Reviews for Hotel Du Parc - Mulhouse Centre

Review 1:Being Americans, we were not used to the smoke that constantly wafts into the beautiful lobby from the sidewalk smokers. Wi-Fi is sketchy. Shower ridiculous. Forget the overpriced breakfast and hit a café. Rooms great, staff superb and over the top in trying to help. garage parking....oy is all I have to say. But stay here, it is a gem; you will be transported to a mini-Paris of the 20's.

Review 2:good location

Review 3:The noise. The room was on the first floor and there was a live band playing music at the bar until 1am. It would have been good to know beforehand that a band was playing that night.

Review 4:The location

Review 5:We came with two small dogs and the standard rate of 15 € per dog per night seems awfully high , especially considering the room allocated to us was rather tired looking with no view of the park .

Review 6:We liked the ambiance and the friendliness of the staff . The live jazz concert on Saturday night last weekend was magnificent , we would love to come again!

Review 7:I booked three nights in this hotel thinking it would be the best hotel in Mulhouse to stay in with my bride. Even though I mentioned to receptionist that I'm getting married and staying with my new bride she put us in a dark room on the first floor just above the bar and front entrance to the hotel. The room was noisy at night and dark in the day time. The carpet smelled of strong carpet cleaners which caused me severe irritation to my throat at night. Bathroom was old and looked tired, Water leaks onto the floor and the bathroom is a mishmash of modifications and changes over the years. The hair dryer is at least 20 years old and barely dries anything. The room did not have coffee making facility and every morning I had to go down to the breakfast area to get my bride a cup of filter coffee which they charge at a ridiculous price of 3.50 euros. To add insult to injury when I told the receptionist about my experience she just smiled and did not feel obliged to ask me for details or even say sorry.

Review 8:Interesting art deco decour. Room is spacious.

Review 9:The "private parking" is about 500 m from hotel entrance, shared with residence, just near prostitute, so not secured but charged at 20 euros per night!

Review 10:The last time the hotel was renovated in 1988 and it looked as if most of the hotel furniture wasn't overhauled since that time. The carpet in the hall and the room wasn't cleaned for a long time. The bed and the bathroom were cleaned well. We asked the staff to advise us for a good, traditional restaurant. Unfortunately they didn't know which restaurant was good or bad. The bed was a drama. The matttress was very bad. It was not possible to lie in a normal way with two person. We couldn't sleep the whole night. It's not worth the money.

Review 11:very nice art deco bar

Review 12:Excellent efficient and frienly people at the front desk. Especially the blond lady who invited me from 12.00 h on(after check out) to the business center to continue and finish an important email. very good customer care. I'll come back.

Review 13:Bed is too soft, one rolls together in the middle. Safe was unusable for 2 days. Toilet kept running. Breakfast too expensive (23 € p.P.), Parking too expensive (20 € p. day)

Review 14:Quite big and quiet room (Nr. 311), fridge, situation in the centre

Review 15:the hotel is quite old, inside of the romm you can see signs of that. Bed was horrible, we could bearly sleep. Defenetly not worth the money

Review 16:People were quite helpfull. The AC was broken in our room and we were upgraded for free. Even the upgraded room, still far from what we expected from a 4 star hotel. Location, quite centraly

Review 17:Although not bad the mattress on the double bed was slightly raised along the center due to a support bar in the frame. The exterior of the hotel (limited to view from room window) could do with some maintanence and paint.

Review 18:Staff were extremely efficient and courteous. Could extend checkout by an hour at no extra cost. There was a never ending supply of sweets on the reception desk.

Review 19:Expensive for a pretty non luxurious hotel. Scuffed and rather shabby but not in a particularly chic way. The restriction of the rather slow wifi to one device and expensive breakfast not included were disagreeable.

Review 20:Good location close to centre of Mulhouse

Review 21:The pictures on booking are misleading, the picture of the room is the highest category, the normal rooms are terrible! French Service is a disaster, people are unfriendly and do not offer any solution for compensation if anything is not satisfactory!

Review 22:Airconditioning not working 27 C in the room. Room old fashion and worn out. Expensive for room and for breakfast. Waiting time in the restaurant was long and meal was 'dry'.

Review 23:Frendly service, good breakfast.

Review 24:I can't believe they asked 23 euro per head for breakfast, 20 euros for a parking outside and 3 euros for internet beyond 30min in a 4starts hotel ! it did ruin the impression of good value for money of the room....a rip off !

Review 25:Art deco style and location, as well as location and kindness of staff; the room itself was excellent value for money.

Review 26:A little bite old fashion not very clean, they need to shampoo the carpet in the room 301 The minibar was durty too No coffee or tea facility in the room, you have to call room service to get a cup of tea... Wifi is free 30 minutes and after you have to pay ...very strange, if you complain they won't charge you No parking, you have to leave your car to the doorman or you can park outside for free if you leave before 9AM

Review 27:location

Review 28:nice location within easy 5 minute walk from train station, faces onto a park, been there for long time but in good condition, atmospheric bar. Good rate for a quality hotel. Would stay again.

Review 29:Our stay could have been even better if... there had been tea & coffee making facilities in the bedroom, there had been sliding doors on the wardrobes and if there had been a designated area within the main dining-room to accommodate guests having continental breakfast as the small tables in the reception area were too small to sit our whole group round (we were 6 people). There was some confusion amongst the staff where we should be sitting (in the reception area or in the dining-hall to eat breakfast), so some clearer guidelines for staff would have been helpful.

Review 30:Great location, courteous and very helpful staff, lovely art deco interior design, very substantial continental breakfast and superb jazz pianist Pascal Jenny who was a joy to listen to and who equally rivalled the jazz pianists in Paris. The bedrooms were spacious and the towels were changed very regularly. The bedroom was clean and tidy.

Review 31:Car park very strange and not pleasant to use. Prices for drinks and breakfast steep. no coffee and tea making facility in room

Review 32:The hotel look quite grand and it was certainly in a grand location. Our room was comfortable but quite small. Fantastic piano bar.

Review 33:Room was small and somewhat tired with ill-fitting wardrobe doors. Expensive restaurant with limited choice of menu items.

Review 34:Excellent location for the railway station, catching the trams and visiting the various museums within the area.

Review 35:OK for one night, not really a tourist hotel. Stung at the bar, and breakfast expensive compared to outside.

Review 36:Central position, near town square and restaurants. Handy for the station and TGV.

Review 37:Size of room...bathroom was a bit old...no restaurant on site (but very good Asian one in the street right behind the hotel)

Review 38:Location, style and very affordable rate for standing

Review 39:With just a 5 minute walk from the train station this hotel is in a fantastic location, you have great restaurants, shops and bars on your doorstep but also the peace and tranquillity with the hotel overlooking a quiet park. The rooms are lovely and quiet, comfortable beds, nice decor, L'Octain toiletries provided which i thought was a nice touch, lovely relaxing piano bar in the evening, all in all i would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return!!

Review 40:There was no tea/coffee facilities on room. We noticed tables were not cleared away for at least two hours in the lobby

Review 41:We went to the motor museum and was delighted to find out the connection between the founders and the hotel was once owned by the brothers

Review 42:But that doesn't quite live up to the facade. The rooms are awkward and the charm is a bit faded

Review 43:Good location to the older, stylish part of Mulhouse and areas that are up an coming. A Hotel with history

Review 44:Great location, used hotel for 1 night stopover on our way to Italy. Wonderful suite with interconnecting door to our children's room. Best night sleep , so comfortable and clean. Top class and great value for money. Would recommend to anyone for great location and eating out. Also go to the schlump collection very close by, amazing automobile collection . Thankyou.

Review 45:There was free parking , but it was over two blocks from the hotel.

Review 46:We enjoyed the spacious rooms and the central location. It was very clean and updated. We really enjoyed our stay. We recommend this establishment.

Review 47:The Hotel du Parc is in a wonderful position half way between the railway station (c. 400m) and the old town. We were lucky enough to visit during the Automobile Festival: the streets in the centre of town were lined with some wonderful cars, old and new, and there was a great party atmosphere.

Review 48:I had a great time. The staff was extremely helpful in pointing me in the right direction to everything. Location is perfect. All services and shopping within a very short walk of a few blocks. Right across the street from a lovely and very active city park.

Review 49:Bath water pressure No compensation for sitting due to false bomb threat No late checkout

Review 50:Service in the Bar

Review 51:The room was small, no stuff for making a cup of tea in the room. And the bar in the ground floor was quite expensive.

Review 52:Central location

Review 53:Great location - very friendly staff

Review 54:Carpark was an extra 20 euros, and was underground with very tight and low access, not suitable for large vehicles at all.

Review 55:Comfort of room.

Review 56:Room

Review 57:Location

Review 58:Rooms a bit small

Review 59:Location and cleanliness

Review 60:Evening meal/ supper wasn't very good

Review 61:The Staff, Comfort, facilities and location

Review 62:High standard of comfort and cleanliness. Spacious rooms, well furnished, good quality TV.

Review 63:Exceptional room - clean and loved the sheets and view of the parc. The front desk staff - Jesse and the door man

Review 64:nothing

Review 65:everything

Review 66:The insulation was horrible; we were practically freezing in the night. The heater wasn't strong enough.

Review 67:Location. Decent decor. Bathroom size.

Review 68:Car parking

Review 69:Decor and restaurant.

Review 70:The bed was uncomfortable, curved from the middle :-/

Review 71:Authentic clean hotel with great location!

Review 72:The wifi was a little too slow for someone who is away on a business trip.

Review 73:The cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the hotel.

Review 74:Not much.

Review 75:Very centrally located in Mulhouae. Still very French on character which I found refreshing.

Review 76:Much too expensive for what it is. This is Mulhouse city not Paris, London or NY !!!

Review 77:Restaurant very good

Review 78:Everything

Review 79:Nothing

Review 80:food prep takes too long

Review 81:good staff comfi bed

Review 82:room service/cleanliness not sufficient

Review 83:Very good location Hotel a l'ancienne

Review 84:The bed was broken on arrival

Review 85:Location Connecting rooms avalable

Review 86:Lack of dining

Review 87:Decor

Review 88:Staff welcoming and helpful. Room was large, bed very comfortable and quiet room, despite it being across from the elevator. Available indoor parking at €20/day but always managed to find free parking around the hotel.

Review 89:For a 4* hotel the garage remote control should be permanently available to a guest and not returned each time to the reception when taking a car.

Review 90:The hotel has an excellent location near a small park and 5 min from the historical center. Tasty french breakfast in the room was worth its value.

Review 91:Receptionist not very welcoming when we arrived early. Even though room was available we were initially told could not check in till 3.00pm. Only 30 minutes of free wifi, after that have to pay. This is pretty poor for a 4 star hotel when at all the 2 and 3 star hotels we have stayed at it has been free. Would not recommend this hotel.

Review 92:Good location near centre of town.

Review 93:Nothing to dislike, good value for money

Review 94:Art Deco Very close to Museum Very good food Dinner and breakfast were very good Nice staff Piano playing in evening was a nice touch

Review 95:breakfast was far too expensive at E26.00pp but plentiful IN FACT OVERDONE AS REGARDS QUANTITY . Less food on buffet and cooK to order would mean lower costs for breakfast

Review 96:friendly staff, great art deco decor and construction, great town, centrally located hotel. Linen and towels great room large and bright. In all very very good

Review 97:very small room - slightly shabby decoration - no safe in room (in 4* hotel!) - bathroom floor badly stained and bath stained (clearly bathroom needed renovating) - wifi included with room was for a half hour a day otherwise extra payment had to be made - computer available on landing was old and slow - lobby looked similar to that in photo only shabbier condition - I could not understand how this hotel obtained a 4* rating - I have stayed in nicer 3*s

Review 98:location between station and old town

Review 99:Private parking is expensive (20 euro per night), but you can find the parking space on the street near th e hotel and it is free of charge from 7 pm to 9 am.

Review 100:Location and atmosphere are good and easy access to the center.

Review 101:My room was 1st floor, which was upper floor on the Bar. The live music was continuing until 1:00am and BGM until 2:00am. So, I could not sleep ... I was assigned very bad room.

Review 102:The breakfast was supposed to be served until 11AM on Sunday, but when we arrive at 10:30 am, there was already half of the buffet gone. When we asked the staff, it seemed like we were disturbing.

Review 103:The room was nice and cosy. Perfect location

Review 104:Our bathroom door door did not close properly. We had to hold the doorclosed with the waste can to use the bathroom.

Review 105:Our first room was not acceptable. After we upgraded, our room met ourneeds. The beds were comfortable.

Review 106:Air condition was very noisy when you put it on high speed . The price was little bit high

Review 107:The sweet was big enough with nice sofas and lovely design , bed was very comfortable . Friendly and helpfull staff , always on time

Review 108:Obviously it'd be better if it's cheaper.

Review 109:Good overall. Luxury hotel, friendly staff. Good restaurant within thehotel and near by Taj Mahal restaurant , Mulhouse (Indian food).

Review 110:Breakfast was expensive (e18.50) and is a sneaky way to boost income.Parking cost high- 28 euros

Review 111:Stylish, well organised and spacious.Friendly staff

Review 112:Quite expensive dinner, breakfast and parking (but your car is parked by a valet). The city of Mulhouse is terrible

Review 113:Beautiful hotel, typical early 20th century French atmosphere. Large rooms.

Review 114:Breakfast too expensive, could be a little cheaper for what'spresented. Have to pay for internet.

Review 115:Near to the very centre of the city and comerce. Nice piano bar. Quickcheck in/out.

Review 116:Very noisy from about 1am when young people were leaving nearby club and this was a midweek visit

Review 117:Liked the Original Art Deco look Quality of the toiletries

Review 118:The cleaning of the room, the maintenance of the room - the roomappeared to be vorn out - needed painting, the carpet was old. Theextras prices was too high. Cost of parking was 19.5 eur pr. 24 hours -other hotels charged only 8 eur per night - the minibar was extreamlyexpensive, breakfast was 19 eur extra. We had to pay for internet. Thefitness room was not in the hotel - but far away.

Review 119:Hotel location in the city center of mulhouse. The reception and pianobar. The staff did speak good english, which is seldom in frence hotels.

Review 120:Too expensive and does not deserve 4*. My balcony could not be closedand had to change room. It was 10pm and I had to repack everything toother room. No one helped me. I had no compensation at all. The bathroomis old and the balcony was dirty and old...

Review 121:Close to city center and smoking room available

Review 122:The hotel had a "character". People at the reception were very kind and helpful. The room was very nicely decorated and was comfortable. Also the location was nice.

Review 123:The Hotel Du Parc was almost the best thing to happen to me ever while in France. My wife and I are trying to figure our lives so that we may live there. Kidding aside, it is just a pleasure on any scale.

Review 124:The bed was large but sank in the middle, not good for the back!

Review 125:A nice hotel with an Art Deco flavour near the centre of town. The staff were friendly and the room clean and spacious though no tea/coffee in the room nor breakfast included. Parking was not a problem in metered spaces outside. A good bar with music and food and Happy Hour! though a little expensive after Happy Hour.

Review 126:A major dislike - they took the €100 deposit and wouldn't or said theycouldn't deduct it from our bill an that it would be held in limbo andeventually come back to us via our bank. This would have been okay if wehad used a credit card but we had used our debit card which meant wecould not access the €100 for 8 days. This was near the end of our stayin Europe and our euros were at that stage limited and it affected ourbudgeting. In all our years of travel we have never had this happen. Theclosest examples is the deposit with car rentals but that is refundedimmediately the car is returned not held for another week. Also the additional €5 for the milk for cafe au lait was over the top of the €6 for the coffee! It would have been much cheaper to get another glass of Pinot Gris (which was good)

Review 127:Great location - 5 minutes to city centre and 5 minutes to railwaystation. Lovely environment and great spaces

Review 128:décadence sans élégance: abandoned aristocratic construction: during the night there was only two young persons trying to accomplish all (all) the tasks: reception, bar, kitchen, restaurant, etc. breakfast in the morning without eggs, express coffee machine broken and very uneducated employee.

Review 129:Our superior room king size bed dipped very badly in the centre and you had to move even slightly and you were woken up by the creaking groaning bed of room 215. I would not stay there again for that reason. Never had such a bad bed in 20 years. General manager just needs one night in it and it will be changed.

Review 130:Very good breakfast and nice staff

Review 131:The parking facilities with a too steep entrance under a too farbuilding, without any staircase or lift, you need to go out using thecar entrance. The lack of understanding and attention of the staff atthe reception who is charging 19€50 a day for that "garage". They shouldhave told us that they have another parking possibility just behind thehotel, or they should not charge this amount for a such bad experience. In addition, the steep ramp to enter that bad parking can seriouslydamage the bottom part of your car, especially if you have a loweredtype of car.

Review 132:The Modern Style design in every details, the high quality of thebreakfast, the size of the bathroom, the very good maintenance of thebuilding and the cleanliness.

The Fine Print

Please note that the first Wi-Fi connection (device) is free and unlimited. There is a charge of 5 EUR for every additional device.Extra beds and cribs are available upon request and should be requested in advance.
