Reviews for Abbys Hotel
Review 1:Just to mention that the disabled rooms aren't adjacent to the disabled parking spaces if you are mobility impaired.
Review 2:Warm welcome from receptionist. Spacious comfortable disabled room.
Review 3:The staff was wonderful--polite and attentive to our every need. The accommodations were very adequate. The room was impeccable, and we had everything we needed.
Review 4:The one negative if anything is that on the bed there is a beautiful duvet and only a bottom sheet. It was cooler of course when we went so all night was going back between being very hot with the duvet and throwing that off to only get cold as there was not another sheet to cover which would have been enough. Small detail. But otherwise one of the best charming hotels.
Review 5:Staff and cleanliness. They are very welcoming!!
Review 6:About 5km from Sarlat so had to use car for the town centre (parking difficult)
Review 7:Good value for money Friendly staff Excellent breakfast Clean and functional
Review 8:Nothing
Review 9:Breakfasts. Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Cleanliness. Rooms made up each day. Location in the pleasant village of Vialard, near but not IN Sarlat, a car unfriendly place with narrow streets and little parking.
Review 10:We stayed for two nights and used booking.com to book on the day we were arriving. Staff were so lovely. Rooms were basic, but very cosy and clean. Breakfast was simple but yum! Very affordable. :)
Review 11:The electricity fused at 9pm so we had to go to bed early! Next morning however the staff got us re connected quite quickly.
Review 12:so central for Sarlat and the Dodogne valley
Review 13:Need a car, but we always have a rental, so it wasn't a problem.
Review 14:Abby's Hotel is a great find if you have a car. It is just outside of town, perhaps 3-4 miles. Easy to navigate in/out of Old Town. Our room was rather large with two twin beds. The bathroom was quite large for European standards. All was spotless and quiet. The staff was very helpful when we couldn't figure out how to turn on the heat. We were there November 11. We didn't try the breakfast as we had our fruit, veggies, and juice in our room. We arrived when the office was open, but if you don't, there is an automatic machine to help you if you have a reservation ... or not. We would definitely stay at Abby's again. Also ... there is the Ecleric??? big WalMart type store nearby, so if you need anything at all, this store has it!!
Review 15:The disabled rooms are a little too far for those with mobility problems, even though the disabled parking is the closest it can be to those rooms. Needed to use wheelchair.
Review 16:Clean comfortable rooms. All on ground floor. Quiet location although visible from main route. Good continental breakfast with plenty of choice
Review 17:This fairly new property was built in a low valley and the building has a problem with moisture. There is virtually no air circulation in the room unless the door is open since the window cannot be opened. Without some kind of screen on the door, if the light is on, the mosquitoes arrived. The wooden floor (particularly under the bed) was cold and damp to the touch during the entire time we were there (2 nights).
Review 18:The staff was very welcoming and, the young lady who checked us in spoke perfect English which was helpful as she provided lots of information about the area. Room was adequate; wifi worked very well.
Review 19:It is further our of town than the Bookings info indicated and we had trouble finding the place at first. Rooms a rather cramped, but you get what you pay for.
Review 20:A good, basic, reasonably priced place. We needed one on ground floor only. Abbys did us well enough.
Review 21:Minimal staff on site during hours, attitude of staff and owner when issues arose and complaints to be made. Door left open all day after being cleaned, all personal belongings in room at time. Didn't recognise the problem if room entered and items stolen.
Review 22:Reasonably located, good value for money and clean.
Review 23:Nothing - everything was just fine:-).
Review 24:We've stayed in this hotel a year ago while travelling to Perigord and we knew that we had to come back again this year. It a perfect starting spot for trips to many surrounding places. The rooms are small, but clean and the staff is really kind.
Review 25:nothing
Review 26:This is a real haven of modern comfort right in the centre of the Dordodgne, if you like a modern, aircon, comfortable room and bathroom for a very reasonable price this is for you. You do need a car in this area tho. Great wifi, staff are very helpful, all in all a bargain.
Review 27:For some, location a few miles distant from Sarlat center and all its tourist enticement and entanglements might be a defficiency. For us it was a boon.
Review 28:This is a very American motel-style facility with rooms that are adequate in all respects--but just barely... No frills, no extra towels, just the necessities. Staff was pleasant and helpful and rooms were clean . Simply nothing to take exception to and nothing to love--which is just what a trouist couple not interested in being caught up in the downtown Sarlat hassle would want. Value was remarkable!
Review 29:Not walking distance from Sarlat. No check-in until 5pm
Review 30:Clean, inexpensive, friendly receptionist
Review 31:No restaurants within walking distance.
Review 32:Comfy bed, clean room, good ensuite. Well located for touring around the Dordogne.
Review 33:Sound-proofing between rooms could be better.
Review 34:Cleanliness, good breakfast, contact with staff, quiet location. Good value for money.
Review 35:location was excellent as was the staff and the breakfast.
Review 36:Super friendly staff, very clean, excellent value for money. Requires a car to travel around.
Review 37:Motel style, quiet and comfortable. Require a car as it is a little out of town, but an excellent base for exploring the whole region.
Review 38:Convenient for tourist venues. So very clean Friendly staff
Review 39:The wifi doesn't work well.
Review 40:It's in a quiet place and the rooms are clean.
Review 41:On my arrival they couldn't find any trace of my reservation through Booking.com.
Review 42:Clean, modern & comfortable
Review 43:Good breakfast but no fresh baguette
Review 44:Well cared for budget hotel. Staff really seemed to take a pride.
Review 45:Friendly and very helpful staff who went out of their way to help us.
Review 46:Nothing to dislike
Review 47:Wi-fi and breakfast
Review 48:If you have a car, it is a great place to live near Sarlat.
Review 49:Hotel very hard to find.
Review 50:Very pleasant reception staff who actually showed you to your room, not just gave you directions. Very good room and air conditioning worked. Would recommend and would certainly use again.
Review 51:I object to hotels' provision of duvets on every bed. They are so hot you can't sleep under them. They were developed for European winters and are not appropriate for anything else. In addition, the rooms were too warm.
Review 52:Location--easy to find and free parking. Breakfast was excellent. People bent over backwards to be friendly.
Review 53:Window doesn't open, but there is a vent.
Review 54:Clean and convenient! Room is small but adequate for an overnight. Petit dejeuner is served nicely, and offers a good selection.
Review 55:Very good view and clean room. Staffs are very friendly.
Review 56:little bit out of town and fairly basic but clean and convenient
Review 57:town was a hidden gem and the hotel good for the money
Review 58:the drains outside the room smelled quite bad but eventually went away
Review 59:the friendliness of staff
Review 60:Excellent friendly staff who did their best to satisfy our needs.
