Reviews for Villa Les Palmiers
Review 1:The apartment was spacious, well furnished and comfortable. The owner was very welcoming and helpful in regard to the area and the breakfast was generous and local produce. Fantastic
Review 2:The internet code was extremely long--had to enter it numerous times and then stand by a window before it finally worked.
Review 3:We loved our stay here--a delightful two bedroom second story apartment tastefully decorated and quite comfortable. The fridge was filled with breakfast items and upon our arrival we were asked what type of bread we would like for breakfast as well as what time we'd like it delivered. The owner's hospitality was incredible. We had inquired concerning restaurants in the area--due to the late hour and being in the off season, the owner disappeared for a moment and returned with fresh bread, delicious ham, and a box of pasta so we could make something to eat for dinner in the kitchen. He was so thoughtful and kind!
Review 4:not that easy to find and on street parking but not a problem for us visiting end October
Review 5:John, the owner welcomed us and showed us the first floor apartment, well decorated with spacious 2 bedrooms one having a double bed, the other 2 singles and a single sofa bed, breakfast was just as requested. We have stayed in Wimeraux on a number of occasions and this will now be our first choice for future visits Thank you Jean.
Review 6:Nothing
Review 7:Wonderful 2 bed apartment, the owner is so welcoming and friendly. Fantastic breakfast left outside our door at the agreed time. Would definitely return.
Review 8:The owners hold a very nice bed&breakfast, close to both the village center & the beach. We were delighted with a tasty breakfast in the morning: fresh croissant/baguette, a selection of local cheese, milk, marmelade, orange juice, yogurt. We were 4 and had 2 rooms on the same floor. There was also a small (fully equipped) kitchen available and a small living room, perfect for some late night boarding games.
Review 9:Late check in (17.00)
Review 10:Beautiful apartment. I thought we were getting two rooms in a B&B but it was a self contained flat inc full kitchen. Parking was on the road straight in front.
Review 11:Jean, our host, was an exceptionally kind gentleman who waited up until 11:30 p.m. for our late arrival. We were expecting a b&b but actually had our own apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, living/dining room etc. Jean asked what we would like for breakfast and the following morning left a basket outside our room with fresh croissants, bread and lovely cheese platter with four local cheeses (and hand-written labels so we knew what we were eating). We only stayed one night but had we known about the accomodation we would have stayed longer. The morning of our departure we admired the front garden and had a lovely chat with Jean about the various plants. At least, I think we did. None of us really speak french and Jean didn't speak much english. All in all, a charming stay.
Review 12:Nothing needed a few more days!
Review 13:Great little place, pleasant owner who was very helpful , plentiful breakfast fully stocked apartment, perfect location, loved it .
Review 14:We were pleasantly surprised to find that we had actually booked an apartment for the night, with 2 bedrooms, a living room, kitchenette and bathroom and everything we could possible need. Breakfast was amazing. Tea and coffee making facilities were available while fresh milk, eggs, yoghourts, butter, jam and fruit juices were found in the refrigerator to accompany the fresh baguettes, croissants, pain au chocolate and an assortment of local cheeses provided in the morning. Our host was friendly, welcoming and had thought of everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We certainly plan to return.
Review 15:This is a great place to stay. The host was superb we speak very little french and the host spoke no english but this wasn't a problem. Your every need is catered for it is very relaxing and would love to stay there again.
Review 16:The main bed was not comfortable - thicker mattress and new bigger pillows would be ideal. We could not connect to wifi - although the host gave us the passwords, we didn't have any luck connecting.. this is only a minor issue.
Review 17:Breakfast was great and the accommodation was rustic and charming. We were looking for somewhere with late check in and didn't have much to choose from. This went beyond our expectations. The host only spoke french but he took the time to explain and demonstrate every detail of the flat so we had no problems at all.
Review 18:needs more attention to cleaning in some areas, toilet etc. On street/pavement parking.
Review 19:Charming owner, Good breakfast, spacious accommodation, short walk to seafront & town.
Review 20:standard of cleanliness in some areas & parking
Review 21:Charming owner, very good breakfast offering, spacious, short walk to seafront & all facilities.
Review 22:no bad experiences
Review 23:very friendly host, huge 'room' (a whole floor, 2 bedrooms, ktchen, etc.) and great breakfast with local cheeses which we liked a lot.
Review 24:Greeted by the 4th generation owner who brings fresh bread and croissants to the self catering apartment. Very charming and old fashioned, we loved it!
Review 25:Everything; Clean, large, well equipped, quiet, sumptuous breakfast provided. Friendly and helpful owner. Good location. The best self catering place we have ever stayed, felt just like home.
Review 26:Very helpful and friendly owner. Breakfast was superb, with a selection of local cheeses. All the little touches were there, milk and eggs in fridge, a bit of oil for cooking, coffee and tea in room, even a bowl of fruit.
Review 27:That we didn't stay an extra night or two! I am anal about where I parky the car so I was concerned that I would have to leave the car on the road. However there is a quiet street behind the house and the car was perfectly safe. So for most this would not be a problem.
Review 28:We stayed on the 2nd floor which meant 2 bedrooms, sitting room/dining area/fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. It is an apartment by any other description. Jean, the owner is brilliant, nothing is too much trouble and he has taken great care to 'get it right'. Breakfast including some wonderful local cheeses appears outside your door in the morning. Everything is beautifully presented.
Review 29:Three flights of stairs. Initial difficulty in finding the property.
Review 30:Excellent level of equipment. Wonderful fresh food delivered each morning. Charming host.
Review 31:`Booked a double room but got a 2 bed apartment. Very obliging owner although did not speak English easy to follow French. Breakfast all on site with fresh croissants, baguette and local cheese brought to your room at requested time. A joy to stay here.
Review 32:This is a very quaint and typically French property. There was nothing more we could have wished for in the apartment. Excellent host Jean was extremely helpful and full of local knowledge. He personally showed us round the town to find the shops we were looking for. We wish we had been staying longer than one night and we wish to return some day.
Review 33:The manager was extremely accommodating. Everything we needed was in the apartment and a huge and varied breakfast was provided. The beach is only a couple minutes walk from the apartment. Very convenient and very friendly.
Review 34:That we only stayed one night!
Review 35:the house is set back a little way back from the road with the table and chairs in the garden just like the pictures! The welcome was warm (tho our French has got worse so we were not able to respond very well :() and the apartment was lovely, very clean and spacious. We were 2 but with 2 bedrooms (lots of storage) as well as living room kitchen and bathroom. kitchen was well equipped if cooking is what you want to do but we were more than happy with the breakfast provisions that are there in the fridge - milk, juice, fruit, yogurts, butter, preserves, and all topped up in the morning with bread and fresh cheese left at the door - crosissants and pan au chocolat were options but we didn't want them. Tea coffee and chocolate to make as you wish. Bed was comfortable, it was quiet even tho it faced the road, was just round the corner from the beach, with bars and restaurants within easy reach. Parking was also easy but might be more difficult in July/august. It was great value and will definitely return - wimereux is such a lovely little town.
Review 36:A warm welcome, and excellent facilities-everything you would ever need,a clean and comfortable suite of rooms. We weren't sure initially how or where breakfast would be served, but we were delighted with the self-catering set-up. Each morning fresh croissants, a baguette, and cheese, were brought to our apartment . The fridge was well stocked with milk, juice, water, yoghourts ,cream cheese, and a selection of jams. The location was ideal for easy access to town and sea-front. Such good value,too- we would thoroughly recommend Villa les Palmiers, and look forward to a return visit.
Review 37:distance from the town centre could be a drawback, especially if its raining. Not easy to find when arriving by car.
Review 38:quirky design and excellent appointment of the accommodation, fabulous breakfast, lovely ambience. Will definitely stay here again.
Review 39:The breakfast was excellent and owners very accommodating
Review 40:Incredible location, great accommodation, fantastic host, most amazing breakfast,
Review 41:Superbly equipped and very generous with food. Jean the owner was very welcoming and helpful. He insisted on storing our bikes in the hall.
Review 42:Dare I say that it was very 'French'. very good host and the accomodation had everything we could possibly need
Review 43:arriving time a bit late 4pm
Review 44:loved the breakfast, fhe appartment,
Review 45:Ideal accommodation for a family. Beautiful house, charming hosts. Wimereaux is a lovely little resort. A perfect short break.
Review 46:Building itself a little tired, smartening up the hallway would make a better impression
Review 47:Self-contained apartment, location close to sea front.
Review 48:We received a warm welcome and detailed tour of the apartment, the place was lovingly decorated and had everything (more then) we needed. A very well equipped kitchen, a good shower, lovely living room and bed rooms - even a washing machine and dish washer. We were brought fresh croissants and baguette to our room for breakfast, which we enjoyed with the cheese, jam, eggs, juice etc. that were in the fridge. A short walk to the sea front and the little front garden were an extra plus.
Review 49:We received a warm welcome from the friendly and helpful proprietor. The house has been in his family for generations, and you certainly feel as though you are staying in a warm homely place. The facilities are excellent and the breakfast is wonderful to behold. It seems as though nothing is too much trouble. In addition, the house is located just a few minutes from the sea, restaurants, shops etc. We should not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone - just don't book it up when we next want to go!
Review 50:It was just good value.
Review 51:The relaxing, unspoilt slightly jaded ambience, the space and the charming French host.
