Reviews for Comfort Hotel Rouen Alba
Review 1:Would have liked private parking, because we were on our way to Spain with Christmas Presents. Would have liked some English speaking channels on the T.V.
Review 2:The man in reception was extremely friendly and helpful. He is obviously very proud of the hotel. The breakfast was excellent and as inclusive in the charge it was brilliant value for money. Additionally it is right in the centre of Rouen. Public parking is very close by. The room also had coffee/tea making facilities.
Review 3:We were travelling en route between France and the UK, and the purpose was to have a good night sleep after lots of travelling. We were woken up at 2a.m. with a party downstairs...we remonstrated with them at 3a.m. to no avail. We tried to get hold of the management...line permanently engaged!. At 4 a.m. we went down again, as noise had kept on to same level, and eventually they stopped at 4.30. The manager did give us our money back the next morning, but we ended up more tired than if we had not stopped.
Review 4:location
Review 5:carpets really old , bed linen with stains room too small. no gel neither shampoo at the bathroom. poor iluminated. bit noisy
Review 6:location thé at the room exterior room good heating
Review 7:Rooms were small but view of the cathedral made up for it. Windows very soundproof I had to open them to hear the church bells. Nicely located near pedestrian streets and across fromEuropcar. Appreciated hacing a fridge.
Review 8:The shower was ridiculously small! The doors only opened a little way so you had to turn sideways to get in. The room smelt of stale cigarette smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room.
Review 9:The location was amazing, right in the centre. Helpful staff, who helped us make a booking at a local restaurant.
Review 10:No free parking, although you can park on road right outside hotel costs 2euros but you have to top meter up every 2 hours, parking is free at night though between 19.00-09.00. Rooms are a bit small but perfectly good to sleep in. The hotel has no lifts so we had to walk up to third floir where our room was located.
Review 11:Excellent location right next to notre dame, river, shops and lots of restaurants and bars.
Review 12:Dirty carpets. No elevator and "winded" by the flights of steps. Breakfast area not cleared. Small bathroom and thin walls.
Review 13:The location was nice.
Review 14:The bathroom door did not close properly due to the metal door strip being loose.
Review 15:Excellent location. Very easy walking to the Cathedral and centre of Rouen.
Review 16:We stayed in the 'annex' of the hotel. I didn't have any towels in my room, but it was late so I shared with my sons in the room next door. It was just for one night so ...... The next morning my sons informed me that the smell in their bathroom was disgusting, they couldn't find the source but it was foul. We went down to breakfast at around 09:00 (Sunday morning) There was very little food left out on the buffet, the eggs were finished, we couldn't squeeze any orange juice because the juicer was overflowing with orange pulp and with juice dripping on the counter. None of the tables were laid, they just had left over plates, cups, saucers etc on them. The lady who was responsible for this breakfast area was standing on the pavement outside talking to the night duty receptionist from the main section of the hotel. When she eventually came inside and we asked about the food, she informed us that it was all finished and shrugged her shoulders. We made do with the few bits that were there and she proceeded to start clearing away the tables and washing up behind the counter. She crashed around with the plates, cups and saucers so much that we eventually just got up to leave. It was extremely unpleasant. We went to collect our bicycles from the main section of the hotel and to our dismay saw the most beautiful breakfast laid out and people eating happily in a peaceful setting ...... I explained all this to the receptionist on duty at the time.
Review 17:Location was excellent, reception very good and very helpful.
Review 18:Staff at the reception wasn't all to friendly. Room cleaner woke me up at my departing day, hours before I was needed to check out! If you can, book a double bedroom room, a single room (like I had) was very small! Both the sleeping area as the bathroom, clean but small!
Review 19:Location-wise this place is perfect! A short walk from the shops and old part of Rouen! Some rooms even have a view of the Cathedral!
Review 20:Room was quite hot.
Review 21:Convenient location by the old town. Reasonable parking options by the hotel although not free. Easy access to some nightlife around the hotel.
Review 24:There is no shower caddy to put your bathroom supplies. Air exhaust in bathroom didn't work. For first 2 days of our stay Wi-Fi didn't work at all, and when finally started, it was slow as hell.
Review 25:Hotel is located in the historic center of the city (5 minutes walking to the Cathedral). Don't be shy to ask for a room with a Cathedral view - it's amasing!!!
Review 26:Front desk was closed and shuttered when we arrived, help did notinitially answer his phone to comedown (If you weren't carrying aphone with a European chip you would have been out of luck) no elevatorsteep, long steps up 3 flights with heavy suitcase, no help.. Tiny room, very tiny bathroom. Shower leaked. How Booking.com recommended thisplace (and I unfortunately followed their recommendation) I do not know
Review 27:Clean. Bed was comfortable . Close to cathedral, but iffy neighborhood.
Review 28:The insulation of the bathroom - when the neighbour was having shower, it sounded like he was showering next to me.
Review 29:Centrally located, clean room, good breakfast, comfortable bed, kettle in the room. Good value for money. We booked few weeks and advance and had a very good deal.
Review 30:Unfortunately there was no hot water - so we could not shower in the morning. Not great since we had a long day ahead of us. We asked the manager about it but he just said there were problems with the boiler.
Review 31:Very comfortable & breakfast was well presented and enjoyable
Review 32:Shower door didn't fit and water leaked over floor. Bathroom tiny. Carpet in bedroom needed replaced.
Review 33:Great location in heart of old town, friendly office staff. Bed comfortable.
Review 34:Very small single room. Breakfast was poor and room too small, had to wait for free space to eat. Very run down. Would not use again.
Review 35:Location and handy parking
Review 36:The 'standard double room' is the minimum size conceivable, with barely space to walk around the bed. The 'dressing table' is just a shelf, and the 'wardrobe' hanging space is also tiny. No fridge - no room for one! Room is only really adequate for one person without much luggage.
Review 37:Hotel is (October '14) being refurbished to a fairly good standard, bearing in mind the constraint imposed by the building layout. Very comfortable bed. Other facilities good.
Review 38:There is no separate shower in the room? the cabin is right inside the main room. Unfortunately there is no city guide or map at the reception
Review 39:Perfect location, wonderful view! Thank you that considered my wishes! Good and tasty breakfast. Good wifi. Tea, cofee and kettle in the room. Next time I'd like to stay here once again.
Review 40:in the morning running water from showers in other rooms was loud as if in your own room. location for selecting food for breakfast was small and a bit difficult if there were more that two people selecting their food for breakfast.
Review 41:hotel was comfortable, clean and staff were efficient and friendly. location was good, close to centre of town.
Review 42:The bathroom / matchbox far too small. You head butt the petite wash hand basin when you sit on the loo.
Review 43:Staff very helpful, good breakfast, great area.
Review 44:Nothing.
Review 45:Easy to find, very central for the old part of town, right opposite the cathedral. Managed to find a parking space right outside the hotel. Would definitely use again.
Review 46:Room very small with "integrated" bathroom; fine if all you are looking for is a nights sleep (as I was)
Review 47:Location (very central); friendly and helpful staff, WiFi, comfortable bed
Review 48:Nothing. For that price. We don't expected much.
Review 49:The location is perfect. Just behind the cathedral. With a parking just in front of the hotel. The breakfast is excellent. Very surprised with smoke salmon, ham and boiled eggs.
Review 50:Bedroom far to hot. Would have paid a little more for air conditioning. Couldn't open window far to noisy outside.
Review 51:Location good. Good Breakfast and a really comfy bed.
Review 52:Very helpful as we arrived with 2 young children at midnight and the lady working spoke v good English and helped us out by giving us a camp bed even though we hadn't booked one as there was no option if a famy room. Very helpful.
Review 53:The staircase and the idea there is no separate fire staircase.
Review 54:The surround and an unexpected amazing light / sound show in front of the cathedral.
Review 55:I could hear if anyone used the shower or taps in the other rooms - there was no soundproofing really, I could hear whole conversations of people in the corridor even if I had my television on. Luckily no one was loud early in the morning or late at night.
Review 56:The location is close to everything you need. The bed was warm and very comfortable. The shower never had any issue with hot water, though the water pressure could be slightly better.
Review 57:Very small room.
Review 58:Very well located: close to the center, free parking at night, low cost during the day. Clean. Good breakfast. These aspects have compensated the stairs with luggage to reach the floor and the very small room. Good level for a two star hotel.
Review 59:It is what it is, a good value little hotel ' no frills, but a good place to sleep and then walk the city.
Review 60:friendly staff comfy beds value for money location
Review 61:No air conditioning, next to a karaoke bar with no air con you can imagine no sleep at all could not have the windows open because of the noise could have the windows closed because of the heat
Review 62:The staff were friendly and as helpful
Review 63:our room was very basic but clean. the bathroom was very small and there is no lift and we were on the top floor.
Review 64:Location is superb with a room overlooking the Cathedral. Breakfast good with a wide choice. The young manager(s) were most helpful and skoke good English. You pay for the location but would use again with a lower floor
Review 65:That we only had time for one night stop
Review 66:our room overlooked the Cathedral, which was lovely a short walk from the front of the hotel and we were walking along the banks of the Seine stunning views, we then wandered into the the old region full of Restaurants, then we wandered along to the Cathedral for pictures what a building, from the front in the piazza was a lovely little Restaurant next to brasserie Paul the food was sublime and huge portions
Review 67:WE USED A SAT NAV - PROBLEM IS THAT ALL DIRECTION USE STREET NAMES. THESE ARE OFTEN DIFFICULT AND SOMETIME IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE. (NOT HOTELS FAULT)
Review 68:WELL SITUATED, ONCE FOUND !
Review 69:everything about it! The room was so small - no room to stand by the bed. The lighting was almost nil! A rip-off! for the price! Never again! Both of the Comfort Inns we stayed at in France were a farce of a hotel! Real dumps! My husband had to carry our luggage up 4 flights of stairs -no lifts!
Review 70:Not a damned thing!!
Review 71:Room was quite small and shower would benefit by having an overhead light.
Review 72:Great Location
Review 73:Because it was close to the city centre it was almost impossible to find a car parking space
