Reviews for Villa Erresinolettean

Review 1:There's a series of fairly steep hills to climb on the way home from St. Jean or Ciboure but only a small quible when you have those views at the end of it.

Review 2:This was such a nice place to stay, like staying with family friends. Stunning views, very clean, very comfortable beds. Great coffee in the mornings and the people who run the villa are incredibly friendly, and with my few words of French and theirs of English with the international language and smiling and hand gestures we were able to communicate perfectly. Really enjoyed our stay.

Review 3:Excellent location, even if it was difficult to find. Henri couldn't be more helpful and the room facilities were better than most 4 star hotels. Easy reach of St Jean de Luz but the restaurants in Secoa are very good.

Review 4:There was nothing not to like about this property

Review 5:An amazing little, “quirky” guest house. We found it a little difficult to find, and the surrounding roads are quite steep and narrow. Having said that, this place was a little gem. We stayed in a bedroom overlooking the bay, with an amazing balcony and views. We were provided with complimentary drinks to be enjoyed on the balcony, which also served as our own personal (superb) breakfast setting. The host was very friendly and gave us excellent advice on where to eat, a lovely restaurant on the quay side, only a few minutes drive away. Excellent value and amazing views.

Review 6:Breakfast was a little disappointing for the price.

Review 7:This has a terrace with amazing views over the bay. There's a pool too, with good facilities beside it. We were welcomed by Henri, who offered us sangria on our arrival. The furniture and fittings in the house are amazing! We had a huge room, which also had a table and chairs, and a sofa bed in it. The bathroom was very spacious, and had dressing gowns for our use. Definitely NOT suitable for children.

Review 8:NOTHING!!!!!

Review 9:Everything was an unforgettable experience, it was not what we were expecting, we thought we were going to stay at a hotel, but we were glad we didn't, what a fantastic view from our very comfortable room, complete with very modern en-suite.The host was the most charming lady and although we only stayed one night we felt we had known her for ages.

Review 10:Bit of a hike up from the village but would be ok if you had a car (which we did'nt! )

Review 11:Quirky property! Spacious room very welcoming host.lovely swimming pool.

Review 12:This charming B&B boasts one of the world's best views! Absolutely breathtaking! Add to that a lovely large swimming pool, comfortable accommodations, welcoming owners, and all of the area's many amenities--beaches, restaurants, shops, adorable Basque villages smothered in flowers, etc.-- it makes for a wonderful holiday visit!

Review 13:Residential location a bit difficult to find

Review 14:The room/bathroom was well furnished and spacious overlooking the gardens and bay below. The host was friendly and very helpful although her English was limited - we had an excellent breakfast

Review 15:1. Don't rely totally on TomTom to get you there. It takes you up very rough road and then down a one-way street! 2. Breakfast was not up to the standard of the accommodation. 3. Don't park right outside St J market - I got a ticket despite my Blue Badge!!

Review 16:We were first welcomed by the son who took our many bags straight up to our room. Madame Chardiet, (who is well into her 80s) was absolutely charming and most helpful throughout our 3 day stay. Our enormous room overlooked the harbour. The bed was very large and most comfortable as were the sofa and armchairs.. The shower room spacious and beautifully equipped. The furnishings of the house are "eclectic"!! There is a splendid pool again overlooking the harbour with loungers, shaded dining table and barbecue area. In the basement there are two beautifully appointed holiday apartments. The garden is sizeable and you don't really want to stir from the villa. Villa Erresinolettean is firmly in our plans for the autumn of 2015 when the weather is reported to be "perfect", Best value meals were at the market bistrot in San Jean, open morning, noon and evening 7 days a week. There is a good mini-market in Ciboure and of course the 7 days a week market in St J.

Review 17:The smell of dogs was completely overpowering and seemed to be engrained in all the furniture, curtains, wallpaper etc. even with all of the windows open and a liberal spray of perfume around the place we couldn't get rid of it. Neither of us could sleep because of it and we felt unable to even contemplate eating breakfast there. Although we had booked for a week, we only stayed one night. The proprietress was understanding and apologetic and made no attempt to get us to pay for more than the night we stayed. I'm astounded by some of the reviews on here that make no mention of the smell - I don't think we are overly sensitive and I cannot imagine that someone could stay there and not notice !

Review 18:The lady who runs this place is friendly and very kind. The view from our room was breathtaking. The pool looked lovely but we didn't stay long enough to try it out

Review 19:Location and the friendly atmosphere

Review 20:Very steep walk on return from town. Limited parking

Review 21:Fantastic views. Quaint decor, very helpful host.

Review 22:None

Review 23:Everything

Review 24:The crazy camp decor and linen

Review 25:The helpful host,, the lovely pool, breakfast on the terrace, the view from the balcony.

Review 26:Only sweet breckfast

Review 27:The quite position on the hill The fact that in 3 minutes by car you are on the see The courtesy and discretion of landlord

Review 28:Wi-Fi restrictions.

Review 29:We liked convenient location, comfortable apartment, wonderful view on Saint Jean de Luz, friendly owners.

Review 30:Big bed with sea view and gorgeous breakfast on the balcony.

Review 31:We don't mind dogs and cats, but some people might. If you don't then don't book here as they are all over the place, running round under the table during breakfast (dogs) and lying on your bed (cats) There are no products in the very tired bathroom, not even a bar of soap and the towels were so hard and gritty, I wouldn't have given them house room in a charity shop.

Review 32:The location - the view was superb looking over the bay of St. Jean de Luz. However, you would probably need to drive into town. It would be quite a long walk. The lady was very sweet and the breakfast was good.

Review 33:Cold room (no heating even in mid-April). Difficult to connect to Wifi which was very slow. Due to the construction work in the main building, stayed in a special room in a different building which seemed to be normally unused for guest rooms (ground floor looked like an office). No one except us in the building. Therefore, felt spooky. Stony steps were slippery and actually I slipped and hit my back heavily. Swimming pool was not cleaned yet and I noticed many spider nets. Room-price is too expensive for the provided room and services. No credit card accepted:cash only.

Review 34:Great View. Large room with a balcony. Nice breakfast with delicious good-flavor coffee. Secured car-parking on the site.

Review 35:The Villa is in a tremendous position with terrific views, not far from the town facilities and in a quiet spot. Our room was very spacious and well furnished. Use of the pool in an atractive garden.

Review 36:Our bedroom was large which was nice but was described as with en suite facilities. We had to go out into the public hall to go to our bathroom.

Review 37:Quaintness and position of hotel ,and friendly and helpful landlady

Review 38:Views over bay from terrace. Spacious room

Review 39:instant coffee

Review 40:room, location, view
