Reviews for Vacancéole - Résidence Grand Massif
Review 1:Limited general services in the hotel, due it being an apparthotel (no proper bar, limited reception service). Could do with an iron in the room, but this may have been available upon request. Little to find fault in really. 10 min walk from lift.
Review 2:Quiet, tidy, clean and functional. Ideal bolt hole for ski trip. Handy to have fridge, microwave, hob & kettle in room. Nice en-suite bathroom and separate toilet. Good free wifi throughout.
Review 3:Cleaning certainly must be improved. They just changed the towels. No floor cleaning at all. Also the kitchenette could use some coffee maker and a bit more cutlery and plates.
Review 4:Close to the lifts and warm storage for the skis.
Review 5:Nothing in particular but may be due to low season, the hotel reception in the afternoon was opened only from 5:15pm (we arrived at 3.30pm)
Review 6:The staff members were friendly and informative. The kitchenette was so close to bed, one can even make a cup of tea while lying in bed...hahaha..We liked the swimming pool, no one used it apart from us only ;-) Will return.
Review 7:The changing room of the pool could use a little privacy: no separate changing rooms and a window to the car park where everybody can see you get changed. Although the toilets have room for getting changed.
Review 8:Lovely village Very good condition of accommodation Swimming with a view onto the mountains Very pet friendly
Review 9:Nothing, everything was great
Review 10:We loved the hotel! Good value for money. The room is spacious, clean and cozy and has everything you need and more - a good and comfortable bed, nice bath, a kitchen with all necessary utensils and a large balcony with a beautiful view. The staff are very nice and helpful. The swimming pool very nice and clean. Free parking by the hotel and good free Wifi connection. Very Recommended!
Review 11:Small things, only being able to book in after 17.15. The shower not working properly. A very soft mattress. The wifi kept disconnecting and was very slow.
Review 12:The location, the apartments are modern and clean.
Review 13:The kitchenette had only some basic utensils, we felt we need some more of them (like, i.e. a knife, at least).
Review 14:The apartment was nice and clean upon our arrival. The swimming pool was a big bonus. The location was good, we've been lucky enough to get a room(208) with mountains views.
Review 15:The manager drove me half way up the mountain to fetch my car which I had left up there two days before. Alternatives would have been an expensive taxi ride. I had hurt my foot so walking up wasn't an option. Comfy bed. Nice pool. Good views from balcony.
Review 16:To close to the road, cleaning service could be better, reception is closed in afternoon and opens after 17:00.
Review 17:Normal medium class hotel, nothing special.
Review 18:Unfortunately the pool was not open for the majority of the week and this was our main reason for choosing this hotel.
Review 19:The location in the Alps was very good and the apartment itself was clean and adequate for our needs during the week. The staff were very friendly too.
Review 20:The room was lacking air conditioning so it was awfully hot. The kitchen was pretty poorly equipped for cooking (no cooking knives, chopping board). The balcony was very dusty.
Review 21:The room was just renovated and clean. Quite small but served it's purpose. The swimming pool was nice!
Review 22:We were told to clean the room before we left and then received an email on our return home saying we hadn't cleaned the room well enough !!!!! We were horrified because not only did we actually do the cleaning, but we'd paid 77 euros a night for 14 nights !
Review 23:Helpfulness of staff
Review 24:The pool was closed for maintenance during our stay. My partner and I were disappointed because we chose the hotel primarily for the pool.
Review 25:Friendly staff memeber despite shortage and change in management
Review 26:Limited reception hours during the day
Review 27:Helpful staff, clean hotel, not paying for any frills.
Review 28:Animals within the Hotel.
Review 29:The view from the hotel room.
Review 30:Nothing
Review 31:Value for money room comfort and the views.
Review 32:Poor breakfast not included in the room price.
Review 33:Very spacious appartment and great value for money.
Review 34:Photos were exactly the same as the room, good location, nice view
Review 35:Every thing
Review 36:Staff friendly & helpful. Excellent breakfast
Review 37:Excelent room for 50€. Best money you can buy.
Review 38:Choices during breakfast was limited. The hours of operation and the pool was till 730pm.
Review 39:The place was clean, wasn't so bad for the price.
Review 40:Over good facility
Review 41:Limited reception times
Review 42:Staff
Review 43:Perfect location only a 2 min walk to the village, peacefull and spotless throughout the hotel. The staff could not have done more.
Review 44:Perfect personal, clean, modern, cozy, pets friendly.
Review 45:Location Neat new rooms
Review 46:The reception staff really make you feel unwelcome,
Review 47:rooms were nice, and the kitchenettes worked well, quite location .
Review 48:I think Wifi has to be included. That means no extra paying for it.
Review 49:Modern furniture
Review 50:Fridge hadn't been emptied from previous customer and due to quietness of hotel reception was closed when we arrived .
Review 51:Room with kitchenette was excellent value
Review 52:TV in room did not work and staff tried but could not fix. Constant (24 hr.) noise plumbing?
Review 53:Comfortable bed.Studio apartment ideal for two people short stay.
Review 54:We stayed in the duplex apartment, very nice but just missed a relaxing area i.e sofa
Review 55:Good location, nice town, we stayed last weekend in march 2014 was very quiet in hotel
Review 56:Ski lockers didn't work so kept skis in own room Needed a couple of chairs or small sofa really Car park was 9 euro when it was just a normal car park - bit silly really because if I hadn't mentioned I had a car they would never have known !!
Review 57:Easy to check in etc… Good studio rooms Clean Good location Quiet - had a decent and comfy sleep all three nights Would stay again
Review 58:Room stank of smoke, yet sold as a non-smoking hotel. Bathroom dirty- have photos as evidence. Wi-if broken- staff weren't too concerned about that fact
Review 59:Reasonable location and room would have been fine if it didn't smell a lot of smoke and if the bathroom didn't have the last few occupants grime on the sink and toilet.
Review 60:Having to pay for car parking. Breakfast room was a little small for the amount of guests bearing in mind in a ski resort mort people are eating around the same time
Review 61:The kitchenette was poorly set up- only 1 cup and plate . There was no fridge.very difficult to prepare and cook food. We had to ask for toilet roll as this had not been replenished by staff. We stayed for 5 nights and we're not given clean sheets or towels although the hotel information book stated these would be changed after 3 days
Review 62:Comfort and cleanliness Being able to be independent and come and go at will Verandah and seating outside to enjoy mountain views Good parking facilities Helpful staff
Review 63:WiFi is really poor, and there's no need for it to be so bad. Kitchen implements were also terrible, with no chopping board, decent knife or cooking utensils. Pool was really cold one day because there was "a problem" (unexplained). Receptionist either didn't care or had no authority to resolve minor issues
Review 64:Good location
Review 65:The bar only serves non-alcoholic drinks so we had to buy our own to bring in but no corkscrew in the kitchen! There isn't really an apres-ski spot in the village so the proprietors are missing a trick here. The wi-fi was only accessible when most of the guests were out for the day i.e. completely useless in the mornings and evenings when guests would most want to use it
Review 66:Good amount of space in the one bedroom apartment we rented and sleeps up to 4 so good value. Flexible self-catering accommodation within reasonable distance of the ski lift station in Morillon. We walked there and back every day and it took no more than 10 minutes with kit - often quicker than waiting for the ski bus. About an hour's transfer from Geneva so handy for a weekend break.
Review 67:WiFi didn't work (not enough power if full occupancy in the hotel) Room was not clean at all Studio not properly equipped (nothing in the kitchinette?!)
Review 68:easy to reach, nice village
Review 69:No one at reception desk when we wanted to use the pool. Waiting at desk in bathing suite very uncomfortable in winter! Needs more staff! Also, claimed they would send a sweater I left behind, but did not...disappointed. Also, no one ever answers the phone when I call! Very frustrating!
Review 70:Helpful staff, nice breakfast. Rooms comfy, nice beds. Hot water was spotty on first night, but kicked in after that. Pool was nice, once we finally got in (were locked out with no one at front desk to help).
Review 71:Car parks weren't cleared of ice making them treacherous. Reception is not fully staffed. At a peak check in time 4.00 several people had to wait 15 minutes. Out of hours there is no support. I nearly had to spend the night in reception as no one responded to the emergency number when locked out of my room. Wi fi is variable; not always working.
Review 72:Clean, functional and very warm. Breakfast was excellent with fresh croissants, juicing machine for fresh juices etc. Good location
Review 73:somewhat functional with little charm.
Review 74:Good convenient Location, spacious rooms, modern, warm, able to stay for just a few days, good combination of apartment/hotel with kitchenette.
Review 75:- The wifi is only working in the lobby, but not in the rooms. - Our room smelled like soap for he whole time. - The bed wasn't big enough. - The parking was completely covered in ice, impossible to walk to the entrance without slipping. - Swimming pool was small and very minimalistic. - Very modern decoration, not cosy at all.
Review 76:Clean and spacious apartment, close to the ski slopes.
Review 77:wi-fi network did not work no English language tv channels no cleaning products in apartment uncomfortable sofa in living room staff not interested in investigating issues with wifi or tv
Review 78:location swimming pool bunk beds for kids
Review 79:very poor lighting in kitchen/dining area - very dark. No sofa. Stark furnishings and pretty soulless. Access from village not particularly easy along sloping path.. No clearing of snow in car park made exit difficult in snowy conditions
Review 80:size of bedroom, comfort of bed
Review 81:The access to the main entrees. Impossible to do the turn into the internal drive way. Also, the address was not clear and hard to find.
Review 82:Overall facility. Although, one night there was hot water.
Review 83:We asked for a longer bed and got a sleeper couch that was reallt uncomfortable! Also there were no aircon in the room and we were there during a hot period.
Review 84:Friendly staff
Review 85:Some of the staff at reception were not exactly welcoming or friendly.
Review 86:Excellent big room with comfortable beds and soundproofing (we had a room overlooking what was a busy road in the morning). Good situation for all local facilties. Wi-Fi worked fine. Free parking always available. Clean, functional hotel. Cleaning staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 87:The opening times of the pool were to restricted. the room was warm, I think due to a heater being on but not sure. The wi-fi was down. Decor was dowdy. the planning of the bathroom was very odd (large fittings; small space). Pillows were 'continental' (square). Kitchen was nice to have but oddly planned. I have never had to pay half of the cost as a deposit before; makes claiming expenses a bit difficult. Easier to take full payment in advance. Can't receive phone calls after 10:00pm.
Review 88:Pleasant and foreigner-friendly reception staff. Free wi-fi. Lots of nice towels, Great bed. Nice views from balcony. I re-wrote the welcome messages (A4 sheet in English) and they accepted this with good grace!
Review 89:The extendable sofa was a catastrophe. It was not flat but with a lot of "hills" and "valleys". It was obviously very worn-out. I couldn´t sleep at all. Due to this, I can´t recommend the hotel.
Review 90:nice view of the mountains
Review 91:The kitchenette was very small and poorly equipped
Review 92:Nice rooms with kitchenette and balcony. Swimming pool was excellent with beautiful views of the mountains
Review 93:Distance to the Morillon or Samoens gondola and infrequent ski buses
Review 94:The heated indoor swimming pool was a god-send for our children, andlovely after a day on the slopes
Review 95:Maybe some more kitchen items would have been helpful eg washing upliquid and kitchen cloth. Walk to ski lift longer than the 500mmentioned in the hotel description.
Review 96:Comfortable large beds in new apartment with good bathrooms, and niceif small kitchen. Quiet. Nice pool. Very helpful, smiling andefficient staff.
Review 97:There was no comfortable seating area and there was a lack of crockery.
Review 98:The master bedroom was spacious and had a super king size bed. The apartment also had 2 bathrooms with baths and showers.
Review 99:The toilet in the room didnt work and I had to repair it myself as they didnt, the room smelled strongly of smoking even as a non smoking room.
Review 100:The breakfast was good.
Review 101:Should supply cloths for kitchen area. Worried about hygiene of utensils if reliant on previous guest to clean. Terrible cobwebs above bed.
Review 102:The studio style room was good. Ease of parking.
Review 103:The staff were happy to help at all times, they recommended excellent local restaurants and facilities. The room (duplex apartment) was perfect for two adults and three young children (not babies as the kids bedroom is on a mezzanine with steep stairs) the apartment was well equipped and nice and clean. I would recommend this to anyone wanting easy access to the ski slopes and withing walking distance to the village.
Review 104:Wifi should not be advertised - it barely exists a bit too far to walkto lift in ski-boots (but parking no problem at either end)
Review 105:Room very comfortable Great to have kitchenette facilities Stafffriendly and efficient
Review 106:Breakfast room was too small for the hotel, it needed more tables and chairs.
Review 107:Friendly staff, good location, nice rooms with two bathrooms, fair price, the pool was a nice plus.
Review 108:The sofa bed in the Studio was incredibly uncomfortable... we ended up putting the mattress on the floor!
Review 109:Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They all seemed to speak perfect English too! Nice to have a pool to relax in after a hard day's skiing
Review 110:The noise from the through road was a bit annoying but didn't spoil our stay. Did feel the bedroom and bathroom could have had a more thorough clean. No pillow case on first night but too tired to complain or ask for one! It was very obvious that the mirror in the bathroom needed to be cleaned but was not done all the time we were there. Had to ask Reception for clean towels and toilet paper but Reception staff very helpful. Carpet could have been vacuumed each day especially as there were two young children and two adults between rooms 105 and 107.
Review 111:Warm and comfortable for a budget hotel. Easy reach of Morillon shops restaurants and ski lift. Good parking. Friendly and helpful staff especially locating a doctor for a five year old. Wonderful views from room 107. Probably even better from side rooms facing the mountains. Would probably go for one of the apartments next time. Had a really good time.
Review 112:The morning staff was rude. I got in late . Missed breakfast by a fewminutes. Just wanted coffee. Nobody to help me. I went and made a cup.The staff appeared and yelled at me for not asking first. I explained Ihad been waiting for over ten minutes. On check out they charged me fortwo cups of coffee. The wi fi did not work. I figured for the majorinconvenience of paying for wi fi that was not working, they could havethrown in a cup of coffee
Review 113:The night staff was very accommodation . I give them an excellent rating
Review 114:Wifi not functionning, mezzanine rooms without windows and no air... Staff not very helpful, kitchenette equipment limited to a bare minimum, no soap, salt, etc.
Review 115:Location, nice furniture
Review 116:Wireless is very crappy and not usable most of the time. Tv was notconnected in our room but we were all day out skiing so it wasnt aproblem for us.
Review 117:Great staff, friendly service. Hotel facilities are new and very clean. The pool is great. The rooms are small but very nice, bathroom isperfect. Parking and ski room are very convenient.
Review 118:The room was a bit dated and there were several broken fixtures. We had a suite with a kitchen, but no dish soap or sponge for washing dishes was included.
Review 119:Room was spacious. Location was fantastic for skiing. Staff was friendly. Access to a game room area was nice.
Review 120:Most unconfortable bed I have ever slept in (and I travel on businessaround 2 days per week)
Review 121:Two of the 3 reception staff were brilliant; very friendly and helpful.Cleaning staff also vey attentive.
Review 122:A little bit pricey but understandable as it was a weekend at the height of the ski season
Review 123:The staff were very helpful and our room was nice & cosy
Review 124:The pool would have benefitted from being a couple of degrees warmer but thats more personal taste, kids loved it.
Review 125:Good location and handy for a 1 night stopover before we stayed in Samoens, apartment well fitted out, clean and modern. Would recommend this to a small family we had our 9 & 6 year olds and they loved the bunks and swimming pool. Good value for money. In ski season if you want to eat out book a table no chance of walking in for a table as all are booked.
Review 126:Improvement preferred: Didn't like 'Wet room' preferenclosed shower Clothes storage (nothing in the bedroom) a cupboard forfood Walls all white so room felt cold
Review 127:Friendly staff. Servicable kitchen Cost
Review 128:No jacuzzi
Review 129:Really friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful, clean and comfortable room containing everything you need. Close access to gondola & bus to same if the walk is too far in ski boots. Close access to town and restaurants.
Review 130:I think the prices are rather high considering the location. This hotel is not on the slopes, so you need a car. Also other hotels were pretty booked up. This hotel was completely empty. On our first night there was only one other room occupied , and i think that is down to the price.
Review 131:Staff were Excellent, very helpful and Polite.
Review 132:Kitchenette not well enough stocked to cook
Review 133:Easy going, comfortable and plenty of space for the family, excellent breakfasts and v nice having pool in hotel. Staff helpful.
Review 134:It is wrong to claim that there is free WIFI as it usually failed to work and the staff just said that it didn't usually work. This was one of the main reasons we booked this hotel so we wouldn't stay there again.
Review 135:Clean rooms, warm. Some of the staff were excellent.
Review 136:The pool should be warmer.
Review 137:The Best Western is perfect for anybody looking to get easy access to the slopes from Geneva airport, stay in comfort and without paying a fortune! We hired a car, picked up at the airport, and within one hours drive were on the slopes. The hotel is no frills and fairly basic (apart from a small gym/pool - which is not very warm), however, it more than compensates this by being clean, warm and affordable. The staff are also fairly friendly and helpful. My advise, if you're self sufficient and want to escape for a few days we think this is the best way/place to do it! Hiring a car gave the freedom of finding higher ground if needed to ski but we didn't need to and were blessed by good snow! The ski-lifts are also within a 5 min walk so really good access.
Review 138:our room smelled like smoke and flowers. The dishes were nice to have but they were difficult to clean in the small sink and without cleaning supplies.
Review 139:Our room was bigger on the 2nd floor than our friends' on floor 1. The kitchenette was nice to have. The bed was comfy, bathroom nice, and more or less clean.
