google maps & had no problems.
Review 3:The woman working the front desk was an angel. She let me check in early and told me about the availability of a kitchenette unit. She was extremely helpful and greeted me with a smile every time I saw her. The place was quiet, reasonably priced and very comfortable.
Review 4:bathroom too old and inconfortable. The hotel is in a "hot" area, a bit far from city center. The parking is expensive
Review 5:it was a good deal but I couldn't stay there more then one night
Review 6:Wifi was quirky, did not try the breakfast.
Review 7:Close distance to downtown shopping and old town. There was a washing machine there but I did not use it. Elevator. Nice bathroom.
Review 8:An "old" smell in the rooms. It didn't really bother us during our one night stay. WiFi didn't work at our floor.
Review 9:We've arrived very late (at 23:00) but the hotel's staff organized everything very well, so we've got our room keys and a remote control for the parking gates together with detailed instructions.
Review 10:Not that we expected much because of the price but it was very dated and basic. The showerhead wouldn't stay up so we fixed it with some sticking plaster! The room was absolutely sweltering. Glad it was just two nights passing through!
Review 11:Close enough to walk to the centre of town.
Review 12:The keycard didn't work and we couldn't get into our room at 2am!!! The keycard worked fine in the afternoon. Nobody was available to help us get into the room. Together with other guests we found the maid's keycard on the front desk and used it to get into our room. We could have opened every other room with this maid keycard!!! It was a really bad experience. The next morning we complained during check-out. They were not impressed and just said: "next time it will work". We will never come back to this hotel!
Review 13:One of the rooms was clearly not properly cleaned however was tidy looking. Dirty socks of previous guest under the bed. Broken lamp. Hair in bed as well as in the bathroom. Wi-fi only working in the common room area.
Review 14:Friendly staff. Floor surface is good for pets as it can be easily cleaned (in case of accidents).
Review 15:money has been detected twice from my credit card. It's been since more than six weeks amount not yet returned to my account. I am following up every week twice but money not yet returned to me. I would like to warn all the guest to check the amount detected in the credit card. I need an immediate action from the hotel management to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
Review 16:especially big shop near by to buy some food items.
Review 17:We found a cockrich in the reception desk. The room was too hot andnothing for cooling. No telephone in the room and toilet paper in thebathroom ! The location is poor and the parking isfor the hospital inthe front! The staff is out of their mind ! They have too many work todo and they can not manage.
Review 18:Remote control gated Secure Underground parking with access directly into hotel. Next door to contemporary art museum, close to supermarket. Room had kitchenette twin bed and bathroom very good value for money. Functional feel as it used to be a hospital.
Review 19:Communication barrier (the staff did not speak english but only french), worn out equipment (renovation recommended - the hotel looks like it stopped in early 90's), cleanliness, poor equipment.
Review 20:Location close to the city center, kitchenette in the room, pretty friendly staff, underground parking.
Review 21:Hard to find - outside it's still the name of the former hotel-Victoria Garden. The standard room we've got - in need of maintenance and remodeling- the furniture was old and the room wasn't very clean... the mattress and pillows were uncomfortable
Review 22:Quiet area, underground parking, nice staff, spacious room, very good Wi-Fi, new towels... it was realy cheap
Review 23:SImple and functional hotel, close to the center of the town; very good staff; advised for short stays and families.
Review 24:Cheap, clean and comfortable - everything a low-cost traveller needs.
Review 25:Not full operating time of receptions
Review 26:Everything operates
Review 27:Room basic
Review 28:Close to town centre
Review 29:The receptionist was very helpful and allowed us to park three motorbikes for one parking fee.
Review 30:Internet connection was poor
Review 31:Value for quick overnight stay
Review 32:Underground parking was a real bonus for safety. Good little apartment for a 1 night stay.
Review 33:Nothing
Review 34:Position of the hotel, near the shopping centre.Hotel is good equiped and in good position.
Review 35:N/a like all
Review 36:Flexibility they let us check in early without booking very friendly
Review 37:The room was comfy, nice bathroom, very friendly and english speaking staff :)
Review 38:room wasn't clean. They said it would be clean at Five but it wasn't
Review 39:The Staff was really friendly
Review 40:bad wifi, very hot in the room,no aircond and fan
Review 41:Kitchen in the room
Review 42:Wifi doesn't work in rooms. No air condition. In room was very hot,we could not sleep.
Review 43:le wifi dans la chambre ne marche pas!!!
Review 44:Pas de wifi, ou très faible avec coupures, cela me rend trè nerveux et perte de temps
Review 45:A long walk from the train station with suitcase
Review 46:The staff were great.
Review 47:The door would not lock.
Review 48:The staff and that it was an old hospital.
Review 49:Wifi is not free.
Review 50:You can park just in front of the hotel for free. Main attractions from downtown are reached by a short walk.Kitchen is small but enough for basics. Mattresses and pillows were really good, just the bedcovers a bit old. Definitely good value for money.
Review 51:Everything was fine. Clean sheets, comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, friendly English speaking staff and good location. We paid the extra for the continental breakfast and found this good value.
Review 52:Room was damp and not very clean (cobwebs and floor not swept). No shower curtain. Wet room with inadequate drainage (hence the damp smell). Reception staff hardly ever there. Poor value for money. Expensive breakfast. Arrived at night and discovered the hotel is in the red light district.
Review 53:That Internet is not free. It would not cost much to add an euro or two per day in the bill to make it freely available.
Review 54:The friendliness and efficiency of the staff. The facilities are quite reasonable, and the place is a ten minute walk from the historic center, and close to a number of nice restaurants, like Japanhao if you like Japanese
Review 55:Although we intended to stay at this hotel, we were unable to do so as the carpark is underground and the access is height-limited. Don't book this hotel if you have a large 4x4 with roof box! Onstreet parking was very limited and didn't look safe at all, so we had to find another place to stay.
Review 56:Looked a nice hotel but were unable to enjoy it.
Review 57:External sign for the hotel difficult to see from the road. The parking card for the underground parking did not function well.
Review 58:Friendly staff, spacious room if quite simple. Good value for the money.
Review 59:Nothing to complain
Review 60:We did like the friendlyness of the staff, the confort, cleanliness; quiet area, easy to access, parking accessible with the elevator.
Review 61:Towels are smelly should put some fragrance softeners when rinsing cycle take place
Review 62:Near enough to drive to exhibition, quite area ,parking availability
Review 63:Wifi at 1 euro an hour or 5 euros for 24 hours ... crap!!! I havewatched paint dry faster. In 1 hour I had 25 minutes actually onlineafter the pages loaded .. so slow it is unreal. Tv channels all inFrench, not even sky news or music channel to watch in English.
Review 64:Rooms with adequate kitchette facilities, tv although all frenchchannels only! Shower room with a good shower. Underground secure carpark at 5 euros per stay.all in all a good hotel if you are on the move.
Review 65:Did not have any clue on where to adjust Heater!! so was hot.. However it wasnt a problem though
Review 66:Excellent Staff, Good Location, Nice and Safe Parking (off street), Rooms were pretty big and peaceful..
Review 67:the kitchen was a bit small for 3 persons but overall no complaints
Review 68:nice spacious room, very clean, great service, a supermarket 5 minutes walk and 15 for the town. it was a very pleasant and quiet area. The price is really great too, not just for the value
Review 69:The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that some people did a lots of noise, on the stairs in front of our room.
Review 70:The room was in fact one suite, very cheap with a bad, TV, kitchenet, WC.
Review 71:You get what you pay for in France- recption well presented but roomsfelt and looked dirty, very clinical , had appearance of been exhospital staff accomodation as it was attached to a hospital or part ofa hospital. Sheets and towels very clean but bed covers stained, utensils were very inadequate . reason for choosing the hotel was thatwe could make our own meals but we did not cook or make anything becauseit did not feel clean. There was only 1 cup in a 2 person apartment. Wehad stayed at similar rated aparthotels in Germany, Switzerland andBelguim at similar prices and had been excellent
Review 72:Reception staff helpful and pleasant parking facilities excellent
Review 73:Restaurant was closed for evening meal, and appeared to be closed for breakfast. location of the hotel is not the best, the area could be intimidating for some.
Review 74:Convenienly located within walking distance of the centre of Mulhouse, with staff were very friendly and helpful. As motorcyclists one of the reasons for selecting this hotel was due to the fact that there is secure undergound parking, however this was charged at 5 euros per night. Once in the centre of Mulhouse there are plenty of restaurants and nice architecture to enjoy.
Review 75:This is a budget apart hotel and is, therefore, rather basic. That said, it provided everything we needed for our one night stay. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The secure underground parking was a real bonus. There was no noise during the night and we slept well. For catering, there is a two ring cooker and a microwave. Value for money was excellent. Helpful and pleasant staff.
Review 76:the first room we were given was so hot that you couldn't stay in the room. The hotel did give us a change of room on a different floor when I asked. The bedding was heavily stained, the room was very tired, well used.
Review 77:underground parking
Review 78:It was first time in appart hotel but its excellent experience for me and specialy this hotel is awesome every thing was excellent staff, rooms, beds, toilet and specially clean, so i recommend every one to this hotel... price is sooooo good/// i love this place and come again, thanks for staff and host managment and adminstration
Review 79:* Though paid, very poor internet connectivity. Drops and stalls are killing. It is not a WiFi signal problem but merely a server problem.* No iron in room (advertised as present in room)
Review 80:* Price effective* (Free) street parking possible * Pretty much as advertised
Review 81:we like to extend our stay for one night and ask the reception about this. she directly say that all the room were fulled. my husband try booking.com and see that the room that we need were available and showed it to the receptionist who then said someone has cancelled the room (which we know exactly that she was lying). shortly, we got our rooms even though we have to move all our luggage to a new room just in front of our previous room (we are 4 persons with a child so moving all the luggage was really annoying)
Review 82:the price is ok. the room is large though with minimum facilities
Review 83:There was no air conditioning in our room and it is very uncomfortable to sleep when outside temperature is > 30 C.
Review 84:In general it is a budget hotel more suitable for students rooms. It is OK to stay one night but not more. I would recommend to stay in Colmar as it is more interesting city to explore.
Review 85:We had a double room with a small kitchenette. The rooms was really clean and the bathroom too. The beds were comfortable. The rooms was well maintained. Our friends with two boys (19 & 21y) had a family room. It was really nice to have breakfast together and to cook in the kitchen. I would definately come back to this hotel.
Review 86:Rooms are really poor, looking pretty much like a hospital rooms (sheetshave exactly the same smell and feeling). Rooms are dirty and very old.The worst is the location: situated in a very poor area of the city, considered as really unsafe by locals. The only reason to stay here isfor people whose relatives are being treated at the nearby clinic.AVOID absolutely if this is not your case! (Or be prepared for street fighting). Do not leave your car/bike in the street. At 5€ the underground parking is very good value, actually a must in this area. The hotel being what it is, is expensive.
Review 87:Underground secure parking (much needed the hotel being located in theworst part of the city).
Review 88:Extras like breakfast, wifi, secure parking etc. could add up if youtook them all.
Review 89:We liked the fact that our apartment was spacious, good value, and veryclean, with daily room service. Also quiet, close to a big supermarketand within walking distance of city centre.
Review 90:Way too basic and extremely dated. Have stayed in better youth hostels. The 3 year old slept on a fold down sofa bed and the baby in a travel cot - both got up the following morning with flee bites on their bodies. My husband and I both felt really uncomfortable in the place and did comtemplate leaving but as it was only a crash pad for the night during a long journey from Italy to England we stayed.
Review 91:the public areas seemed very nice and clean although did not eat there. Staff were polite and friendly.
Review 92:Very cheap but comfortable room. Very friendly staff. Hotel is locatednearby the city center (10 min. Walk). Great spot for a stopover duringthe longer journey. Useful underground parking (although not included inthe price of the room).
Review 93:Very 'cheap & cheerful' but a run-down hotel in a not very nice area ofa not very nice city. Belfort & Colmar were full as were nearly allother Mulhouse hotels. Room heating is controlled by reception so ourroom was like a sauna. Nowhere to eat anywhere near our hotel on Sundaynight - we walked for about 90 minutes trying to find an open restaurant
Review 94:Nothing really although breakfast was ok. Underground parking availablebut at a €5 per night fee
Review 95:The first room offered was adjacent to the road on the ground floor.Previous occupants had smoked and the room smelt strongly of smoke. Dueto the location we were unable to have the windows open. The second roomoffered was better, but very small and had twin beds. Very poor kitchenfacility's for a long stay. No tea/ coffee/milk/kettle to make a drinkin the room, and no Hotel cafe to have one, other than at breakfasttime. Only a coin operated cold drinks machine on the ground floor.Laundry room not available for guests. No information in room regardingany facility's that guests might need. Unless towels etc were thrown onthe floor the cleaners did not change them.
Review 96:The reception desk staff made us very welcome.
Review 97:My only complain has to do with privacy. We had a room on the ground floor with direct access to the street and only a frosted window with a narrow clear part next to its frame, between the street and buildings near by and the bathroom and shower stall.
Review 98:The staff was friendly and did their best to answer my request for an iron which was not available at that time by lending me one from the laundry room. The room was well equipped, more like an apartment, with the possibility to cook, and very spacious. For a family with children or travelers wishing to save on restaurant costs, this would be the best place to stay. One of the best in terms of quality-price. I wish I could find such an hotel elsewhere in france.
Review 99:Friendly helpful staff, could speak english. Clean spacious room and bathroom. 7 Euro breakfast was excellent value, very nice. Easy walking distance to city center. Supermarket close by. Paid parking was very secure.
Review 100:The night we stayed there - it was pretty hot, around 30 degrees. Couldhave used air-con or a fan at least.
Review 101:We stopped there overnight on our way to Interlaken. Good enough for aone night stay - nothing fancy, but as I said, good for the price.
Review 102:The apartment has all the basic needs that we needed for a two nights stay. I like that the kitchenette (complete with two hobs, sink, fridge, and microwave, and all utensils needed) is in a separate 'room' at the entrance. I'm not sure why a kettle is not provided, though. On the whole the apartment is very clean, the main bedroom very spacious, and the dining table for four was added surprise to us. Staff at the reception were friendly and helpful.
Review 103:The apartment for 4 persons had two separate rooms, one bathroom and a small kitchenette which was exactly as promised. The hotel offers very basic accommodation, however, everything is clean and tidy.
Review 104:Room not so tidy, no blankets, really cheap and old furniture the roomhad nothing to do with the photo on the website...
Review 105:Not too far from highway, parking facility
Review 106:the smell of damp , room view was horrible, looking at a factory roof. the beds were too thin and smelly. my 12 and 14 year old sons had to share a very narrow sofa. i will not go there again.
Review 107:the price was not too bad.the young girl at reception was very helpfull..
Review 108:There was a kind of smell in the room, but it wasn't awful.
Review 109:We stayed here to commence our trip along the alsacienne wine route and it was really a perfect starting point. It is not fancy, but its clean enough and the breakfast was good. For a night or two, I think its worth it considering it is not at all expensive.
Review 110:It was too hot in the studio. The staff put down from 27 to 21 degrees. Still too hot so they put down to 17 degrees et despite that, we spent the night without blanket, being thursty all the time. It is a bit sad in times of energy savings... and it create a bit of disconfort. The restaurant was closed and we walked 15 min with my children to eat in town.
Review 111:It is not too far from the center. Good studio for small family with micro wave. The staff is nice and respectful. Quiet all the time.
Review 112:Wifi is not for free.
Review 113:Very close to downtown and free parking on the block.
Review 114:fair
Review 115:Mulhouse is great for visiting the wonderful Car Museum, but that's it. The apartment was ok and the car park recommendable.
Review 116:far from the mulhouse central station
Review 117:great value for money , friendly receptionist , kitchen and kitchenware attached
Review 118:Checkin after 16:00, no free WiFi. Poor soundproofing with neighbor...I could hear everything. Breakfast not included.
Review 119:Location is not too bad.
Review 120:Don't expect too much. Very simple but at least clean.
Review 121:Clean and comfortable for an one night stay. Parking
Review 122:limited check in time.
Review 123:Very helpful staff. Good value for the money. Walking distance from city centre.
Review 124:-no comfort, very basic -no covered shower: result compleet bathroom under water after showering. -no minibar
Review 125:clean towels
